Such a beautiful sunny Winters day so after attending an afternoon appointment I decided the next couple of hours would be best spent on the treadley knocking off a few of The Periodic Table series of caches.

My strike rate was a bit hit and miss along the way sometimes moving along after only a short search due to time constraints so there were a few DNF's in the mix. But seeing as most containers had been either replaced or checked recently, I was thankful for 14 finds today.

Great to see this epic series being maintained so many thanks to Cirrus_WA and to BlaKids for placing the series initially. What a huge task!

Had planned to head out for a maintenance run this afternoon, however lunch isn’t sitting well.

Will be out Saturday morning the check on the series and make replacement where needed.

With school holidays on the horizon I will be out in the next couple of weeks to complete a maintenance run.

Out for a cycle today to grab the final caches in the periodic table series. I alighted at Warnbro Station with my bike, cycle along Safety Bay Rd via Baldivis and then hit the tarmac. Finished up at Kwinana and enjoyed a well air conditioned train ride back up the freeway. All caches were in good condition unless otherwise mentioned below. Thanks to all the COs.

Found easily, but half the container wasn’t there, ie. draw a line directly down the middle of the tube. Needs urgent replacement. Cheers Cirrus_WA!

G’day Cirrus_WA! I am recommending a maintenance checkup at this cache for the following reason: Refer to previous log.

I saw a heron south of GZ in the drain/pond but by the time I come back it was gone.

Log was a bit tough to get out but I got it.

After a big morning at Lake Walyungup, I thought I’d hit the PT series from the bottom of the table up. I made 19 finds and one DNF in the series. This is an excellent series spanning a huge distance. Well done on maintaining it. TFTC

Another 7.6km walk with the young fella to clear up a few caches along the freeway cycle path. Found 12 of 15 (including one at a nearby park) with 3 DNF. Tanks for placing these caches.

Here we began with Nr. 49 and are able to find every cache. Some logbook was wet, than we spent a new sheet of paper. So it was an successful day and we had a lot of fun.

Thought I might start to tackle the periodic table series this weekend as I strangely have the weekend off. Packed loads of water as temps going to be 39 today but I was not to be deterred!

This was our last one of the day and we found a nice new logsheet.

All we now had to do was walk back to our car, in the boiling heat, a short walk from #117. Thankfully there was a service station a mile and a half from our car.
We entered the service station by the proper path and nipped through the fence the other side after our stop. We couldn't face any extra steps. TFTC and a favourite point for keeping the series up.

Replaced cache container. Should be good for a few more years. Happy hunting.

Thank you! As I had a day off work, Photo_Play and I teamed up today to do the Periodic Table caches south of Thomas Road. Knowing that rain was expected in the afternoon, we made an early start on the bicycles. Most caches were straightforward finds, with a couple requiring a more thorough search.

Found It. TFTC BlaKids. My Visa was still current, so I teamed up with Ullyssia and came down to complete the Periodic Table series south from Thomas rd. Great series.

Out and about finishing the periodic table today, hopefully it stays nice and cool for this short run today.

A weekend of caching with Pood, TFTC

We did a little bit of maintenance as we went with the odd log book, but some are in bad condition.

The ride continues.... and the temperature rises. As WebblyWA has found this cache, she headed to the next one, I made the find for megawat60 and me, we SL and off we went to catch up. TFTC!

An early start this morning given the hot weather. Today's mission was to cross off some missing hide dates in Rockingham. So 5.45am the dogs and I headed out. This was our first stop on the way to Rockingham. The Kwinana Periodic Table has been on my hit list for years and hopefully this summer I will get around to doing some of it. But for now this will do. Parked up on what was a quiet street this time of the morning and headed in for the 200m odd walk with the very excited dogs. past one cyclist on the other path on the way in but then had a quick and quiet search, was glad i didn't have to really leave the path because something was rustling down there. Quick sign and replace of log and I was heading back to the car. about 5m from the car a huge pack of cyclists went past. Talk about perfect timing. TFTC Blakids

On such a beautiful day, the whole team combined to complete this last section of the power trail that we had not found. Jax the geopooch had an absolute ball and given that there were few cyclists, so did we. All nine remaining caches were found in good or relatively good condition thanks to excellent coordinates. Thanks to you guys for maintaining such an iconic series.

Out with hhheddy & dezzabills polishing off this series by bike. It's been an interesting journey, reciting thru the table of elements one by one, like back in science class. The overall distance daunting, but just kept focused one at a time; having buddies help search effort and spur each other along to the end invaluable. As anticipated most caches were easy to find and in good condition, some required extra effort; couple out in the open, couple half-buried; dozen wet log papers. In hindsight could've been prepared to dry log papers & bring some mint tin replacement containers.

I have been looking at the periodic table series of caches for some time now. Since I have decided to complete a challenge I need the numbers hence the reason for the run today. I took the day off work and co=opted a couple of fellow cachers, Lazarus_68 and Dezzabills. I thought a couple of days would finish the series off, So today we set off early on our pushbikes with the idea of completing as many as we could manage. As it turns out we made it all the way to the end. We were very fortunate to find the caches quicker than expected. So to sum up the day we found 117 caches in the periodic table and a couple of extras along the way giving me a grand total of 119 for the day. Not bad if I say so myself, and surprisingly there were no DNF's so all in all a great day. The ride down from home in Como took us 6 hours and 58 minutes. While my fellow cachers took the train home I toughed it out and rode home in just over 2 hours. We stopped several times down and back for a break and a bite to eat to refuel the bodies.

This was the 101st find of 119 for the day and was found at 2:05PM Thanks BlaKids/loubla for the cache. hhheddy

Decided today to finish off the periodic table series and rack up some numbers. Threw the treadly into the back of the ute and parked up near Sulphur Rd, Headed south along the bike path and came back via some of the back roads. 28k's and about 6½ hours later I was back at the car totally knackered. Spent a good portion of the return journey walking the bike along the busier roads.

BlaKids I found your cache at 9:08am, this was the 15th of 37 finds for me today and brings my total find count to 2882. The cache was in good order and I replaced it as found.

Up in Perth for a week from Albany, this trail was number one on the list of things to do. Starting in Perth and riding south we managed to find most caches in the series with only 4 that we couldn't find! We had some test tubes of our own which we replaced with some of the more broken containers but unfortunately didn't have enough to replace them all. Thanks for the epic series guys and also for maintaining them so well!

Cache replaced from the resouces of the Freddo back pack. I found the fragments of the previous cache at the pile of rocks denoting GZ.
Given a whole day to go caching in Perth the inner scientist in Freddo could not resist the geeky awesomeness of a Periodic Table PT. With bicycle supplied by .K.B. I travelled by train to Kwinana and folllowed the trail of elements from one end to the other. The cache finds ranged from seen as I arrived, to hides that have me looking for twice the 3 minutes I had allowed. Some caches were replaced. A few caches were unfound and will stand as DNF's.
I know these elements. My job as a metallurgist means that I deal with a large portion of the common 92 at work. There was a sense of pride reeling them off. And then there was the joy of cruising along on a bike on a beautiful winter day that actually feels like an Indian summer.

Day thirty one of the WA road trip with BettyBoo3747.
Spent the day on the deadly treadlies riding a part of the Periodic Table Series. We started in the lower third at Francium, and went south until we ran out of elements, then back to the car for a picnic lunch.
After lunch we headed north as far as Holmium before calling it a day.
Two DNFs and a few replaced containers due to fire damage (BB will send you an email with details), but on the whole most were good hides, and very accurate co-ordinates.
A good sized container to base the power trail upon.
Lots of bike riding muggles (and a caching one - Hi, Clan-Wallace!), but most had their head down speeding along the trail.
A lovely day for a ride and cache.

# 8014. Another lovely Autumn Day, albeit a bit smoky, so Robmc and Idecided to take the bikes out again and make a good start on the Periodic Table Series. It is a great bike path and mostly protected against the wind and the noise - but not always. Francium was our first one in the series and then we headed south. It took us two hours to complete that 30, with 1 DNF - with a few longer searches and some cache maintenance along the way. After lunch we then rode northwards to grab another 19 and 1 DNF.

I have done a few puzzles based on the Table but some of these names today I have found very amusing - Nobelium, Rutherfordium, Mendelevium, Einsteinium, Curium etc. Sounds like they have just been made up to fill in some gaps. I know many are the names of scientists or universities but still they amuse me.

This was the first of the caches that have suffered fire damage along this section. It is broken and burnt. We managed to extract enough of the log to sign it but it needs urgent maintenance.

Headed Off with Geoson this morning on the bikes to complete a major section of this series.
It was frustrating me seeing all those green icons on the side of the freeway as I drove to work so I wanted to get rid of them

3 1/2 hours, 19km, and a lot of smileys later, we called it quits. A great run with most being easy finds. A couple of hunts, and scrambles but all in all an enjoyable morning.

I was more worried about dropping this one when I found it

All the caches and logs are in good condition. Some of the logs looking a bit tired but definatley will last a bit longer.

This series caught our eye back in UK before visiting family in Secret Harbour, so we decided to make a start. Got dropped off at Kwinana Station and cycled south to Safety Bay road. It was a good bike path and very quiet, only meeting a couple of other cyclists. We did meet a couple of snakes and a really nasty looking, large spider. The caches were all reasonably easy to find, barring a couple. The coordinates were mostly very accurate and we had a really good day. TFTC.

After a bike ride around Wellard, I decided to go out to the Freeway and ride north from Mundijong Road to Thomas Road, finding the Periodic Table cache series as I went along. I had much success today, finding all of them along this section of the path. Most were quite easy, but a few had me scrounging for a little while. TFTC BlaKids

Introduced to geocaching by a workmate and really liked the idea of it. Found a few with him and was hooked pretty quickly. He said to try this power trail because it was a good way to get an understanding of what this treasure hunt is all about and a great way to start off. Got a few tips and tricks with a good briefing, signed me up with an account and said to call if I got stuck. Well i must say that once the first couple were found the rest seemed to just jump out. I got the knack of this I think. Had such a good time finding them i didn't read about the elements, will do that tonight when at home by myself and the place is kid free. Was told to cut and paste a big story onto each one so, I guess this is it. Had the day off work and the missus has the kids over in Merredin for the weekend. Got up early today, packed a bag of goodies and the dusty mountain bike and I set off. Backpack full of water and plenty of sangas, I was set for the day. Wasn't sure if I would get to the end but was determined to find a bunch. I reckon the kids will love this when they get back.

Our second day on this power trail with a stretch objective to do all 57 caches that were left - objective achieved, our only DNF at Sodium which was expected after a run of DNFs since the path was re-modelled through that section. Train to Kwinana, ride down to Safety Bay, turn north for 35 caches all found quickly before lunch at Cockburn Central. Quick ride half way to Murdoch then 22 more caches to the finish and the train home from Canning Bridge. An excellent day out, thanks Loubla and BlaKids.

After completing the northern part of this series yesterday, I wanted to strike while the iron was hot today and finish off the southern part. I left home at 8.30am and returned home at 12.40pm after a 33.1km ride with 39 caches and no DNFs. I thoroughly enjoyed the series, and will be happy to do the ride again to collect the few smilies that I missed yesterday. Thanks for the ride and the series loubla and BlaKids.

We thought today would be a good day for a bike ride, so what better than to ride the Kwinana Freeway Bike Trail and indulge both our passion for caching and interest in science by completing the Periodic Table Of The Elements.
We probably ‘bit off more than we could chew’, but what do you do then? Take bigger bites and chew like mad!!
Both Mr & Mrs SKI have completed science degrees in their youth, Mr SKI an Applied Chemistry one. We actually met at Uni in some shared chemistry and physics classes. Mrs SKI uses her qualification regularly, but this may be the first time Mr SKI has really made use of his in over 35+ years. A dubious statistic!
We really enjoyed the ride on another of Perth’s fabulous bike tracks. They are wonderful. Thanks to the crew for the considerable effort that has gone into producing the series.
Apologies for the generic log, but at the end of a long day we are unable to remember individual hides.

It was freezing this morning and I struggled to sign the log. It think its legible. Thanks again for this great series loubla and blakids.

This morning we started to do the second part of the periodic table series, as the first part was only published until no. 80 last year in January. Fortunately it was not as hot as yesterday, but 26° was still warm. It was a nice bike ride along the freeway and we found all containers, saw lots of very big spiders [xx(] and finally solved the Periodic Table.

Nice Holiday Monday bike ride.

I got on the train in Rockingham with my bike and got off at Kwinana train station where I started my caching trip south to Baldivas. This was a very hot day to go caching. I got just less than 40 caches in two hours and one DNF. Thanks for a great trail and tomorrow we will tackle the northern section. Greetings from Sweden.

Greetings from Japan! I found this cache with Mushin-no-shin on our holiday trip to Australia! I was delighted that we were able to rent bicycles and do this power trail while we were in town! It was my first time doing a cycling power trail, but I think it is now my favorite type! We found all but three of the caches in the original series and set new personal records for most geocaches in a day! Number 100! Woot! Almost there! TFTC!

Found while Joo jogged and Eth rode his bike. Managed to avoid the showers for a couple of hours.

Generic log: Decided to do the portion of this series between Mortimer Road and Mundijong Road today. Parked the geo-Camry on Johnson Road near Millar Road and headed North to do first 7 caches on the list. Then headed back to do the ones South of Millar Road ... ended up doing first two caches South of Mundijong Road as well before heading back to the geo-Camry ... a 10k round trip on foot all up and thoroughly enjoyed. SL.
