#4321 Today is day 45 of my geocaching vacation in New Zealand. I'm wandering around Hamilton and finding geocaches.Found it! Nicely done. Can't imagine if I did this at night. FP added Brennaz adopted by Cats&Dragons, thank you for the cache! -crystaloops from Taipei, Taiwan on November 14, 2024 @ 15:32:44[GC436Q8] What are you prepared to do? (Waikato) was a D2.0/T1.5 Micro Traditional Cache at the time of finding.

21-Oct-24
That was fun! I went after getting all muddy from some other caches since it sounded like this one might be a dirty job, but it was just fun to find!

18-Oct-24
OHC and I had taken the opportunity to jump the ditch and explore New Zealand for a few weeks. Today is our second full day here and we were looking forward to all that we will see and find.We thought that we had an idea of what to expect. We were severely out on our guesses. Thanks for bringing us here with this cache.

18-Oct-24
Armed with jandals and a chilly bin, a couple of Aussies headed across the ditch for a 3-week tiki tour, exploring the beauty of New Zealand.DAY 3: Auckland to Rotorua via Hamilton.Did some research and read some logs in preparation for this, but nothing... NOTHING could prepare us for what lay ahead! That poor fellow before us. How awful!A favourite point heading your way. Thanks for showing us this special place by placing this cache, opted-out user tn koe~~

17-Sep-24
Haha! Definitely my favourite geocache so far.

27-Jul-24
Spending the evening in Hamilton, so figured we'd pick up one of the more favourited caches before dinner. A nice easy find here, but a very creative cache, for which we have awarded an FP. TFTC!

14-Jul-24
Up here from Palmy for a 3/52 training block so grabbing caches in my downtime. Thankfully I left with all my fingers. Unlike some poor sod RIP Love this! Worth the find. Logbook(s) is getting fragile and could do with a new one. Otherwise in dry condition Mihi ki a koe mo te keteroki #162

05-Jul-24
Found it, so good! Made me laugh, thanks. A little grubby now.

26-May-24
RM + SA Very cool, left a little present. May benefit from a new log.

09-May-24
A short, little caching trip after running a few errands on this side of town.I've seen this cache has racked up a good number of FPs so figured it must be worth a detour.Side-stepping some household detritus , I spotted something suspicious a little further along that begged for closer attention. Cautiously, I handled the object...the first step completed ok...then smiled in surprise that I had not befallen a similar fate to an earlier cacher WinkNice handiwork here. Well worth the visit. Thanks Cats&Dragons for keeping this one alive.#5213

24-Apr-24
We found this cache successfully. Great idea, very funny! Thank you

17-Mar-24
We were prepared to reach in but didn't need to in the end. Have messaged CO about that. Took our hand wipes just in case. It's a pretty stinky and rubbish strewn area. Loved the story though and the actual cache was excellent so still gets a fav from us.

16-Mar-24
After a day of caching around town I was approaching 500 finds, after seeing how many FPs this one had I thought I'd make it my 500th. Cache was spotted quickly after arriving on site, and although the log was pretty full I managed to find a spot. Definitely one of the more creative of my recent finds, so another favourite point from me. Tftc

16-Dec-23
Parked in a nearby carpark along the river and walked back to the cache. It was obvious we were getting close from the smell wafting over that was helped along by the hit summer's day. Was dmkw1's turn to blindly shove his hand into the dark hole this time, but he was cheeky and got around that TFTC

16-Dec-23
Had little idea what to expect before arriving - the description is quite ominous and the location adds to the overall effect.Parked a short way up the road and walked from there. Quickly spotted something a bit out of place, and after some hesitation, the log was signed. A very creative hide.TFTC

got this one! fair to say it got a bit of me too! you might find it when you find the cache too!

06-Nov-23
Accio 09:40:04Literally anything really - and tbh I have tried most of what anyone can imagine for a cache over the past ten years. I took up hiking, camping, 4WDing, rock climbing, tree climbing, tree fishing, long drives, interstate flights, international flights all for a cache. Coming from Australia "putting your hand in there" comes with extra excitement (and often gloves). I have swum through what at least smelled like effluent before - I can do this eh?very nice. Pleasant really. And I am in freakin' New Zealand in the countryside (sort of), a gorgeous river nearby and my girl by my side ... I am very prepared to do THIS!Thanks Brennaz adopted by Cats&Dragons for entertaining me at this location.Cool *{Overall find #11655}* Cool

06-Nov-23
Found with Pprime`. I am prepared to watch him do the silly things

31-Oct-23
Found on our very quick trip through to the airport. Couldnt find Alexander anywhere.

28-Oct-23
due to location was imagining all sorts of scenarios. Could use a log replacement TFTC

14-Oct-23
Quick find. What a cache to show my companion who is new to the game

26-May-23
This was a quick bit of fun! I had some thoughts about what we would have to do at ground zero, and I was relieved none of my worst nightmares came to life! We had a good giggle at the cache and it's contents.

26-May-23
Found it. I'm glad none of my imagined scenarios came true when finding this one! Had a good giggle at it with my sister Laimelde.
Thanks!

26-May-23
The log is full, and falling apart, and has been supplemented by a number of other scraps of paper, which makes it hard to fit everything into the cache without causing further damage! A clearout and replacement log would help a lot.

The cache contents could probably use some new glue too - just to keep everything properly daunting

13-May-23
We made this cache years ago when we lived in Hamilton. When we moved away from the area, Cats&Dragons was kind enough to adopt it and have kept it running. Since we were in driving through Hamilton, we thought we would check it out for nostalgias sake. Good to see it is still in working order. The original version used to be partly buried, but I am not surprised it has moved a bit over the years. The container, and the idea for the cache are still working great. Thanks for keeping it alive Cats&Dragons.

18-Apr-23
Another day in the land of the long white cloud. TeamARF, JACSTeam and I headed back toward Auckland gathering caches as we drove along. A few odd ones today but happy overall with the day. I had booked us a place rather remote so a tad more driving than we had anticipated plus a road closure altered our plans the next morning. Still heaps of fun and some some fab caches. Thanks to all the COs

17-Apr-23
I'm enjoying the geocaching mobile App highlighting favourite caches. As we were driving right past this spot, if would be rude not to check it out.

I agree with the premise the CO's put forward. Geocaching has put me in situations I wouldn't have normally tried. But being in NZ without any snakes to contend with, I feel a lot more comfortable walking through long grass, crawling over wood heaps and scrambling over rocks. Thanks to Brennaz and Cats&Dragons for maintaining this oldie and another FP for your efforts.

17-Apr-23
Day 4: We ( TeamARF, Gcoven and myself) have travelled over from Brisbane, Australia to have a visit since we were not able to make it to the Mega. We have spent some considerable time solving puzzles and making plans in preparation.

Today the plan is to work on collecting things of our list. We have a gigantic list of old, interesting, highly favourited, challenges and a few Geo-arts to try and collect over the next 10 days. There is a good chance we got lazy with our logging and do some joint variation of our initials - TGJ, GJT or JGT.

Please excuse the generic log, just have extremely little data to try and survive on it for the 10 days. However, you can be assured that if we have found your cache it was special to us for some reason or in a special location - so thank you for contributing to our holiday.

I will edit logs when back in Brisbane to add more details to those that need more details and of course I will be adding favourite points as I go along.

12-Apr-23
Great put together cache. Pretty fast park & grab on this one.

09-Apr-23
Haha us adults had a go then we set it back up for the kids….they weren’t impressed! Thanks for doing something abit different. I signed the last spot on the log so a new one is needed TFTC

01-Apr-23
Day 14 on our holiday in New Zealand. Today we are in the area and surrounding area of Hamilton. We also visited this tradi, found it, and signed the logbook.

***T4T$ - Many Thanks to Brennaz adopted by Cats&Dragons for hiding and maintaining of this cache*** ️

Greetings from BC, Canada.

We are a family of 5 on vacation in New Zealand. Cachers in the family include BeesKnees34, SOB_4M, AlexBN16 and me. We have been enjoying the beautiful landscape and visiting some awesome locations.

Stopping along the way to grab some cool caches. We targeted high favourite, old caches, different cache types and some other caches along our routes.

We all enjoyed this one. Gets a fav from me.
Thanks Cats&Dragons for the fun cache!

07-Jan-23
The boys loved this find.

07-Jan-23
Yep, was prepared to make a find of a cache and all was good. A nicely put together cache and a good bit of camo in play, FP from e to increase the total, cheers.

The week of fun is over and it's the day to head back up to Te Rapa to meet up with Dad and exchange the precious cargo of the 6 year olds. I'd had a Pocket Query for the area from the other day but no time for hunting, today we had a few minutes available and Governor Ed provided the wheels, I did the guiding. A couple of high FP searches before I headed back down the line to Marton, through some of the worst rain I've ever driven in.

We've done our change-over of grandchildren, two of the smaller ones have headed home after a couple of days and nights with us as 2022 rolled over into 2023 and we headed up to collect the 6 year old twin boys from a half-way meet in Te Rapa Hamilton and they're with us for 5 nights and 6 days - nice one!

30-Oct-22
TFTC awesome cache!

08-Oct-22
Now that is worth a favourite point if I had one. GZ was obvious once there but the build up was worth it. A little bit of moisture inside added to the ambience. Thanks for taking the time to create this cache.

17-Sep-22
A group of like minded people had been motivated by Mrs NZTravellers to cycle the river trail from Ngaruawahia to The Hamilton Gardens...it had been postponed before and today was the day, and the weather looked good to support a fun day full of adventure and crazyness......

Dropped bikes and gear at Ngaruawahia and headed down to the gardens where we were to drop off a car for the return drive, and then headed back....
We were met by others, which meant we were ready to set off.

Finally arriving home around 9pm, after collecting a few more along the way...

Liked this themed hide...fav point given....

Signed in as SEAC to save logbook space and onto the next.....

TFTC.

17-Sep-22
A sizeable group of Team SEAC had decided to bike the first stage of the Te Awa Bike Ride from Ngaruawahia to the Botanical Gardens in Hamilton. This was our second attempt, as some particularly nasty weather thwarted our previous attempt before we even got started. Luckily, today the weather played ball and we enjoyed a pleasant day's bike ride along the mighty Waikato River.

Sorry that I am not able to post my usual stories about each and every cache that we came across, but I am too buggered after the ride. So generic logs it is this time. We still appreciate all the work that goes into the caches that we found, and thank the COs for planting the caches along this lovely track. We really enjoyed the bike ride and the caching.

The log was signed as Team SEAC, or just SEAC to preserve log space.

TFTC

17-Sep-22
Out with members of Team SEAC cycling the Te Awa Bike trail. Awesome day out and a total of 34kms! Thanks for placing this cache and getting outside on our bikes

Loved this cache, was very handy.

17-Sep-22
A few months ago Mrs NZT suggested a cycle ride from Ngaruawahia to the Hamilton Gardens. Our first attempt was postponed due to bad weather. So today a group of us from Team SEAC finally got to do the planned outing. It ended up being 34kms, taking nearly 5 hours, involved lots of laughs, and getting a good number of caches along the way. A quick find at the posted co-ords. Loved the cammo here, lots of fun. Fav point for the cammo. Log signed Team SEAC to save space on the log. TFTC

17-Sep-22
Was out with Team SEAC on another adventure. Riding this route was in the making for a while but due to weather conditions, we had to put it off another month, till today!

21-Aug-22
Bloody hell I nearly chopped my fingers off.
Was worried at first when I spied a neat pile of sticks and leaves, and then when I saw loads of litter. But then I spotted something not quite right. A bit of a struggle unscrewing the end but it was worth it for the cache.

30-Jul-22
Great cache, Finn thought it was very creepy. Fave from us, love the size and creativity. Not another boring micro lol

09-Jul-22
Found with Arran Beverly

25-Apr-22
Hilarious! Maybe pinch your nose while you’re searching

13-Feb-22
TFTC really cool can see why this is a favourite

18-Jan-22
A slow trip up to Auckland for the Mega next weekend. Stayed the night at the Classic car Museum on Rifle Range road. Doing some local caches before the geocache event this evening. Noted the number of favourites for this cache and came out to find it. Not disappointed. Thanks for a memorable hide that’s been the highlight today.

09-Jan-22
Decided to come back to this one and do a swapsie for one of the objects inside. TFTC.

01-Jan-22
Probably need big hands for this, and a strong stomach!! Luckily with KR and I'm an ex theatre nurse. Glad not to be dealing with accidents like these anymore! Tftc

01-Jan-22
A nice quick find thanks. Returned as found, but thinking back I should have placed it further in! Fav point from me.

Wow, after 1830 on New Years Day and the place was almost deserted. We'll try for some other high stealthiness caches this evening I think!

Time for another trip to the North Island for Ms_KR and me. Wellington and beyond here we come. Today we cruised around Ohakune, until the engine cooked that is. It would have to be New Years Eve.

Thanks to all CO's for publishing and maintaining their caches. Cheers.

28-Nov-21
On a work trip in Hamilton
Got some spare time.

Decided to pick few caches while in town

Thanks for the cache!

Amazing cache. Decently worth a favourite point!

28-Sep-21
HAHAHAHAHA this made me have a good laugh. This is such an awesome cache. Definitely a local fav of mine. Really enjoyed reading a description that intrigued me enough to take a risk for a cache. Really enjoyed finding this with my partner (loganbrah). Absolutely genius and appreciate the creativity gone into this.

28-Sep-21
Such a good cache, found with KaelynKingi Thanks !

Awesome cache. Plenty of room for swag. Loved this one. Thankyou!

06-Jan-21
Found on a hot summer’s day en route from Auckland to Rotorua. Wasn’t sure what to expect but I was brave and went for the log! Even managed to drop off a trackable before running away. TFTC

23-Dec-20
#12,126. Almost a park and grab on Pukete Road in Hamilton. Yes, quite a busy road today. Fortunately, GZ itself was all quiet at the time of our visit. Quick find. Yes, we were prepared to do this. The cache itself was in good condition, all nice and dry inside. But we thought there might be a digit missing. Took nothing, left nothing, signed log.

Thanks for the placement, and for bringing us to this site, and …

18-Jul-20
Despite Mrs Taylana's insistence that Mr Taylana should grab hold of the phone wire nearby, we decided to double check the coordinates and ended up looking elsewhere. Mrs Taylana was cautious as she peered inside...we made a joke about there being something inside, and then that very thing WAS inside! Very clever! TFTC

22-Feb-20
Heading south today with Team Gold ( 0B80B8, Lis's Crew & DaffyNZ ), from Northland to do a weekend caching trip in the Waikato, with the main objective being the Hakarimata Trail. The weather was not so great today, so we delayed doing our walk till tomorrow, and concentrated on others around the area.

Stopped off near this one and soon made a find of an interesting container. Took my life in my hands and came up with some unexpected goods as well as the log. Very well done and gets a FP from me. TFTC

22-Feb-20
Spooky, but in a good way! Well worth a favorite point.

17-Jan-20
Excellent cache. The most creative one I’ve found so far!

15-Dec-19
Had a bit of a chuckle over this one.
Tftc

12-Oct-19
Loved it. Definitely deserves a fav point. The log needs to be changed. Someone has a sense of humour. Tftc

31-Aug-19
Absolutely Brilliant!
Thanks Brennaz for the original idea ...never seen anything like it!
Very cool....
Favourite Point coming very soon after I've done a trail later today...
Having a fun day and targetting some highly favourited caches with merlot and Jag.

31-Aug-19
In the Tron for a road trip with Supernanny and Merlot58. We realised that we were fast approaching our 7000th cache, so chose this highly favourited cache for this milestone. As we parked near GZ, we had to wait for a muggle walking his dog to move on before we jumped out of the car. Wasn't long before we spotted something that required further investigation. As this was our milestone, Mrs JAG was nominated and was prepared to do what was required to retrieve the log. We were all glad we hadn't fallen for the same trap as the previous victim had! Our favourite cache for the day and worthy of all the FPs.

31-Aug-19
On an adventure in Hamilton with Supernanny and Jag50. I loved this cache! We took a wee detour when we saw the number of Fav points and were glad we did. Mrs Jag was prepared to do anything and took one for the team! FP given

02-May-19
Last week we skipped this cache because of the heavy rain but today we finally could log it. Thanks for the great cache, we loved it! Favorite point from us!

23-Mar-19
Saw so as my dad used to say crazy people on uncontrolled big animals. Aka horses. Showjumping and cross-country. Great hide. Love the detail in it. FP from me. Find #311 for me.

22-Feb-19
A superb cache which gets a favourite from us. We just couldn't resist taking the bait. A quick digital count afterwards revealed all present and correct. TFTC

11-Feb-19
I was heading down to meet up with a group of cachers to climb up Mount Kakepuku. I picked up tramyard early as we wanted to target a few high fav caches in Hamilton before the meetup time. We quickly spotted the cache and didn't hesitate to extract the contents. Very cool cache!

10-Feb-19
Arrived here in the morning with Aiden29. We left Auckland early to do some TOP rated caches in Hamilton before climb the Kakepuku mountain which was the main plan for today. Another well placed hide! It was joy to find it and sign it. TFTC

28-Jan-19
Really cool cache, love it. TFTC

29-Dec-18
Oohhh what an awesome cache. We weren't to sure what to expect but soon had the log in hand. Gets a favorite point for us for the well thought out cache.

24-Dec-18
TFTC! Having to cross the North Island and back in a day I had hoped to grab a few interesting finds.
The rain was so constant and intense in the end I managed only one, but what a find!!!
Had CIH before long and was back on the road in no time.
Thankfully everything was smelling agreeable with the heavy rain.

04-Nov-18
Been a while since I've done any serious caching so thought I should get back into it and make a wee day of it. Was nearby picking up a mystery cache and saw this one with the huge number of fav points so of course had to go and have a look. Pretty awesome set up and definitely got a giggle out of me so thanks for that! I'm definitely one of the ones who puts my hand in anywhere before thinking it through Very Happy Thanks for the cache and the effort

23-Oct-18
Luckily we didn't fall for the same trap that the last cacher did. Loved the hide. A favourite point from us. TFTC

14-Oct-18
On a long trip down to the mega with Lis's crew. So for me it good for numbers and favorites caches. With several stops and a lot of caches and several souvenirs up for grabs the trip was the perfect opportunity to get my numbers up and get some challenges that I have qualified for. Love the idea love the cache I just hope the previous cacher makes a full recovery... Fp from me.

14-Oct-18
Well it appears we are prepared to do almost anything for a find. I'm on a 10 day trip to the Mega in Wellington with thegreatauk. He was very keen to find this one given its favourite points and he didn't hesitate at all. A great hide, thanks Smile

31-Aug-18
Very funny, thanks for the great cache, cheers

18-Aug-18
What an amazing day! Set off to the Waikato with intentions to meet up with NZFlossy and TNXPro but somehow didn't see either of them - instead I managed to alternate my caching partners between Mr & Mrs Tryfyn & KayDeeGee and then Davidson Clan & Squirrel Nutcase for the late shift. I had a great time at both of the Hamilton events and enjoyed catching up with the locals here and from home. Lastly - a big 'thank you' to the CO's that made 2018's International Geocaching Day so awesome.

An interesting container - exposed but well set up so I suppose that's the point. Cheers Cats&Dragons for keeping this one going, TFTC Smile

What am I prepared to do? Turns out almost everything, including dipping my hand up to the wrist in freezing cold, disgustingly dirty water in the name of guerrilla warfare and, it turns out, risking said appendage in even more biohazardous environments. Great cache. I can see why it has all the favourite points. I guess I'll add another. TFTC and FP.

02-Jun-18
I guess this is a time when reading too many logs got us a little too primed on the hide to expect at GZ so when the team finally made it to GZ, a quick spot of the hide was made and an equally quick retrieval of the log. Nice one in the cache - a good hide here, plenty of effort gone into it. No trouble in this case making the find, retrieving log and signing and replacing it. Good one, all good here and thanks for the cache.

10-Apr-18
Quick find. Loved the cache.

07-Apr-18
Well it turns out that there ARE things I won't do when looking for a cache... including putting my hand in 'there'. When we arrived at GZ I immediately said to 'The Mr'... I wonder if it's in there and he said 'nah won't be'... so we looked around and then came back and I said again... 'wonder if it's in there'... to which 'The Mr' picked up a stick and gave it a little tap... and then decided to tap again... and then decided that maybe it was in there after all... now I'm wishing that I'd been a whole lot braver. TFTC

01-Apr-18
Great cache! Knew to expect some weird stuff, and was not disappointed. FP for creativity!

01-Apr-18
I spotted the cache at GZ, but michaelteacher sacrificed his hand. Cool cache! Tftc Smile

24-Jan-18
While looking for puzzle caches a detour took us to this one, great cache

24-Jan-18
Quick location and sign of this well designed and constructed cache...these type of placement bring a smile to my face thanks Brennas an easy fav here
