Lone tool on the ground. Think it's been broken.

10-Feb-14
Naked, dismantled tool on the ground and no sign of camo Sad

10-Feb-14
Well this one has been a lot of fun, but it looks like it is time to retire it. Thanks to those that did look after it while it was there, and for all the favourite points.

06-Feb-14
This one is great, very well thought out. One of my faves so far

So clever. So awesome. Actually lost my mind finding this. It's late at night so no one saw me lose myself.

Finally!! CJ and I found this one today on the way home after swinging by and having 3 DNF's previously. This one has up till now eluded us.

Each time we had found the extraction tool and tried the same locations as today. However, today we found in seconds. I had tried this same spot last time to no avail. The container does look brand new and is in good nick. We signed the log and quickly replaced it. Fortunately no muggles were around the cache at all today. With the past DNF's we had muggles galore every time and had to wait out for the right time to make the search. So today we were really pleased to come up with the goods.

Anyway, it was a satisfying find and a great day to chase down more nearby caches. Thanks flatfoot&family for another of your caches. SL TNLN TFTC

27-Jan-14
Figured out where it was going to be, and located the cache almost immediately. The 'removal tool' however was not where I expected it. A quick scan around I noticed something 'unusual' lying on the ground some distance away, went and had a look and discovered it was more than discarded litter.

As the removal tool was not in its actual location I am not 100% sure i put it back where it was supposed to go, however it seemed most fitting.

TFTC, a great spot to sit for a while.

Found today with AM. SL&R. After reading last log found today, I was a bit puzzled, as AM and I left the cache exactly as we had found it, with extraction tool in place. Perhaps a muggle visited the GZ between the finds and fiddled with it while seated there, not realizing what it was? Anyway, great idea for a hide and extraction method. Very clever cache, thanks, Flatfoot&family!

GC44R39 Ring a Ring O'Roses

Geocache: # 1,107.
Found on: Friday, 10th January 2014 at 6:32 AM.
Current streak: # 164 days.
Today's finds: 1 of 1.
Caching party: none.

I headed out in the early morning with the new geo-pup, Squizzy, to keep the current streak alive and also take him for a walk. I decided to stick a little closer to home today and headed over to Linfield to attempt this particular cache. Once at Ground Zero, it took me a few minutes of searching before I made the find and had the Cache In Hand. I performed the signing duties before returning the cache to its original hiding location. Signed Log, Took Nothing Left Nothing. Clever idea and cammo, Thanks For The Cache flatfoot&family.

Yeap, great camo. Well done.
Maybe some maintenance is required on parts. Tftc

05-Jan-14
Just too clever. Took ages even when the gentle prodding of a Phone-a-Friend. I wish the Etrex had older logs!?!

Perfect spot while we grabbed lunch.

TFTC.

28-Dec-13
I found the extraction tool but not the cache. Will keep think about this one

01-Dec-13
Found the cashe after a little bit of my own brand of maintenance. A cork was blocking the cashe so have removed it and the universe is right again.

01-Dec-13
Thanks to danger Larry's maintenance skills we managed to get the cache out and fix it for others to locate. Who puts a cork in their??! Awesome cache

07-Nov-13
Shopkeeper came up and abused us. Apparently the garden was destroyed a week prior.
Recommend caution on this one

04-Oct-13
We called in here on the way to a movie at Roseville and parked easily behind the station. After a scout around GZ we thought we knew where it was, so bought some lunch down the road and sat down at the right spot. As soon as other diners left I grabbed the cache, but it did take some time. Thanks for an excellent hide, we really liked this one, very brazen and different.

23-Sep-13
Wow. someone sure did a number on this one. End cap ripped off which couldn't have been an easy task and then the attraction device removed as well. Anyway have replaced that and tested. The container still can't come out of the back end of it's home. Please replace the tool with just a hint of wire visible so that it is not grabbed by a curious muggle.

21-Sep-13
Didn't get it this evening. Drats .. because it was relatively muggle-free. Found the big container but didn't have what we thought were the right extraction mechanism with us. Re reading logs we think there may have been one on site. Will be back before long. Cheers... Gaztek

18-Sep-13
Having hidden a cache that uses the same type of retrieval method helped here. I was very impressed with the way it was placed, top job! Thanks flatfoot&family, fav' point from me.

My second visit to this cache and today I managed to sign the log. Initially, I thought I was going to have another DNF as I couldn't locate the required tool. Is it supposed to be on the end? Anyway, I let my fingers do some searching and soon came up with something that looked quite attractive. With my cloak of invisibility on, I ignored the muggles, and began a methodical search. My first attempt proved fruitless but I soon discovered the cache container and managed to extract it on my second attempt. This certainly made me smile! Well done flatfoot&family on a great little caching experience. Just wondering, are the nearby shopkeepers aware of this cache? I'm happy to give this one a favourite. Big Grin

Hard but good and a bit of muggle trouble took a while to get and put back TFTC

24-Aug-13
Mateo found it! Good looking!

22-Aug-13
Wow! I found the outer 'camo', and sat and stood and sat and wondered how I might get the cache out without looking too suspicious. It was lunchtime so people were around and I was caching by myself .... This will be a good one to bring kids to, so perhaps some quiet weekend I will be back. Awesome cache all round!

14-Jul-13
Diabolical Smile but oh so fun. TFTC.

11-Jul-13
Should be working better than ever now.

10-Jul-13
Sorry just another temporary disable - went to put a new log in as the old one was almost full and decided to make one of the parts more secure. Just need to let some glue cure overnight and it will be back in action tomorrow.

09-Jul-13
All good again - the container was actually still in the camo. Please replace everything exactly where and how you found it. The end that opens should be fairly obvious. The container itself should at the other end, about 20 cms away.

04-Jul-13
Did half the maintenance today. Hopefully will be ready in a few days.

24-Jun-13
Looks like this one has been damaged. Will need to get a few parts before we can fix it.

24-Jun-13
I had a bit of time up my sleeve while waiting for a client so went in search of this cache. I think I found the "outer" container but that's as far as I could get. I will need to try again another day. Thanks flatfoot&family.

17-Jun-13
Had alt of fun finding this one. Very clever and fun. Went with waterfist and had a great time looking for it.

16-Jun-13
Great cache. Yes, u need to think. The first is but a tool to the end. TFTC

15-Jun-13
What an awesome cache! Parked nearby on a very busy Saturday morning. Had the kids with me so it was a bit easier to look around. Fortunately no one at GZ. Saw it straight away, but took a few goes to work it out. I must have looked like an idiot going round and round in circles! Definitely a favourite for me! TFTC!

10-Jun-13
Awesome! With the public holiday today we thought it would be a good time to go look for this one. I took the two geogirls. At GZ we found the end and I wondered at the strange shape. A moment of inspiration and I worked out the technique. Big geogirl had fun locating the micro and then little geogirl had fun replacing it. I'm glad I took them along. Nobody really looks at children doing strange things. We all loved this one. TFTC.

18-May-13
We had time to kill before our chiropractic appointment, so Dad suggested I give this one a go. He'd already found this and had told me all about how it's done before, so it was easy. It wasn't too far in, I think. Mum & Dad were amused watching me go around. Then I had the cache & signed it; hardest part was rolling the scroll back up. I put it back further around. Cool cache - TFTC!

16-May-13
Love it! What a lot of planning has gone into this one.
Found 30 minute parking some way off, walked towards GZ, time wasted waiting for lights at pedestrian crossing, 2 muggles nearby so sort of had a look at the location. Finally they rushed to the station and I was able to check things out more closely. Finally spotted something that made me wonder what it was used for, sat down, luckily just at the right spot and soon had located the open end. So its in there, how do I get it out? [?]
Checked watch - have to go parking about to expire. Sad Back in the car checking directions to the real destination for today and a lightbulb moment, ah I know how to get it. Big Grin
So at the end of todays activities a detour back to Lindfield. Lucky parking almost at GZ, unlucky someone sitting right at GZ so fiddled around checking timetables, shoelaces and finally the muggle left.
Had the cache out, log signed and cache returned in a couple of minutes.
Thanks for the challenge, I enjoyed it! Big Grin

Me and my pal found the puzzle great!

01-Apr-13
I took my mother (E Rabbit Esq) out for an afternoon's geocaching.

She was very impressed with the ingenuity of this cache.

I did the ring'a'ring business while she looked at me in a somewhat bemused fashion.

The "sticky" end of the camo had come unstuck but that hasn't diminished the fun.

I spent an afternoon geocaching with my son, Tyreless, and this was our first stop.

Very ingenious! It's difficult to look inconspicuous while extracting the cache from teh camo but we did our best.

Hoffing good cache Very Happy
TFTC Well hidden and AMAZING retrieval method!!

17-Mar-13
This was found on our "Hurry up and get pprass to 9,999 caches" caching weekend. They are celebrating at an event in April so better be there before then! This cache is amazing. There are a lot of aspects that left us wondering how, what, where, why, etc, etc. A Classic nonetheless. Fav point awarded. TRY IT OUT!!!!!!
Thanks for the cache
Cheers from Browngang.

17-Mar-13
Found at 9:28 AM on our "Get to 9,999 cache finds before the Myriads and Milestones event on 21 April" with Browngang. This was a GAFF1 find.
What a wonderful idea for a cache. Not sure how the CO has got away with it, but there it is! Chris worked out what to do in seconds and the cache was in hand in just a few seconds more. No one btw seemed to care what we were up to.
Thanks flatfoot&family.

09-Mar-13
After buying our second kayak nearby we wanted a find tonight. So we went to this nearby cache, which I'd heard was good.
Walked around geozone a couple times but couldn't spot anything. They said a micro in a bigger camo. Where on earth could that be?! And then geomum spotted it. Ah. Nice. Stands out so much once you've found it!
We were wondering what to do next so we reread the description and then I realised what we had to do. Ha!
So I retrieved the cache, signed it and replaced. The cache was so good that we thought that geomum should swap with geodad (who was waiting in the car in our not really parking spot) and find the cache himself.
Thanks for a fun cache, definitely a favourite. Not sure what's wrong with it either (re maintenance note).

07-Mar-13
Oh yeah. I love this cache. In fact, it's probably one of the best ones I have seen so far. Great little puzzle and fantastic retrieval mechanic. Muggle activity was not too bad at 6am, and nobody seemed to mind a lycra clad cyclist doing weird circles around the GZ with phone in hand Smile)) TFTC

PS: I didn't think it needed much, if any maintenance.

07-Mar-13
Will go and check on it tomorrow.

06-Mar-13
I'm giving this a favorite point for originality, even though I did not come up with the final cache. I found the container, just not the rest. I wrote the CO to check it, cause maybe it was just my lack of certain skills.

So a final cache on the way home. I parked and walked over and found it straight away, but wait, what's this? So after a little think, I realised what was needed to do. Lucky for me I didn't have far to travel to get the cache. I SL and replaced it, this time much much further ...hehe...I mean that's what it's about right! Great little cache FF&F, loved it and an interesting little puzzling thang. Oh, and a FAV from me. TFTC

Passed it as norm thus morning when going to train. It needs maintenance. Regards

24/02/13 4:55 PM. Cache #454. Current streak: 168 days. After 2 finds and 2 DNFs in West Pymble, I had time for this one. I'd received a half-hint from a previous finder a week or so ago, and had worked out the rest myself. Sunday afternoon was a great muggle-free time to attempt my two revolutions; pausing every now & then when cars were stopped. Enjoyed this one; great fun. TFTC. }:)

10-Feb-13
Really great cache definitely my favourite

04-Feb-13
This had been recommended by a friend and, passing early this morning, I parked very close and had the search area to myself. I approached the big spiky thing wondering where to start but then I realised the description didn't quite make sense. Standing back, I noticed something a bit odd, so sat to think about it. As one thing came apart, an idea came together and I took a revolutionary approach and found the little blue cache. This must be lots of fun on a busy day. Earns a fave for not being same old same. I wonder how long it will stay here. Thanks FFs.

02-Feb-13
Out for an afternoon of caching with rinsemesocks and Equipe de Fous.
After Tools of Mass Distraction EDF suggested another FF&F cache up the road we could do. Bumping into sjamp on the way to the car made us a team of four. Arriving at GZ EDF and SJ started low so I tried the high ground, but they seemed to spot something almost straight away.
While RMS and I tended to our overtired kids and the meltdowns a method was uncovered. The kids had fun doing the work involved apart from arguing about who would do what. No muggles seemed interested which is the beauty of a large group. A nice piece of work. I haven't done anything like this since our last visit to Questacon. Cheers.

02-Feb-13
I was just a spectator in this as the geokids were very tired. BA, EDF and SJ took the running. Lucky the kids were happy to help with this one which disguised the whole operation. A very clever idea for a cache. Cheers

02-Feb-13
As we were leaving Tools of Mass Distraction, I rang sjamp to thank him for replying to our request for help, even though his reply was just in the form of finding out what stage we were at, because it is always nice to get a reply. He asked where we were, and I said we should meet at this cache. However he was already waiting for us in the carpark for TOMD, as he had come to either offer guidance or just sit back and enjoy watching us suffer. However we had already found it, to our great relief. So it was good to have a chat about caching with him, and he joined us on on next adventure up the road to here. At GZ it was sjamp who more or less knew exactly where and what to do before the rest of us, and in a small about of time the children took turns to help retrieve the cache.

Without giving anything away, we wondered how this worked given the materials, and on a close inspection we found the construction employed to achieve the desired result. Two FF&F caches in one day - both excellent - and I have to go out soon - stay tuned to see if a third is possible!

02-Feb-13
Just as I was getting ready to embark on a secret Mission Possible I received a distress call. A question was sent in reply, however I hatched a plan to visit the other agents on the way to my mission.

Arriving at a known carpark a call was received - EdF, RMS & BAs had had success and were returning to their vehicle. They were headed here so I decided to join them. Reading the description I made an assumption that the retrieval method was the same as another cache I had done - and sure enough it was. The younger members of the team managed to complete the manouvering and we then had a log to sign.

It was great to finally meet Bells Angels and Rinse Me Socks, and good to run into Equipe des fous (another local) again. I enjoyed this version so thank you FF& F for another quality creation.

This appears to the cache-of-choice for wet days... I wanted to end a long work week with a cache, and liked the thought of a cache accessible by public transport. I got off at the station and walked out, and immediately spotted GZ. Really, there? Chutzpah! I was thankful for the rain and its de-muggling effect for the evening rush-hour. I took a moment to figure out what needed to be done, so did it and had CIH. I signed the log, and then made the mistake of putting the log in the wrong side, and took ages to remove it so I could get everything back in place. Sigh. I then once more did what needed doing and then returned to the station, satisfied. Thanks for a fun and creative cache!

28-Jan-13
Another rainy day and I was still desperate to keep the geostreak alive as I'm in the final straight. This one was promising, only 10km as the crow flies from home and one of the nearest unfound. Parked around the back and some people sat in a car nearby - I thought they were signing the log but they drove off later without getting out. Proceeded to GZ where I quickly spotted one of the 'larger' caches I've seen. But I had no idea how to get it out at first. Looked secure. I re-read the description and had a better idea. On closer examination I found the weakness and was armed with the tool I needed.

Did my second circuit (having done a reccie before) and managed to get the cache. As I was signing the log an older gentleman asked what was going on. He'd seen my circuits. He was very intrigued and interested as I showed him the whole shebang.

I then did my third round and replaced the cache. It was much easier this time as I had the technique worked out. It was a good day with the rain and few muggles although I do wonder if it were crowded you'd be noticed less - the old "hide in plain sight" thing.

Definitely one of the best I've done for a while. A favourite.
Also 92 days and still going strong!

Thanks!

27-Jan-13
Thebest cache I've found by far. Had the geowife and I chuckling once we worked it out.

27-Jan-13
Sunday morning. Decided to start the day with finding a cache but the rainy weather was not helpful. Searched my geocaching app for a cache which would be doable in rain without getting too wet and found this one. Now, this cache is from FF&F and after completing ''The Tools of Mass Distraction'' recently we should expect something unique, maybe even sneaky. We were not disappointed!

After arriving to GZ, still under a nearby rain cover, geowife quickly spotted the camo. I went to remove the cache but.. nothing in it.. it appeared. Well, it didn't take long to figure out what was required, I did my rounds and voila! Took the actual cache to the car, did the signing duties and returned the cache using the removal process in reverse. Got back to the car still relatively dry and were off to a cafe for brekkie.

Thanks FF&F for another amusing hide!

27-Jan-13
Well I have been walking past this twice a day as I entered and left the station. Today, quiet, raining I went back to tackle it and figure what to do. Eventually I got it! On replacing it it wouldn't move. Fortunately I could remove it again. I figured something was missing. Fortunately I found said item, I had dropped it. I replaced it and returned as it should be. Suggest this small enclosed item be securely wedged in or glued? Tftc

25-Jan-13
Replaced the container with a more attractive one. Should work much better - you may still have muggle delays though:) Logbook will be much easier to take out and replace as well. Please replace log in the lid first then close container. New equipment will make replacement of container into camo much more efficient too.

24-Jan-13
A qucik find on passing through the area this evening. Quickly spot the large camo and the soon realised the task at hand. The longest part was getting the log out of its final holder so some tweezers may help for the next finder. Completed the signing duties and put the cache all the way back. A nice differernt cache. Really Where to start!!!
Just came back from my big day out geocaching at Dee Why beach and just settled down on the couch at about 5:25pm and got 16 new emails, 2 of them new listings.

Well just like Akkatracker thought they were miles away but one was a Lindfield which is just two suburbs away from pymble. So I quickly asked my mum if she could drive me up to Lindfield as she was going along the Pacific Highway to drop of our babysitter at her friends house.

Of course she said no. But she told me I could catch the train down to Lindfield so I decided that was the only way I could get FTF.

Hopped in the car and she drove me up. Quickly got out of the car and raced to get mu ticket.
Justed missed the nearest train, so had to wait another 10 whole minutes, WHAT FTF IS ON THE LINE!!!!!

10 minutes later was on the train and got my phone out which I had just charged up from the big day out geocaching. And was tracking every metre until I was at Lindfield.

Arrived at the Station and raced to the wrong side and kept going down to the backstreet until I realised that the GPS was getting further away. Had to run back across the over path and down to where I found 100 muggles, 2 flatfoot and family and 1 palm tree. By that time I was catching my breath from to massive 300 metre sprints.
While I had a quick look around and read the description, that's when I realised that the two smiling kids were the CO's.
I had another quick search and Ahaa whats this, Ohh Aaa maybe, no cant be and two heads were nodding at me and I took that as yes you have found it and indeed i was right.
Tried but nothing.

What is this peculiar cache, It doesnt look like the apparent method in working. Tried the other way around and it attached, Sam, I think is the boy's name of FF&F, soz if I got your name wrong, said Congratulations you are FTF, Woo Hoo my First, First to Find.

But 4 muggles were sitting. Damn It So close But Ohh So far Just like the clue said.
Was waiting for about 10 minutes before one lady said "do you want anything" and as she is a muggle I and FF&F said no thanks we are fine.

And then the lights changed and 3 of 4 muggles left but still one to go.

So FF&F just chatted about the rain and how it is about to pour to try to get the muggle to go away and eventually it started to rain a bit heavier and he left for cover but acctually went over and chatted to the mum of FF&F to ask what we were doing and she kindly explained to him.

I was in got it quickly out before another muggle came and just at the end Akkatracker sat down, NOOOO!

He never noticed me though get the cache out so that was brillant, and I walked under cover where FF&F congratulated me in silence.
I had a bit of trouble getting the log book out but the chopstick came in handy, Thanks for that FF&F.
Signed Log at 6:05pm.

FINALLY MY FIRST FTF, Thanks so much FF&F this is definitely my Favourite cache and this is why it gets a well dissevered FAV point.

Now replacing without Akkatracker seeing, I said I was going to try the feel around again but acctually replaced the cache while doing that.

And then went back into cover and right at that moment Akkatracker had found it, That was so close.
Akkatracker was pretty dissapointed that he didnt get the FTF but was happy in 2nd.
I said good bye to FF&F and Akkatracker and I was off only to find my train was delayed by 40 minutes.

Oh well.

TFTC, SL, TNLN, FAV Point, FTF

Thanks so much

2TF Sad
Once again another great cache by flatfoot&family. Came home after an epic Officeworks Expedition to find a few new caches listed. Of course there wouldn't be a cache close to us... what's this 0.9 miles away?! A new ff&f cache- In Roseville!--- I'm out of the door.
Oh wait... the cache isn't in Roseville (Very deceiving name Wink )

Charged up the street and had to make a crucial choice- walk or train. I decide to run. A few hundred meters on and I'm at Lindfield station. Pull out phone. Punch coordinates in. Phone shuts down due to low battery. Sad

Turn on again for a last drain of battery and run in the drizzle. Phone is as bouncy as a Kangaroo. Run around and realise it's on the other side of the station. Climb the stairs and walk across the overpass. Go to GZ and Ring a' Ring a' Ring a' Ring until I notice someone else is looking. Happens to be Wakko Akkos.

From there on it's a bit hazy but Wakko had found the cache a few minutes before I had arrived and replaced it a few minutes after I had arrived without me knowing.

I found the camo but it turned out that Wakko had removed the log and the end covering and led me to believe a different story that that wasn't the cache.

Found the cache once Wakko had replaced thinking we were joint FTF but turns out that he signed the log FTF at 1705. And without me noticing half of ff&f (the part I haven't met) were there

I SL as 2TF and replaced the cache at 1718 and began the trek home in the rain.

Thank ff&f for another creative local cache (I really must hide some more fun ones )

I think someones been watching a bit of Youtube recently Wink

We realised we probably were too late for a FTF, but gave it a go anyway on our way to the Cache Us If You Can cache.
Interesting concept.
