Night cache rather steep getting down off the track to GZ. Nice to have a tramping pole as guidance. Easy enough to follow the reflectors right to the clever cache container by the last white reflector.Thank you CO for setting this up. We enjoyed a rest sitting on the grass and looking at the lights below..Mission complete. Now how do we get out of here
TFTC. After a failed start and a bit of unnecessary walking and finally stopped and regrouped. We started to understand the hint the cash was soon in hand.
Headed up the peak late in the evening and headed behind the tanks. Spotted the reflector from a couple metres away and saw a trail of them behind it. Headed down and saw 2 reds and 1 white, but couldnt see the second white. While eimajesordaman went back up the count the reflectors, me, mrlgrose and wavecajin explored further along the trail. We decided to go back as geodad from wavecajin had an idea that I wont say otherwise itll spoil the cache. We headed down to the GZ and poked round for a couple minutes. At the exact same moment me and geodad from wavecajin saw something unusual. We pulled, not twisted it out, and we had the container in our hands. Thanks angelndemon for the cache
Our first night cache, really fun - beat high expectations, especially with the clever final tack. Also a really good hide itself. Just a bit tricky to reach in the dark haha. Thanks for the awesome work put into this. Cheers
Great walk on the trail for a 1st night cache with Wavecajin, mrlgrose and teamrosenz. Great hiding place in the end, TFTC! I'll give you a favourite for the experience.
Staying with geocaching mad family in Havelock North was the perfect time to experience our first night cache. Thanks for taking us along teamrosenz, mrlgrose, and eimajesordaman. It was a fun adventure and we loved that it needed a bit of thought too. Being a first for us we have given this a favourite. Next time we will make sure Geodad remembers his shoes and isn't in jandals . TFTC and the smiley .
I have 3 days in Gisborne and Hawkes Bay mostly to get the last of the geotour caches but also to get a few caches that I need for different challenges I'm working on. One of those challenges requires 10 official night caches so this was high at the list of must do's. I got to the gate after 9 pm and figured I'd never get it done before the gates shut so parked below them. There was no need to worry I was back at the car before 9.45 pm. The wisps were appearing so fast I couldnt count them and before I knew it I was at the final. Thanks for a fun night cache angelndemon

It was already pumpkin hour by the time I got back to my car after finding Lover's Lane. Do I really want to go all the way over to Te Mata at this time of the night or shall I wait and go before sunrise? Such are the tribulations of challenge caches. In the end I decided I was on a roll and I'm trying to coordinate work and caching goals at the same time and at the moment the balance seems to be swinging the work way . So with needing to complete a few hours work in the morning and getting up early is not my strong point I decided to head on over. Very pleased the locked gate is close to the cache and not at the bottom. Parked and walked up to the tanks only to find that the track is closed at the moment - something to do with optic cable being below? I decide I'm here now and there isn't going to be anyone to stop me at this hour so stepped over the tape and around the sign and cones. The first tack was immediate and no problem following the trail from there. Of the three night caches I have done tonight this was the easiest to find the start and follow. An instant favourite. Nice hide too. TFTC angelndemon I am so pleased I decided to come afterall. # 18,259
Working in Hawkes Bay for this month and enjoyed finding some newer caches and older one that were DNFs. That’s left me very few to find so now having to venture out at night. Grateful that this was a straight forward trail with regular markers to guide me. Nice hide at the end. Thanks for the placement.
A nice walk in the dark cache in good condition, lost pen on the way photo of log taken as proof tftc
#12,219. Enjoyed this night cache off Te Mata Peak Road in Havelock North. Navigated our way … counting as we went. Arrived at the final GZ a little sooner than expected. It was all quiet at the time of our visit. Relatively quick find once we were in the right spot. The cache was in good condition, all nice and dry inside. Took nothing, left nothing signed log.

Visiting the whānau in Napier, I decided to head back up Te Mata peak on my own after seeing it with the kids in daylight yesterday. Armed with my torch and sturdy footwear, I avoided sliding around (just!) as I followed the markers. Loved the container at the end! Thanks for keeping this night cache going. TFTC
We did this by day due to time constraints and nearly got stuck on the final 2. Would have been much easier with a torch in the dark . Great cache container!
Came for a pre-dawn walk to find this one.
You know you are close when you find the penultimate marker.
Great hide, had rolled down hill some way.
Moved back to near the last marker.

Did at dusk. Very cool. We’ve attempted caches similar but not well maintained so were very glad to have completed this and with a cool container. Thanks for the cache! Fp fo so
Found as a part of a previous group TanjackMüley, now WanderingSparrow. Now I'm continuing on my own. TFTC
This was the final goal cache of the day. My torch is called the beast by one of my girlfriends, and it made short work of the trail today. Almost before I could believe it I was signing the log! Tftc, another much appreciated 2.5+ cache for my dgsc challenge tally.
We completed this one during the day. Easy trail to follow. Really loved the camo for this one. Fave point added for the fun find at the end of a great trail. TFTC. Cheers
we had this weekend booked in and so glad of the lucky weather, after dropping the boys off at the top I started to make my way down and finding caches that could find while they made the way to the bottom caching on the tracks (turns out I had much more luck than they did.
I really enjoyed this one, grabbed the torch but turns out I didnt need it and was able to follow with ease.
just as I got to gz hubby called ready for his pick up to the top.
so I sign the log and leave with a smile, thanks for the placement. +fp cache all in good order

Look for this in the afternoon, markers were quite visible. Loved the como. Cheers.
Had dinner in Havelock North after spending a good part of the afternoon up Te Mata Peak signing off the odd cache. So it was time to come back for the night cache. Keeping the Gate closing time of 10pm in mind we hurriedly finished the cache with a few minutes to spare. Do they really lock them at 10pm?
Cheers for the cache.
Cheers for the cache.
great night trail, markers were easily seen and cool container at the end. tftc
What a fantastic night trail! We really enjoyed the time we spent here. An amazing hide and great camo. Thanks so much for the awesome cache!
I love this cache and it was fun wondering around on a wet foggy night. Tftc
A very early start this morning as I had a couple of night caches on the cards, plus a couple of other must do caches while we are in the area and a trail or two to while we are at it. The first cache being signed at around 5.45am and finished up with the last about midday with just over 40 finds. Not a too bad a effort I don't think. Thanks to very one for the placements.
Very creepy up here this morning. Parked up at the suggested parking spotted and made my way to the back of the tanks. What I didn't expect was a flock of sheep to be here as well, that plus the low cloud and the fact that there eyes glow white, it felt like I was in some sort of sheep horror movie. Though I did get a bit of a laugh once I found the first marker and then as I shone my torch around there were the sheep all staring back at me and it looked like a huge amount of makers everywhere.
No troubles following the markers to the final cache and a nicely camo'd container at the end. Worth a fav point for the neat adventure.

Awesome night trail and can see a lot of thought when into the container. Favourite point from us. Tftc
Great fun! Kids loved it, great view of the lights, and cool container. A favourite of ours.

What a cool little trail! Loved it apart from the night factor making things a bit creepy! Cool idea
Loved this trail! Beautiful view and gorgeous area. I had a lot of fun laughing finding my way in the dark for this one with an amazing reward. Got a bit lost on the way up but we found our way only to be greeted by a group of goats huddled up to the fence on the way down!!!!!
Loved loved loved this cache, so much fun scrambling around in the dark! Great final resting place thanks so much!
Great Stuff - really enjoy Night Caches (Easier to get to than mine - GC44YDJ - Shameless plug ). Appreciate the work on the container too. TFTC

In the Hawkes Bay for a long weekend of relaxation and caching. A great way for Mr All7ofusNZ to test his new 190 lumen head torch and it was just getting dark when approaching GZ at the start of the trail. Actually the low setting proved to be more than enough to light the trail and soon tracked to the final spot. Liked the hide at the final as a muggle would be less likely to spot this if they inadvertently followed the reflectors. Used full beam to find an easier path back up to the car. TFTC and a FP from us for our first (successful) night-cache.
Loved this one. Always enjoy walking up the peak but this added an extra bit of fun to it. TFTC
A very pleasant night time walk while we are on holiday in Hastings. Nice quick trail and then a short cut back up to the road where I had parked the car. Nice cache container and excellent view from GZ - TFTC !
Well what a cool hide. Easy to find but we were not keen to risk our selves going down the marked way so went down the track further and found no easy access. On our way out spotted a easy way down maybe 40 odd meters before the marked way. Made our way towards where we saw the last marker and found it no issue. Forgot a pen so marked a page with some bark.... tftc
Having found some traditional caches on the tracks around Te Mata Peak as well as the Earthcache, earlier in the day, we liked the sound of this mystery cache to complete the day's activities. We'd never done a night cache before, but I had recently bought a new torch that I was sure would be up to the task. Mrs B wasn't so sure, especially about the need to wander around on steep pine needle slopes in torchlight, but she managed in the end , though is not keen to repeat the experience . We sort of lost count in the middle, but eventually hit the correct combination of colours for the end game, so that didn't matter. Loved the cache container camo: very clever. Certainly gets a favourite from us. TFTC
Really happy to get this one! Struggled with a couple near the end but had I kept count I think it would've been easier. The hide container is quite well done.
Managed to get this without too much slipping and sliding but that was mostly down to luck.
FP for the well done night cache and the well constructed cache container.

What do you do when you find you have a surprisingly free weekend.... Plan a caching weekend away of course! After loading up the car very full, Tommygun9, Veebee001, yuyito_lindo and I headed off to Havelock North for the weekend to collect some caches and enjoy the sites.
Took a while too find this and a few questionable footholds scrambling after the reflectors.

Going for this nice and very straight forward night cache was a very good thing to do and it was the start of a fantastic evening to me. Thank you for this great cache.
Had great fun with metal-art and young oldboy999 getting this one. A nice big slug was guarding the cache. A beautiful night so we finished off with a trip to the top to see the sparkly view.
Favorite point, first ever night cache, was pitch black when we came back up. Loads of fun. TFTC
Great fun, I always love these type of caches and a nice touch at the end with the very creative hide.

This was so much fun! Went for a ride or two on the pine needles but no one was hurt following the wisps. Thank you angelndemon for the night time adventure.
Planned on being the last cache of the day, was somewhat unsure to disturb the new born lambs with mum at the starting point. Tried our best to use the fenceline to avoid them.
Great views on a calm night.
tmann421 soon had the cache in hand
Thanks for your efforts in setting this up angelndemon

Found on a bit of a road trip with TuisReturn.
Was a calm evening although a cool bit of wind at the top of the hill.
Not too difficult and soon found the cache - good big reflectors

We had to go up the peak with the moon so bright. Found the cache and took some of the sheep shhhh home. Great outing Thanks for this
Absolutely loved it! The Moon was full and super bright, was easy to find and follow. Stood there and watched over the city for a while. Breathtaking. TFTC very cleverly done
After dropping of Mrs TheWanglers with the other bridesmaids I headed out grab this one before I went to our holiday house. The road up to GZ was windy and I still hadn't come to terms with the high beam in our rental car. So I drove nice and slow. I was surprised at the amount of traffic. I had my super duper light and followed the trail. It was great and the 'eyes' were easily spotted. I have had a bit of bad luck with night caches or have found them underwhelming or unable to complete due to lost 'eyes'. But this ticked all the boxes. Great job and it does get a favourite point from me. The final container is great good work!!! The view from the trees was great too. I headed straight up and walked along the road for a bit. Good fun. I'll save the drive to the top with the family.
Thanks for the cache.

Was looking forward to doing this one, while we were in town for a CITO event. We've done one of these before (Foxton) & think there a lot of fun. It was a little drizzly, which made things a bit slippery, but not too bad.
The will-o-the-wisps were a lot easier to spot than the other night cache we'd done, so it didn't take long to find the final. Container was a little hard to open - might be the rain making it difficult. TFTC & the fun night cache.

Found at 9 pm. Nice big markers. I could see the first few markers without my torch.
I did start searching for the cache a little bit early before I spotted another marker further on.
A great view along the way and a really neat hide at the final.
One of the most enjoyable caches I have done recently.
Thanks.

Got a txt from MorgamEd and she suggested we all go out and dance with the fairies. No way I expressed, it ain't even dark enough yet. But as soon as the sun had depleted it's light for the day - there she was with torch in hand and up that hill we all did trod. Wispy folk made for good navigators and soon the stick-o-log was presented at our feet.
Fully recommend to do this at night else you'll miss the magic those little wispy fellows glow even though it makes it difficult to see to sign the logbook. Be mindful of slopes but kids will have a ball. Thanks so much angeldemon for setting up yet another wonderful cache.
completed tonight in the dark
Nice to have a night cache in the bay have one planned myself watch this space

FTF shared with timbermills at 8:08pm. Nice spot, sat for 10 minutes admirering the view, then it started to rain
Booyah! Just what I needed to see, a nice empty log book... Shared FTF with littleredpenguin at 808pm. Sat around at GZ hoping to meet some other cachers, but it was just starting to rain.
This is my first NZ FTF as we recently moved back to Hawkes Bay after living in Canada for the last 15 years. Good to be back and look forward to meeting some of you fellow cachers out on the trail soon.
This is getting a favourite point for sure!
Thanks for the cache, and the extra effort that goes into making this cache all the more fun. BTW great container!
