Mrs RoddyC and I were out in the Barcaldine Region for a week, in the company of youngoldfella, planning for the ACGM next year. Today we are on the final leg home.

Saw this was disabled but had a look. Yep, unfortunately damaged but still quite usable. The lid is detached but fits tightly enough. We put in a new log sheet and zip bag. Good enough to be enabled again, CO.

Log signed and replaced. Found at 1.20pm on 30th July 2017. TFTC, Gotcha_Team.

We will be performing maintenance on this cache, once it has been refurbished the Bush Turkey hide will be reactivated.

Was passing by with Fangsoki and decided to make the short stop for this one. Quickly found. Container not so good though, would look better with a lidWink. Loved the ye olde shoppe across the wagonway ... really felt like we'd stepped back fifty years in time.
Thanks for placing this cache, Gotcha_Team. No turkeys were harmed in the signing of this logbook.
Cool *{Overall find #5285}* Cool

Pprime wanted to see fit that I actually found *something* today - we decided to drop in on this one after visiting Valley View.

Well it wasn't where I thought it was when we turned up as Pprime guided toward GZ. Ahh well yes there it is indeed.

I do have to agree with Jess & Caro - this one does need some love. I had a mint tin - but it wasn't disguised.. and nor was it quite the same size as this one. We signed the log and re-hid the cache upside down to protect it somewhat from the elements.

Thank you for giving us a reason to stop - and to check out the old store over the road. It was established in 1908 - nearly as old as Pprime Razz

Found with Mum as 'Jess & Caro'. She is now Carø and I now have my own geocaching profile so we are sorting my logs for caches we found together. TFTC!

Great little find. Tfc

Found this one today while out and about with Ranibaskale. What a picture-perfect day today was, and hardly anyone about. Popped into the shop over the road for a takeaway coffee, and had a great chat with the lady there. Her two dogs and parrot were also quite vocal. And cute.

Thanks for this cache, however it is in dire need of maintenance.

This geocacher reported that the container is damaged.
The container is damaged, lid has broken off so does not seal, the log is wet and bag is not waterproof. The entire cache pretty much needs to be replaced.

Loved this park and its monument. Our eldest son is always told he is related to turkeys and has a running joke whenever see bush turkeys. So he got to get up close to this distant cousin. TFTC a favourite for us.

A day out was planned with Slow Puncture to find as many of Queensland's oldest caches as possible in a single day trip around the Darling Downs today.

We passed through Ravensbourne, Crows Nest, Carbalah, Meringandan, Kingsthorpe, Goombungee, Haden and Yarraman on our adventure, finding 8 oldies and a total of 26 caches during the 540 km drive Cool.

An easy find here was made difficult by a pair of muggles having lunch in direct view of GZ Sad. So we put on an act while taking lots if photos of the orchids and the cool time capsule monument. Slow Puncture made the grab while I provided cover.

The container is in terrible shape. Its squished like it's been run over by a B-double. Consequently, the lid is no longer attached and the log is slimy pulp. Needs some attention by the CO or replacing by next finder if possible.

This cache is in poor condition, and makes smilie #2864 for us. Thanks **Gotcha_Team** for showing us this spot. Discover our code TGQNRV, and mention where you saw it.

Thursday. It was an early start for both Orange Crew and Slow Puncture as were out today to collect some of the Oldest and Finest as well as other caches that came along our way.

Ah! Yes, we’ve been in this area before and I thought we’d even located this cache, but since it hadn’t been logged, both O.C. and S.P. signed and replaced the log book. Was a little tricky given there was a couple sitting and eating not too far away. With a little stealth and admiration of the orchid we soon had the log signed and cache replaced. Checked out the turkey and read the info surrounding this as well. Cache container was a crushed though, but as we didn’t have a replacement cache container, replaced the one that was already there.

This was the 18th of 26 caches found on today's trip.

Thanks ***Gotcha_Team***, for showing us this place. Smile

Day two of the trip and the weather was not cop-operating. Sad No way I was going on a hike in this rain. Wink

Not too many caches about, but with our super chauffeur T-Tech, IolantheK and I were kept entertained for the day.

This was an interesting little spot. Not too hard a find to start the day. Smile

Day 2 of my camping weekend at Crows Nest Big Grin T-Tech, teamdfl and I had planned to walk out to Koonin Lookout today, but the drizzle yesterday has turned into rain today Sad and we had to change our plans Twisted Time to head out to Haden and Goombungee [^]

A quaint little park, and the monument made us laugh [^] The cache was a quick find, but I've never seen an eclipse tin so squashed! But no problems accessing the logbook. A mini-milestone for me, as it's my 7100th find Big Grin TFTC, Gotcha_Team.

We arrived early to Crows Nest for the 2016 Rural Challenge and decided to head out for a few caches while there was still daylight. This is the first for us this afternoon and it was a quick find. Actually we spotted it while picking up a poking stick to check GZ and it was on the ground. We signed the log and replaced where it originally came from. Cheers Gotcha Team - thanks for placing the cache! [^][^]

Out and about caching today, and having found our 500th cache earlier today, we decided to continue caching some more on our way home Big Grin
What a lovely little town Haden is! The kids enjoyed playing in the park (and have to admit so did the parents!)
The turkey monument was very interesting, and the cache was easy to find.
Thanks for the cache Gotcha Team, a very pleasant stop!

Not exactly the busiest place in the world Smile
But wouldn't you know it !!
Council muggles were sitting down to an early lunch in the park, so I had to do the same until they left Big Grin
Well I had nowhere else to go in a hurry today.

The statue of the Bush Turkey is a strange thing to have in a park Big Grin
I guess they don't have any Local Councilors or Prime Ministers to honour with a bronze bust Wink

The crowds soon thinned out and after a short scratch around I found the cache Big Grin

TFTC and a visit to Haden !!

Out and about with trek4ward an C Yeo Later. Thanks for bringing us to this interesting and rather odd monument! C Yeo Later found the cache loose on the ground, but we figured that it was probably meant to be somewhere a little above that. Just 'phoned a friend' who has found this one, and we think it is probably now back in the correct spot, or close to it at least. Apologies if it is not. TFTC!

Called into town on a quiet Wednesday early afternoon with misty rain falling and not a Muggle in sight, may be they were watching from behind closed doors. Looked in the wrong place first then sighted the cache in its hiding place from about 10 meters away. TFTC Gotcha Team.

After the frustrations we had with the one up the road, this one turned out to be quite an easy find. It's a lovely little spot, well-maintained and all, but a bit light-on for parking spots for the geomobile. Prolly best to park up the road a bit and walk back to GZ, lest we encroach on the kiddies play space. Sarcasm intended. TFTC Cheers, Bindair Dundat and Princess.

19-Jun-13
Nice spot, log a little damp but still clean and write-able. TFTC

What a lovely little place. Had a read of the monument and added our scribble to the log. We then walked across the road to look at the old photos at the store. What a shame all these old buildings are gone. TFTC.

26km from Home
Our first cache run for 2013
After turning back for home to get the bag of tent pegs we left in the garage, we arrived here about an hour later than planned. Took a little time for the phone to settle down but we soon made a very sneaky find as there as a muggle family enjoying an ice-cream in the park.
We took nothing but memories and left nothing but our tag and footprints
The hide is in good condition, the container is in good condition and the log is in good condition.
Thanks for the cache Gotcha_Team.

This one came through just before lunch yesterday and it is only about 20 K's from home but celebrating New Year with friends Hahn and Jack D, meant that it was not the best time to go driving. FTF would have to wait. I put this on my watchlist just to see who might head out on New Years day.

Nothing came through all afternoon or evening so I checked again this morning and still no FTF. I still had some work to do around the house before it got hotter so again, I thought FTF would go to another worthy soul. Mid morning and still not FTF.

A quick shower, grab the gear and off.

On the first pass, there were four council vehicles across from the shop and a couple of muggles sitting in the shade I just kept going to Lest We Forget. I would be coming back this way on the way home anyway.

Found Lest We Forget so came back on pulled up in the shade to log that find. While I was waiting, three of the council vehicles left. Went and got a coke and prepared to wait for the last council vehicle and muggles to move on. While I was waiting, I took a stroll through the area of the cache and as luck would have it, strategic placement of trees, building, and shed meant that I could grab the cache without anyone seeing. Bonus!

Another FTF. My second.

TFTC.

Noticed this one last night and as Haden is only a 140Klm round trip from home decided to do it toaday on the last of my rostered days off for this roster line. I had it at S27 13.483 E151 53.051. My GPSr wanted me over the fence but thanks to the additional hint the hide was not too difficult to find. very busy little spot to park at 0940 with the locals coming for their milk papers and mail. Very neat and tidy little park TFTC
