Found the cache but couldnt sign the log the cache was full of water, took a photo
After clearing out all but three caches on the Molesworth Road between the locked gates before it closes very very soon for the season I headed home. This was the second stop along the way.
This one, in torch light and darkness, took way too long. Eventually widened the search area by 10 metres and this enabled a find. So far not too muddy along here, but it is to get a lot lot worse a bit later on.

Wow! what a wonderful scenic trip we had through there! Perfect weather and such beautiful views, not a vehicle in sight! Found with Geomum007. TFTC
The last cache on todays adventure, time to get back to motorhome and our cat Coco. Had so much fun and enjoyed the scenery on these roads. Cache all good here, log signed. Thanks for this cache Hotspud.
Had to think about this one as not been found for a while & our gps was jammed! Looked around & thought aha looked & made the find! TFTC
We had to skip this one yesterday due to the grass being mowed in the area. Today we went back to a nice clear area and found the cache quickly. Dropped off a laminated TB to continue moving along. tftc
What a great location I did drive through to Ngaroma once before they had there own road. TFTH
It was after the last duck shooting weekend and a bit of time up the sleeve, so came back home via the Leader Rd and this route. Interesting place up here, I've read of it but never been here so what an excuse to do so. Thanks
#15794. It didn't take long for Troodles to locate the cache. Then we had to decide whether to continue north into the Mendip Hills station. The cache listing assured us that was OK, but a new-ish looking sign said to keep out unless you got permission. Hmmm ... what to do? In the end I rang the cell phone number on the sign, and the person I spoke to said was it OK to drive through. Whew! TFTC.
Found with StreetWalker while travelling from Christchurch to Kaikoura for a winter weekend away.
We have never had time to do this detour before while travelling north or south, but today as we were just going as far as Kaikoura, it seemed the ideal opportunity to do the scenic route.
Cache was quickly found and carefully extracted. Then we read the official and newish sign about needing permission to carry on through the farm.
After a bit of dithering, SW rang the cell phone number on the sign and we were given the OK to drive through. TFTC.

One of my fav ways of spending a weekend day - jump into the car with a direction in mind, stopping for caches along the way, enjoying the journey. This time I piled a couple of 'kids' into the car also, and we headed to Kaikoura making the most of the road being open for the weekend and not that much traffic thanks to the Picton detour still in place. Needless to say that we never made it as far as Kaikoura, although we leaft early enough and got quite close. Try explaining that on a monday at work - where did you go over the weekend? Well, Kaikoura, but we did not quite make it there. Oh, is the road still so bad? LOL!
All the gates were open, and there were not too many sheep on the road. TFTC!!

Mum wanted to head off geocaching for the day - and I was keen too!! But a pretty useless cacher currently!! - On crutches with a moon boot on the right foot - meaning, no driving, and not really much finding for me either!
Really I was just a bum on a seat! Haha, but between mum & brother they managed to do the driving & the jumping out, so that I could just chill in the back seat most of the day! And get the find count out! Caching chauffeured style!!

This was the second to last cache that we found on our tour around the farm. It wasn't quite where we expected to find it. Habberjam74 was happy when he spotted it, but managed to cut himself while recovering it. Every geocacher draws blood eventually, he just did it on his first day. Tftc.
Out putting some 'run-in' kilometers on the new cachemobile. Wasn't too fussed about the hide, but then who am I to talk having kept a cache safe from muggles in a similar location? I very much enjoyed driving this road through the middle of the farm, [^]Thanks for the cache Hotspud.
Last part of our lovely drive thanks so much for taking us on this detour from the main road, beautiful country and an easy drive.
Found with quinella- the end of our gc circuit this morning . Back to parnassus and caravan for coffee before heading through to hanmer. Tftc and the experience
With a few more days of holidays left we decided to head south again and find some caches we didn't have time to look for last week, plus some more off the beaten track. This was one of 51 found today.
Thank you to all CO's who made this possible.
Thank you to all CO's who made this possible.
Our recent multi day Canterbury cache raid was so successful we decided to have another one before the holidays finished. Again we got stabbed, prodded, pricked and scraped by the variety of hedges the region is so famous for. And of course we can now hold our breath a lot longer. A skill well worth developing to avoid breathing in part of the road surface every time a vehicle passes. Just over 200 finds were logged this time and a great time was had finding the caches with a variety of shapes, sizes and placements. A big thank you to all COs who made this possible.
Another quick find. As I logged the cache, a local farmer was herding a flock of sheep down the hill.. I waited a bit before moving on as not to scare the sheep way from his directed course .. Amazing work with the dogs here

[green] On my way back to Blenheim from a long, tiring two weeks at Christchurch, centred on the Mega event there. A wonderful day, beautiful blue ocean and many thanks to all the cache owners from today and the last two weeks. I went up two belt grades, found over 750 caches this month, all except 20 of which were in the last two weeks! So many thanks to all the cache owners that have made this such an awesome trip.
I saw the no exit sign, but with the trail of caches I decided to brave it. Not an insignificant choice, and I was nearly out of fuel by the time I got to Kaikoura. And yes, it is a through road, although I had to open a gate (and close it, of course. Always leave farm gates as you find them).

Making our way North towards home after the Christchurch Mega with tmann421.

I had parked my Mobile Travel Bug at Parnassus last night so it was off to do some of the "off the main track" caches today.
Cheers for the cache.

Last one for the day. Thanks very much for the tour. Our driver was telling us how big this farm is as he pointed to the horizon and said that those hills belonged to the farm'

Found this after CuddleBunnie had had a look and proclaimed that "there's nothing there".
Bugzptr and myself were staying at the Staging post so decided to go in the search of some caches, this was the 2nd one out of 8 for the day, a quick find after a 2nd look,
On our way to Kaikoura to drop off my nephew Jonny to my Uncles for the holidays and doing some caching on the way, of course we had to take the slightly longer way as it had more caches. A quick find in the second place we looked. We left Dageliikstellend http://coord.info/TB3ZR6V here. Thanks for the cache

There is more easy farmland in here than what we were anticipating.
+ a marble, - nothing.

Came here on a slow day's geoaching trip between Kaikoura and Christchurch. A quick find before regaining the tarseal on the Leader Valley highway. Signed log, TFTC
Enjoying a drive thru very nice farmland. They had been attending to stock earlier in the day ,consequently, got Suzi covered in crap. Easy enough.
That was a treacherous little road in the wet and with a two wheel drive. Didn't venture further than this one. best done in Summer if you don't have a four wheel drive. Great spot though and a quick and reasonably dry find. Thanks.
Pleased the listing told us this was a through road or we might not have come this way. Taking a side road to Cheviot as geocachers tend to do.
Bag outside damp but log dry.
Thanks.

Pulled up and headed to where I thought I needed to look but the GPS insisted I carry on a bit further. Lucky for me I listened to it this time. TFTC #4941
Not a place we would normally take our little car. We were assured that we would manage okay. Off we went and had a great day exploring and finding caches. TFTC
A very enjoyable excursion on a lovely warm day, always good to take a road less traveled.

TFTC. This was the first stop on my second string of Hotspud caches in one day. The road is much more tame but the countryside remains just as beautiful.
Thanks Hotspud for placing the cache.

A nice detour on an evening drive by on the way up to Kaikoura. A quick find, thanks for the hide.

Stopped here on my way north for the South Island Orienteering champs at Blenheim and Lake Rotoiti. Left Christchurch with plenty of time (ie. 9 hours to Blenheim) to detour some of the back roads and try for 50+ caches (for the bulk finding challenge of the DGSc). These new caches were perfect to help me towards that goal. It was great to explore roads I'd never been on before. Left TB. TFTC.

Enjoyed this group of caches, and happy to claim joint 2TF on them with rediguana. TFTC
