Headed out on a 10-day trip to outback NSW with fitzy_1965 and albida33.

Day 7 saw us heading from Wentworth to Balranald. In logs, we signed as MK, F65 & A33.

This one took a bit of finding. First we found the lid, then the log, then the remains of the container. Had a spare container so replaced.

21,558. Found with minniek and albida33 during our September Outback Adventure Tour.

Day 7 - Finished caching around Wentworth, then drove across to Balranald. Last stop for the day. With time for one more cache we headed up this way and parked nearby. With knowing looks from people out the front of the pub we found first the lid, then the chopped up remains of a sistema container, then a log lying on the ground. This cache deserves to continue on so we replaced the container with another sistema container with the old log still in it. Thorny hide.

Thanks lynnie7267 !!

This was a interesting cache find, our main goal being mungo national park, but it was already 4pm, rains about and the sun setting quickly, so this had to be a quick find. So I went hunting and gps led me to the cairn in front of homebush hotel, however a sole gentleman came out and directed me about 15m to a set of bushes in a old truck tyre. He was most likely the owner, and without his guidance I wouldn’t have found cache. Bingo, cache found but with our hast we pushed on without stopping for a yarn or drink as we only have 2 weeks to circumnavigate NSW. Tftc

As we wander the great land seeing the sights, this is one of the caches we have done.

Thanks to lynnie7267 for placing the cache for us to find.

Was great to stop off and find this cache. A good highlight to the area with a character filled pub nearby. We thought being all the way out here that it would be a quiet little pub with just the local bar flies, boy were we wrong. Not long after we pulled up (and thankfully had found this cache) two cars fulls and a bus came and filled the pub! Thanks for placing this here and highlighting the area!

On the way to lake Mungo on 9/10 stopped and looked.... was I too tied to the clear GPS indication and hence didn't widen my search a little?? Did meet a very friendly pooch whose tail gave my back a good pat pat as I searched.

7212 Located by baby&Mrs gopher at 1100. After a yarn with the publican who was out doing a bit of tidying at the front of the hotel and being a bit early for a beer and lunch it was time to SL. The co-ords took us to the middle pepper tree. Had a look and started to widen search. The container is in good condition and we made the new log book a little smaller to fit inside.
At lunch we met a couple who were waiting for vehicle parts and the conversation turned to why we were at the location. Michelle pricked up her ears with interest. They are now geocachers with the name RoShellz and this is their first find.

Our very first find by new cachers "The Glampers" with Team Boomajarril. We tried the day before with no luck. So we came back after sleeping on it overnight. With trepidation and at the same time excitement we came back today. After a good red at the pub, a chat by the fire we tried again. After checking all possibilities we determined that it was missing. Mentioning to the new pub owner, who wasn't aware of the cache, he came out soon after with the cache in hand. "Is this it?" Some kids had handed it in recently.

So we found some paper as the log was missing, replaced and hid the cache where it should have been.

Our first find, and our first (re)hide too at the same time. Now we might keep going with caching ourselves?

At the Honebush pub at 10:40. A nice clean find in a logical spot. Then went over to the pub for a beer and a chat with Phil but Phil had left 5 years earlier. The barman/chef wasn't that chatty so looked at all the memorabilia. TFTC

During our search, we attracted the attention of the hotel managers and they came out to see what we were up to. They told us that the previous owner (who gave permission) left a long time ago. They hadn't heard of geocaching, but were quite excited when we found the cache - until then they may have been a bit doubtful about our story. I read them the cache description. I got the impression they are happy to have the cache there.

After a few days in Mungo the Homebush Hotel was a welcome site, we called in for a cold beer and a Burger before looking for the cache. GZ presented us with two likely options, but no find. Then as we were about to give up I noticed a plastic bag on the grass about 10mts from GZ. Sure enough inside was the cache.... Unsure which of the two likely hiding places to put it back in we went back in inside and asked for Tracy or Sam only to get blank stares from the staff at the bar. So back outside and hid it where I think it should have been.....

South Australia 2013 with Sol de Lune. We headed off on 12/4 and arrived home on 28/4. The trip was to visit the SA series so more time could be spent at the Mega itself next year. We did a huge variety of caching around Murray Bridge, the Mid North, Yorke Peninsula and Whyalla Region. Apart from one wet night and two wet days we were able to spend heaps of time caching.

This was a bit of a detour, but we could not ignore one so early in the trip.

Thanks.

Loved the look of this pub....pity we were here early in the morning and not early in the evening......photo attached.

Grabbed with albida on day 1 of our 2 week caching run from Canberra to, and around, different parts of South Australia including Loxton, Murray Bridge, Tailem Bend, Yorke Peninsula and around to Whyalla before heading home via Broken Hill, Cobar and Parkes. We completed a few power trails and left a couple to do when in the area again for next years Mega event.

Overall a great many different styles and types of caches found. A great time was had caching for 16 days straight as well as camping along the way. Thanks for adding to the fun with this cache.

Another cache for today while travelling in a roundabout way on the way to Swan Hill to visit friends but caching does come first so why not do some before we visit them. Geodad knew this area well as he has carted firewood by the Truck the load back to SA. Bit surprised to find the log book empty not a name in site, but a nice old Pub nearby so had to stop for a drink with finding this one, after travelling 580kms to gain FTF. This is our first FTF in NSW. TFTC
