After clearing out all but three caches on the Molesworth Road between the locked gates before it closes very very soon for the season I headed home. This was the third stop along the way.
A much easier find here than the previous one. Nearly dawn. Nearly.

That was a pretty impressive chunk of limestone!! Easy find with Geomum007 on a great journey in the area. TFTH
Wow not hard to spot cache title very cool. Impressive piece and deserves a cache. Thanks for the drive thru here and the cache Hotspud.
A quick drive by here, hopefully still a public road! No barking dogs & nobody around today so found the cache & off again. Beautiful drive TFTC
Took a while to find this one but got there eventually. Nearby dogs alerted everyone that we were about but no-one came out. tftc
#15795. We really enjoyed exploring this back road. Nice views from GZ, and a quick find. TFTC.
Found with StreetWalker while travelling from Christchurch to Kaikoura for a winter weekend away.
By the time I got out of the car, and found the cache on the GPSr, SW had already found the cache. Nice hunk of limestone. TFTC.

One of my fav ways of spending a weekend day - jump into the car with a direction in mind, stopping for caches along the way, enjoying the journey. This time I piled a couple of 'kids' into the car also, and we headed to Kaikoura making the most of the road being open for the weekend and not that much traffic thanks to the Picton detour still in place. Needless to say that we never made it as far as Kaikoura, although we leaft early enough and got quite close. Try explaining that on a monday at work - where did you go over the weekend? Well, Kaikoura, but we did not quite make it there. Oh, is the road still so bad? LOL!
This side was 'much' busier that the other - two cars came past!! TFTC!!

Mum wanted to head off geocaching for the day - and I was keen too!! But a pretty useless cacher currently!! - On crutches with a moon boot on the right foot - meaning, no driving, and not really much finding for me either!
Really I was just a bum on a seat! Haha, but between mum & brother they managed to do the driving & the jumping out, so that I could just chill in the back seat most of the day! And get the find count out! Caching chauffeured style!!

Habberjam74 and I decided to spend the afternoon caching, so we headed out to Ferniehurst and had a good long drive. This looks like a nice place to live. The horses watched us recover the cache. I see the neighbouring children had found the cache, so it was sitting in the open. I replaced it and used some rocks to hide it from view. Tftc.
Awesome bike ride further into banjo picking country
Great spot you picked - stunning views

Out putting some 'run-in' kilometers on the new cachemobile. A nice P & G as I drove through this well kept farm. Thanks Hotspud.
Wondered where we were going with roads incorrect on GPS map. Soon got to the obvious! Thanks
With a few more days of holidays left we decided to head south again and find some caches we didn't have time to look for last week, plus some more off the beaten track. This was one of 51 found today.
Thank you to all CO's who made this possible.
Thank you to all CO's who made this possible.
Our recent multi day Canterbury cache raid was so successful we decided to have another one before the holidays finished. Again we got stabbed, prodded, pricked and scraped by the variety of hedges the region is so famous for. And of course we can now hold our breath a lot longer. A skill well worth developing to avoid breathing in part of the road surface every time a vehicle passes. Just over 200 finds were logged this time and a great time was had finding the caches with a variety of shapes, sizes and placements. A big thank you to all COs who made this possible.
Going through the farm here, I noticed a blue roller.. slowing down, I realized it's a machine that was made by a factory my dad used to work for back in Denmark... and it wasdesigned by.. by dad, One has to feel a little proud
Another quick find on the way out of the back roads.

[green] On my way back to Blenheim from a long, tiring two weeks at Christchurch, centred on the Mega event there. A wonderful day, beautiful blue ocean and many thanks to all the cache owners from today and the last two weeks. I went up two belt grades, found over 750 caches this month, all except 20 of which were in the last two weeks! So many thanks to all the cache owners that have made this such an awesome trip.
This limestone rock is not that big! Yet I had to circle it twice before I found the cache!

Making our way North towards home after the Christchurch Mega with tmann421.

I had parked my Mobile Travel Bug at Parnassus last night so it was off to do some of the "off the main track" caches today.
Cheers for the cache.

Having missed this one last time we were in the area it was time to locate it this time round, nice drive with sunny skies, TFTC
Somehow we managed to miss this cache on our previous visit to the area. We remedied that oversight today.
Shearing on the farm today and all the freshly shorn lambs had been released onto this road. And a couple of closed gates had to be negotiated as well. Worked our way around the farm and then made the quick park and grab.

As wee left the last cache spot we chased a few Cows along the road, (well they thought they were being chased and they keep running for there lives till the finally ran down the bank, lol they look funny running, silly ol cows) As we drove up we like others knew exactly where it was going to be. Yip. Cheers.
On our way to Kaikoura to drop off my nephew Jonny to my Uncles for the holidays and doing some caching on the way. A nice quick find here. Thanks for the cache

Right where the cache was, 2 people were walking, so explained what we were doing. Tftc
Come up to GZ on a road that wasn't on out iPhone map. Once at GZ after not seeing anyone for ages the locals across the road were walking the road. Got cache and explained to them what we were looking for.
It is always good if you do not need the Garmin to find the cache. Quick find and last cache for today, heading home now and then all the logging has to happen. Thank you for a very nice and pleasant drive. TFTC

Found during another nice walk on a farm road. I walked whole road, nice place, sheep and cows around.
This is very nice big rock, but it is slowly breaking out.

Came here on a slow day's geoaching trip between Kaikoura and Christchurch. A great example of the local geology! Found the cache quickly, signed log, TFTC
You are really right in the heart of farming action here. Had to negotiate cattle being worked. Farmer gave us "the look",.
All gates open so far. Left GPS in the car for this one. Mrs Sobad did circle to see if there were more places to check..Sobad just grabbed.
Thanks.
Thanks.
Felt a bit like we were on private property here so a quick find and then a reread the description. Thanks for the reassurance and so then we carried on. TFTC #4942
We thought this one was a long way from anywhere but the others were even more isolated. TFTC
A very enjoyable excursion on a lovely warm day, always good to take a road less traveled.

TFTC. Discovered as I follow a second trail of caches placed by Hotspud. This land is beautiful and I am getting a unique snapshot of rural farming in North Canterbury.
Thanks Hotspud.
Thanks Hotspud.
wondered if the home owner was thinking...why has he stopped...but no sign of life. came away with white hands!
A nice detour on an evening drive by on the way up to Kaikoura. NOt the most secluded spot, but managed anyway. Watch out for the stinging nettle. Thanks for the hide.

Easily found. A very hot day. Felt like I was in Australia, especially with the gum trees and their distinctive smell in the heat. TFTC.

A nice valley for a drive. Some enjoyable caching that reminded me a little of inland from Oamaru. TFTC.
