In Darwin for a work conference so I dragged a friend along and tacked a few extra days in so we can do some exploring too. Today we tackled Litchfield and this was a quick find on the way back to Darwin (trying to get one in each LGA). A neat hide here - fav added for the craftsmanship! Thanks
A quick 5 day trip to Darwin included finding this cache. This is my first trip to the northern territory and is my final state / territory in Australia to visit. The weather was certainly different to Tasmania. It is great to explore another part of Australia. Thank you for hiding and maintaining this cache. Found on 8 October 2024Thanks for the cache
Im back in Darwin for a week visiting family and today I met up with low1 for a third day of geocaching - this time south of Palmerston. A quick find of this fun cache container. The outer lid has slightly melted in the recent fires but otherwise everything is fine. Logbook signed and replaced as found. Fp. Tftc
Loved it. We were a bit worried that a fire might have destroyed it but it was still all good. A must do!!!! Very clever
Awesome cache thanks for this delightful one! Interesting history! The cache has survived the burn back log book is full! We left a sticker for the next kiddo cache hunter Thanks for a super fun find
We made a short stop here on the way from Kakadu to Litchfield National Park. We were able to find the cache quickly. Unfortunately, the TB we wanted to take was not there.
Found with DennisC52 while on our half lap of Australia. Thanks (owner) for the cache.
Found with Loopy1972 on our half lap of Australia via Darwin, QLD and NSW. Thanks TiedyeSmileys for the cache.
Heading south from Darwin today for a few days in Batchelor while we visit from Sydney. Really interesting history here. And a very clever container which is suitably tucked way to only suffer minor damage in a recent controlled burn. SL TFTC Cheers Gaztek
Day 4 of our Australian trip . We stayed for some days in Darwin and today we pick up our car .This cool "box" was worth for a stop .Gave a favo!TFTC# 17'104
Found, his nose got scorched during the recent burn off. stamped log and tried. Thanks to CO a great hide.
TFTC,Out gathering old NT caches and LGA's.Visited trackables.A must find end to a great day.
Picked up a TB and dropped one off.Clever cache. Well playedWe are supporting our mate who is running to Darwin (@curlyrunsnz). He started at Stewart Island in November, just south of the South Island of New Zealand and made to Cape Reinga at the tip of the North Island by New Years Day. He then flew to Tasmania, ran to the ferry terminal in Devonport and sailed to Geelong. Since then it has been a long hard slog across Victoria and into South Australia up the Stuart Highway but he is now close to the finish line in Darwin.TiedyeSmileys, I found Park your plane here today. Thanks for placing and maintaining this cache.
Found with Deefa71 on a quick trip to Darwin. Dropped off a TB for further travels. Tftc
Everything is really overgrown currently and was raining to top it off so probably not my best idea but a find was made.TFTC
In Darwin for a few days from Perth doing the touristy thing and picking up few smilies here and there when I get the chance. Today we took a road trip through Litchfield NP some great sights to see with some amazing waterfalls.Had a few picked out for the trip and this was one of them. Very cool cache construction here, awarding a favourite.TiedyeSmileys I found your cache at 4:04pm, this was the 7th of 7 finds for me today and brings my total find count to 8417. The cache was in good order and I replaced it as found.SLTFTC
Nice find with woolwood9 today. Day 3 of our 9 days in and around Darwin. SL *tm/ww NZ* *Thanks for the reason to visit the area!* Good quick stop for the cache - very cute container!

Fantastic little find. We investigated this historical site on a previous visit in 2016, so today was just a quick cache collection mission.
Out n about with m4yb grabbing a few caches.
Indeed a very cool cache and interesting spot.
Thanks for the hide & TiedyeSmileys

Day 44 of our greynomad trip up north and after a the JLWEvents, a tour of Maralinga and caching to claim LGAs in the Eyre Peninsula, we are attempting to escape the southern weather that has been wet and windy.
GPS had me going in circles until I took a deep breathe and used my cache sense. Had just placed back when we spotted fellow cachers Lee and Samuel coming to GZ, Nice to meet you both
TFTC SL TB's visited FP from us.

Today we’re heading from Darwin to Litchfield for a few days before continuing on to Kakadu then back to Darwin, and of course we have to grab some caches on the way!
How cool! Met some other cachers here which resulted in a very quick find. Great little container, the main outer has a melted lid, but the inner container is still pristine… I love cool metal caches, especially double container-ed ones, I think that deserves an FP from me!
Thanks for placing and maintaining this cache TiedyeSmileys

On the road again! Today we’re weaving our way to Litchfield, specifically looking for interesting DTs and 4’s particularly.
Nicely double containered! The outer is a little melted, but hanging in there…. We bumped into Greg and Judy at GZ.
Thanks for hiding this cache!

So much history up in the NT and this a bit more of it.
This trip was sort of in place of a trip to a Mega that got canceled due to accommodation problems, I was quite happy when Goose said do you fancy to caching break in the Northern Territory as this would be the last State or Territory for me in Australia.
Our plan was to fly into Darwin on the Friday night have a couple days in the area then start heading South stopping overnight whenever we needed to, our next goal was the drive to the geographic centre of Australia at Lambert Centre and then head back to Alice to fly home ten days later.
We both had a great trip finding some important old caches, large ones and the odd clever one too, we found Ammo Cans all over the place which was nice as i think we have found most of the ones at home in Tassie.
Thanks for the cache.

Heading back to town after travelling to Adelaide River finding WFTM on the way down and MM on the way back. Had to stop in at the planes and geosis guided me to this one as my phone was on charge. . Absolutely favourite point for this cache effort.
On a business trip to Darwin I was looking for some caches and quickly found one here.
Greetings from Germany and TFTC

We dont own a plane to park here but Mr Kooka reckons he would like one. We flew to Darwin from Adelaide which was a nice flight although it was bizarre to get out of the airport at 2300 hours and it be so warm.
Great history displays through the Northern Territory regarding their involvement with the war, we had no idea how involved Australia was, there appears to be heaps of airfields dotted all the way to Katherine too.
[Verse 1: Angus Stone]
She said, "Hello, mister, pleased to meet ya"
I wanna hold her, I wanna kiss her
She smelled of daisies, she smelled of daisies
She'd drive me crazy, she'd drive me crazy
[Chorus: Angus & Julia Stone]
Gonna take her for a ride on a big jet plane
Gonna take her for a ride on a big jet plane
Hey, hey
Hey, hey
[Verse 2: Angus Stone]
Be my lover, my lady river
Can I take ya, take ya higher?
[Chorus: Angus & Julia Stone]
Gonna take her for a ride on a big jet plane
Gonna take her for a ride on a big jet plane
Gonna take her for a ride on a big jet plane
Gonna take her for a ride on a big jet plane
Hey, hey
Hey, hey
Hey, hey
Hey, hey
[Bridge: Angus Stone, Angus & Julia Stone]
Gonna hold ya, gonna kiss ya in my arms
Gonna take ya away from harm
Gonna hold ya, gonna kiss ya in my arms
Gonna take ya away from harm
[Chorus: Angus & Julia Stone]
Gonna take her for a ride on a big jet plane
Gonna take her for a ride on a big jet plane

On my way to Perth via Darwin with a few detours for LGAs. TFTC.
A nice stop point. Place is empty. Cache seems nicely protected from fires.
