Find # 14467Out on a big drive, picking up odd caches in out of the way places, driving in some awesome bush areas and the odd walk to keep the legs moving. From home, it was then Bendigo, Toolleen, Heathcote, Lancefield, Baynton, Redesdale, Sedgwick, Mandurang (centre of Vic) then Kangaroo Flat for Munchies before making my way back Home. 27 physical and 1 complete Ad Lab for the day to keep the numbers moving. Most caches were relative logical finds but later in the day I got a couple of tougher hides that chewed up the daylight. Took a bit to find, but was worth the detour for the location. Took a little hunting but following the clue we found it. It’s currently housing an ants nest.

Such a beautiful spot.

Thank you for our first cache

What a fabulous camping spot. I wonder how busy it gets? Geo-pup loved it too. The container wasn't where it was meant to be but I relocated the residents & future residents & returned container. Many thanks

Nice day to drive out to Lake Eppalock. I did a lazy lap and grabbed a few caches along the way.

Seems the peeps camping nearby have gone out for the day. Scooted over to GZ. Reckon the terrain rating is undercooked. Took a couple of scenic pics

So pretty! It's good to see the dam full! Much fuller than some lakes around Bendigo. My dog leg me straight to it. Beginning to think he knows what I'm looking for. Tftc!

Sitting in the car replying to some work emails while others in the cache gang ran off to get this one. Next minute I get a message. “Anikano - you gotta come see this spot”. I got out of the car and am so glad i did. What a gem of a location! A random waterfall i never would have seen without caching. Thanks for highlighting this spot with your hide. A FP from me.

A Monday cache run adventure to Heathcote with Pacman and Anikano.

Wow! What a location, I think my favourite of the day with the waterfall here, was absolutely brilliant. Took a million photos, soaked in the morning, talked about how would never find if not for caching, took some more photos. What a great intro to the area, an easy FP from me!

Great spot. I’m with friends doing the Silo Art Tour and decided to camp overnight at the dam. Thanks for the cache Daisies. Logbook very slightly damp so I waved it about to dry it a bit. Put it back so it wouldn’t get any wetter and should be ok. This is the view from our campsite.

That was yesterday and today was a new day Smile and so a drive in the morning saw Rex and I in the kind of place that I have loved since I was a kid [^]CoolBig Grin[^]
We made the findSmile, got a FTF Cool and collected the CO in the process SurprisedBig Grin[^]RazzBig Grin
Then the rest of the day was spent touring the countryside gathering up 9 Smile caches (including the Twisted nemesis Twisted Redesdale Bridge[^]) accompanied by hembee Cool[^]Big GrinCool
Lots of laughs Big Grin and even more when I had to backtrack 6km and 2 caches to find my phone SurprisedRed FaceSurprisedRed Face which had slipped out of my pocket and gone flying like those magnificent men SurprisedTwistedRazz

Rex naturally rolled in something Razz but luckily it was a dead [xx(] turtle shell and the sticky, grey, smelly [xx(] bit was underneath and he didn't get much on him! [^]
This area is gorgeous CoolSmile and Rex and I had a lovely wander [^] over for a quick find of the cache Smile
Once again, the finding was easier than the openingRazzSurprisedWink

**Find #2418**

Another gem of a location that caching has brought me to. So peaceful here. Stopped and had a cuppa, sat at the waters edge and enjoyed the views. A quick find with the help of the hint. Favorite point for location. Hope to return and do some fishing here.

Thanks **Dasies of the Galaxy**

In warm sunny weather we enjoyed our final day of caching around Central Victoria for this trip. The cache hides were varied, we learnt a little more local history and visited some fascinating locations.
We didn't know about this location and dam until today.

**Feedback to CO:** Replaced wet log.

Thanks to 'Dasies of the Galaxy' for the hunt and cache placement

I took the drive out from Heathcote today,
to find this smaller version of Eppalock Smile

I wasn't disappointed !!
A great drive along the narrow country road,
and a great area to stop and take a stroll around Big Grin
Lots of water birds here [^]

A stroll along the wall and I was left scratchin' me noggin for a while.
Thought's that the cache was on the olde structure out in the water were dispelled when I checked the terrain rating Smile

So where is this cache ??
'Bout 15 metres from GZ as it turned out Big Grin
But an obvious spot if you read the clue and just scout around a bit Razz

TFTC.

Logbooks a bit damp !!

38deg day, but a pretty location.
Carp swimming right up to the shore-line. Also a 1200mm+ very black snake swam past where the swing rope is located! No Wombat today.
Log very wet.

Found on a day out for Father's Day after morning tea in Heathcote. Quite a nice day to be out and about.

What a pretty spot - lots of water flowing as well. We had intended to have lunch here but there were too many dead roos about spoiling the ambiance. Ants have moved into the container and it is now very wet.

Thanks for bringing us here Dasies of the Galaxy

Wow, who would have
Known this was here. Beautiful area. Met by a massive wombat as we approached the cache location (we've nicknamed him "Keeper of the Cache".

All the recent rains have meant the waterfall is flowing nicely. Thanks for a beautiful cache, I'll be back for a picnic.

Are there fish in this dam?

Find #940 for me. Not wanting to risk driving my 2WD on the well-worn side road, I decided to park just off Meadow Valley Road about 250m away and walk in from there. Not expecting to see anybody else, I was a little surprised to see a couple camped nearby, relaxing on their camping chairs and enjoying the peacefulness that this location provided. They were probably even more surprised to see me wandering down the track out of nowhere, but I decided to just wave from a distance and kept moving towards my target. I made a quick find at GZ and took several photos along the way. When I passed the campers on my return journey they called out asking if I found what I was looking for. Rather than avoid them, I approached their campsite and told them what I was doing, made easier by sharing the photos. This is a great location so I'm not surprised that others were enjoying it too, but I certainly wouldn't have known about this area had it not been for the cache. Thanks for bringing me here today Dasies of the Galaxy and thanks for the cache!

Our monthly caching session. We had a good day of caching today with about 10 finds. Many eyes make found caches.

One of our members had been here before. One of the benefits of caching - going to lovely places that are not known by too many people.

It was good to get out of the car and stretch my legs. There was a bit of a powerful 'dead animal' odour as I walked towards the dam but thankfully clear air at the cache site. Thanks for the hint and for the drive through such a pretty valley to get this cache.

Last stop for the day. It had just got dark (6pm). Parked car near dam and walked the 100m or so. Co-ords I thought put GZ near a tree at the base of the dam, but the clue makes it easy to locate the cache in the only logical place it can be on the dam wall. I didn't realise just how large this dam was until I looked back it! TFTC

Once again you brought us to a lovely spot we didn't know existed. Muggle Hubby and I both enjoyed the walk along the dam bank. I am not sure if the redfin have returned but there was plenty of bird life and a good quantity of water in the dam.
Muggle Hubby was the finder this time. Thanks for putting the cache here. Even though it was a pretty hot day it was very pleasant walking along the bank at the water's edge.

Arrived here on dusk.......what a sight!
Plenty of water in the dam and the wildlife was teeming. A lovely quick find and we eventually got the obstinate lid off to sign the log. Thanks for bringing us to this lovely Place and the cache as well. Beware lots of
Mosquitos at dusk

Found at 12.30pm, Another place we would never have visited without geocaching.
A reminder of the destructive effects of sluicing on the environment.
A lovely spot to wander around, would make a pleasant overnight camp.

A beautiful area. Saw a little tortoise wandering off to somewhere. Would be lovely to come back to camp for a few days but, going by the broken bottles laying around, it may not be too pleasant on a weekend.

The frogs were in full voice today. Stopped for lunch after finding a somewhat damp cache and checking out the trickle over the falls. Thanks.

Found at 1pm. This is my first find for the month. Iniatially, I thought, this would be a nice secluded swimming hole, but then I read the cache description and thought, um, nah, probably has mercury and other various mining chemicals.

I made this find much harder than it should have been. I even read the hint and seen gz prior to venturing away. Silly me, it's all basic really.

Thanks for bringing me to this place that has an interesting past.

Sorry Dasies of the Galaxy for the generic log but I'm trying to catch up on my logging, I currently have over 1000 to log before hitting some powertrails in the US after the block party next week. As always I enjoy the hunt whether I'm solo or with some of my caching or muggle friends. Thanks to those who have accompanied me to make the day more pleasurable and many thanks Dasies of the Galaxy for placing this cache.

Found by Roma and Max.
We always enjoy the opportunity to venture into DotG territory on a geo mission, as we are aware there will be something interesting to see as well as the usual challenge to find at GZ.
This was no exception and gave all the appearances of being a good fishing and perhaps camping spot!
We had no trouble with your numbers and found a container that also raised our interest, very suitable for this application.
We signed the log and left a suitably sized pen for the cache.
We did keep our eyes out for the natural inhabitants and were pleased not to see any on this visit.
Thanks Greg for another well researched cache.
Cheers,
frpm Romax.
