We found the quandongs easy enough, but took quite a while to find the cache. Left some US coins all the way from SoCal. TFTC!!
Southern Autumn adventure Day 60. Mildura Trip Day 9. The time had come to start heading home, but I did not want to go directly and was keen to visit Echuca to finish the River Travel Adventure labs. It turned into a long day and it started with some detours as I started south to get my first batch of caches done. Then I set out following the navigation device and let me say, it is not the way I would have gone, there were some very narrow roads, but no dirt. I then passed a county I had not been to before, but missed the Map section I needed, that was annoying. My day ended with a walk around Echuca for a few caches and the LABs along the water front. It was well and truly dark by the time I reached my roadside camp for the night.
This was my biggest detour along this road, and I was happy to find all but one along here.
Thanks for the cache Mebclever

A quick find on a very busy Easter weekend. This area brings back some memories as I caught the school bus back in the day only a stones throw away.
Beautiful stretch of river. Cache was a bit smaller than expected but still found it no worries. Thanks
Day 22 of our southern trip. Heading into blues area to pick up an LGA. Very hot here today. Don't need to run around in the sun. Caching around Mildura and Red Cliffs in readiness for doing the Paddle Steamer geoart.

We had left Mildura and were heading towards our next campsite, or so we thought. We didn't realise that there was no road that was 2WD that went through Hattah Kulkyne National Park towards Wemen. We could certainly think of worse places to head than this area. It is so peaceful and quiet out here. We left the main road and then jumped out of the geomobile to find this cache. We were happy it was a cool day as this would be a place that you would need to tread carefully in warmer weather. After a bit of searching we spied the cache and then signed the log (funny how you never sign the log then spy the cache). The cache was in excellent condition. Thank you for this cache Mebclever
A very quick drive by.
We are thinking that this is a Quandong orchard across the road... sure fits the bill.
Now we can’t wait to eat our first apple and Quandong pie.

TFTC. We had come to Mildura for a few days escape from being travel restricted. We were to meet good friends muff1 but as they would not be here until lunchtime, we went out caching.
A Cold windy morning, at least it was not raining.

We spent our last day in Mildura, close to the river which we love, converting previously "DNF'd" caches, such as this one to smiley tokens on our map.
We were a little miffed about the "nice little track"!
Our thanks to 'Mebclever' for adding this cache to the geo-gameboard.

Wouldn't quite call this cache a regular maybe a small (at a push) quick outing while waiting for the trees to dry out before work - TFTC
I don't believe that I have ever tasted quondongs but GT37 has had them. She knew a little about them, that being that they are one of the sandalwoods and that they are parasitic. It is great that caching teaches us new things and opens conversations. Thanks for the cache, shame there was no fruit at the time of our visit.
This is a fruit that I haven't seen for a very long time. Shame that there weren't any ripe ones here for us today. Thanks for the cache.

Change of scenery today as we head south-east towards Swan Hill.
I’d never heard of quandongs until now.

The geocaching holiday continues with OzHockeyChick, Papi4506 & GeoTurtle37. A week so far of firsts, milestones, learning and plenty of laughs!
Final cache for the day and a quick but scratchy find. Time to do the 2hrs driving we were supposed to have done at 10am this morning
Thanks Mebclever for placing the hide!

Geomum and boy went caching. Great spot, laughing kookaburras enjoyed us being there. Tftc
Suscoe was heading to Mildura this morning from Ouyen and we had a number of caches to visit as we travelled northwards.
It was a delightful day, blues skies, a breeze from time to time and a top temperature in the high 20's.
We enjoyed this section of caches hides and saw some interesting country as we headed along the highway and the byways.
Thanks to Mebclever for this hide, found our way to GZ and soon had cache in hand.
All good here today.

We spent quite a deal of time with this cache. We hunted around for about 10 minutes, finding some things of interest but not an intact cache. Then after a while we found the logbook on the ground in leaf litter. It was the correct logbook because it was headed correctly and contained the logs of many, including the most recent finders. Then we relooked at some of the things we had discarded and after reading the cache description again, we were able to unite the logbook with the container. It appears that the container had fallen from its hide and had split open when it hit the ground. So we replaced the cache in an elevated position where we think it should have been but a check by the CO would be in order. Thanks Mbeclever for the cache.
Out on a day caching. Found the tree that stood out. Was fooled by the container size as it's smaller than a regular. Good hide! TFTC
No quondongs growing on this old tree, lots of other trees and saplings nearby. 3 of us wandered around for a couple of minutes and then Mary made the find after Mark read out Mebclever's CO's note about the replacement cache.
We dropped off a fellow South Australian's trackable here.

In the area for the Nangiloc stress less fishing comp for the long weekend. Got up at 5am and found this on the way out fishing for the day. Read the logs and seen it goes missing a bit took us awhile to find but eventually we had cache in hand all is good replaced as found. Set off for another awesome day fishing even winning lots of prizes in the comp. TFTC #1353
After 4 DNF's on this one, we did our maintenance run today and Yes it has disappeared ( again.) We have replaced it with a Black Small cylinder same co-ords just a bit up. Happy caching everybody.

We looked high, we looked low, we looked in, we looked out, but today there was no way we could work this 'Regular' 2.0/2.0 out!
**Note to CO:** With 4 DNF's perhaps this one needs to be checked plesae.
Thanks for the hunt anyway Mebclever.

Touring around the Mildura area on roads less traveled collecting caches as we go. TFTC
We replaced this cache container today on our maintenance run checking containers and log books. The container is still a Regular but now a peach container.
Found It!
The last 20m to this one was a bit of a challenge but I found my way in. The cache container has seen better days and probably needs replacing.

Found while taking a different road home this morning, we managed to make this one a quick park and grab after a short walk through the bush, even found some old oyster shells? The cache was soon located and logged, the container though needs some attention as the lid is slightly broken. Tftc Mebclever and for highlighting the mighty quondong.
While travelling to Mildura for a friend's wedding, we wandered around the state looking at some interesting things, and caching. This was one we found. tftc.
My birthday cache find. Getting quite overgrown now. Could be quite snaky in warm weather.
Muggle partner and I were very generously given the opportunity to accompany Moneydork and Tounga to Mildura for the weekend, to attend 2 events
Saturday morning we left Berri and returned there Sunday night. Between that, I found 44 caches , attended the 2 events and had 6 DNFs
According to muggle partner, it was a great weekend I asked if he was now enjoying geocaching and he said 'no. The weekend was just good around the caching!'
Some awesome caches were found and some great people were hugged, met and spoken with
My grandfather used to make Chinese Checkers game boards from wood and use the seeds of the Quondong as the game tokens
I've also had Quondong leather, which is very tasty [^]

In Mildura for a few day of resting and relaxing. Today was a sight seeing and geocaching day. Out for a drive around the area, exploring and caching. Last cache of the day.
Sorry for the slow log.

Found this cache last weekend with Lord Rossatron - Nice walk with the river view. Very Pretty. Found the cache signed it off before it began to get dark, and set off on our trip to Ouyen ha.
Managed to go the most awkward way possible to get to this cache. but quickly signed it and off to find a couple more before it started to get dark.
We have returned from Canada to discover a few more Australian caches! What a great way to explore the Land Down Under" ...
Didn't find any quondongs on the tree for picking, must be the wrong time of year. But we did find the cache
Thanks for the fun Mebclever!

Heading up to Mildura for the Annual Port to Port Bicycle Ride Weekend and done some caching along the way. Had to take a detour off the main road to grab these few caches as we were heading into Mildura.
Walked though all the bushes to locate this one. Guess they were Quondong bushes and trees as we have never seen them before or even tried them.

Found with Tyred n Cranky
Once again out annual trip to Mildura so that Tyred n Cranky can enjoy their other hobby, bike riding, and in the annual event of the Port to Port.
As normal a rout was set out so that we could make some finds along the way up.
A bit of a walk through the bushes and found the cache out in the open. Hid it back to where I think it should be sitting.

After 2 previous attempts we stamped this one , be careful seen a long thin brown local close in the grass . TFTF
I stopped here by the Murray to take in the views, listen to the harmony of the irrigation pumps and find a cache
A short stroll from a convenient parking spot, had me at a bushy spot.
I strolled around for a bit more to find a trail into the thicket
Inside I soon discovered the thicket consisted of Quandong trees
Me timing was bad though
The Quandongs have fruit on them, but they are still green.
Visit here in a few months and there will be a heap of bright red fruits to be plucked
TFTC !!

Because of the cache spot my daughter learnt what a Quondong tree looks like and how one tasted.
This one took us a while to work out what we were doing as it was our first. Came back next day and found it! Addicted Geomum and Geokids. Thanks

Today was the second day of my holiday, heading to Broken Hill from Ouyen via Mildura, ultimately heading to Port Macquarie. I picked just a number of caches to break up the journey to stretch my legs, but missed Mildura caches alltogether. I've never heard of a Quondong, but they sound interesting. Nice quick find. Thanks to Mebclever for the cache and the info.
Found with geok1 & geok3, geo dad & geok2 at work at the nearby garlic factory TFTC
This cache has been found 3 times since need maintenance logged and checked too. Just well hidden and tricky spot to find.
This was our 4th cache find in the caching run & we found it at 13:21
So this now makes our total find count 6410.
[blue]
We made this one a little too hard. We overshot GZ and headed off down a track behind the bushes, and had to squeeze our way back to the road.
[/blue]
Coordinate Accuracy: Excellent (Around 2 metres)
Cache Condition: Container and log book are in good shape.
Took: Nothing.
Left: Spider.
Thanks Mebclever for the hunt today.

Slightly surprised at the DNF's as this cache was most definitely there today. Really enjoying our wee detour along the river today, one of a few caches that lured us to the area.
