Quick find with Nibletricecakes, KrispyStrips and k8tybee on our Road to Esperance trip.
After 4 weeks and over 13,000 Km travelling around in Western Australia, FeatherWaite and I were headed back to Adelaide, picking up the odd cache along the way to break up the journey. We made a slight detour to find this cache and another one nearby.Cache and contents were in good condition. Thanks Tk2 for the cache.
Found with e.gregory1 on our way back to Adelaide after a trip to north-western Western Australia for the last four+ weeks. Thanks for the cache Tk2!
Found it! Thanks to a clue further down saying along the fence line, its actually not really hidden. Container is very damaged and needs to be replaced, pencil also blunt.
Found on our way past today heading from Cleve to Pt Germein. Sure is an Aussie icon, good stuff. Took a bit of a look before the cache was found. Cheers.
Find #6252 on 5 Jul 2023.

On our travels we stopped to grab this cache, it took us a few minutes but soon had the log signed after reading previous logs, thanks for placing it
Found with tassie expat while passing through this nice area.
Only in Australia hey. Cache took us longer than expected as the area is covered in oxalis weed, but found eventually on the road side of the fence. Thanks for giving us a reason to stop here, crikeys, it's pure Oz.

Wow! What a strange sight down a back road. Even that couldn't miss a mozzie. Took a bit to find the cache. Once a previous log indicated distance from gz, it was easier. Fav pt for being an Aussie icon. Lid starting to show signs of weathering...may not last a wet season. TFTC
On a big road trip to Perth - Brim, Paruna, Murray Town, Kooma View Farmhouse, Penong, Nullarbor Roadhouse, Mundrabilla Roadhouse, Caiguna Roadhouse, Norseman, Kalgoorlie and Wave Rock. Currently staying in Murray Town and today we did a side trip to Port Germein and saw this cache with a few favourites. We decided to check it out and we weren't disappointed. The cache was a quick easy find but we had to be aware of all the bullants nearby so as to not get bitten. TFTC and bringing us here to show us an Aussie Icon. TNLN.
Had a Podiatrist appointment in Port Pirie and decided to collect some caches on my way home.
Magnificent piece of artwork and definitely wouldn’t want to be slapped. TFTC

Today we did a tourist drive around the area, exploring new roads and places, finding a cache a town, walking to places which all easily filled in the day. Cool icon here. TFTC
Looks like the brief warm weather had gone and rain ️ is in the way so we are out with iluvtrekking grabbing finds while we can remain dry. Thanks Tk2
Another cache found with richlink on our 2022 South Australian Adventure.
Good one! We are enjoying our time travelling SA. Fantastic towns, ruins, beaches and cliffs. Thanks to all the COs for taking us on a geo-guided tour.

Definitely wouldn't want to get slapped by that! Thanks for bringing us here it was a bit of fun.
Well slap me silly, what on earth is this icon doing out here? A fun location today. TFTC

I came and searched. I couldn’t find anything. I then read some logs, but still couldn’t find anything (or either of the caches mentioned). I’m not sure where they were out, but there doesn’t appear the be anything where the GPS says. Maybe with all the swapping and changing the cache has moved off elsewhere. The CO may want to check this one anyway, even with the suggestions previously that it didn’t need to be.
WOW! That's great. What a gem .
Is the icon supposed to be the HQ or the thong - or both [?].

Thanks again Tk2. This is why we geocache . . . [^].

Well it’s 2021 and I have finally said good bye to a not so great 2020 and it was great to finally be able to have a reasonable holiday as I have not had a decent break since 2019.
Made to South Australia and finally crossing the boarder and then being greeted by a couple of very friendly SA police offices for which i had the official paper work to allow me to enter.
After making my way west along the Eyre Hwy I went as far as Penong and the Eyre Hwy which I have not travelled along since the late 70’s when I was on a holiday with my folks and this was the last holiday before I started full time work as a sparkie and finding a few caches as I go.
Geocaching when towing a van is not always easy and I have to be a bit selective on which ones I decide to try and find for safe parking purposes especially along busy highways.
So then it was down to the Eyre Peninsula to see the sites down there Venus Bay, Coffin Bay National Park and Lincoln National Park were some highlights and I will come back again to have a better look around.
So after nearly 2 weeks spent on the Eyre Peninsula it was time to start heading back to Victoria but another lockdown in Vic has just occurred so now to change my plans again.
So Port Germaine was my next target for the night.
Another morning spent driving in the rain as I have not had the best weather on this trip what ever happened to summer.
The rain has stopped and as I have rounded the the bay and heading back down south the weather is beautiful on this side of town.
I have finally reached my destination for the night which is Port Germein so time to set up.
Another nice day is beaconing so I did the pier walk early which in my mind I had walked half way to Whyalla by the time I got to the end.
So now to tackle some caches around the town then widen my search area.
Dirt road travelling and I came across not one but 2 Aussie icons but the main one would be everybody’s favourite in my guess.
A great attention to detail with this one as well including the plugs on the bottom.
I consolidated both caches into one so hopefully no confusion going forward.
Added my name to the log and on to the next one.
Definitely a fav goes out to you for this one.
Thanks Tk2TFTC.

During our new years break, [@jesswrigley](http://coord.info/PRNW59T) and I headed to the Eyre Peninsula to travel around the various coastal towns. We started the trip with Jeep trouble, but then continued in our alternative vehicle without 4WD to stick to the main tourist roads where possible. We travelled south-west to Tumby Bay and Port Lincoln via Whyalla, Cowell, Cleve, Arno Bay; west across to Coffin Bay; and then north-west to Streaky Bay and Ceduna via Elliston, and Venus Bay. We then headed back east staying in Kimba via Poochera, Wudinna, Lock, and Darke Peak.
Today, [@jesswrigley](http://coord.info/PRNW59T) and I finished our trip by driving from Kimba back to Adelaide via Nurioopta. We made a short stop at Port Augusta, and then travelled back south via Augusta Highway, and then left just after Lochiel through Balaklava, Owen, Hamley Bridge, Freeling, and Daveyston. We made it to Geostuff's 10th birthday celebration event, before finishing out our day completing the Adventure Labs in the area.
I had wondered why this geocache had so many Favourite Points, and so it was worth a short detour just off the highway. We arrived and instantly laughed at the famous Australian icon. I noted that past logs had mentioned about the condition of the cache, and so I walked to GZ to find the cache reasonably quickly, and the cache container and logbook were in good shape. With no Owners Maintenance notes, I wondered if a secret mission had been conducted to fix up the container recently. I also thought this wasn't found too often going by the small number of names in the logbook.
I then had a closer look at the icons, to then discover a very dilapidated pill bottle at the base of the thong. Inside there was quite clearly a geocaching logbook with various names. So it seems there have been two cache containers here. I didn't have time to combine the contents of the pill bottle, and so placed that container back with the new container at GZ, so at least that clears up this confusion, and this cache shouldn't see any more NM logs. Thanks Tk2 for the cache placement and ongoing maintenance. A Favourite Point from me, for this quirky location!
Note that this geocache was logged with the *Team Warren* Davidwazza/jesswrigley stamp.

Nice solo caching day.
Found some great caches, good containers, superb views, workouts, climbs, drivebys, old caches...
and a few mint tins too!
Kept going into the night and early next morning too.
What a great way to show which drive way is yours. Good thing it's an aussie one, not a yank one!!!
Fav for another great place worth seeing!

Wow what a fantastic piece of art.......definitely an Aussie icon. TFTC. Personal message sent to inform owner of some maintenance needed and done.
Unexpected stay in pirie was a good excuse to grab a few local caches. This one was not what we expected out here. Added a new log sheet so plenty of room for the next finders, fave.TFTC!
We stumbled upon this great cache while exploring the ranges. Wow are we glad that we did. It's an amazing Aussie icon!
The log is full and we didn't have any spares on us sorry so maybe some maintenance is required

Owl was heading home after the best caching trip ever. Her GPS had decided it wasn't going to show any caches, so she was relying on the car GPS, the cache page and lat & long to find caches. Surprising, there was only one DNF. This was it. Did enjoy a conversation with a local about the icon though.
Day 9 of the Perth to Adelaide trip with Barnzy12
On the homeward journey now and stopped in here to find this cache has filtering the list to top favourites in the area as there are simply just too many options out here.
Have a favourite point
We were lucky enough or unlucky enough to have one of the warmest streaks or weather in Adelaide in April ever with the temp above 33 for 3 consecutive days. On the peninsula it was up to 37 for the best part of the day.
Tk2 We found your cache Aussie Icon thanks for placing this power trail for myself and others to find. It’s large scale trails like this that we have travelled for.

Day 9 of BarnZy and Cravo’s trip from Perth to Adelaide.
Today we left our accomodation on Warooka, a little later due to chasing some FTFs on the Yorke Peninsula late last night and one even into the early morning.
Our plans today was to complete the last of the Gone Fishing trail and travel via some of the country towns of the Yorke peninsula on our way up to Port Augusta where we are staying tonight.
Had a great morning getting right into the rhythm of powertrail caching, and managed to knock over the last of the trail in relatively quick time given we were a bit weary from the last two huge days on the Peninsula chasing some massive numbers.
Overall a great days caching, we really love caching in the country towns, travelling the highways of the country. Thanks to the local COs for their hides.

Veni. Vidi. Vici. Scripsi.
Had finished working nearby and on the way back to the main highway just had to detour and have a look at the Ausie Icon.
What an amazing piece of work. Anyway, started the search around where the GPS was pointing but was coming up with nothing. So while heading for the obvious GZ I read some other logs which also indicated that the GZ was a long way off. Found the cache in the last place I looked. Cache container needs maintenance and the log is pretty full. Managed to squeeze in a bgmat.
Great location.

Out and about with my muggle girlfriend PrincessBec on our way to The Bridle 4x4 Track and decided to make a few stops here and there and grab a few caches. Was the perfect day and the weather was so glorious.

Hi there Tk2.
We found your cache **"Aussie Icon"** at 10:26:00 AM today. (This makes our find count 16083).
Our trek today took us from Gladstone to Port Germein via the "next closest" route as determined by our GPS. On our trek we found a variety of container types. We ended up finding 7 caches with 0 DNF's.
Thanks for placing this cache here, without geocaching as our guide we would never have found so many interesting places on our travels.
**Coordinate Accuracy:** We found the cache around 13m from where the GPS said we should be looking.
**Cache Condition:** The container is broken and appears to have been placed on private property
**Took:** Nothing.
**Left:** A Smiley Badge.
Thanks for the hunt today,
Regards
Ian & Penny.

Out today with Magic [8] heading north from Adelaide towards the “Bridle Track” east of Port Germein.
Hoping to travel a few TB’s through the Southern Flinders Ranges and collect as many little Yellow smiling faces as we can on this rainy and showery day.
We thank you for placing this cache as we have had a ball. Have placed random Pathtags today for others to find, maybe this one is one that will have a little extra for the next finder.

Day Six of the WA road trip with BettyBoo3747. Today we left Adelaide and travelled to Whyalla, grabbing a few challenges on the way..
We were trying to work out what the icon might be as we drove down the dusty roads towards GZ, but neither of us guessed this!
Very cute.
Thanks, Robmc.

# 7620. Back on the road again with Robmc after a few days in Adelaide and heading to Whyalla today. We hoped to collect a few caches on the way.
Had been reading a few logs whilst at Port Germain and had no idea what the icon might be so had a bit of a chuckle when we drove up. Went and had a look before realising GZ was back outside the fenceline and it was easily spotted. Now back to the bitument and onwards.
Thanks Tk2

An awesome place to put a cache. We cache in thongs all the time which in a lot of the terrain around here is probably not a very sensible idea.
This is so realistic even down to the ripples underneath.
It's probably only cachers and those locals in the know that are even aware of this icon.
Thanks, a favourite point for making us detour out here.
