Two of us finally got around to doing a walk around the dam to check on all of our caches.
As suspected, this cache was no longer there. The heavy rain and flooding earlier this year would have washed it away.
As high water is a problem for this cache and it is a lot of work to remake, we have, sadly, decided to archive it.

A girlfriend from Melbourne was in Sydney with work for a few days, and she said that she'd love to come and learn about geocaching. Around this point in our hike, we got into such a deep conversation that we forgot to stop and search for the cache! I'm kicking myself, because I had the cup ready to go. But by the time we realised, we had gone along too far, and were on such a tight time schedule that we didn't think that we had time to retrace our steps...
Got to GZ and scrounged around for a bit. Then did some head scratching Found something that may have been the remains of a cache.
Messaged the CO and it looks like we had the right info to log our find but it seems that the recent and flooding in the area has destroyed the cache and log.

Had gone to Allambie Height to collect some caches in this power trail and found 4 in total.
This one was definitely the best. Walked up to GZ, read the description, and......oops - no cup. But luckily had a drink bottle full of water. Very interesting why this needed a cup so started searching. Soon, found something strange and soon had container retrieved.
This was really cool and interesting. Had always wanted to find one of these type. Thanks so much Zarfinders. This one was awesome FP

As requested thought outside the box and was able to retrieve the cache easily enough though the cache tube was very hard to open! TFTC
Clever hide. Lucky I had a drink bottle handy.
Geo-Bunny had to work hard to locate this sneaky hide. Great camo. With signing duties sorted it was replaced as found ready for the next geo-adventurers. Thanks goes to the CO for this cache and for bringing us to this location.

Went around the dam much the the kids disgust. They were not in the mood for a long walk. At least finding some GCs broke it up for them. Loved this one so much that I gave it a favourite. TFTC!
zargfinders I found your cache ZFPT13 - Water Hole on 13/11/20, 2:00 pm. This is my find 2834 and find # 10 today. Had the right TOTT to access the logbook. Nicely camouflaged. Thanks for the cache, mate! TNSLLN
I love this so much! Glad chooks had his water bottle otherwise would have been screwed. FP from me, thanks!
The rule I’ve found often works for Zargfinders ...trust nothing, question everything .
Loved this one, although I didn’t have a cup I had my water bottle. Not nearly fill enough so I drank as much as I could and refilled in the river nearby. Awesome cache. Tftc

This Sunday the weather was very pleasant so it was a good day for a spring walk. Eagle Eyed Monkey Girl suggested to walk the circuit around Manly Dam. It turned out to be a great walk with a big variety of vegetation; bush, heath, wetlands and lots of wild flowers.
All in all we walked exactly 10 kilometers with two extended breaks for tea and picnic.
On this date, exactly 4 years ago, I also walked this trail and found all but four of the ZFPT caches. And even though I also had the coordinate of the Final, I never had the chance to come back to this area and complete the series. So today would be a good day!
Upon arrival, I quickly spotted the cache hiding place. Of course we were initially fooled by where the cache might be hidden, but soon the name of the cache made sense and we had to sacrifice half of our drinking water supply.
But I was quite happy to add my name to the log sheet and tick one of the remaining ZFPT caches from my list.

Went on a cache maintenance trip around the dam this afternoon. We replaced this cache and camo - both had gone missing earlier this year.
Cache has been remade. We're waiting to do a cache maintenance trip until after the next lot of heavy rain that's forecast, so we can check for any potential flood damage at the same time.
Still planning to remake this one. Waiting for a few more supplies and for geo husband to have some time to help remake the camo. Hopefully within the next couple of weeks.
Unfortunately, we haven't had a chance to make the tour of the dam since the COVID restrictions were lifted. We'll try to check out the disabled caches in the next couple of weeks.
It appears that this cache has gone missing. Unfortunately, due to COVID 19, we are avoiding walking on trails where you can't socially distance when passing people. That means we won't be able to check on or replace this cache for quite some time. Depending on how the situation develops, it could be quite a few months.
We hope that the reviewer will be understanding and allow this cache to be disabled for more than the suggested maximum period of time.

Hmm - I found the camo for this a month or so ago (no cup that time) but today we really couldn’t see any sign of it
Today was the day to complete the ZFPT.
So we did it! We finished it in 6 hours.
Had to call CO for assistance. Found 20/21
As we missed a clue we did the guess and check
strategy until we found the final!

Very nice idea. Found the cache easily but extraction took a bit longer. Did it the first time to sign the log but re did again for the satisfaction. Nice idea. TFTC
some others and I found this cache whilst out and about. I am now catching up from some geocache logging after the ozgeomuster and the rest of the weeks full of geocaching. TFTC co's. i apologize for all of the generic logs
Found with Beary_Unicorns, Unicorn Princess and Mighty Minions, TFTC, log is a bit wet
Great cache, cleverly hidden, haven't seen it set up quite like this before. Log is wet and my pen wouldn't work on it. TFTC.
Log regarding the series: Twice a year I am able to convince the fam to come caching for the day - mothers day and my birthday! So with my birthday taken up by kids activities we headed out for a family day out today. We found 20 out of 20 caches in this series! Including the five that had a DNF before us. Geo 4 yr old managed the whole track without complaint, although it took us 5 3/4 hrs to do the whole loop with only a quick morning tea and lunch break. The track was very wet after a week of heavy rain so it slowed us down significantly as we scrambled around the edges trying to keep our feet dry (thankfully the 4 yr old was equipped with water proof boots so at least he wasn't slowed down even further...). Parking cost us $35 for the day - which I wasn't expecting - yikes! We could have parked outside the park but the alternate thought of making the kids walk even further meant it was money well spent. What a great series. We had a lot of fun, pity the weather wasn't warmer, we would have a lot of fun swimming here too. Thanks so much for placing and maintaining this PT.

Well.. this morning was my chance to put as much of a dint in this cache carnival nonsense as possible so I decided to take a trip to Sydney to find some caches with FPs which, to be honest, is not my favourite geocaching thing to do. But I did find *some* pretty good stuff I must admit, including this one I have to say. I also decided to get a start on my Jasmer proper today as many of those caches down here have the FPs too. Anyhow I enjoyed the walk thru this area, effectively doing a very large "loop" in and out. For the style of hide this is and the retrieval method, I was surprised at the (good) condition of the log. The perfect place for a cache like this. Cheers, zargfinders.

I’d heard of a cache like this before but this is the first one I’ve come across. I forgot to bring a cup but being well stocked as is usual for me I was able to fashion a ‘cup’ to do the job. Tftc zargfinders
With hatzofff for a few days caching around Sydney. We stopped by to collect your cache.

Went for a walk around the dam with FlappyBirds today in an attempt to find 20 ish but we fell short of that to 18 attempts
Saw something slightly out of place but we had to use the last bit of water we should’ve read the descriptions before setting off
Found with FlappyBirds TFTC #49 (14 of 18 today)

After a long day at the zoo we decided to go for some caching.
We (jsson, Sivun and myself) logged as IJS.
A sunny day perfect for a longer walk. We started off rather late but managed to walk the series within around 4 hours. We had some DNF and one cache we did not have in our gps. A very nice series with some challenging caches too.
Thanks for placing a cache for me to enjoy and find.

Brilliant design. I've done a few retrievals like this, but this cache has gone the extra mile with the Camo. Another great zargfinders hide and we'll deserving of a favourite!
We knew what to expect when we read the description, but I was still amazed at the well constructed cache when Anominous Sign found it in no time. TFTC!
We saw one like this in NZ a few years ago, so knew exactly what to do. Didn't have a cup with us, but by this point we had collected so many bottles along the track that this was not an issue... Great fun and nicely done, TFTC!
I have not found one
Like this for years. Such a shame the dam water is contaminated at the moment

Found this cache with aries44 on a lovely day well away from home. Haven't been over this way for many years.
Passed lots of very friendly people on our way around the dam.

Aha! my kind of cache . I sacrificed (used it but didn't discard it) my empty water bottle here to claim the prize.

Decided after 11 weeks of full time uni work that I deserved a full day of caching, needs a day to get back to nature and get out of the books and thought what better way then to go away the manly dam. It was an amazing day, perfect weather.

We went on a cache maintenance tour of the dam this morning to replace full logs and check on the condition of the caches.
Water Hole was our thirteenth stop. We were happy to find the cache in excellent condition, as sometimes it's been left in a state of disrepair. Replaced the log and moved on to the next.
Cache is ready and waiting to be found.

This one was loads of fun. I hadn't intended to walk the whole circuit today, just do half.. but when you get to the point of no return.. you might as well continue. And the weather was perfect. Just wish I'd carried more water... oh and a cup. Humans are good at improvising, and the plastic bag surrounding my lunch cheese sandwich worked!! Haha.. Thankyou zargfinders!!

We are visiting from Queensland and staying at the Lane Cove Caravan Park. Today we headed out with wazza9 and Nana Nel to this beautiful area to do the caches in the series around the dam and also a few others that were within cooee. The price of the parking was exorbitant we thought at $28 for the day however pay it we did. We enjoyed finding this cache and caching in this locality. The unique hides kept us on our toes and we spent a reasonable amount of time searching at each gz. Thanks to zargfinders for placement of this cache and adding to our enjoyment of the area.
We planned to enjoy the day with Liz & Bruce geocaching, Manly Dam was the chosen area. Quick find for the day. Signed the log and replaced thanks to zargfinders for the series.
TFTC,
We had planned on catching up with Liz & Bruce while they were in Sydney.
They attended an Event and it was indicated by another cacher that there were some great Camo's in the Manly Dam series. I can remember talking to the CO several years ago about how it would be a good series to do. It just happened that until today life has been in the way.
But what a great way to catch up with friends who are keen to join the experience and it was just that, a great day with friends.
We parked close to #20 thinking that we would probably walk past #21 if we walked in a clockwise direction and avoid any backtracking.
#8 find today. Visited trackables.

I did a few caches at Manly Dam recently and they were great. But when I had a closer look I realised the dam is literally surrounded by them! Decided it would be a perfect place to see what a full day of caching out in the bush would be like. So waited until my Xmas holidays, lined everything up and here we are...
Let me tell you, it was fantastic! I was out there for maybe 8 or 9 hours and had the most fun I've had on a day out for ages. Manly Dam is a super location and the caches were great!!
Mega thanks to zargfinders for the awesome "Zargfinders Power Trail", but also thanks to vk2df, SWAG Tim and The Vikings for their great caches too.

Camo clearly stood out but still could have belonged... very clever... again! And it was clear what was needed to get CIH. But alas... no cup. Fortunately temp was almost 15 degrees cooler than prev day so unlike Lonely Rooster I was able to discard excess... soon had CIH and SL.

I have been planning this caching day for a while. First day of the Christmas holiday gave an opportunity for a day-trip. And what a top adventurous caching day! I regard this entire series by Zargfinders with awe - a lot of planning/work went into this series. It was augmented by a day that started over 30 degrees, then showered, hailed, electrical storm, gusty wind, the works. I experienced the entire year of caching diversity in the one day - today.

Darn. Forgot the cup. And I wasn't going to waste anything on such a hot day. Happily, I had a tuppaware box which had my lunch in it which served just as well

Out this afternoon finding some caches around Manly with Brewmaker, EverestHigh, AlphaDeltaIndigo, Baxter360, and MaxAdventurer. This was one of our finds in the Zargfinders Power Trail that follows the Circuit Walk around Manly Dam.
I really enjoyed this walk, especially the latter half which follows the creek and dam. All of the caches were interesting and creative, with many appropriate for the surroundings. Most were found within a minute or so, though a few were more challenging and took a bit longer. Some of the caches gave us a laugh when spotted, and others would have required quite a bit of effort from the CO to construct and place.
This very creative cache was spotted after a short search. Something just looked a little out of place. Signed the log and replaced it all as found. TFTC

We made the short trek from Section 4 to this cache this morning, geared with all our cache maintenance supplies. Sadly, it took some time to return the cache to its original state. Thanks Loci612 for alerting us that there was a problem. And future finders, if you don't know how to retrieve the cache, please just log a DNF instead of damaging the camo.
Cache is ready and waiting to be found.

A spring Sunday after a very dry spell and we need a walk. A few weeks back we (Ms Atalanta and I) came up this way and found a number of geocaches, and so decided to try to find the remainder along this particular walk. This was one of several imaginatively hidden caches we found today. We found it with a family group nearby, so tried to be as discrete as possible. TFTC.
Came out today with geosons in tow with the objective of completing this series. This one was a quick find by the geoson as it was quite exposed and obvious as related by past finder. This as far as we go in this direction time to retrace our steps Thanks Zargfinders for the placement on to the next 4/14 1DNF Cheers
