I Must agree with the previous few cachers. The obvious spots for this are all empty. I think the Sistema was not fire proof and disappeared into the ether when a fuel reduction burn happened in this area.
Appears cache has turned to ash with recent burn off. Hopefully will be back in action again soon.
Ill add our name to the list of DNFs. There are a couple of obvious hiding spots at the GZ coordinates and if there is something there I couldnt see it. I expanded the search looking in all the obvious spots but still nothing. Ill watch this space if someone does manage to find it.
Next stop on my exploring of this new (to me) area. Certainly looks like a fire has been through recently and try as I did, I couldn't spot the cache. Looking at the most recently posted photo, the area certainly doesn't look like that now. Wonder if it became a victim of the fire. Photo attached of where my GPSr was pointing me, but absolutely nothing there. As a result, I didn't try for the other one nearby as it may have suffered the same.
Thanks anyway KamaBugs....

Found in pretty good condition. Loads of butterflies flew out of the hole as I approached
After a great night at the Bunjil lookout it was time to set off this morning to Smythesdale for the events and some caching in the surrounding
We had a couple of false starts in to this one with a few of the tracks blocked. Third time lucky and we parked almost within arms reach.
Thanks KamaBugs for adding this cache to the worldwide collection for us all to find.

Mr Morris has a few weeks off but with border restrictions we thought we'd do a slow lap of Victoria while we had some good weather.
After a couple of nights staying with friends in Ballarat we headed to Smythesdale to the free camp on the Ballarat-Skipton Rail Trail although we are not tackling that on this trip. After setting up camp we headed out into the bush not really knowing what we would find after the nasty storms over the last few days.
Joining forces with AusFox: we attempted to frive to this cache but was thwarted by a large and immovable roadblock and without the appropriate TOTT we had to hoof it from there.

I decided to head out to Enfield and surrounding areas to find as many caches as possible in a 2WD.
The recent windy weather has caused a lot of limbs to drop and trees to fall which made some locations a little more interesting.
I joined with The Morris in there 4WD to work our way along the trails. As we got close we discovered a fallen tree across the trail, so we continued on foot to GZ
Log signed and replaced as found.
Thanks for the Traditional Cache KamaBugs

Easy enough to find, could access part of the track in an i30, and walked the remainder to the cache.
A nice drive and walk through the wildflowers which are just beginning to peak, to the cache.
Cache was a nice quick and easy find.
TFTC and enjoying the spring wildflowers.

This little cache remains in good working order after 7 years in the bush.
I was in the area visiting Surface Hill mines so paid a visit here down the road. Nice walk in through the wildflowers.

Today I headed to Ballarat and surrounding area with biggles1024 in search of COTY nominated caches as well as some members of the first Victorian 500, we also picked up a few others along the way.
Seeing that this one was just up the road from where we parked to get the last find, we continued on to this one and was able to make a quick find.

Find #4432
Traditional Find #2768**
I headed out today with SteMicMitSar to Ballarat to attend an event and also some of the caches that have been nominated for the COTY Awards and also some particularly old caches. We came here for Steve to find a cache that was published in May, 2002, one which I'd already found. With Steve having found that one, we decided we might as well try for this one too. The temperature was dropping by now and so a brisk walk to GZ was in order. I needed the exercise. It was a quick find and then another brisk walk back to the car.
**Thank-you to KamaBugs for placing this geocache**

Find #2402 for me. Found with virbull at 3:40 pm while visiting the area from Bendigo. Driving a 2WD we had to walk to this one from Doctors Road but it was only 400m on a great day to be out treasure-hunting in the bush so no problem for us. After our little walking workout we made a quick find at GZ. Thanks for the history of this placement in the cache description - nice little story! We didn't see any kangaroos today but I've seen so many while walking to other bush caches that it has become a pretty common sight. Hopefully Bethany got the chance to see more kangaroos in their natural environment! Thanks for bringing us here today KamaBugs and thanks for the cache!
I much prefer the bush caches and very rarely go after Urban caches. Today I was geocaching with friend, Claybol, in this region. Lovely day, sunny, cool breeze and starting to feel Autumnal. The perfect geocaching day.
Thanks for this placement. Had a great walk and relaxed.

I leaped out of bed very early this morning to meet up with DAB to make the most of 2020's leap day. We were keen to get out on the road early and see what was in store for us. We had a list of caches we wanted to check off. We packed the geo wheels with plenty of supplies and took off in the early hours of the morning. And what a fantastic day it was!
This is a cache that has long been on my list, just never getting out here to collect. We parked the car and walked in a short way to find the cache without trouble.
**Our thanks to the KamaBugs for placing this cache for us to find and enjoy**

So pleased that we decided to take the 4x4 to the events that were on today. We got to do so much more, this being one of them. Thanks for showing us around this great area with the placing of this cache.
Love the places that our 4x4 takes us. This was a nice quick find for the group of us today. Thanks for placing it here and bringing us to this location.

LTF Caching day out with Papi4506/Geoturtle37, OzHockeyChick & crank1 , thank you so much for placing it KamaBugs.
Parked right beside it, took off running, only to realise we’d gone miles the other way talking nonsense. TFTC found with randy pan
"Why not start the new caching day with a good olde stroll through the forest", I thought
So off I raced from the car park at the start of the races
The path I followed to start with took me closer to GZ for a while,
but a bit of cross country work was going to be needed
Time to follow the straight line to GZ
Always fun in the Aussie bush !!
So down dale and up hill I trudged,
crossing a couple of races along the way
GZ was found after 1.5 k's of mucking around,
and there was the cache
A lovely way to start the day [^]

With a nice change of cooler weather today after the heatwave it was good to get out and find a few 4wd caches in this area with Theo the geodog. This was our first find for the day and a good leg-stretcher. Lots of butterflies out this morning. CIGC TNLNSL TFTC KamaBugs
Nice peaceful diversion along our travels. Definitely no muggles to hinder us here. TFTC.
Found it on a caching day out with Sunsong1, this track was okay for us as beginner 4wd's, good fun and no stress. Tftc

A day off work and what else is there to do.... yep, go caching in an area I've never really gotten into and to do some site seeing on the way around
Not having a 4x4 means i get lots of bush walks in on days like this.
Thankfully the day was not your typical Ballarat day and I enjoyed the walk from the road up to this one and the other close by. Think it was a little over 1k of bush bashing, but it was a great stretch of the legs.

We came to Ballarat for the GIFF event yesterday and have decided to spend a little extra time here today. The drive in to this cache was quite an adventure, we certainly would not like to do it in the wet. SL TFTC
We don't have a 4WD so we just parked on Doctors Rd and walked about 200m in from there.
It was a lovely walk and the cache was found easily at GZ.
Thanks for the cache hide.

Found as we enjoyed a lovely day exploring the area, glad muggle hubby was driving as he managed to navigate geowagon through the tracks, (and water lol) after a short search it was soon in hand, log signed ans replaced as found, Thanks for bringing us here and for all the fun
A nice find on an enjoyable day caching in and around the Enfield state forest.
Caching this afternoon with the whole family (hubby and geokids). We decided to come here as I tried to attempt this one yesterday but wasn't keen on the 4wd tracks by myself. With hubby here though we soon made quick work of tracks and had the cache in hand. So much bush out here to explore! Many thanks
Had a nice drive getting here, apart from going around a corner and nearly hitting a parks ute coming the other way. I think he was away with the fairys. Lol. Cigc. Tftc

Pumped by the experience of The Skipton Cave Event, the Scarsdale speed limit sign slowed us down in time to make time for a few local caches. The GPS'r was in a bit of a fluster about the access to this one, a few extra twists and turns and we got there in the end.
Our thanks to KamaBugs for bringing us to this location.

Doing some caches around the bush area today, and this one is a good find out here.
Doing a spot of caching in this general area with The Tritonz after a failed first 2 find attempt nearby. Lucky I was with them as I'm sure my car would have been next to useless this time of year [xx(]
Thanks for the cache it was in good condition.

Caching in the area today with Wozzle68 after getting a nearby 2tf . Luckily we were in the trusty 4x4 today as there was a lot of water over the tracks and I'm sure a normal sedan would have been limited to how close it could get to GZ.
Thanks KamaBugs for the placement in this interesting bushland.

Not familiar with area and not having a map, I was unsure if I should walk in or drive. Driving won out. What's the point of having a 4WD if you are not going to use it !! Had a ball driving right next to GZ. A quick find, everything is in great shape. Thanks for the adventure and TFTC Kamabugs.
Nice drive down a bush track to find this cache, ego hubby sets off through the bush on a small walk and finds easily. Replaced cache and moving on
After trying to decide which track to follow we realised we were right beside this one all ready. Cache in good condition. A beautiful day to be out in the bush. Cheers.
We were in the area getting another cache, so decided to make this one a smilie. We needlessly hiked 200 meters to the cache. Geodog loved the walk, The cache is in good condition. Thanks KamaBugs.
Suscoe was having a clean up day in this area as this cache had been on the list for far too long.
A delightful drive in to the area on a foggy morning.
A nice walk to GZ was spoilt by rubbish dumping nearby.

Drove to GZ in the fading light this evening and made the find by torch light. Caching with McLookers, Tomstache and Motndarg. Thanks for the hide.
It was getting dark, our last find for the day. We managed to drive right up close to GZ. We made the find pretty easily using a torch. The cache is in excellent order, quite dry. Thanks for the hide. Caching with Motndarg, Glanville Girls and Tomstache.
Thanks for the cache, cool cache. It was nearly dark when we made the find. Too dark to find the nearby cache. Good swaps. Found with Glanville Girls, Motndarg and McLookers.
Arrived at this spot in the dark, torches out to search for the cache which was found after a brief search. McLookers, Tomstache and Glanville Girls all signed the log, which was nice and dry. TFTH
This cache gets the 'best cache of the day' from me!! I've had so much fun tonight in the 4wd driving to this cache, it even helped me with my 'get ute muddy' mission, I went the long way!! So great area thanks. I will be back, maybe in the day time next time
My car got a beating visiting these caches! I'm sure the sides are scratched nicely, and we got some stowaways.
Found cache, took nothing, left nothing.
Thanks!

The Demolition Crew were together again for another legendary caching run, and again, out to Ballarat area after starting in Melbourne. About 65 finds for the night in the company of Quasar3671, TrailRunning and Rebel Acts. Another fun filled night, plenty of great caches, and a night where Rebel passed 8000 finds, fantastic. My thanks to all the CO's for their cache placements.
Extended the search and found it eventually. I think we had a joint STF here. TFTC.

Found in the company of Quasar3671,Trailrunning and Blacklegend (aka The Demolition Crew) on another Ballarat caching run, we still had a few to do in town since our last visit and a few new ones had popped up. A great night was had by all with lots of laughs and good times, we celebrated my 8000th find. took a bit of looking to find this one, we found it 13m from GZ, I have taken a reading and attached it to my log. My thanks to KamaBugs for the cache.
This cache was found as part of a TDC cache run on the day/night of 21-22 Jan 2010. A nice drive to this cache. Thanks for the experience.
Run Summary
----------------------
The Demolition Crew had been preparing this cache run for two weeks after our last cache run in the Ballarat area only a few weeks ago had left a number of caches behind, and the caching community had placed a number of new caches in the area; so it was timely that we return to finish what we had started.
Rebel Acts (Eric) was creeping up to his 8,000 find, so it was going to be a celebration of big numbers and caching in great company. It wasn't long before the 8,000 mark was hit with a FTF on a cache called "A Local Family's History" in the northern suburbs of Melbourne. At this point we headed west through Melton, Bacchus Marsh, Enfield and then into Ballarat proper. Clearly the highlight of the night was Eric reaching the 8,000th cache, but the three Earthcaches and another D/T crossed off the list were also personal highlights for me. Thanks to all the CO's who have put the effort in placing and maintaining their caches.

Myself, Rebel Acts, Trailrunning and Blacklegend (aka The Demolition Crew) planned another Ballarat cache run for tonight as we still had quite a few to find since our last run and some news ones had also been published since then too. Ballarat Smackdown III was soon devised with the route planned and the cache list ready to go.
It was another perfect day and night for caching and there was a definite feeling of deja vu. We started the run around the northern suburbs of Melbourne, picking up a FTF along the way, before heading west through Melton, Bacchus Marsh, the Enfield State Forest (which I personally love driving through) and into Ballarat city itself. During the run Rebel Acts also found his 8000th cache which was a highlight for the night. A big thanks to the CO's for spending the time and effort in placing the caches we found.
We stopped by to find this cache as we headed north out of the Enfield State Forest towards Smythesdale. This cache was a bit of a challenge to get to and once there we spent a good fifteen minutes searching in all possible hiding spots, continually expanding our search area. I eventually located the cache about 13m from our GPS reading for GZ. As it turned out this was my 6400th find as well. Thanks KamaBugs.

Great four-wheel-driving fun when you go the long way! I saw this one had still not been found this morning and as we were already planning to assault Enfield State Park this arvo I thought we might grab a bonus FTF.. but Bushfire bet us to it!
Having been in this area before to look for the nearby Dolls House cache I assumed I knew the track but after getting lost in the woods we finally found our way home to the cache.
Thanks for the fun KamaBugs

The ageing Bushfire intended to look for this guy today until two early fire calls this morning but I was determined to get up to Ballarat for a days caching even if it meant a late start.
I originally intended to go to Buninyong and then across to Skipton for this new cache Bethany but decided to follow the GPS and again it took me the long way around but I have seen things that I have not seen before.
Arrived in the area but the GPS indicated a wander through the bush so proceeded little further and then found the track to the cache.
Spent some time looking for this guy but eventually it was found and I was very happy to see that the log had not been signed.
Thanks KamaBugs for placing this cache and showing me this area that I have never been to before.
