Logs
Brought the family here today and had visions of riding through the park on bicycles and making beelines for caches. Not today. More like herding cats but we had fun and made our way to this one first with our youngest on training wheels and the other 2 boys on foot. Our eldest found this one quickly. Nice breeze from the river too. TFTC!
We have LOVED all the ones in the armoury. Whoever did them did such a fun great job. Thanks for the fun day of treasure hunting
Yesterday I decided to work from the ferries for the day and took a rivercat to Olympic Park while wifi-ing off the ferry. It was glorious. When I got to the Olympic Park stop I wondered over to the Newington Armoury where I went looking for a spot to take my work calls. Turns out the cafe was closed but their outdoor, covered seating was open to all. After my calls I wandered back to the ferry and passed this location on the way. Spent a while searching for this one in every conceivable place. Eventually I found it not quite where I was expecting, but definitely agree with the CO that it is there!Tftc!
Im relatively new to this caper and had no idea what I was looking for; plus there is SO much rubbish in the vicinity. Oh well, maybe another time
Oh well, a fail here from me today. I thought it might have something to do with unscrewing, but that only led to an empty space. Filled up with a good feel all over, but I must have missed something.
Took longer than it should have, seen this camo before, but wasn't in the usual type of place. Replaced as found. TFTC
Out for a day with Irol_22. After a quick search we remembered a previous coach that had a similar vibe. Luckily our experience paid off. TFTC!

Cache is in good condition. Saw some isopods on the rocks!I found this one pretty quickly, the cache size in the listing attributes was an additional hint, kind of.
OCW GGCoconut and HJBanana. After the non stop downpour of the past two days, we were pleased to see a bit of a break in the weather and decided to venture out to Newington and SOP for as bit of caching. Newington is a place we really haven't been to before and we were quite amazed at the size of the armory grounds and the great spaces nearby such as the huge kids adventure playground. Wow, this one really had me going for a bit! I fell for the red herring intially and spent a few minutes trying to work out how to get to the log! Looked back through the logs to see if anyone else had had any trouble and then realised I really wasn't looking in the right place. Hmmmm where else could it be, there's a lot going on in there! Hmmmm... Oh! There you are! Very nicely hidden. TFTC Tronador!
A tough hide! Such a familiar container that is usually blindingly obvious to me now, but this one was slightly obscured and I was too busy getting distracted by other potential hiding spots that related to the hint to expand my search!
After eventually being convinced the cache was not hidden where I was searching, I quickly found the cache immediately when I looked elsewhere. Ahhh, sneaky!

It's threatening rain but the sun stayed out for this easy find. I imagine this being tricky on weekends with muggles everywhere. Fortunately geobaby had a swimming carnival this morning and so we decided to bunk school and instead cache for a few hours while the weather's fine. Never paid attention to this being a heritage listed item. We loved checking it out. TFTC!
Log replaced. Thanks to the last finder. I've removed both the full and the replacement and put in another waterproof log. Good to go.
Being in the area there was a small window of time to find a few caches. Nice walk out to this one and all quiet on the river. A quick find but the log is full so had to sign along the side as we didn't have a spare.

This was a quick find this morning with discobob3 after doing the circle time adventure lab and also before the battlecache event nearby. It was easy for us as we had both seen the type of cache before. Logbook is full but we signed in the side where there was a gap!

In the area for the battlecache event today. Made it there early to do the circle time adventure lab before there would be hoardes of kids around. Made a quick dash for this one before the event with jennyfromthefarm. We both spotted instantly as not that camouflaged. Thanks, I do love cycling this area it is so peaceful.
Lots of muggles about but luckily a nice quick find in between them - very pleasant area I've never been before

Found after the Sydney 10 race and breakfast at the Armory wharf cafe. With fdsawq who had collected this cache 8 years earlier! Nice spot for a hide!
Great day for caching & exploring the park lands via scooter. Geo kid C for the find. Time to head home

Last day in Sydney, last day in Australia this year(?) . Flying out tonight, had to go to work for half a day in the morning... but in-between, it was a MUST to take advantage of the few hours available and target another area I had on my radar because of the LabCaches nearby.

We are back in Australia this year, despite these rough COVID times. We are here for work, but every now and then some time off allows for a bit of geocaching. Visited Adelaide for a day but after that we spent most of the time in Sydney Olympic Park.
It is my first time in South Australia and NSW, so it is very nice to get these state souvenirs!
