I am regretfully archiving this cache since there's been no response from nor action by the cache owner within the time frame requested in the last reviewer note.

Hi NZMamma

This geocache was brought to my attention as being in need of an owner maintenance visit and after my previous reviewer note, there has been no owner response. The cache owner needs to check on this cache ASAP and either replace it or archive it, after picking up any geo-litter. See the [maintenance section of the Geocache Listing Requirements/Guidelines](http://www.geocaching.com/about/guidelines.aspx#listingmaintenance).

I've added this cache to my watchlist, and I will check back in four weeks to be sure that the maintenance has been done. In the meantime, I have temporarily disabled this listing. When the maintenance is completed, the owner can enable the listing by clicking on the link below the cache name to return it to active status.

Whatever your intentions, please **post a note** here on the cache page (not email) to let us know that you are still active and maintaining the cache. If a month passes without seeing a response, then I'll assume that this listing should be archived.

Please note, that if a cache is archived due to lack of owner maintenance, the cache is unable to be unarchived.

With Gap (of Fap and Gap)... We were really keen to log a Leap Day Event cache and collect the souvenir, but our nearest was the camp-out at Awhitu. We have already cached in that area and wanted to use our time a bit more effectively, so we reasoned that a trip south would be worthwhile. There were three events in the Manawatu region. Road trip...

Two of us searched extensively around the flax. We lifted this and trod on that without success. For a supposed ‘easy find’ according to the logs - this one was too good. It appears that there is a growing list of DNFs. Could the CO please check?

Have driven past this one a few times. Had time to stop today, explore the raupo pond and find this cache. Signed the replacement dry log sheet. This spot certainly deserves a cache, and good to see the maintenance going on around here. The walkway paths were all freshly mown. Thanks for bringing us here NZMamma.

Made the most of a beautiful afternoon and set out to find some caches at Foxton Beach.
Have driven past this so many times and have never really noticed the extent of the Reserve.
Nice quick find for me here

I have set myself a goal to get the requirements for the mystery cache The well-rounded cacher challenge (Manawatu) This requires me to get 25 badges 5 of which need to be gemstone badges. So each time I go out caching weather it is by myself or with fellow cacher I will try to get a least one cache that will get me closer to my goal

Out today grabbing some caches with the aim of getting enough caches to get the World Turtle souvenir and also getting some caches that will help with my main goal

Thanks for the Cache

#592. After circling around the swamp & then trying an approach from the other direction, finally laid my hands on this well concealed cache at 4.17. It’s much closer to the houses than I suspected. GB Leader wasn’t to be denied! Tftc.

Needing 17 more caches to get to 250 for March for qualifying for a cache in Wairarapa we headed to Foxton where we had approximately exactly that number available. The weather was lovely and so perfect for a geocaching jaunt.
My second time at this location. My first with CNAH when she sat in the car and then got abused by a cyclist who nearly rode into the car. He was most upset as his crate of beer on the back of his bike nearly fell off. It was quite wet at the time and I could not find it. Today was bright and sunny and hubby and I had a great look. Phoned a friend to confirm it was there fairly recently. Had another a poking search and found it. The log was very wet. We had some new home made paper logs and little plastic bags so we added this new dry one into the cache. Took a photo as proof. TFTC

Heading back up to Feilding after a FTF trip to Levin and I decided to revisit this cache to try and fix a frowny face on my map.

Arrived at the gz and thought I might be disappointed again, but this time I managed to locate the cache. Interior is wet and I couldn’t managed to make my pen work on the damp log. TFTC

Quick find, cache is very damp and needs some maintenance. Otherwise, tftc

24-Nov-17
Bit of a mission, first to find where to park, then to get the correct path to take, then to find it under the long grass - co-ords are spot on luckily Smile Logbook is wet.

28-Oct-17
Quick easy find. Had little trouble. TFTC

Thank heavens it hasn't rained do much in the last month, as I imagine it would have been very hard to find the Cache with so much water around. As it was, the container appears to be fine but the contents are soaked. I poured out what water I could, signed the log, and replaced it all as found. TFTC

Found during a day out with SAROC and Yeetrees mopping up a number of caches around the coast. After all the wet weather recently, the day dawned clear and bright, just a wee chill in the morning air. All in all, a fun day's caching.

Quite wet underfoot around here, but managed to find it eventually.

TFTC. An epic caching day in the company of GSEL - 50+ caches each (this was no 39 for me), Event, CITO,and finally collecting a kitten in Otaki! GSEL managed to spot this one before I did.

25-Feb-17
#3495. Infoferret offered me a ride up to Levin today to attend the two events being held there. Both of us are working on the DGSC challenge and are doing the bulk find elective. So we decided to make the most of the late summer day and attempt to pick up 50+ additional caches each for the challenge. The problem was that after comparing maps, it seemed that a lot of caches I had done were needed by IF and vice versa. So meant we would probably need to visit at least 70 caches today as well as picking up a kitten to take back to Wellington at 8pm. Found the track to this one as we returned from the cache further into the park. These types of hides can sometimes take a while to find but luckily it was quickly spotted this time. Signed the log and left the cache where found. Thanks for hiding it here. Cache 39 of 50.

Found it! Awesome little find. Wish I read about the mowed strip first lol. Follow the track guys don't walk threw the blackberry bushes.

Feeling chuffed with ourselves, CNAH and I headed off to find some others and stopped for this. Parking on the way to the beach I thought was ok - pulling to the side with the car next to the footpath but not on it. I left CNAH in the car as it was a bit wet underfoot. I no sooner crossed the road and wandered to the track to hear a cyclist carrying bottles (beer) making a lot of noise. Glanced back to find he had not been paying any attention to cycling at all and nearly hit the car, swerved and then hit a bumpy bit in the footpath and nearly fell off. He obviously got a hell of a fright. More like scared of breaking his bottles of beer lol. He swerved around and went back to the car and "went off" at CNAH. I hurriedly went back to the car. We moved it slightly and I had another go. I HATE hides under flax and it was very wet and soggy and the moment had been spoilt. Had a 10 minute search and then went back to the car and CNAH. It had got late so we headed for home.

24-Oct-16
Took the wrong access track to this one to start with so got the other cache in the area and then came back to this one. Nearly got wet feet trying to locate it but got there in the end. tftc

06-Oct-16
quick find once we circled round to the correct side of the host.
EtherMiss wanted to swap the 200ml out with the 1L that we had with us but before I could say anything, EtherLady piped up and said that you don't do any maintenance without the CO's permission.
While I would have loved to increase the container size (the host could easily support a 2L container, and even a 20L bucket!), I agreed with EtherLady and replaced the container as we found it.

Thanks for the cache NZM Smile

Out and about with team geocacher Mr. T picking up a few caches. A quick find under the hint object. Thanks for placing a cache here.

Nice sunny day

Definitely recommend going for this one first rather than the other cache in the reserve if you want to avoid a bush bash and blackberry. TFTC

15-Jun-16
Had a fun walk anticlockwise around the pond... if you'd like to avoid the prickly blackberry then I suggest you enter from the west entrance (mown grass strip to follow) and go clockwise...

Down this way caching with Team LALNZ - this was our second cache heading down to the beach. Spent a bit of time searching here but we were not to be rewarded today - unless you count GeoStripes from the blackberries. Maybe next time.

Missed the shorter path, and attempted on return trip to the other cache in area, took a tour through prickly valley, but soon wizened up to the path leading towards GZ..... #FacePalm.
After a quick poke around, cache was in hand and signing ceremony could proceed with Hyjynx and myself.
Cheers for the placement NZMamma

A mission was needed to complete one of the last few licence challenges on Rangitoto Island, so a passing comment to C&D at an event and this mission was soon planned. We nearly achieved what we set out to accomplish, with only 1 more cache to find to complete the challenge but that was due to miss-reading the fine print on the challenge page.

So with the mission lasting 48 hours we amassed a great set of numbers, 317 caches found, just over 1200km travelled, about 7 hours of sleep, C&D finding his 180th earthcache, completing the KAS powertrail in under 3 hours and finding numerous amazing geocaches. A lot of fun was had along the way, and some great memories were created. A big thanks to everyone for placing all the caches along the way, this mission wouldn't have been as much fun if they weren't there!

Cache was found floating, so the feet got a bit wet here. Thanks for the hide.

Well another mission down the line in what HKCB and I were expecting to be another large caching weekend where numbers were the target, Sleep was for the weak, OCD=commitment Big Grin, and petrol was a must. We left home at 6pm and headed straight down here to start what was going to be a long couple of days, so with much planning (compliments of HKCB) and a good supply of nourishing caching supplies in the back.
With a total of 1250 kms (just a short drive) and 5 hours [xx(] of sleep we were definitely going to earn our rest by Sunday evening when we got home. Oh, we even managed to attend an event along the way and meet fellow cachers from the area while in Wanganui.

Well it might just be a new day but we've already covered some miles in the quest for smilies. Sleeping in the car never gets any easier on the body but it does have the added bonus of saving money for more petrol.
This was our third in daylight but also our one hundred and ninth for the day not too shabby we think. found cache floating but completly dry in its location
Thankfully both HKCB and I enjoy caching through the night (and the day), well we have had plenty of experience of it, especially as we are both working on individual challenges, mine being the DGSc Challenge and includes the Night Caching elective.

So again thank you for the FUN of the hunt Big Grin

Found it today after walking across to the other cache first. We had been at the Foxton Fair and taken kids for a last swim at the beach. Wetsuits on and they were fine for a while. From memory the log was wet, but we wrote carefully and managed o.k. TFTC Foxton Beach was really pleasant today.

I almost gave up on this one before seeing a faint geo-trail heading *thataway*. I'm not fond of going off-trail, particularly in a preservation area. After checking the lay of the land I guessed it was still terra firma back there and damage to wetlands would not be an issue. Bonus: the retrieval and return was made without being eaten alive by mozzies or scratched to bits by blackberry. Cache and contents are in fine condition. Thanks for the hunt, NZM!

03-Jan-15
This took a bit of scratching around, got done by blackberry, but successful in the end. Tgtc

26-Apr-14
After a lovely day at Foxton Beach we thought we'd nab a quick cache on the way out. We weren't very sure where the access to the reserve was so turned down a few side roads before finding the entrance on the main road. Doh! Then failed to notice the obvious path and marched across huge tussocks of grass punctuated by deep holes. A quick find then trying to find a better route to the car we ended up in a bramble patch. Finally spotted the path and made it back to the car in one piece.. just! TFTC!

Cache number 20 of a 40 plus caching road trip on a soggy manawatu day. Managed to score a half day off work. A quick find after walking through the long wet grass. The reserve seems a little neglected. Found with Capperz and Hunterhillson.

My least fav hide, so after a few minutes searching and not finding, I had had enough and decided to carry on and look for Ferry Pines. On the walk back, StreetWalker, went on ahead to have another look for this cache and had turned up it up by the time I had caught up. All I needed to do was sign the log Smile. TFTC.

#7265. Couldn't find the cache in the during the initial look (I reckon caches in large flax bushes should be big containers). I had another look on the way back, and this time found it pretty quickly. TFTC.

#5270. Interesting information. The cache was nicely placed with good shelter from the neighbours. Quick find. Re-hidden at same spot with a little more camo.
