Headed out with Duppers for our usual Tuesday afternoon caching session, seems to be a few far between these days, but hey, we made it out today.I found your cache, Row, row, row your boat...... today. This is my 3119 find. After Nelly scaled the tree first and then I joined her, we came up empty handed, so we descended and reassessed. Next minute Duppers had gone up by a different route and soon came up with the goods. Nicely played. With our names in the logbook, we were off to the next one on our list. While we were walking back we did our bit for the environment and collected some rubbish.Nyssaflutterby, TFTC, TFTH & TFTSF
Shazzar66 and I had been to GZ before, but that time, we were a little late in the afternoon and the light beat us. Today, we were motivated to find the cache, particularly because of the roadworks happening nearby. Finally, they're starting to build the bridge!Arriving at GZ, I made mt way up the tree, to where I was last time. Im usually the team Monkey. After a while, Shazzar66 joined me up the tree, but in a slightly different location. Neither of us could find the cache. Eventually, I changed tack, and tried a different location. Using my headtorch helped me, and finally the replacement cache was found. Yay!Im happy to say that I think the cache should be safe from the new bridge construction. Well, at least it should be. A beautiful old fig tree with lots of spots to hide a cache, and sturdy branches to climb. Thanks, Madman04 & Nyssaflutterby, for the cache, and to Davidwazza for the replacement which is secure and in good condition. A Favourite Point from me, for the beautiful tree and the enjoyable climb
Our first cache today and so glad its been replaced as we have been here a couple of times. Thanks David for resuming the life of their dead cache.
A quick climb to sign the log. Knew this was missing so we just waited till someone really wanted it and voila!
After attending a paddle event on Lake Kurwongbah, the participants reconvened to hunt for this one with the assistance of the CO, who had kindly agreed to meet us at GZ. After wading across the knee high water course, we made our way along the path to the spectacular looking tree where Davidwazza made the climb for us. With a replacement cache firmly tied in place after a short but challenging ascent, we celebrated with a trip to the bakery. Thanks Nyssaflutterby
As I mentioned to the CO, this was one of those caches that taunts you each time you utilise Youngs Crossing nearby. Given this cache's name, I had always thought that it needed to be performed by kayak (the Terrain rating may have made me assume this too), but as it turns out, a a boat was not needed. Knowing that I would be in the area this morning, I had messaged the CO the evening before regarding this cache, and a prompt and kind offer to meet us at GZ was received. The finer detail was organised, and we arrived to find the CO patiently standing by.I was going to approach this cache from the north via this path, but it seemed that the more usual route was wading via the small creek, and hence our little group took the shortcut option. We arrived at GZ, and the CO guided me up to where the cache should be; I was impressed with the difficulty that was required to get up, and after searching in depth in that spot, no cache was forthcoming. We don't think any floods have come up to that level since the last find in 04/2021, and a muggle coming across that cache was equally as unlikely, but for some unknown reason, the cache was indeed missing (as the prior string of DNFs suggested). With the CO's new replacement cache and a couple of cable ties that I had brought with me in my supplies, it was passed up to my position, and I found a small fig tree branch section to cable tie the cache around to secure it. The cache was lightly covered with leaf debris to hide it with any curious muggles, so hopefully this allows the cache to last for several years yet. I did ask if anyone else wanted to use the rope overhanging the river, and we all concluded that we would do that next time! Thanks [Nyssaflutterby](https://coord.info/PR5JBVM) for the cache placement and ongoing maintenance. A Favourite Point for the interesting and challenging tree climb, as well as the kind service provided during our replacement!----------Today, a scheduled Lake Kurwongbah paddle by way of the [Kurwongbah Breakfast Paddle](https://coord.info/GCAH20P) event was the morning's plan, and I joined a small group of keen participants who braved the slight drizzle that occurred. Following a couple of priority geocaches in Petrie and Joyner, we parted ways with a bakery coffee and savoury/sweet.With no other definitive plans, I then took an anti-clockwise circuit of Lake Kurwongbah, travelling through Kurwongbah, Dakabin, and Narangba, before returning south and stopping off at various scenic vantage points over the respective lake and Lake Samsonvale nearby. It was then a final walk through Mungarra Reserve finding a few witches, and then I made my way south back home.
I was out with a group of geocachers attending an kayaking event on Lake Kerwongbah and afterward we all decided to head to the cache. Davidwazza had arranged with the CO to meet us there and investigate if this had gone missing. It had, much to our surprise since we're not sure exactly how anyone could have stumbled on it. While Davidwazza climbed up to the hiding spot with a replacement using the CO's preferred route, I found another way up and eventually peaked around this huge tree to see where the replacement was to go. It should be safe now. Thanks for find #5255TNLN
Out for a day with PirateLinda, Giraffe18 and Catboy67, with a couple of tree climbs as the targets…
This was our primary target for the day… we packed the appropriate TOTT, Catboy67 and after finding the best possible parking arrived here full of confidence…
The fearless teenager was up the tree without issue while I stood on terra firma and cringed… making his way further and further up I had to retreat otherwise I was going to loose my breakfast…
I’d called it minutes before, but PirateLinda was still directing Catboy67’s efforts as he danced around the upper reaches of the tree…
Finally admitting defeat, Catboy67 finally returned to the ground and I could breath again…
Perhaps another day….

Dayboro QLD Mega - Day Six:
The sixth day of our mega road trip with buhfuhguh!
Another extremely long but successful day! After spending the day around Dayboro yesterday, it was time to focus on some Brisbane caching. We had Wherigo's, Challenges, T5 Kayak's, Virtuals and Earthcaches on our list to grab. We had to skip out on one challenge series, as the plagues or mosquitoes was literally unheard of. We got attacked in the hundreds the minute we walked into the wetlands, worse than either of us had ever seen! But plenty of other quality caches to get instead!
A great day around Brisbane, 13+ hours of caching all up and approximately 35 quality hides!
Thanks to all the CO's
---
This Cache:
Almost missed this cache as it wasn't on my list, but we were nearby grabbing a Challenge cache and happened to check if anything else interesting was around. Oh a T4.5! Hell yes!
So we wandered along the river and soon arrived, the tree to climb was obvious so instead of standing around and craning my neck, I did my approach and went straight up! This worked a treat, and I found the cache after a couple minutes of searching a few spots.
Cool! Thanks for the climb

Cache 7339 on 3 Apr 2021.
Finally, a real geocaching mission with an airplane flight, nights away, so many caches on the list and a road trip home! Flew up from CBR on 1 April with TikvaNZ to join Fox in Jox for a 5 day full-on mission centred around attending the Dayboro Mega event. Plan is to cache in around BNE, targeting old caches, virtuals, LBHs, Wherigos, DT combinations and anything else that takes our fancy and then start heading home Monday via as many counties as we can squeeze in. We have so many caches on the list we are unlikely to get them all, but we will try our best! Don’t care if it rains or snows - QLD here we come!
This cache: this DT combination was on the radar, so we made our way to it this morning, using CITO parking coordinates . Then a scramble and all was found as it should be.
Thanks Nyssaflutterby for the cache and the fun!

In the area for my kid's 21st birthday and to attend the Dayboro Mega. AngelG27 and TikvaNZ joined me. We signed as Team FAT.
Saw this trad with a nice DT combo. A cautious scramble in the rain retrieved the container.

Rincewind managed to get stuck in a tree growing in the middle of the Ankh. Not sure how a ‘wizzard’ gets stuck in a tree but I’m always impressed that our river manages to grow trees in the summer.
I have been here several times over the years. The cache has obviously changed in incantations several times during that time. Last time I was here with a ladder and ended up with a sprained thumb and no cache
Today, a group of us rounded the familiar GZ. Damn - this area has changed from the veritable forest it once was. Mr BedmakerTG did the honours. Oh. It's there. I began to wonder if I had need the ladder.. and the sprained thumb.
But in any case, the log is signed and the cache was safely returned to its home. Happy to cross this one off today. TFTC Nyssaflutterby

Came to the CITO with CaptainVimes and we soon found ourselves here with a bunch of people. Georode had a look and was unable to find it. A couple of previous finders looking on were pretty sure he was in the right spot. So I went up and had a more thorough dig. It was buried pretty deep and liable to fall through so I left it on a more secure resting place in the same spot. Thanks for the cache
Last time i was here OBC made the climb and went up higher and on a different angle than the cache was found today and we rowed/ -paddled away with a DNF.
Back today for the OBC CITO event and a quick climb by Bedmaker soon had the cache in hand with a small lin-up waiting to do the signing duties.
All Good with this cache

Out early today for an all-terrain CITO - an awesome opportunity for The Kalianna to strut her stuff on the creek. A most enjoyable little paddle in great company as well with the delectable Miss XMini-Bean-Counter my escort and entertainment this morning. A great tree to climb, even in boat-shoes.
Thanks Madman04 and Nyssaflutterby for entertaining me at this location.

Turned up to the CITO early and meet some people already starting. With not much around here we first thought this was going to be a non-event. Then the CO turned up and lead us to where the clean-up was required, yes it was, nice call OBC. There was so much to collect and some very “interesting” objects that justified what this area is used for.
While we were in the area a few of us checked out a cache that is currently disabled. Not sure as to why as we found it after a decent look. We signed the log just before the hordes of people behind us turned up to sign as well. Proof this one is there should remove the disabled tag for this one.
An awesome placement and a worthy cache, thanks to the CO for this one.

Great to see this cache was still in position, just needed a little un-earthing, thanks to georode and Beardman75 for the thorough searching.

Returned today with Mrs Slow Puncture - I was sure it was there, but that I was looking in the wrong spot. After climbing a different spot, and going a bit higher, I found the cache under quite a bit of leaf litter. So it is still there, and the tree is climbable, if you feel safe to do so. Apologies for yesterday's cache blindness . There is a large section that is dead, so mind your step on the way up.
TFTC Nyssa! It's a stunning tree and well worthy of cache. Merry Christmas

Didn't find it today. It is probably still there, taunting me! Some parts of the tree have died, and I wasn't too keen on going higher - there are a few COVID kgs hanging on and I didn't trust the dead stuff to hold my weight. I shall return!
Oh my! What a tree . I first saw this cache when I went for a paddle up the creek, and I dismissed it because at a glance I assumed it was in the tree that all the kids were jumping out of. No —- way, I thought. Fast forward a year and we were in the area for a special geo event, I decided to have a closer look. I knew there was foot access and we now have a TOTT for these kinds of caches. Thankfully today there was not a soul around (the total opposite of our previous visit). Also, thankfully, the container was found in the spot we thought -and hoped- it would be. Our nerves couldn’t take us any higher. Completed signing duties and returned it as found, covering well out of muggle view. Thanks so much for this cache Nyssa, I’m very glad to be able to claim this smiley. And it was lovely to meet you today.
After lunch we were heading home and I asked my son if he was up for one more cache. When I mentioned there was tree climbing involved he was in because his other tree climb today had ended with a DNF. He had eaten about 6 kilograms of scotch fillet for lunch so I was worried about whether he could even get off the ground. I was still more worried about our house's foundations during his next bowel movement.
I also said that he might have to swim to the tree. Well that sealed the deal and suddenly my daughter wanted in as well. I had some reef shoes in the boot for the kids but had to go barefoot myself. It was only a knee-deep crossing and then a nice trail to GZ. As soon as he saw the tree my son was on a mission and soon kicked off the wet shoes to climb barefoot. Goose!
He seemed to be getting around all right but not coming up with anything. I started looking around for holes for him to check and tragedy struck. Whatever leaves were below my feet gave way and I was tumbling towards the water. My life flashed before my eyes and I could feel scratches and pain everywhere. Thankfully a tree root decided to use my tail bone as an anchor and I was on my back at waters edge. I feared the worst but my toes still wiggled. I just hoped my beautiful face was still OK.
The clouds parted and a voice came down from the heavens. "Are you OK old man? I'm two metres in the air in a tree and you were on the ground and still somehow managed to fall four metres". Apart from quite a few scratches and blood loss the only thing I had broken was my arse and it hurt bad.
I clambered back up but I was shook. I thought he would come down to help me but instead did not want another DNF on a tree climb to scar him unlike the multiple scars I had just added to my body (and did I mention that I broke my arse). My daughter had 000 on speed dial ready to go but instead of being overly worried was already talking about a favourite point. Watching your old man nearly dying and breaking his arse is clearly something enjoyable to watch.
I got back up and pointed out a few more places to check and in the last spot the cache was uncovered. I thought about the gold mine I had just uncovered for my chiropractor but I was just happy to be alive. We crossed back over and then the kids thought they might as well have a swim. I would have joined them but my arse was broken.
Two days later and my tailbone has not recovered. I even had to turn down some cot action which hurt more than the pain. The only other time I was in that much pain to miss a cot romp was when I found out my wife was pregnant for the first time. When I worked out what had caused the pregnancy the pain disappeared in 5 seconds. My daughter and broken arse are awarding a favourite point for the tale which I'm sure I'll be hearing about for some time. tftc

A really big thanks to geonayfee for going back to this cache just to help us with the pick up. The cache was there and we were completely cache blind having fossicked in this nook several times. Sorry Nyssa for sending out the false alarm. We didn’t mind coming back to his spot as we used to spot platypus here when we were kids and the dogs love it. A fav for the lesson learnt! Tftc
We looked yesterday and today with the help of two previous finders, one coming to the tree to have a climb with us. Today we brought some ropes just in case we were too low. We can’t seem to find it , we will be back!
That took a lot longer then I expected, but I didn’t want to give up as I walked here after parking on the other side of the river, but after searching for what felt like forever I decided to climb one spot I didn’t have a thorough search at and there it was. Thanks for the challenging find and TFTC.
After a few attempts trying to find this cache I have finally found it.
And i found it quickly as well.
Thanks for the cache.

Down from Townsville to spend Xmas with my parents on the Sunny Coast and after picking up some T5 caches on Lake Kurwongbah today thanks to the kind loan of a kayak from JACS team I turned my attention to some challenges and some interesting DT's.
After collecting the nearby challenge I had a go at this one. With the T4.5 rating I climbed 6 or so metres up checking every hole but came up empty handed.A message from the CO advised me to look lower but the result was the same.
Thanks anyway Madman04 and Nyssaflutterby

With CDAH55 and my wife Dora the Explorer. After a roundabout circuit reached gz. I climb up a bit but no luck. CDAH55 got it
Out and about today with Dora the Explorer! and Phil Serenity grabbing a few caches.
This is a fabulous tree and a great climb, although a little slippery in the rain.
Cache was found easily enough.
The log was signed and returned to the cache and the cache replaced exactly as found.
All is good with this cache.

Right, well I have been waiting for this cache to reappear for a while now. But patience is a virtue, and the wait brought me to today, where I was lucky enough to be able to make a find and claim some unloved.
Now the last time I came to do this cache, my hand was desperately trying to mend after the combination of a scooter accident and swinging out of a tree for a cache caused a break. Now I should say the mending process probably wasn't helped by the fact that I a) didn't go and get it properly sorted by medical professionals, and b) am rather prone to doing crazy things, particularly in the name of caching, and particularly when in the company of my caching buddy (not pointing any finger here at this CO of course, am
I, NyssaFlutterby?! )
Anyway after climbing this tree with a not fully healed hand, hoping like crazy that it would hold up, I discovered the cache had decided not to hang around for me to find it, a fact confirmed moments after by the CO, and somehow my hand and I made it back down the tree without further damage. So of course when said CO mentioned she needed to go and replace this one finally, my no-longer-broken hand shot up in excitement, ready to lay claim to a find I felt I had worked for.
So kidnapping the CO and her cache was the best way to guarantee that this would be MINE, ALL MINE (insert maniacal laugh ).
A quick trip to GZ and reassessment of its hiding hole and the cache was soon in its home, with an additional smilie to its logs. Then it was a quick trip back over the water where we were advised a snake had just been seen, before we headed back to the car - 1GiantPanda rather disappointed that it was the snake's turn to swim here today rather than him.
Thanks for the cache Nyssaflutterby, and all the adventures that went with it!

Well I only had ONE cache to find today to keep me just shy of my 500th for next weekend and NyssaFlutterby suggested she meet me HERE for me to do THIS one. Ok sure I say, after checking that I wouldn't need the yak as my hand is still healing. However I didn't look at the rest of it, and Nyssa forgot that there could be another small issue with my hand at the moment in the shape of a TREE to climb!!! Aaaaaaahhhh! Oh well I guess I can test it out a little. [8)] and hey if I hurt myself it'll make another interesting log at least
So up I go and then start to wonder about the difficulty of a return with one hand. But hey I think I'm up for it, I'm not gonna let a silly hand injury stop me now. [:o)]
And while the CO watches from down below I do manage to pull myself up. Ummmm Nyssa, should it be in this spot here?! Because it isn't. So up comes Nyssa too and confirms the cache is not there! Oh no! I did that and didn't get the smilie after all?! Haha well at least I get to log a DNF with the CO and write a fun log either way .
And at least we could cool off for a bit here before finding another cache to do instead. Thanks for the fun regardless NyssaFlutterby! I'll be back once this cache has been sorted to claim that smilie!!
So up I go and then start to wonder about the difficulty of a return with one hand. But hey I think I'm up for it, I'm not gonna let a silly hand injury stop me now. [:o)]

Well this was an adventure!! We had a few difficulties working out where was the best place to cross the creek and once that was sorted, the second challenge of the day was climbing the tree and finding the cache. After a bit of poking and prodding and blind faith groping revealed the container wahoo! Next job was manoeuvring the pen to sign the log . Good thing there's a Creek for a swim after as we were both drenched in sweat on this humid Brissie 35 degree day!!! TFTC and this was also a blank square in our D/T grid high fives all round ! Quote of the day from Sam (The_Hindsxo) "that's not a park n grab, just saying!" Lol
Just picked up the nearby Seinfeld cache and Elly (chasingadventures) says there is a park and grab nearby, just a short walk away! Off we headed towards GZ... Had a little explore around the tree when Elly informs me it's a 4.5 ummmm.... We really should have checked on that before we got here in the heat!! We both looked up and I thought about putting this one in the too hard basket... Thinking I'd give it a little try, I put down my belongings and started to climb up the tree stopping at every step to check all the holes and crevasses.. nope, not there.. Up, up, up - nope not there either, up, up, up again! I wasn't sure I would even be able to go any higher when I thought I'd try one last idea... 'Found it!'
It was then I remembered that I left all my belongings on the ground, including a pen Elly was able to throw the pen up easily enough, me catching it was another matter!! Finally, (after a minute ridiculousness

Having been dressed and equiped for the challenge caches nearby the T rating had us interested so we headed over. Some muggles were about and we thought we might have to leave it but we realised the hide was far enough away so across the water we went and then up. We saw a likely spot and then after removing some camo came up with the hid. TFTC.
Last week Rhobocacher and I waded across the water in gumboots, joking about bullsharks and getting wet toes. We both attempted to climb different parts of the tree, Rhobocacher managing to get a lot higher in the tree then I did.
So many hidey holes and so much tree to climb!
So I spoke to another finder who said go higher and then spoke to the CO who said she could meet us here today.
Rhobocacher tried to climb to the place the Co was pointing to but wasn't able to get high enough so we watched the Co monkey her way up the tree making it look easy. Rhobocacher climbed up to sign our names and the big chicken supervised (and supplied a pen) from below!
A great hiding place with a great view and the water was even tempting today as it was so warm!
Thanks to the CO for her help

Out with wombles and Co for our 2nd attempt at this one. Today we were met by the lovely C.O. who helped us in more than one way and also jelly the wonder dog. The first time we were here we waded through the water in my gumboots and when I was crossing my gumboots were leaking (they were brand new!!!! not happy jan) anyways I tried climbing the first time but not the right side or high enough. So this time I was on the right side of the tree just not high enough, so the C.O. climbed up like a monkey and we soon had cache in hand. We also managed to score some unloved TFTC
I am heading south to Brissy today and I have time for plenty of geocaching on the way.
It rained a little earlier in the day but most things are now dry.
I parked over the creek and swam across. No one around either.
After much climbing I could not find the cache.

Friday. Kerry from Slow Puncture was out today to pick up a couple of nemesis caches!
After the CO had kindly confirmed this one was indeed in action, I went in to collect this one today, having meant to collect it for some time. Thinking that the container was up further than in fact it turned out to be, I went in for the climb. I went all prepared this time round, had grippy boots on, a waterproof pack draped around the neck with pen, phone and keys (which turned out to be a good plan, as it was drizzling today).
So, having gone too high on the first go and not finding the prize, I retreated back to ground level regrouped. Upon finding that it was not THAT high, I set about on a re-try. After all that, it was not such a hard climb at all (thank goodness!). Log signed and cache returned to hidey spot. Great location! With the sweat from the high humidity running down my back, I beat a retreat back to the car and a towel down. CITO done on local area. Yay! Nice to finally have a signature on this one
This was the 2nd of 2 caches found on today's trip.
Thanks ***Nyssaflutterby***, for showing us this place.

NurseyJulie and I had been here a couple of days ago, making an unsuccessful attempt at finding this cache. Whilst on site, I phoned the CO to confirm we were looking in the right spot. The CO didnt answer at the time, but returned my call later that evening. She offered to come and help us, so, after confirming with NurseyJulie the next morning, a time was arranged to meet.
This afternoon, we again made our way here and met with the CO. At GZ, the CO threw her shoes off and soon had the cache in hand. We were looking in the right area but just needed to get to a different level. The CO generously let us add our names to the log.
I love the swimming hole and the big tree with the rope. What a great place. Thanks for bringing us here.

The day before we walked over the creek and made our way to the GZ. I made numerous attempts to get up there, however I was unsuccessful in achieving this. Partly due to my legs not being long or bendy enough. SelvaGirls put the call out to the CO to check how far we had achieved, but we needed to be up a bit further - and she offered to meet us.
This afternoon, after work, it was still pretty warm and we made our way across to the GZ again. This time with the aid of the CO, she kindly showed us where it was and were able to sign the log. I just need to grow a bit more!!
A great place to cool off on the summer holidays here!

I had been here on two previous occasions, once in the geo-yak and the other on foot wading across the water. Both times I was completely confounded. But then I noticed this cache had been disabled and then reenabled and it was the only cache in a sea of smileys near the Wallaby hacienda. This time I went with resolve. Once again, I shimmied up and down here, up and down there, scratching my head because I know it is there somewhere [:(!]. I resorted to asking for help. Within minutes afterward, the little jerk was in my hand . It had not been loved in a long time and I was going to enjoy the reward of not only finding the cache but adding mileage to a certain other cache that requires caches such as these. Thanks nyssaflutterby for maintaining this cache.
All good to go here Looks like the previous hunters who had a DNF were suffering from cache blindness. Happy hunting!
First cache of the day, and one that helps my D&Ts
Thank you for the hide Nyssaflutterby

#14 of 16. Today I attempted the unique difficulty terrain challenge. I did not complete the challenge but i did find this great cache.
I headed up to this cache after succeeding crossing the creek. In bare feet I started climbing and after shimmying up the tree I soon had this cache in hand or rather in foot as i stepped on it in my quest to get higher up this beast of a tree. Super cool cache and deserves the Fav point coming your way!
Today was also a good chance to help fill my fizzy grid and I generally had fun. Thanks for this cache. Recovered and returned.

With the recent rains this one was inaccessible. Disabling until I can check out GZ. Back up soon
One of my latest goals is filling my D/T matrix, and after an unexpected FTF nearby this afternoon, I was on my way home when by chance I spotted this one on my radar. I pulled over to check it out, and sure enough, it's a box waiting to be ticked. Now, I think I must have seen this one in the lists but assumed it needed a rowboat (or kayak or whatever) so I was really happy to see it could be grabbed via land.
I was also pumped to see it was a tree climb as I admit I'm still a bit cut about a DNF in Nambour recently.
I then had a bit of a guess as to where to drive in to get close, and fluked my way through further and further.
After setting out on foot, I ran straight into a bunch of young guys at the water's edge apparently getting into some fishing (and perhaps a few other pursuits which may or may not have made them a little nervous to see a stranger suddenly appear)... But I just marched on confidently and they didn't seem too concerned.
The tree in question looked an absolute beauty. Only when I was a fair way up did I come across a few nails and boards. I wondered a bit about their purpose, but I had a few more pressing things on my mind.
I didn't see any likely nooks on the way up, and soon I was up at the big horizontal branch, thinking: Surely I don't have to go out there. I decided to start heading down (trying not to look at the ground or river too much) and was very thankful to stick my head around a corner and look down to spot some blue Sistema tucked away. Yes, for once I had climbed too high. Signing the log was pretty easy in situ, and then it was the usual need to be extra careful on the way down.
The boys were surprised all over again as I emerged in a slightly more dishevelled state (a few cobwebs and bleeding fingers etc) but I was really happy with making the find here. TFTC and a Favourite point from me for what is also find #2501.

This one has been an elusive prey for me, we have some history going back a while. This has remained the closest cache to my home which is unfound/unowned by me for some time. Firstly I had planned an attempt to for my 200th find, but after some great climbing came to realise it wasnt there. The next attempt after the cache had been speedily replaced (thanks Nyssa) I was wearing the wrong shoes, an old pair which gave me no grip. Some time has passed since then, but this one has never been far from my thoughts, I knew I would return and be triumphant. Made my way to GZ the dry way. Seems to be more rubbish every time I come here, it really is getting disgusting, great place for a CITO if anyone needs an idea With the right shoes on and pockets emptied except for my trusty pen, I climbed like a monkey up a coconut tree... OK, a very slow cautious monkey that didn't want a trip to monkey hospital today. Cache found, log signed with ink (BYO pen, people), returned as found. Pleased to report all in good order. After my rambling story how could I not give an FP! Thanks Nyssa for adopting and maintaining this beast, it's a beaut.
Needing to fill another day in my calendar I was off in search of a cache. A friend had expressed an interest in geocaching, so I thought, today will be the day and this will be a good one to introduce them to our hobby/addiction!
Hadn't originally intended to stop and grab this one, but as I approached, I finally spied an easy way in! Parked up the Rocket and off we walk...
My friend Ellabye was a little worried as we headed off into the bush, following a very light 'trail'.
As we made it to GZ, I explained that I would be heading 'up there' and I could see the dubious look. Off I went, on the wrong front, but searching every potential location as I went around and up. Ellabye wound her way around the base of the trees looking for ideas on where this cache could be.
I spied a location I wanted to get too, but coming up a bit short, I was about to give up when an idea struck me. Just because I can't physically see 'up there' doesn't mean there isn't a way to find out what is there!
My idea was successful so I reached up and into the place I could not see and was rewarded with the sound I love... Hands hitting cache! I retrieved it, minus spiders (thank goodness!), and signed the log.
Pencil is quite blunt. Definitely need to bring your own scribble stick to this one!
TFTC Nyssaflutterby AND as always, the adventure!

So last week with our inexperienced " little cacher " goggles on we took a quick look at this one, saw the thick lantana from the road and ran away crying with our faces in our skirts [:O)] This week however, with our "big cacher" pants on we realised there must be another way in and found the track . We soon located the lovely tree, and after allowing me to unsuccessfully haul my childbearing hips up to the required height, Freddo was soon up the tree to my rescue with the cache in his hand [^]. Thanks for the cache, the view and the challenge Nyssa!
I have replaced this cache with a 200ml sistema container. I have lost two ammo tins to this location You still need to climb and the hint is up to date. Happy caching!
Coolies, I got a late afternoon invitation to visit this cache and be part of the re-enabling. I thought this was where I just sign the book and thats it. Apparently not, and lucky I put shoes on because I was soon on my way.I tell you something, the hop skip and a jump and a leap would be easier if you were 197 cms tall and didn't have t-rex arms like me, but I did place the cache back in the suitable spot. Its common knowledge I am a fan of a little tree climb and this one excited my beans.
Looks like a great spot to visit in Summer and i can not believe I wasn't aware of it as I lived northside of Shelbyville for may years before I made my pilgrimmage to the bright region.
Thanks nyssa. Lets hope this one survives.

Dearest Inspicio.... Thank you for the timely reminder. Plans are underway to visit my cache two days from now. Hope all is well in your part of the universe
Went to find the cache today and it is definitely MIA Will rethink this hide before replacing....
With this one being close to home I decided I would save it for specially my upcoming 200th find. Pushed thru the long grass and lantana with gusto, and found the magnificent specimen in question. After 3 climbs U summoned the courage to go a bit further, and still was empty handed. After half an hour spent looking in all the likely spots, it dawned on me this would be a DNF. Oh well, no shame in retreat, maybe next time
Sorry for your DNF Orange Crew I will go and have a look for this one today!
Passing this way and got someway to the cache before having second thoughts.
Another day maybe when I have more time and courage.
Thanks for the cache Nyssaflutterby εїз

Love it! Spending the day cache hunting along the river & thought - yeah, we'll give it a go. Stinking hot day so a little wading was not a problem . GPS stared bouncing around a bit, but narrowed it down to a likely spot, then started to climb. Then climbed some more. Geohubby cries the lovely words 'found it!', then balances carefully to sign the log. Climbs down to safety & puts his hand in his pocket. Oh no, he stole the pen! Up he goes again .

Loved this cache!! Parked near the car bridge and found a nice little track to sneak along. The track leads to the rope swing, I could hear a lot of noise as a few local kids were using the swing. Was a bit worried but found the GZ, climbed and located cache without attracting any attention. This has to be one of my favorite caches so far!!
I found myself in the area with Nyssaflutterby who wanted to check on this cache. A small detour from our meet up spot (which was not far away at all, but not somewhere I've been before). We tried one approach, but being the aquaphobe I am, I asked if there was another way.
After parking as close as we could (curse those closed gates!) it was two feet and a heartbeat towards GZ. This seemed an odd area to visit, but have it on good authority that plenty of folk do during the summer when the gates for the dam upstream are opened a tad. The long grass appeared and I took charge, pushing our way through it, past some lantana for good measure. Near the cache site Nyssa pointed but I could not fathom how to get at the cache. She showed the way instead and sure enough, there is a relatively easy way up. Once there, found the cache in good condition. I always love an ammo tin and a cache hidden like this. Geez sorry about the late log Nyssaflutterby and madman but im sure you understand more than anyone. I took my tree climbing brother to this one and climb that tree he did. I have never seen a sight as funny as my brother hanging off a tree like a sloth. It took him quite a while to get high enough as we expected it to be above the flood levels and after a few trips up he found the cache! Thanks for the cache guys!!
Out for a bit of caching today and thought we would start with this cache, sad to say no find for this one today
Yeah !! Right !!
I do know how to get to GZ with dry feet.
But today I was not in the mood for a climb
I might be back one day with an extension ladder
Giddy Up !!

We decided to pop in and try this one today as the area was clear of muggles (well for a while anyway). Got to tree, climbed everywhere I could, but cache was not in any obvious spots, then more muggles arrived with their kayaks!
We'll try again some other time - I really hope I don't have to climb all the way "up there"! I'm not too keen on heights and that sure looks rather dangerous to climb (for me anyway).
TFTUC Madman04 and Nyssa!

Out with IolantheK on a Freaky Friday. Pulled over near GZ and realised we were on the wrong side of the wet stuff. Drove up the road a bit and found some dry access. Kids playing on the rope swing nearby and people in the park across the water. Tried a few spots with no luck - should have read the clue. Got a hint from a PAF that put me where we needed to be.
Out with teamdfl on a Freaky Friday Had some difficulty finding the best way to GZ, but once there we knew what to do. We both did some searching, but couldn't spot the cache Eventually called in a PAF and they told us where and how. Then dfl got to do the real hard yards as I just don't have her reach Took a bit of teamwork to get the log signed. TFTC, Madman04 and Nyssaflutterby.
Found the right tree, but there were too many muggles playing around the water for us to get to this one. There were people standing up on their horse's backs in the middle of the river - weird! Will be back again when there are no people (or horses) playing in the water!
Had to work today, so after work we made our way to this cache the dry way in.
Geopartner made his way to the cache and had trouble signing in the book with the orange pen as he did not have his glasses.
TNLNSL TFTC Thanks madman04 and nyssaflutterby All good with this cache

Had to round the long way because of river heights. Lady Membsec scrambled up the likely way and after a struggle managed to obtain the cache. Signed in a precarious nook, returned then down with a final rush. Thankfully we had the CO close handy in case of problems but the tree-climbing veteran LadyM was up to it.

I was on my way to meet up with barbbowman this morning at 9.30 am when I noticed that this was back up and running.
I quickly called in and made my way down to GZ remembering where the spot was for the cache.
I had not read the updated description for the cache when I got there, so I did not know that the position had changed.
I made my way to where I thought it was and then wham Bam I was lying on the ground and had slid down the hill next to GZ.
I did not hurt myself, cause I go floppy doll when I fall. I got up a bit shaky but okay.
Whoops wrong shoes did not grip.
Made my way round GZ to the spot where I thought GZ was and looked in there and no cache.
Oh well off to meet barbbowman and do I look a sight.
Be Back later.

After the recent rains and release from the dam, it seems the cache is MIA Will replace when I get a chance.
Found with Raimeeshannon. We had a bit of a problem getting a lock on this one with both of our GPSs bouncing a fair bit. After deciding we were definitely in the right general location we finally found it. The hint is handy but also leads to many possibilities when the GPS keeps telling you you are 10m+ out, even when right on top of it. Terrain is a little tricky. Tftc
Late afternoon Cache for JasmineHayley and myself, ditched our shoes at water and went barefoot haha much time spent crawling around gz, location is very visible to muggles on the creek though had a lot of weird looks .
