Geoturtle37 and I had a great time travelling with The Drovers, Suscoe and Phetlern, around Swan Hill and its surrounds searching for smileys. We were lucky to find many with only a few DNF's. Thanks for the information re the Lake. GT37 used to live by the Yarra so is familiar with floods and I lived in Geelong where the Barwon often flooded. At least it isn't as bad as it used to be.
Thank for placing this cache for us to find.

With the memory of the Rutherglen Mega still utmost in our minds, we set a course for Swan Hill, to spend a few days caching around the border area with Suscoe, Geoturtle, Papi and The Drovers. Very interesting to read about the lake, we can actually remember the floods of January 2011 and the damage they caused.
To maximise the space on cache logs for future cachers, we logged our visit as "B Team"
Thanks to the Owner for adding this cache to the gameboard.

After camping here at the lake I woke to a very wet campground. While waiting to pack up I decided to find the 2 nearby caches, not letting the rain stop me.
With rain falling I made my way to GZ followed by Rex the neighbourhood dog. The cache was found quickly.
There are facilities here not seen in most other 'free/donation' campgrounds. Surprisingly we had the place to ourselves as most people had returned home from the long weekend.
Thanks, Team Megradel.

With the cool weather this area isnt very busy but i can imagine in summer its the local place to be.

Enjoyed our camping for a week with our daughter for the school holidays, popular during the long weekend, but quiet during week. Easy as.
Quick find by Geohubby while the Geokids had a quick play. So peaceful here & surprisingly no one around.

Suscoe was heading home today after a terrific caching trip around the Kerang region.
We were making our way back down south to our home base.
It was a warm day with sunshine and some cloud. there was a bit of wind too.
The roads were pretty quiet.
Thanks to Team Megradel for this placement.
What a terrific spot to unwind during the warmer months.
A special breakfast was just starting to be set up as we were leaving. We suspect a young couple was going to enjoy this lovely setting while eating some yummy foods.

Enjoying a meander down some roads we don't normally travel to grab a few caches on the way home. Many thanks for help making it an enjoyable day.
Quick find with tassie expat while exploring this great area. We never would have visited here of not for geocaching. Tftc
Deniliquin to Boort.
From here we stopped for caches along the road where it was suitable to stop with the caravan on.
After setting up camp at the showgrounds we did a tour of the country side hunting down caches.
Thankyou for placing this cache Team Megradel

Thanks
As I continue to meander on my journey towards St Arnaud, I am enjoying caching my way through the countryside A lovely area that would mostly be driven by and not enjoyed TFTC Team Megradel
Camping in Boort with the family and this morning we decided to head out of town a little and explore. So many lakes around these parts. A nice quick find here. Many thanks for the cache.
Quick find @1245 log book signed and returned and thd birds were pleased we were on our way to leave them in peace. Thanks for the cache placement all good at GZ .
Easy find in what we now realise is a popular hiding spot in this region. They are good places to hide things.
Found on our way home from our trip to Lake Boga, where we saw the Catalina airshow and display, went fishing, and of course cached our way around as well.
What a lovely area. The lake is full and is so picturesque in the warm autumn sunshine today.
A few campers were here, but out of sight of GZ.
A quick find by Chunk.

Out today on a country road trip to fill in some LGA's and explore the countryside.
Sun came and and it really heated up - great to explore some new spots!
I had a friend who stayed here a week earlier and called it heaven on earth. What a great spot that the locals must love. Plenty on the lake today.

Off to Kerang to attend Lady Morris' school reunion. The mosquitoes added an extra couple of difficulty points - they absolutely swamped us in most locations.
I attended many Sunday School picnics and school camps here over the years. Nice to see some water in the lake and all the improvements since the 2001 floods.

New cache in place. The Lake has now receded from recent floods and this cache should be accessible to all.

Found this cache OK, but it was so wet that it was impossible to sign the log , I did leave a mark!! When I opened the container it was absolutely full of large ants, fortunately they were very sluggish and did not give me too much grief . I'm sorry I did not have a dry replacement log sheet. This area is a credit to the local residents.
As per a previous log, the logbook is still there (and in fair enough condition), but nothing else. I managed to find a good container from the ones that I keep in the car, and replaced the cache in a logical hide at GZ.
Another quick find but had to wait until a few cars drove past with their boats and looking for camping spots ... TFTC
I enjoyed a stroll through the deserted surrounds of Lake Meran and its shiny new facilities this sunny afternoon
Cache found I could sit down and relax for a moment, watching the black swans and ducks bob around in the quiet, ski-boat free waters [^]

Parked about 70 metres away and walked to GZ, not knowing if Id be able to turn the Caravan around had I gone any further. Alas, yes, there would have been plenty of room, but never mind, a walk is always good. The cache was quickly spotted and logged, and then returned to its hiding hole. Bogonghazy and I were hoping to make Swan Hill tonight, and daylight hours were quickly passing.
Found this one with Sully1 after parking the car and van safely a little back from the big puddles from yesterday's rain. This is a really beautiful lake Team Megradel, thanks for bringing us here
Find #1539 @ 1449H
Seeing that the skys were kinda clear I decided to head off on a small cache hunt (small in number not in distance) A total of 9 cache grabs but with a distance of 250ks round trip for the day.
I have never been up to this lake before and I think next summer I mite be making a couple of trips up here. It seem to have everything that you need for a days outing by the water.
TFTC Team Megradel and for showing me this location.

One of the things we love about the world of caching is the places you discover that you would have otherwise driven past. What a beautiful lake, and a lovely place to camp. An added bonus was that we saw Kenny, with the porta-loo on the back of the trailer. We had a good laugh!

Nice day out at Lake Meran with family. TFTC. Brought back memories of Camp Slade.
Please note. Watch parking under the gum-trees..branches and bark fall off. TFTC. Left MyGeoGear magnetic Trackable. TFTC.
After finally conquering Quambatook, it was across to Lake Meran to pick up this little cache. A quick and easy grab, although the windy conditions played a little havoc. TFTC
Heading home from Broken Hill with Dr Who after doing the fireworks for their annual show. We stopped hear late last night and rolled out the swags for a good sleep. We awoke this morning and after breakfast we headed off to check out the information on this area and see some photos of the flood. We were about to leave and loaded the GPSr to find the cache was only 18mts from where we had spent the night, what a way to start the day, a nice easy find in a great location and we did not even have to move the car.
Thanks for bringing us here and the information on the area Team Megradel

Found by Roma and Max.
Returning home after a days caching in Kerang we decided to pass by here to look for your cache.
The facilities certainly have been improved since our last visit and make for a very pleasant place now for family visits.
Thanks Team Megradel.

Out caching for the day with Stooy. Its great to find these great picnic/camping places, wish we had known about them 20+ years ago when we were looking for places to camp with our kids. TFTCSL
I love finding new places like this, thanks. We will have to come back for a swim when its warmer. Found with the Rainbow Rabbits while caching between Bendigo and Kerang.
Another great cache by Team Megradel grabbing this one was easier than "how charming" which we found earlier in the day. Kids had a great day with having a dip at 2 of our great lakes in the area. TFTC
A snappy drive out to a favourite location now with its own cache. The landscape works are a credit to the Lake's friends. Super spot for fishing and a picnic. Found with The Comrades. TFTC. TNLN.

Journeying back to Bendigo following a successful Cohuna Matata event, I took my usual round about way which was definitely not the most direct route to add to the numbers. A quick find then it was off to find some more before eventually arriving home late in the evening. Many thanks Team Megradel for placing this cache.
Thanks for a hide at Meran; it's overdue for one! Well done Team Megradel - and the local community action that has achieved a wonderful upgrade of the facilities here. Took TB and left dinosaur.
A nice easy find, Then the geograndkids had a play in the play area for a bit.
