We found your cache during our visit to the peninsula. Even though it has been archived, it is still possible to solve and it is still in place. Like other cachers have found out before us, it is not in a good condition. The old log book is a black, mouldy mess. We added a sheet with our name.
It would be great if the cache, or a similar one, could be revived in this spot.
Logging in the hope that this is still acceptable.

One or more of the following has occurred:

No response from the cache owner.
No cache to find or log to sign.
It has been more than 28 days since the last owner note.

As a result I am archiving this cache to keep from continually showing up in search lists and to prevent it from blocking other cache placements.

If you wish to repair/replace/make available the cache sometime in the near future, just contact a reviewer (by email), and assuming it still meets the current

guidelines, the reviewer will be happy to unarchive it.

Should you replace the cache after 28 days has passed please create a new cache listing so it can be reviewed as a new cache.

This cache appears to be in need of owner intervention, therefore I am temporarily disabling it so as to stop it showing up on on search lists and to give the owner an opportunity to check on the cache, and take whatever action is necessary.

Please respond to this situation by 6th August to prevent the cache from being archived for non-responsiveness.

If you require more time, please be sure to post a "Write Note" log (not an email) explaining the situation and how much more time you require.

For ongoing issues please ensure you visit the page and post a note every 28 days so as to keep everyone up to date, or the cache will be treated as an abandoned cache and archived without further notice.

We had to go to Sorrento to do a site inspection for a show next weekend so we decided to make a day of it and do a few caches while we were here.
As Diane spent a lot of her childhood living in Rye the missing information on the sign wasn't a huge problem as she knew most of the answers and once at wpt 1 we knew the answer to the last question. We then continued on to gz where we were quite happy that it was a cold wintery day as we could see how searching would be a lot harder in summer.
We found the cache after about a five minute search and although it was a nice looking container it certainly isn't suitable for the Victorian weather and the log book is almost pulp.
We managed to get our initials on to it and returned it to it's hide.
As the previous finder said this one is definitely in need of some TLC

The BushwalkingBandit was not the only cacher who could have been spotted doing laps of the toilet block, looking for a signboard of some kind - not to be found! One positive outcome was that we could cofirm the figures for DE. We had to rely on past history lessons and some geo-nouse to ascertain AB. Back along the road towards GZ, where we encountered a maze of spider webs and after widening our search located the cache. There is only one word to describe the contents - YUK.

NOTE TO CO: We are not sure this cache is quite the introductory multi experience, mentioned in the cache notes. The treasure is in need of some TLC as well.

TNLN .. . . . SL . . Thanks to Calebhogan for the hunt.

As from previous logs, the log book is soaking wet, needs replacing and new zip lock bag. Cheers, BWBandit.

Upon reaching the first location, we looked around for an information board, must have looked dodgy doing laps of the toilet block! something in the back of my mind told me that there is a sign telling you when Rye was proclaimed a town as you enter the town from Rosebud. I just happened to remember the date, **62. Rest of the puzzle was easy to work out. Mild winter's morning, lovely walk through the Moonah forest. Upon reaching GZ, the GPS was jumping around, couldn't find anything, but sheppy soon had the cache in hand after expanding the search. Thanks for a nice little multi, BWBandit

Find # 3024

The weekend has arrived and it was time to go and find a few caches with my caching mate, SedgwickDave. The weather looked like it would be good for a paddle, so we loaded the kayaks on the roof of the car too. We decided to head towards the Mornington Peninsula area.

We parked within 20m of the start point of this one but could not locate the first part of the needed info. We used some deductions and plotted two possible GZ's, discounted one straight away. A nice casual walk to GZ where we quickly located the cache. Loved the container, however the log book was soaked through and will need replacing. Pretty much unuseable.

Thanks to Calebhogan for the cache.

Found @1130 #3021
Out on a Saturday run with Ahomburg along parts of the Mornington peninsula today and a few caches were found.
After first arriving at GZ we looked for a plaque or info board to answer the questions, finding none we used logic and sense to determine GZ. After a short walk the cache was then quickly found. Nice walk thru to GZ this morning, very peaceful. The weather was rather nice but windy on the beach.

With the answers worked out it was on to GZ. After having a quick look where the GPS took me, I expanded my search area and from the correct angle spotted something that warranted further investigation which turned out to be the cache. I like the camo on this one. Thanks for the cache.

Today I’m off to the east side of the Mornington Peninsular. A few days earlier the weather forecast wasn't looking good and as I left home this morning at 06:30 with the rain pelting down on the way to collect Square_Pegs I was thinking this might be a short day but as luck would have it the day improved the further we got out of Melbourne where it was clear blue skies at sunrise. Thanks Calebhogan for hiding this cache so that I could come here and find it.

Found @ 11:42pm, find # 2197
I was able to work out GZ at home before we left for the Point Nepean night caching trip so it made this a short multi for us tonight.
We headed straight for GZ on our way home and after a short search biggles1024 was able to make the find.
Thanks to Calebhogan for this cache and all the caching fun.

Found this on the homeward journey. It was a quick find at night with no-one around to disturb the hunt. SL TFTC

As with many other people here, it was also a strange beginning for me - standing at WP1 outside a public toilet looking for clues is not an ideal start. Eventually got all the clues, using google, and headed off to GZ. After 30minutes I gave up and was leaving GZ, when I luckily spotted the afore-mentioned "anomaly" and discovered the unusual cache.
TFTC, Calebhogan.

When we set out on our bikes this morning, this was the closest cache. We rode to WP1 and looked around for the information. We were able to get perhaps 90% but we thought we could deduced the rest and calculated the new coords. There were a couple of traditionals further towards Rye so we decided to look for those first. On the return around 12:45 we went to our calculated coords and initially found ourselves close to the beach sheds which we thought was dubious. Doing a bit of cross referencing we spied an anomaly a few metres away. That was it, interestingly camouflaged. No room for a TB. TFTC

Team Mornington grabbed this cache today: Biger12, Hazey1, MrMcGee and Saulman1010.
TFTC, a nice easy multi and stroll to get this one. Thought our co-ords where off but soon had goods in hand.

Found on another TDC with fellow members TrailRunning, Quasar3671, Blacklegend and a special guest appearance my great mate from Wagga Wagga Roostaman, we had a great night with lots of laughs as usual, the boys tell me the Chicken rolls were good as well, I missed out due to my Gluten intolerance.
we crunched the numbers and headed to GZ where the Roostaman made the find of the unusual container.

Another Demolition Crew run, but this time with The Roostaman on board all the way from Wagga..... Great to have him along, as he has cached with us before, and we all had a ball. Tonight's run took us down the peninsula, for a bit of a clean up run. Top night as always, and Roosta, the chicken rolls were great as well.... Thanks to all the CO's for their cache placements.

As Roosta said, a bit of a different start to the multi, but in the end as success, TFTC.

I headed out tonight for a Monday night cache run down the Mornington Peninsula with TDC mates Trailrunning, Rebel Acts and Blacklegend. Roostaman, from Wagga, had travelled down for Rebel’s event on the weekend and joined in for the nights caching. We started with a few caches up north in the Rebel’s territory before making our way down to the Peninsula all the way to Portsea. Once again the weather was perfect and quite mild and we all had a great time.
We had a bit of a slow start at the first WP area, trying to gather the required info and numbers. We worked out some coords and agreed they were correct so it was off to GZ to find the cache. Our GPS's had us searching about the area and there were quite a number of places the cache could be but it was Roostaman who made the find. A most unusual cache container indeed. Thanks.

Left Skull & Crossbones

Thanks for the fun hide! I wrapped the log in a plastic bag to keep it dry for others.

Found during another great run south with the TDC members TrailRunning, Quasar3671, Blacklegend & Rebel Acts. I was in the area for a few days once again and asked a couple of the TDC nicely if I could join them on this weeks adventure. With not many meal stops along the route I was glad I took along a few extra chicken rolls for nourishment. At least it wasn't wild, wet & windy all night like previous trips.
We had a few less finds this week too with a few caches needing maintenance.
Another joyous trip full of fun and laughs, as well as some exciting climbs by Quasar.
A multi with a strange start, but all was good in the end. I spotted the different hide and we got into the log.
Put it all back togethere and then on the road again.
TNLNSL TFTC Calebhogan,
Roostaman.

This cache was found as part of a cache run with my fellow TDC members Quasar3671, Blacklegend & Rebel Acts, and the man from Wagga Wagga ... Roostaman. I've done a few multi's before, but htis was mildly confusing. We were not sure about teh first question, so we googled that... at GZ, the co-ords had us in a different spot, but we found the cache, and wet log book. Thanks.

Run Summary
----------------------
Roostaman, had travelled south from Wagga to got to Eric and Nat's engagement party on the weekend. He was keen to come out caching with the TDC, so we obliged. Armed with his famous chicken rolls for all, we travelled south down the peninsula collecting caches as we went. Not a great night for finds, with many missing, we still had heaps of fun and lots of laughs. Thanks to all the CO's for their caches.

I must admit that I did the data collection/deduction from home last night, so had the final coordinates before I arrived. A bit of scouting around GZ until I eventually spotted the cache. The insides aren't coping too well with the wet weather, and the logbook was quite wet. Thanks for the excuse to visit this great part of the peninsula, cheers!

Found with BorisB&Natasha on our way back from Point Nepean. Couldn't resist stopping for a new cache. Soon had coords for GZ worked out and luckily even with the tree cover the iPhone managed to do the job and led us straight to it. TFTC Big Grin

After doing a couple of caches with Pea bear at Point Nepean we decided to stop off & have a look for this on the way past. Had already worked out GZ so was able to park almost next to it. Once we were in the GZ area the unusual cache was quickly spotted. TFTC

We had to speak to Team Oaky to organise the UV Torch for his Point Nepean Cache so GMelb confirmed that his co-ords were right but that the GPS concentrated him in the wrong area coz of all the tree cover most likely. So with a little bit of a hint from Team Oaky we set off here after packing up everything from the holiday house Sad
G&MMelb tried hunting first without the GPS and so JMelb went back to the car to get better shoes and the GPS. She made sure the GPS was down to 5m accuracy before entering the treed area (gee it's a pretty walk along there) and then after a bit of a hunt GMelb located the unusual hide
TFTC and the fun calebhogan. Smile Thanks TO for the extra hint Smile

We didnt see this one get published.last.night as we were busy playing board games with our visitors.so we saw it about 8.15am today. Gmelb set off and worked out the co-ords but couldnt find a cache at his results. He rang me back at the Holiday House and I tried to contact the CO but got no response so left it for now
Thanks calebhogan

[Purple] Great cache for a hot day [/Purple]

This cache popped up last night but was published far to late for me to run out the door and join the first to find hunters. Would have been nice to go and have a look for it this morning, as it was such a lovely start to the day but I had too much on work wise. At lunchtime I noticed it still hadn’t been logged but still couldn’t get away from work so I worked out the final GZ using the phone and some caching understandings then arranged to meet the girls in the team for a swim after work.

Shorty after arriving at GZ I looked at few likely locations before spotting this crafty little cache, signed the log and replaced it as found. Then it was straight off and into the water for me where the other team member joined me a short time later. Oh boy that was nice way to finish off a days work

Thx Calebhogan for the cache and an excuse for a swim not that I need one on such a hot day

[teal] Merci beaucoup

Cheers Big Grin
