Time for this GeoArt to go....
It was born from an idea of firesafe, Honeysucker and myself to put out a big series for the Oz Mega Event once the location was announced. We did it independently of the organising committee and got the 203 cache published in early Jan of 2013. It was the biggest GeoArt/Powertrail in Australia at the time.
Since then some 60-70k of finds have been made with the peak being at the Oz Mega at Easter 2014, where on one day of finds alone more than 6500 'found it' emails were received.
I would like to thank CPWanderer, Froghoppin, and the numerous local and interstate teams whom have assisted with maintenance over the last 4 1/2 years which has kept all but 1 (archived due to a new house at GZ that wasn't there when placed) of the remaining 173 cache still going (The 29 cache that made the 'S.A.' were archived before the Mega due to 'an incident' with a farmer over a weed!)
As for the cache containers they have been collected today and there is nothing to find out there now. The archiving process will begin ASAP
My apologies for those whom may have a solution for them, but interest has been waning greatly in the last 12 months and an opportunity came up for them to be collected yesterday.
Thanks again to all the finders, andfor the support for the series and maybe we can learn from this experience...
Thanks

Finally got to complete this series today with Ismartis and Tardis Trio, and just in time it seems.
It was a very enjoyable day with sufficient variety in containers and hides to keep things interesting. Most of the containers were in quite good order and were found fairly quickly, although some caches were more well-hidden and took us a bit longer to find.
We finished up the day with no DNFs for the entire series, which was a great effort and the weather held out, which was a bonus.
Thanks TeamHurtle for the series.

Mr Tardis went out today to finish off this Oz Mega series with help from Ismartis and e.gregory1. We had a great time and three sets of eyes definitely helps. All cachers found without too much trouble.
A nice day to be out and about caching.
Signed the log. Thanks for the cache Hurtle

Camping nearby the night with Tritonz we woke up early and saw there was a power trail beside us...what a perfect way to start the day!
With Tritonz driving I did the early morning running - even before my first coffee! Smash smash smash - didn't even need a GPS just ran straight too them. Awesome way to start the morning! Thanks Hurtle for placing this series.

After a busy day of caching with Jacko83, we set up camp very late at the Bowhill Turnoff Rest Area where we had a good sleep and recharged our batteries for another solid day of caching today. While waiting for Quasar3671 to catch up with us we decided to hit this trail practically at our doorstep, so to speak, managing to get just over halfway through.
Thanks Hurtle for placing this series for us and others to enjoy.

Thanks so much for this series and the time and effort that has gone into placing it.
Day 4 of our SA trip had us leaving our camping spot in Palmer nice and early and heading towards Murray Bridge [^]. Of course there were many power trails collected including the geo art
I had been eyeing off an interstate trip for some time now and made plans to head to SA to power through the geoart trails over here . I roped in my geo buddy Krabiboy to join me and we set about solving [?] caches and highlighting Jasmer caches that aren't available over in WA. Our adventure took us from the CBD over to the Yorke Peninsula and then back across to the Murray Bridge area . We were relentless in chasing down the finds and picked up as many as we could in the week that we had available. Due to the park and grab nature of our visit, the log books which weren't able to accommodate the ink stamp we had made were signed with the initials 'jk'! Fave points will be awarded for those caches which are considered awesome
A massive thanks here to Hurtle for placing this cache here and for tempting us to venture over to this area. Cheers!
jinta29 found your cache Oz Mega 2014 SA #20 today. This is my find #7375 and find #111 today. I was able to get my name in the log book here and we replaced the cache as we found it. Thanks once again Hurtle for placing this and bringing us to this part of the world!

jinta29 and I are in town this week after many months of planning for a week to remember. We are heading to the Yorke Peninsula, Murray Bridge and as many places in between as we can get to. This was one we found along the way.

We had fun with caching few weeks here in Australia ( South Australia and Northern Territory ). Lots of geocaches and many sort of them too. We saw awesome places, weather was good all the time and people were friendly and polite. Caches were pretty similar like in our home country. Of course there were some exeptions. Nice and huge country!
Greetings from Finland!

Team ICE on a two week geocaching trip in Australia. Our main target was the Red Centre Experience at Alice Springs but of course we did some caching in other places too. We drove from Adelaide to Alice Springs and then back. We saw lots of interesting and beutiful places like opal mines at Coober Pedy, Ayers Rock and Kata Tjuta. Our rental travelled almost 6500km on gravel and tarmac roads. The weather was great, only on last day we got some rain.
All the caches logged as Team Ice, T-ice or Tice with kapeka, laalaa and Hiltsu. We had a great trip!
Today we drove back to Adelaide from Murray Bridge. Main target for today was Oz Mega 2014 puzzle trails.

It was a few days ago that Locus Cache suggested a caching trip to Murray Bridge so I could make a start on the Oz Mega Series. A late start meant that it was un likely that I would finish the series, but we could make a start anyway. After spending a few hours cleaning up some specific caches in Murray Bridge central we headed of and made a start on the geo art. Slowely and steadily we made inroads and the find count was going up. How ever it was getting quite late and the decision was made to call it a night. An enjoyable day was had and hopefully I will be back soon.

This was a very quick and easy to find power trail. Most of the containers and logs were in good condition and those that were not have a note added. The log was duly signed and everything was replaced as found. Thank you to TeamHurtle for this series.
Found on a major 'all we can do as efficiently as possible' day.
Trodectus and I had a great time doing this series.[^][^][^]
We 'hurtled around doing these.
It would have been easier if I had got off my backside and logged these before they were archived!
Thanks For The Cache hurtle

Oh totally awesome and worth a fav. The WEEO and I did 4 solid days of caching in the Murray Bridge area including this cool arrow. It was raining a bit (much needed), but the caches were all snug and we kept them dry. Especially loved the short jump from our 4WD to cache. TFTC
Thanks TeamHurtle for developing this trail. 3-Kings and I had the time of our life completing this trail. We did every one of the regular caches and I worked out 4 of the Sudokus and 3-Kings 9. It was a good experience and boosted our numbers well. Thanks.
After staying at Murray Bridge overnight I headed out today to try a few power trails. The first one on my list was Signal and after finishing that one I headed into town for some lunch and to contemplate which way to go next. I decided to head out and get a start on the Oz Mega 2014 SA series.
Most caches were found okay but I still had a few head scratching moments along the way and only 1 DNF today.
Thanks for a great series!

Weekend at Murray Bridge with a few of the kids, saw us hit a few trails around. We laughed hard as our 15 and 14 year olds raced to caches, hip and shouldering each other, pushing, putting the child lock on the car door.....caching was slow but was so much fun. Thankyou for your caches, very well kept.
Sorry about the generic log, but I was told I have to include our son (Mashyy) found the cache

I was out with JJ52 today to help her get some numbers, with the main aim of the day for JJ52 to pick up the GEOPETS series, with me doing a maintenace check as we went, and then us both finding Oz Mega arrow. We had a great day with only 1 DNF on the Oz Mega series. Enjoyed lunch at Fasta Pasta and then ended the day with dinner at Wong's Happy Gathering Restaurant before heading home.

Out for a drive with the Geo Daughters (1pinkexplorer & 1funnyhoney). The primary aim to to complete as many of the Oz Mega as we could. We didn't get all of the them, but we made a good start. Only saw one snake today, which was one to many.
After a few months of planning, and trial runs I finally attempted and complete my goal of doing a 24 hour SOLO cache run!!!
One Man, One Day, 441 caches found!
I booked two nights at Murray bridge and arrived at 8:00 pm. Attempted without success to sleep until 11:30 pm then got up and went to the location of the first cache. As the clock turned to midnight I began.
Speed through the Oz Mega 2014 Trail with only a handful of DNFs, then picked a few up along the highway until I got to the GeoPets trail.
After this I cut through to Wandering Heros and completed up to the "OTS: May" trail. Went along this and came back into Tailem Bend for lunch and fuel and few in town. Was beginning to get weary but proceeded back to where I left off in the Wandering Heros.
From here on in I just completed as many of these as I could up through Karoonda in the hot hot mid 30's day until midnight stuck a few kms east of town.
441 finds was the total count and now I just had to drive back to Murray Bridge. Easier said then done after being awake for practically 40 hours. Hit the hotel pillow at 1:20 am and was out within seconds.
Thanks for all the wonderful caches around this area, and sorry for generic logs.

OK, let's follow this road for some traditional caches. Thanks for placing them all.
Number 34 of 173 in our 16-hour Murray Bridge caching tour. Found at 10:18am.
On 2015 Christmas Day, we spent the whole day caching in the town of Murray Bridge. We did not get to go to the mega event last year, so we came now to pick up some of the many caches here. We left home before 7am and arrived home after half past 2am! What a memorable Christmas Day! Surely nothing like this can happen once we have kids...
Cache was easy to find. Signed the log book and placed the container back.
Thank you for the cache, TeamHurtle.

Out with Sydneykiwi today and our very capable driver collecting caches in the area. Thanks for bringing us here TeamHurtle
Tui's Return and I spent the day completing about 140 caches. Easily the most I've done in one day. We logged "TR + SK" (Tui's Return and Sydneykiwi) in all the log books. Thanks to all the owners for placing these caches.
Found it during an evening drive. Pretty straight forward PT catching here. Only got to 20 catches until sunset. Will be back for the rest another day. Thanks for the catches!
All catches logged with the name doXa.

In Murray Bridge for Pedal Prix so had to grab some caches while in the area TFTC 19/09/2015 4:32 pm Find #636
People who last found these caches have left them all really exposed. We have covered them. Not good enough people.
On a quick two to three day get away by myself. Heading over to Tailem Bend and Murray Bridge to pick up a few smiley face along the way collecting mostly Earthcaches, Letterbox Hybrids, Wherigos and 'Finds by hidden month' I need to fill - Plus any others that are nearby any of the rarer types I'm after in boosting my numbers a little.
After leaving on Home on Sunday I was fortunate to have excellent weather on my side and a great run also traffic wise, which was great as it enabled me to get quite a lot of KM's done and caches done too while on my way to Tailem Bend for the night and get an early start on the trail in Murray Bridge.
After spending the night in Tailem Bend I made an early start at first light to cram as many caches in today as I can. After completing the Geopets series in Tailem Bend I headed over to Murray Bridge to grab a coffee and then do this series.
I happy to say I found all in this series, but one - so I was pretty stoked about that. Thankfully most were easy but some did provide a little more time to search than most.
Thanks Team Hurtle for the cache and series
Log signed and cache replaced as found. TFTC & smiley face

This was day two of Roadtrip ahomburg and sharkiefan 2015. Today was a real numbers run, we managed to find 169 caches and DNF just three. It was a simply stunning day, especially good considering it was winter, the sun shone for most of the day. Most caches found today were not too tricky, usually found within a minute or so, with the odd one providing an extra challenge.

After having a try at the Signal puzzle Series, we decided that moving here had to be easier to do than Sudoku, which is something we hate doing.
We had an enjoyable time doing these 41 caches and thank the CO for the placement and upkeep.
Please excuse the cut and paste option here, but on my phone as the Motel's internet is non existent.

I set out on this road trip to tackle both series of power trails put out for the 2014 mega. Toaday I tackled the northern section as the weather forecast was great.
The preform tubes have done the job well after all this time and I am grateful for the replacement of teh caches along thee sections in recent times which meant I got a perfect score today, no dnf's.
The local farmers passing knew what I was doing and often checked to see if I was okay, which I was of course.
Thanks Team Hurtle

Today was Oz Mega 2014 geo-art day. We contacted the CO a few weeks before hand and got a bunch of new caches to replace all the missing ones in front of the chicken farm.
We replaced all the ones that multiple people had DNF’ed except for #113 and #114 because we just ran short of containers so had to DNF those 2.
Project “Centroid” road trip continued today...after a bit of planning Fleabag and I decided to head towards Adelaide again for the long weekend to get 500 or so caches to move our centroid far enough away from home to complete a challenge cache in Melbourne. We managed to get 501 just for good measure.
At the same time we tried to get a few areas of Victoria done on the way there and back to start working on another challenge cache back in Melbourne.
Thanks for the cache, the puzzles, the hunt and the fun.

Spiffy- and I were on a project to get 500 caches in 4 days that were over 100km from our home locations. An early start and a familiar power trail after doing the signal series. It was a long and fast paced day but very enjoyable. Thanks to TeamHurtle for the cache.
A quick find with the aid of the hint. Struggling a bit with the temperature today, a bit warm for cachers from Tassie! TFTC
Staying with the Froghoppin team locally, Mrs Frog slept in after Aussie day festivities, while Mr Frog acted as chauffeur extraordinaire so I could catch up on the arrow part of this one.
Back at Mega the geoboys wanted to stick to trads around town, so left all these for me!

Had a wonderful day out at Murray Bridge, managed to complete the traditionals for this series, will be back for the puzzles, but time was running away from us. There are no TB's in any of these caches, even though some of them have a TB assigned to them. All caches were in tact and had no issues locating any of them. Thankyou TeamHurtle for the time and effort put into these caches, geomum and I had a blast retrieving them all. TFTC
Coming past on the way from Adelaide to Mt Gambier and just had to detour to have a go at this little run all fairly quick to snap up on the way past. We did miss a few having overshot the spot and ran out of time to get back for them. TFTC fantastic little power trail, a lot of fun.

We are finally getting around to doing some of the Oz Mega caches. We have planned so many times to do these but something always seem to come up. A very big thanks to everyone who has helped to set up the caches, research the area to place the caches and then the massive job logging all the caches with the umpire for approval. SL TFTC
This was find number 6 of 61 for the day.

we were very happy to undertake the many geocaches from the Oz Mega 2014 ~ serie. We enjoyed it. Thanks to the owner and greetings from Belgium.
A final assault on the Oz Mega 2014 series had us with 53 finds and 2 DNF's so we earned a few extra smilies today
Our digital map now looks like it has a series of yellow brick roads meandering all over thhe place
Once again many thanks TeamHurtle for all the hard work, time and effort to place and maintain this series[^][^][^]

As part of our SA geocaching holiday we are having a day trip to Mannum. Starting early and finishing about lunch time as very high temperatures are expected. Trying to find as many of the Oz Mega 2014 SA series 41 - 1 before it gets too hot today on our return from Mannum. TFTC.
On a 10 day holiday in SA to do geocaching with my sister JooJoo57. Today we attempted to do a number of the Oz Mega 2014 SA Trail. Did not do all of them as time and hot weather were not on our side. Enjoyed the ones we attempted and found and thank you to the Cache Owner. TFTC
Found this whilst on a caching run with McPhan to SA, leaving our 'McWin' stamp as we went. WH and Signal yesterday, and the northern Mega geoart today. Found most, but it appears 20 odd around the chook farm have gone missing.
Huge effort putting these out and maintaining them. Sorry we missed the Mega, but making up for it now.
Thanks TeamHurtle for the cache.

[center]8045. [green] Sorry but they're going to be generic logs as there is little to differentiate the hides once you do them all.
We originally planned to come before the Mega, then during and ended up now. Life, huh?!
Lots of almost planning and puzzle solving done before leaving and we were all set to take on the challenge. Fueled by protein and Zero we hurtled around this lot enjoying the snaffles and really getting in to a nice rhythm. Cache after cache was nabbed and it's only when you look back at the open chests, and those still to open, that you begin to realise the amount of work that went into this series. Well done to all who placed and assisted.
Love the dirt roads in SA - and the driving of winglen who 99% of the time managed to stop perpendicular to the cache.
All in all well worth the pain that set in....
Thanks for the cache [blue]TeamHurtle[/blue] and the series.[/green][/center]

One of my challenges I set myself for my trip to the SA MEGA was to see how many caches I could find in 24 hours.
Today was the day. I parked the car the night before out at the furtherest point of the caches of the OZ MEGA 2014 and slept the night there with the alarm set for just before midnight.
My aim was to complete the OZ MEGA 2014 caches then start along the Wandering Heros series and see how far I got.
At midnight I started. With no one else on the roads I moved quickly along each of the roads looking for those little 'suspicious piles of stones'. By 6 am I had just the arrow head to go. I stopped the car and changed clothes as I was getting hot in the thermals. ... and the car would not start. 2 hours later the RAA turned up and said I had a flat battery. [?] [?] [?]
Found the remaining caches (except the couple that are now missing) and headed south for the Wandering Heros series finding the odd one along the road.
The Wandering Hero series are different containers at different distances from the road so they were a little trickier to find at times and my find rate slowed down a little. Slowly the day continued and my count continued to grow, passing 200 and 300. Just after 7:30pm I passed 400 caches and I eventually stopped at 8pm exhausted just before Mindarie.
20 hours and just over 400 caches.
Apologies for the cut and paste logs.

Didn't get time to complete these at Oz Mega so thought we'd drop by to finish the job. Thanks Hurtle.
On our OzMega Holiday to Murray Bridge we decided to complete the geo art on offer. So we teamed up with Ogrebeast to complete 200 in a day and this one was selected. Frog_Lady joined in and we had a great day. TFTC and the adventure. SL
On day where i set out at 730 in the morning to ride 94 kms from lovely Bowhill to Murray Bridge and back. I thought to break up the journey on the way back i would do this set.
Thanks for Cache, and hope that anyone who attended the OZ Mega had an absolute ball.
42 Caches done for the day

After spending the Easter long weekend catching up with everyone at the SA Mega event and a morning farewelling the late leavers we headed into Murray Bridge to complete some domestic chores at the local laundromat. All that finished we needed to unwind so decided to hit the Powertrail on our bikes.
We completed the trail within 2 hours which was probably as fast as we would have done it in the Landcruiser. It was good to be out on the bikes and going at the slower pace we were able to enjoy some spectacular scenery and not have to worry about the stop/start wear and tear on our vehicle.
Thanks to all who have helped us boost our numbers and work off all of those Easter eggs!

Sorry for my delayed log. I have backdated it.
I found this cache on the 21/4. The day before my birthday. Teamed up with 2 other teams from the Geocaching Geelong District, Ogrebeast & TR! and went a bit insane. You only live once and I have 'Seize The Day' tattooed on my lower back, so I better live by it!
We logged in short form to save time and space.
We aimed to do the Oz Mega GeoArt, from 1 all the way through til 174. We did that, then we wanted to get to 200 for the day, why not? Not going to get much of a chance to do it again!
Cheers and T.F.T.C =]

We attacked this series with gusto to see if we could finish it in one go.
Had it planned that once we started that we would push on.
What we found was all the caches in good condition and the space
to pull off the road made it a great series. A couple of caches were
not really in their hidey holes but that is to be expected when a series gets
smashed during a Mega.
Got them all!
