Down in Brisbane for an event and staying nearby, took the opportunity to get this cache as we needed a “Z” animal. It was hot day but thankfully not too far of a walk from the car park. Quick find once at the GZ. Didn’t have time/it was too hot to do all the caches in the area. Will have to come back! Tftc
We had a nice walk in that park and found some interresting caches.
Danke an Ms Maddy für diesen Cache

A slippery climb to GZ.
Navigated the loose rocks up to the cache and found the nasty cammo waiting for me. A bit more of a view up here compared to the last find.

Day 5 of the 7 day streak souvenir hunt is complete with this beauty. It was a lovely walk through this gorgeous piece of bushland. My GPS had me going around in circles, but we got there in the end. All good with the cache. It is snuggly tucked up under a bit of extra camo. TFTC #531
Cache a day to keep the doctor away, or is it to keep me sane. No it’s to keep my streak alive *248 days. TFTC The Stablehand #1631
Dropped off a key ring and wasn’t put off by the fake snake out with PirateLinda

4th find with Giraffe 18. We are on . Left Pirate Treasure to match the Pirate necklace.
Lovely winters day for a walk in the Reserve whilst filling in time before I go to an event.
This one was in a nice location, saw two wallabies but no Zebras today, neat hide.

Damn nearly died, thinking up and around was the way. Turns out, Mama was right, kiddo was wrong! Team Ireland- BOOYAH!
Cachng with toriakyogle and the geoterrier just on dark. Found in good shape. We had to move away quickly after signing the log because the mossies were moving in. Thanks.
Took me awhile to hesitantly uncover this one after the snake skin wasn’t so sure if this was a joke and kept hearing things rustle through the dry leaves! Finally got there, all good with cache. A lovely Sherlock travel bug to log. TFTC
Another after work caching adventure. I love these longer daylight hours. I decided a short walk was in order, so Made my way to this one. Last time I was in the area, I had somehow missed this one. :O Time to remedy that! I parked the geomobile and headed to GZ. There, the cache was quickly located and the log signed. TFTC
WillPuney, Scoob and I had a couple of hours free in Brisbane and fortunately we chose this park because the boys and I had a great time finding these 11 caches, all decent sized hides with plenty of room for swaps. The only muggles we saw were a bike rider and a few wallabies. Thanks Stablehand and Crew 153 for the series.
Out for an afternoon walk I the bushland.
Picked up five caches while slowly making oor way astound the track. Another quick find for me this quiet time of the day
Thanks for the cache

Seeking the 8 caches in this park today, and got this one nice and early. 7.00am.
Meets a "Z" for Zebra in a challenge cache too, so good one to get.
Thanks for the cache. The plastic bag in the cache is ripped, but the cache and log are not wet at all.
Cheers!

Zebra? Mountain goat more like! I'll have to take it slow back down on account of a dodgy knee! But otherwise a nice cache in some serene bush popular with joggers.

Had some time to kill on this windy day so I chased some horses around Belmont. First up was a hill climb to get the heart started. An easy find and sign before heading to the next. Tftc
We continued exploring the trails through the forest, and were pleased at GZ to note this was not real!! Nice stripes, and then we signed the log and we soon continuing our adventure.
Thanks again Thestablehand for placing this series.

Luckily geohubby went to retrieve this one. Glad it’s nearly winter and not stinking hot!! TFTG
Hm, no stripes that I could see, but I found a guardian nearby and replaced it on the cache.
Four days of geocaching all over Brisbane, mostly because I looked for nice natural places. Thanks to a tip in the Facebook group I visited Belmont Hills Reserve and found all the caches in there. Nice walk though not that special, just a forest, but I saw some wallabies and of course the caches are all very nice!
Thank you for the cache!
----------
I was on the opposite side of the world already and could not resist a short hop from New Zealand to Australia. In a week I visited Coolangatta and surroundings, Byron Bay, some other parts of Gold Coast, but most of the time was spent in Brisbane.

This is the final one in this fun series for me today, and I got here with my phone on the cusp of conking out. Note to self: reduce the brightness setting before heading off on a two-hour bush walk / caching session.
All's well with this container and log, as it is with each one in the series. Enjoyed my first time in the Belmont forest, so, many thanks to Ms Maddy for bringing me here, and for the caches.

Shuffling along the crest of the hill back down the gentle slope, I was prepared to follow the track round to GZ because it seemed just even enough for me to walk slowly on my sore feet. I was at the point of no return and had calculated my way back to the car. I was reading some of the past logs and one mentioned they had to walk "up" to this cache, and I came to a stop. Bugger that!!
It looked all downhill on the direct path so I summoned up all my energy like in a Rocky movie where he takes 1000 punches and the theme song kicks in and he wins the fight with just one punch, and bush-bashed. I was hurting like no man, and stinking like every man. In hindsight it was the best way to attack the cache because I could see it as I sauntered down the hill with the style of a three-legged dog that's just broken another leg.
I was elated when I'd signed the log because with just a small descent the rest of the walk was flat. My hiking pole was also getting tired from all the hard work it had to do and seemed to be complaining to me incessantly. When I got to the car park, I kicked (or more like catapulted) the shoes off and walked around on the bitumen in my socks like your average bogan. It felt good, real good. I wished I had of packed a flannelette shirt because then I really would of looked the part. tftc

Found safe and sound, love the swaps, will need to get some so I can start swapping too! Someone has placed a pesky fake snake close by!
Second dark land's find this early morning, nursing the GPS battery supply and hoping it holds out. What a basic rookie mistake!!
The slight hill climb had me huffing and puffing before reaching GZ. Caught the zebra napping and had it tamed before it knew what was happening. But just before the find, found a snake wrapped around a rock which had me treading carefully. Onward to the oldie and the caching elite.
Thanks for maintaining this horsey series of caches Ms Maddy.

As we are logging the CO sends through a message to let us know that we were in fact near a shooting club, her shooting club actually, I was positive I heard guns that day and Mr 4ando was lying to me about it being ‘excavators’ he was just making sure I didn’t chicken out! All good though, it’s only a club and not an Ivan Milat
Great weather for Geocachers today so why not go to the Belmont area. Patrol14 has joined us.
Oh yes, it is striped!
Log signed and replaced. Logged at 2 September 2017 1:01 p.m.. TFTC, The Stablehand.

Out for a morning caching with RoddyC and another on our list for this patch of bushland. After the ups and downs of the previous caches, this was finally located after searching another POR.
Logbook signed and cache returned to its hide.

Tftc. The last find in the series for me. Thanks for the excellent cache maintenance and taking me to this nice slice of suburbia
Another smiley face on the map, and another nice hide. All good & dry inside. Left pink unicorn TB. TFTC
Another obvious cache to spot as the cache is pretty sizeable to hide. We took parachute dude and triceratops. P.S. Nice cache bodyguard . Sneak Squirrels
Thought we'd take a canter around the Belmont Bushland on this public holiday.
Took Stamp, left King Wally medal.

TheHinds_XO and I quickly moved onto our next location. Is a zebra part of the horse family?! A quick ask of google and it seems they all (horse, zebra, donkey) belong in the Equine family, with a genus Equus. There you go!
This area was quite magical and I can imagine some 4 legged friends working there way down the path here in time gone by.
A quick find here where all is well. Not a fan of the cache guardian, but the cute little zebra made up for it. . Tftc

2nd stop on my walk today for The Zebra. Loved the stripes on the cache. This terrain in this reserve is very rocky and you must watch where you stand still staring at your phone or gps or you may find yourself upon an ants nest. Bitey bitey. I love a nice big cache, stuffed it full of treasure signed log and replaced all the SPOR & S. TFTC Ms maddy.
Puff, gasp, puff! It's no wonder they are hard to find, reached the posted location but no Zebra sightings for us today... **TFTC**
A quick find with lisylou and mnance101 and remsjw today last one back to the car
Out with part of the team Mnance101, Lisylou, and Bennyboppers. Slightly amused that the geovehicles were almost in sight and we could still hear the unicorn laughing we rounded up the zebra and made sure there was plenty of grass and water for the livestock, we made our way out of the grounds.
From the saddle to the zebra, back up and over the hill we went. The area is complete in less than 2 hours. Thanks for the caches in this bushland. Tftc
Out caching with Bennyboppers, Lisylou and Remsjw. TFTC and a great series! Lots of walking today!
Visiting Chandler today and saw these caches on the GPS as I passed and decided to return and check them out.
After paking the geomobile I headed off and enjoyed the walk around the bushland reserve picking up some caches along the way and this was one of them.
Once the log was signed all was returned as found.

I had done most of the caches in the Scrub Rd bushland with the exception of two. As we found ourselves nearby today, I decided that we should get the smileys.
The girls didn't like the climb up the hill to this cache too much and opted to stay on the path when we needed to go off trail and up more hill.
The geoboy made an easy find and made his mark on the log. We didn't have any swaps though as they were in the bag the girls were carrying.
On the way out a kangaroo or wallaby came bounding across the path in front of us at tremendous speed. It was quite an amazing sight to see.

Another day of GCing planned with KerriMG.
Had seen this series in Belmont Hills and had wanted to tackle it.
By now it was hot and even though Ms Maddy had told us to bring water I had drunk all mine so I met the hill standing between us the cache with a heavy heart.
Found the Zebra easy enough and decided to have a rest while admiring the cache.
Number 9 in our circuit.

Out for the day caching in Belmont Hills Bushland with Nikid1 today.
Our ninth find in the bushland today & oh my what a hill that is to get back up to this cache! I'm very glad it was on a track though and not a bush bash like our trip down the hill was.....
It's a stinking hot day today & I was very glad to find this zebra & have a little rest with him. I definitely need to work on my fitness!

Heading to an event on the North side of Brissy today but I had some spare time to grab a few I have been after for awhile now. I came here for the old one on top of the hill but it would have been plain rude to walk straight past this one without signing it.
I must say my thought of this bush land was nothing like what it is. I was quite surprised at the state of the tracks and the surrounding area. It's rather a nice looking area which I will be happy to come back and complete the series at some stage.
Log signed and replaced as found.

With AJsCache today and our goal was to complete all the caches in the Belmont Hills Reserve. This was our fifth find of eleven. Thanks for the cache, it's dry and in good condition. No TBs

Last time we were here it just got to hot (38) to finish all the caches here. Today the temp is a lot lower so headed here early in the day to see if we could finish what we started. We were half way to this one whenMr LHE Duo realised he had left his phone in the car so it was all up to me to navigate. This was the first one and it was Mr LHE Duo who made the find. He added our name to the log and rehid the cache. TFTC
It's all pretty much down hill from here Totalube says .... Nope, one last up hill!
Not too hard to spot when we got there but it was just another up hill that's the killer.

But eventually Sezzz and I made it to the cache and found another little pony.

Wow. This cache reminded me that I have gotten lazy of late. Huffed and puffed until we saw it was 20m further up the hill. The place was obvious so I confess we sent Loustalker's geoson the retrive the cache.
Great walk - thank you!

Out today with a fellow cacher. Managed to survive the recent heatwave and knock off most of this series without dehydrating. Despite the hills the shade of the natural environment made it much easier.

Back today to finish the series in here and I am on my own today.
Parked the geomobile at the usual spot and headed off.
Soon I was puffing and panting along the trail.
Soon I was at GZ and the cache was in hand.
TNLNSL TFTC Thanks Ms Maddy All good with this cache
A favourite for the series. Now to go get the saddle to ride all those horses except the zebra which just gets a pat and a carrot.

I came here for an older QLD cache and of course I couldn't come here without grabbing all the ones available nearby! So an eventful day on a solo run of the Belmont Bushland reserve. This was really a great way to spend the Ekka show day holiday.
As I had not thought I would do all the caches I had discounted this one, and once I realised it was so close...I couldn't resist. A nice stroll down the hill for a quick find.
Thanks Ms Maddy!
