Hello pipedream,After last night's successful kiwi watching, it was time for a good night's sleep today. After a hearty breakfast, DrDonna and I set off to look for a few more tins on the island before the ferry back in the afternoon. We were very successful and managed to find most of the caches we visited. After the crossing, we visited "Stirling Point" where we found a slightly older can and an earth cache before heading to Invercargill for our second event of our vacation. There we were delighted to meet many new faces and chat about our favorite hobby and traveling through New Zealand. Liebe Gre und vielen Dank fr die Hege und Pflege deines Traditional Cache! -moge-#############Der Cache "Pipedream's Fuchsia Walk (Stewart Island)" von "pipedream" war fr mich Cache 6695. We just arrived at the Stewart island lodge and are going for a walk around the area and also visit a few caches. This one was found quickly, thanks for posting
What a gorgeous wee walk! Another clever hide. Might incorporate this idea back in Australia! Tftc
One day on Stewarts Island: it was raining the whole day and the ride with the ferry was quite bumpy. But finding caches works with any weatherFund Nr. 1373
If only the fushias had been in bloom! It is still a beautiful track, thank you x
Have travelled to Rakiura for the day to perform at Halfmoon Bay School, and decided to go for a walk to retrieve this cache. This is my performance team's first hunt together. TFTC
Found it while on vacation from WI USA. Log was too wet to sign. Needs maintenance. TFTC
On our 20 day hiking experience on the South Island were got to stay on the Island. Lots of tree and greenery damage. Log book very very wet. Needs maintenance. Greetings from Australia.
Arrived in Stewart Island this morning. Picked up a few caches during a reasonable walk before being able to check in to the hotel. Dull day but dry. Some very nice scenery around the place. Took a brief moment to locate this one. #7243. TFTC.
TFTC Thank you for hiding this cache. You have shown us a new place and have helped make geocaching an enjoyable activity. Excellent hint.
Second of 2 caches found this afternoon in a break in the rain. We first found the Forest Giant and then went back across the field to find this cache. It was one we had been looking forward to finding and it didn't disappoint. We had found the same sort of hide earlier in the trip which did help us get an instant findThanks

I had a zero point GZ but after reading the logs, I realized I too, was at the wrong bridge eventually made the quick find TFTC
A few days on SI including 2 on my own as the rest of the group do the Rakiura walk. I headed down this pretty walk and soon found the cache in its nifty hiding spot. Lovely spot here amongst the bush and the birdsong. Fav for the hide and the lovely walk. TFTC!
We arrived on Stewart Island last Sunday with a group of tramping friends and have walked the Rakiura Track and then flew to Mason Bay, walking to Freshwater Hut and taking the water taxi back to Oban today. We saw one kiwi on the Great Walk and Im hoping to see more here. We are staying in a house quite close to here so wandered from the top to the bridge where I soon found the cache - a very clever type of container which I saw at Lee Bay. Unfortunately the logbook is very wet but I was able to sign it. It needs a good drying out. I put it in a plastic bag but it could do with a better one. Tftc
Short walk after preaching at the Presbyterian Church this morning unfortunately, logbook is very wet
I spent a short time in Oban this afternoon and had time to find this cache and two others. I entered the trail from the park above and made my way down. As I neared the coordinates I spied a bridge and spent some time on my knees looking under it until I realized it was the wrong bridge. I made my way further down trail and found the correct bridge, along with the cache exactly where it was supposed to be. The logbook was somewhat damp, but I was able to sign and date it. I traded items, leaving a purple flamingo and taking what I thought was a pathtag. I realized later that it was actually a geocoin so I will move it along. TFTC along a beautiful little trail.
Our first cache in Stewart Island. Got it just after checking in to the hostel.Nice little walkway TFTC

Thanks! I like the container. I am just coming back from a boat trip and didnt have a pen so will attach a photo instead. Greetings from Canada.
We spent two nights on Stewart island during our trip through New Zealand. The day in between we explore Oban and its surroundings by going from cache to cache. We started at the memorial in the harbor and ended our route at Wohlers rest. We tried to time our walk for one of the nuggets, but even at low tide, the water was still too high (and cold!). Most of these traditionals were easy to find. Lucky for us, because we were chased by a horde of sandflies. Thanks to all the COs for placing and maintaining the caches!
Found while taking a spontaneous walk after being at Olva Island. May need a new log as the one we found was soaked
2nd find for the day, still waiting for flight, log a bit wet, didn’t have a bag to put it in, hopefully next cacher more organised than me. TFTC
A quick stroll down the path for this one, and not too hard to find. Didn't see any fuchsias though. Beautiful bush. Thanks for the cache.
Quick grab while waiting for the plane. Pays to remember which street you came in on
walking back from the ferry terminal having spent the day on Ulva island, I stopped to do the fuchsia walk cache. Found easily, but forgot my pen so I have taken a photo. Thanks very much.

Today is Ulva Island! What a special place... Now back on Stewart Island, I came back via the Fuschia walk. I had to wait for a couple of muggles to pass over before doing a u-turn to collect this cache and drop off a TB.
TFTC Whitemoose_, the cache was found in good order Signed, sealed and returned to GZ. 8 find(s) of 9 today, making this find #3786

This was a lovely walk down from the new helipad. A fantail was pleased we were disturbing small flying insects for it to catch.
+ a FP and a marble, - nothing.

Found this nice walk while exploring on my way back to our accommodation after grabbing some supplies from the 4square. TFTC.
This walk starts from outside our motel and it has a cache on it so how could we resist.
What a lovely, peaceful place. We enjoyed the sound of birdsong and all the nicely decorated traps along the way.
Once at GZ the cache was quickly located and we loved the inventive way it was hidden.
Thanks pipedream for bringing us here.

What, more steps, said Jan! We walked past too as I wasnt looking at the gps but we came back and found the hide. Lots of birds in the bush here. A couple of tui swooped me at speed as we exited the track. Nearly as bad as magpies! Tftc.

All credit goes to pipedream who placed this cache in a lovely bush walk, a fabulous legacy. Thoughts of dropping some TBs from my swag bag bound for an Aussie Mega soon...yeah nah just a visit will do
Ruru-NZ and I are on Stewart Island doing the Geotour caches as a priority but any others found are a bonus for me. Followed on from the other track and doing Forest giant. Didn’t see any bird life on this side but heard them.
