T-Tech and I are visiting from Brisbane. Today we took one granddaughter to a Parkour class starting at Lakeside Bridge, and while that was on we went and checked out this cache. It sure took some time to get every shop organized but we got there in the end. Pleased that the checker liked my first attempt Big Grin Love the hiding spot! Have a favourite point for the fun adventure. TFTC, Lachlan1.77.

01-Jul-24
Finally I have gotten around to finding this one. Only read the hint once at GZ and as there were people milling around I needed to be as quick as possible! Glad it was a good hint! TFTC

23-Jun-24
Thanks for puzzle and hide, Lachaln1.77!

14-Apr-24
Ended up getting fed up with the puzzle so inferred location from previous logs, container description and nearby areas that I knew of! TFTC, fav point. CO messaged with picture of cache and location as I forgot my pen

24-May-23
Solved this at the beginning of the month but didn’t have any luck locating the cache. A message to the CO and the cache as replaced. On the second visit we retrieved the cache, signed and returned to its hides spot. Thanks Lachlan1.77 for the puzzle and the cache placement.

15-May-23

G’day, I visited this cache on Wednesday 9/11/2022 and conducted a proactive maintenance check.

The cache and logbook were in working order.

04-Nov-22
Thanks for your patience! This one is finally good to go.

- New map uploaded.
- Puzzle revised.

21-Aug-22
Need a little bit longer with this one. I have to make a new graphic, but to do this I need to be at work, as I don't have the software at home.

03-Jul-22
Hideously busy at work at the moment. Will need more time to get the new puzzle sorted.

25-Apr-22
The final cache is still able to be found, however the map is no longer showing on geocaching.com and can only be found in snippets online. As the map is also no longer being updated since the conglomerate took over the centre, I'll be switching up the concept slightly.

This will be back soon, just hang tight.

23-Apr-22
Worked on this one over a couple of months and in the end had to enlist the help of a previous finder to get the last couple of digits required for the final location.
Stopped by tonight and with the area deserted made the find without any troubles.
• • • • •

Started heading up to the basketball with SirFancy a couple of hours early to get some caching done in the Booragoon area.
After the game we stayed near the city and worked our way through a couple of adventure labs before heading for home.
Today yielded 5 finds, 10 adventure labs and 0 DNF’s.
• • • • •

Thanks Lachlan1.77 for placing Garden City Wander for me and others to find.
I added my name to the log at 18:17 on 22/4/2022.
This is find number 4454 for me.

23-Apr-22
A night with Cirrus_WA caching before the wildcats game and then 2 labs after. Could have only been better if the wildcats had won and if I didn’t DNF a DCell cache.

This is my 1833 find.
Thank you Lachlan1.77 for placing and maintaining this cache.

Nice little hiding spot after great puzzle No one here today so it was an easy find.

28-Dec-21
Upgraded to premium yesterday and out to solve some puzzles and harder ones! Puzzle was relatively basic, but a few of the shops no longer exist.
TFTC

16-Nov-21
Great little hide. Quick find thanks to perfect hint. Grabbing was fine, but we had to wait for an appropriate moment to make for a sleathy replacement. Typed up log in the meantime Smile
All in good shape here. Thanks Lachlan1.77

09-Jul-21
Checked up on the cache today while in the area and all is well. Happy caching! Smile

19-Oct-20
Solved the puzzle long ago but finally got around to making the find. No one here today so an easy find.

29-Sep-20
Checked up on the cache today while in the area and all is well. Happy caching! Smile

29-Jun-20
I came to the SC to collect something and this puzzle intrigued me. I didn’t attempt one of the equations and one of my figures was definitely out and didn’t make sense so I couldn’t use the checker. I resorted to common sense and used an old army method called SWAG (Scientific Wild Ar$ed Guess) to complete the coords. Happy to say I found the cache in the first place I felt (thanks to hint). Worthy of a favourite for the 90 minutes it took. TFTC

19-May-20
Had this info for ages and today we finally managed to pick up the cache. TFTC Lachlan 1.77

22-Mar-20
Have revised the puzzle to reflect the closing of two stores, as well as the subdivision of another that may cause some confusion.

Refer to the highlighted changes for more information.

11-Mar-20
Since Westfield has taken over, a map like the one included on this cache page is no longer available online or at the information counter.

This map on the cache page is still useable and applicable however. Please print or have it digitally available prior to your arrival at the shopping centre.

03-Feb-20
I know the shops well. Quickly sorted out. Didn't do the final until today. Quickly found. I haven't been out there before. TFTH

28-Aug-19
A quick grab here once we realised the Muggle sitting outside was absorbed in her book. TFTH and puzzle Lachlan1.77!

15-Aug-19
Find 8 of 10 on a bike ride around Applecross on a perfect blue sky winter's day.

After some challenging duck caches this was a pleasant change!

TFTC Lachlan1.77!

23-Jul-19
Puzzle has been revised. One store has closed, two errors in the last revision have been corrected - and a duplicate store has been changed.

If anyone needs a copy of the previous puzzle, please message me.

01-Apr-19
How awesome is this place. Thanks

10-Mar-19
Did a bit of proactive maintenance today, checking on my caches around the area. Plenty of room on the log and still good to be found. Happy caching! Big Grin

14-Jan-19
Changed stores due to changes in tenants within the centre. This will likely become an increasingly difficult issue with the imminent major works to begin at the Centre.

31-Dec-18
Arrrr. We are trying to find a word that describes the cache....PALAVA
Palava Urban Dictionary meaning: A term used to express what a load of hassle a task or experience is/was. Usually used when on verge of giving up.
So many places have changed hands.
Shop 152 is now "SILK" (googled to find the original shop).
Shop 191 is now"VERS Boutique"(googled to find original shop).
Shop 106 is now vacant (googled to find original shop)
No idea what UC means maybe Upper carpark ????? I just substituted until a number worked.(second try....lucky)
I was waiting for my wife to do some post xmas shopping so
I just sat in the Food court and used the free WIFI while I pondered the clues and answers.
Good thing the cache was only about 130m and the clue made it easy to find.
I still enjoyed the idea but there will be tweaking required ad-infinitum.
Choosing shops that are less likely to change would be one easy fix.
I'm glad I printed it out before I left home. My page of number and calculations makes me looks like I'm a Savant. I think its a keeper for my memoirs.
Cheers and happy new years eve.

20-Sep-18
Two shops are vacant and one has recently changed hands but still managed to work out answer. Beautiful artwork. TFTF

18-Sep-18
We got creative and solved this cache from the comfort of our casino hotel room, apart from the final coordinate for the easterly number which we guessed correctly. We were able to park nearby and after a short walk arrived at the hide. With assistance from the additional hint we soon had the nano container in hand. We really liked the art work and the whole caching experience gets a favourite point from us. TFTC

11-Sep-18
Thanks for the cache! Figured out the coordinates fairly easily, but took a little longer to actually find the cache which meant I almost missed the 9pm closing time for Woollies! A fun puzzle, cheers.

07-Jul-18
Worked this one out a while ago and very happy to see it back in action. TFTC

14-Jun-18
Tfth. Found with M111 on 14/6 catching up on logs.

14-Jun-18
TFTH Lachlan1.77. Loved it. First finder this year.

11-Jun-18
Several months ago Patch enjoyed solving the puzzle so it was good to receive a CO update to inform that maintenance has occurred here. Luckily we were able to be stealthy enough to make the grab and replacement surreptitious. Hope it remains in play because it's a great wee bit of sculpture here. Thanks for the maintenance Lachlan1.77.

10-Jun-18
Replaced cache

10-Jun-18

05-Jun-18
Been caught up with uni assignments and work over the past few weeks. Will get out here some time this week before I head off to Europe.

05-May-18
The cache is no longer there as previously reported. I have checked the location and the nano is no longer there. The CO does not appear to be involved anymore. Was a pretty good cache.

05-May-18
Will duck up and replace it.

19-Apr-18
Needs to be archived. (Sorry option wasn't available in drop down box.)

As a previous finder, I can state that the cache is no longer there. Was a great cache, but it appears as though the CO is no longer in the game.

31-Mar-18
As a previous finder I can say without reservation this cache is missing. Can CO please attend to the missing cache? Thank you.

22-Jan-18
Only came up with a "Sady" this morning. Great day for a stroll and nice to know we are aware of the artist here; a super piece of work indeed. Thanks for the puzzle anyway and hope the wee cache can soon be found by someone.

04-Jan-18
Spent a long while wandering around gathering the information. Definitely got to the right GZ, but a lengthy search yielded no results. I think I found the place where the cache once was (given the hint) but doesn’t look like it’s there anymore...

15-Sep-17
After completing the D/T Grid and finding the 1000 cache we are now working on bringing the Puzzle count oft 40% ideally to 50%.
This was one of the long-time ago solved puzzles.
Thanks for the cache Lachlan1.77

12-Sep-17
Took a few months to gather the info required so happily stopped off while in the area to log the find.
TFTC Lachlan1.77 this is find # 3261 for us.

05-Aug-17
Solved and found. I've never been to that part of Garden city before. Tftc

09-Jul-17
Solved the puzzle awhile ago and today whilst out shopping we decided to grab this cache. We had to wait around until the muggles disappeared.
Once at gz we spotted the top of the cache straight away. Uh oh moment of we not be able to log our find but after a few minutes search we were able to find the log and bottom of the cache.
We logged out find and have replaced the cache as intended. No maintenance required ready for the next finder. Tfth

09-Jul-17
Stop to grab while out shopping. TFTH

07-May-17
Spent the afternoon wandering garden city getting some shopping done! Stopped for a coffee albeit a long one after getting the Co-ords wrong a couple of times! We were missing one store (shop 106) and had to make a few guesses before getting the tick of approval!! After our shop we headed to gz and made the find after five minutes searching! Gotta love those pesky micros! Thanks for the effort in making this cache and maintaining with the stores changing all the time! Gets a fav point from us!

02-Apr-17
Smile With a pile of ever growing solved puzzles and a stack of unfound multi caches about I decided to add a bit of spice to my caching adventures from the start of March and hunt out mysterys and multis as much as possible Big Grin. I managed to stay away from traditionals while in the area [^].

A big thanks to Lachlan1.77 for placing this container out here for us to find [^].

Lachlan1.77 - jinta29 found your cache Garden City Wander. The cache is in good shape and we replaced it as found. Thanks for bringing us to this location and adding to the wonderful spirit of this game!

25-Mar-17
Had some time to kill so what better way then caching.
Stood and grabbed most of the details from an info board.
Shop 106 is no longer there so i had to guess the last digit.
The description was enough for me to find GZ and the cache.

CO will need to update the final digit.
TFTC.

20-Feb-17
Was struggling with puzzle so reverted to a combination of local knowledge, reading logs, hints, proximity to other hides, and to my surprise came up with the goods. Had difficulty extracting it but it is back in place in good condition. Thanks Lachlan, will email you telling you where I found it.

09-Jan-17

18-Nov-16

15-Nov-16
Found Garden City Wander. Signed in slot 11 of log. TFTH and puzzle Lachlan1.77.

05-Nov-16
After an extended break from geocaching I'm back. The cache is still in place to be found, I am just temporarily disabling the cache while I fix up the puzzle so the stores are all up to date.

Thanks for your patience!

05-Nov-16
Cache is ready to rock and roll! Have fun!! Cool

05-Nov-16
Changes to old shops which were used, that are no longer exist, have been changed. These changes are highlighted in yellow. Please note the difficulty is now 3.5. Have fun! Cool

16-Oct-16
Had solved the cache a number of years ago so today I decided to cross this one off the books. made the find easily even though there were a couple of nearby muggles, Many thanks Lachlan 1.77 for the cache.

10-Oct-16
Tftc lachlan1.77 a quick easy find

25-Sep-16
Managed to get most of the numbers and it led us to an area where there was a piece of artistic creation or two. Almost didn't find the sneaky hide. Great concept/ TFTC!

19-Sep-16
Glad to finally get this one, in collusion with friend; able to despite number of store name changes. TFTC!

11-Jul-16
Definitely a good pick, TFTC!

22-May-16
A few shops have changed since this was created so unfortunately we couldn't get the coordinates for this one. However being a local I had a hunch of where it might be hidden and managed to find it. Thanks this was fun!

17-Apr-16
Thank you cacher Steffles! for the help with missing shop.
Once at GZ, hint was very helpful.
Didn't have a scratching stick, so took a photo of the cache near the GZ.

20-Jan-16
Originally found under family caching name clan-wallace, now re logging under own name.

20-Jan-16
We do have some wonderful pieces of artwork in WA & this is one of my favourites. TFTC

15-Jan-16
Husband & children shopping so I decided to solve the puzzle- now this is something I can do when I can't walk around. Husband got me a coffee and the directory of the shopping centre. Solving the puzzle just before they all returned from their shopping expedition but on my second cup of coffee! Missing shop caused me some concern but worked it out and was excited to realize car was not far from GZ. Off I crutched with family to car & GZ. Needed family help to get cache - can't wait to get rid of crutches and be able to walk unaided!

02-Jan-16
Noticed this cache while eating lunch so I walked over picked up a map and went outside to work it out. I couldn't believe it was only 20m from where I worked it out Smile , great idea thanks lachlan1.77

12-Dec-15
Had some shopping to get done, so I thought I mayaswell make it a bit more exciting and find something in between. Long overdue since I live nearby (I walked home afterwards).
The first mystery cache I've ever bothered with. I sat on a bench on the middle of the centre whilst examining the map I got from the information booth to help me figure it out. Being a local I could name half the shops just from where they were on the map. I even used to work at one!
Once I got the coords I walked to GZ and it wasn't long before I grabbed it (also near somewhere I used to work once!). Lovely relaxing spot to sit too. TFTC!

For those struggling with the missing shop, it might be helpful to know that that shop is still in the centre, but is now facing exactly opposite where it used to be.

28-Nov-15
The Spatial One and I had been planning another Duck run for many months, but it was good to wait as the longer we left it the more Duck Creations were appearing from his workshop !!

With a 6am start time we really didn't rush, and just pottered from cache to cache ticking caches off the list as we went.and stopped for several shady breaks by the river.

We clocked 37 finds and no DNF's, probably a little more down to Spatial's keen eye than my own !!!

I only come to this shopping centre once a year, usually for the xmas shopping, so was saving this cache for this years trip, but Spatial's Armchair approach took to me to GZ before I could get there using the traditional method !!! Though I still might do that to keep me entertained whilst the family are Christmas shopping !!

Have a FAV point.

MM

27-Nov-15
The Machman and I had been planning another assault on the Duck43 caches for some time. Well finally the day arrived and we planned to meet at 6am to see how many we could get done, plus any other nearby caches and a few puzzles solved prior.

Well, by 4pm we had 37 finds and no DNF .. a pretty good effort!

Some caches took a good 10min or so to find but most we had tracked down in only a couple of minutes. As usual your caches were of a very high calibre and we were constantly commenting on your ingenuity.

Knew I'd be in the area today, so solved this one the arm-chair way yesterday in readiness. Glad there's a hint to assist in finding the final ... could have taken an age otherwise! TFTC.

25-Oct-15
Replaced the entire cache, log included. Cache still in original position and was still healthy, just I brought the wrong replacement log! Lol So will take the original back home for a new coat of paint before reusing it elsewhere in the caching world!

Great to see this cache has been so popular! Keep on caching! Smile

24-Oct-15
I will try and get out there soon to replace the log. In the meantime anyone can send a picture through to me via message of the cache and yourself and I will let you log the cache.

08-Oct-15
"Picked" this one.

27-Aug-15
Log is full

27-Aug-15
Broke my pen while trying to get the log out of the cache, then found the log full

20-Aug-15
This is one of a couple shopping centres we frequent, and sometimes we can walk the whole thing trying to find that one piece of clothing (not for me of course Razz).

Managed to squeeze my name on the log. I have a photo too.

Tftc

17-Jul-15
Got to the right place, thanks for the hint to help us find it Wink. A nice and quiet spot I'd never been to. Made a day out shopping much more fun for my boyfriend Razz

17-Jul-15
Log is all full now.

16-Jul-15
Found with Chyokoreto. Forgot to log on the day.
I enjoyed solving the clues and I liked the hiding place.

16-Jul-15
On the only rainy day we have encountered during our month stay in Perth, we found ourselves in Garden City with time to fill in. Thanks for the entertainment this provided here. We gathered all the information but had one shop wrong, so were unable to locate the cache that day.
After assistance from a previous hider the correction was made, and yesterday, after a delicious lunch at the delightful Miss Maud's, we were able to locate this tricky little devil and sign the log, on the only available space. Thanks for the hours of entertainment.
The log needs replacing. Loved the cache container, a very apt piece of artwork.

01-Jun-15
Nice hiding spot. Had to use old shop names and help from azznfee. Log sheet is now full.

TFTC

21-May-15
Had to ask the wife what one of the shops used to be before the reno's!! Solved the puzzle quickly and hit Gz soon after but had a hard time retrieving the cache as it was pushed right in!! Really enjoyed this one. Tftc.

28-Apr-15
I will leave it as is.... people can go online or even ask at the information counter about old stores at Garden City. It only adds to the difficulty! Twisted

03-Apr-15
Thought it would be good idea on Good Friday to head out and tackle some urban caches in the hope that the muggle activity might be a little reduced.

This ones been on the solved pile for some time. A nice puzzle that is quite doable with some diligent research. Arrived at GZ and as expected there was not a soul in sight which is good because they would have witnessed me going over the wrong object before spotting the right object 15 meters away.

With the hint in mind I had an easy find once at the correct GZ.

SLTFTC

I'm looking forward to meeting other geocachers in Busselton at the 'WA GOES BIG IN 2015' event. Registrations now open.

There were a number of shops moved when renovations were done to put the shop Zara in Garden City. This means one shop needed to solve the puzzle isn't there any more. Could the CO please amend that line of the puzzle? This problem has been discussed in logs repeatedly.

Note: Puzzle is still solvable by doing deeper research about the shops or applying some logic with trial and error to get the missing digit.
