As bum often says to me, "It will still be there".Thanks andy.gail for the effort.
This cache was on the verge of the chop so I thought I better head up the hill for a check. Track start is not at culvert anymore but 20m back and marked by a white topped post. Track markers are blue. Track is still in use as I met 2 people who had come up from the bottom. Note - the terrain rating (4), it is no walk in the park!Searched a number of trees and at the 3rd one the cache was found. Cache and log completely dry, in great condition. Not bad for being in the wilds for over 11 years and unfound for almost 7 years. Bumandworker caches rarely go missing - he has secure placements. For future finders a spoiler - not quite the 1st or 2nd tree, 4 metres up from creek, 2 metres up from small punga, top side of tree and track, don't trip over the vines!Replaced as found with rock on top - no maintenance needed. All good to go.Another one saved by - **Bum's Workers**
I had to ask another hiker to show me the start of the track form the top. The hint was not useful as there are many trees before I ever got to GZ. None had the cache. I may need to bring reinforcements.
This was the last cache for today and I was running out of time. I didn't spot the track but didn't look very hard. I'd like to come back for this one.
No joy today. The track seems to have been moved if I am interpreting CO’s description correctly. Rather than coming in from the culvert there are two cairns about 20m down the road, on the true left of the creek.
No sign of a cache in any spot hinted at, either at the start of the track or the edge of the bush where the creek comes down.

Exploring the mountain bike park on foot, a nice afternoon and a wee bit of caching,
A quick find with TregearP on a Saturday afternoon walk in the Richmond hills. We came at the cache from above which was very reminiscent of the our first cache in Tyre Stream in Wellington where we left the road on a steep slippery decent through bush, vines and rock into a stream bed.
Cache nicely tucked away, well protected and ll in good order. Took nothing, left nothing, signed log and replaced as found.
Thanks for the cache.

A couple of false starts and we finally found the track to the creek. In low light a few likely spots were checked before arriving at the correct one. Signed and replaced, we headed back to the 4WD track and daylight leaving the rest of the creek ones for another day.
I did not find the pipe/culvert but I did find a 'trail' that was marked with a cairn, so down I went. GPS readings were erratic to say the least, but I kept at it knowing I probably wouldn't be this way again for a while. My plan was to go from the top of Reservoir Track and head back down to Easby Park picking up the series of geocaches along the way. Having secured Trickle Track, I headed off toward [Reservior Waterfall](https://www.geocaching.com/geocache/GC44T1K_reservoir-waterfall-nelson) following what I thought was the track.
It was my own fault, because I did not heed the warnings or the terrain rating. Be advised before heading down Reservoir Creek that it is worthy of the **4-star terrain rating** and that the track is overgrown and not for the novice, at least as of this posting. There is a warning sign at the other end of the track (see photo) which I wish I seen prior to going down Reservoir Creek.

Went on a big adventure with Wafflekitties and geo pups, had a blast thanks for the memories! TFTC.
Found while on a winter holiday with LCBuilder and our two geodogs. We spent 3 weeks travelling down the east coast and then up the west coast, setting our tent up at a different campsite each night. We didn't have any real plan, just went where the caches took us we saw a lot of awesome sights and will definitely have to come back one day as 3 weeks isn't really that long!
Finally made it to Sunny Nelson, definitely one of my favourite places.
This was one of our more memorable days, we spend the entire day up on these hills going from cache to cache. Beautiful day for it, we were all exhausted by the end (or even before the end), I don't think the dogs moved another muscle all night once we were home..
This one took sooo long to find! Maybe because the hint didn't make much sense from the direction we came from.

Having just found Reservoir Waterfall, I continued up the track and eventually zoomed into a likely looking location. Gotcha!! The last cache in the creek series and after signing the log and a wee scramble further up, daylight beckoned and I was back onto the "road". Thanks BW!!
We wanted to polish off the last of the "Join the Dots" series which required quite a bit of walking so we decided to start at number one and end up coming down Barnicoat Rd. So StreetWalker put his bike on the bike rack, dropped me off at the Cropp Pl entrance to Dell Reserve then drove to the Marsden Valley Rd carpark while I headed up hill. So by the time he had biked back to Cropp Pl (into a pretty strong wind), I was nearly at the pre-arranged meeting place, the flat area just below the "Steep, Steep" cache which we had found last week. Luckily there was a picnic table for me to sit at in the sun waiting for him to catch up.
This was the first cache find for me - StreetWalker had already found it on a solo mission up the Reservoir Creek a few months back. So he was sent in to retrieve , but took his time about it as he had trouble finding the right location from above. Good to turn this into a smiley. TFTC.

Returned to Reservoir Creek today to turn the remaining two caches into smileys. Last time I came up the creek my success rate was really low - 1 out of 5 or so, and by the time I got to this one I had run out of caching-juice so I gave up after a cursory glance. Today things were much better - found in the second place I looked. Was accompanied by a pair of of fantails while I was searching, signing and completing the climb to the 4WD track - an uplifting experience. (I could also hear very clearly planes taxiing and taking off down at the airport - a sound that seemed very out of place in this gully 45 minutes from civilisation. The sound must have funnelled up the valley.) Cache in excellent condition. TFTC
Yay - the map of the creek is now all smileys!

#9270. I wondered about leaving this until Troodles and I do the walk along the nearby 4WD, but the cache was a wee way from the track, so I thought I might was well find it. Probably the quickest find of all the caches in this stream. TFTC.
In Richmond for a wee family holiday. Was planning on coming up here yesterday but heavy rain prevented that! Today dawned lovely, and our last day in Richmond before heading home to Christchurch, so we decided to leave Nana and grandand in charge of the wee dudes and head up the hill early. Decided on the steep direct route up! Having gained the LookOut we then looked for a way down....and we choose Reservoir creek. Not sure that that was a wise choice, lots of rain yesterday made it very wet and slippery. Took a couple goes to get the right elevation to gain entrance, once found we headed down the "track" - found this one after a bit of a search. Cheers.
GPS took me to the same tree as my last time, searched but nothing, reread the hint and tried another tree and there it was. Nice to tick off a previous DNF. Enjoyed the walk up the creek track

Found without too much difficulty while out walking on a beautiful May morning. .
My favourite track at present, the cache was a bonus. Not too difficult to find.
Up here on a Saturday morning bike ride, so two bird with one stone.
Recent trapline maintenance made access from the top a lot easier, thanks Gryke.
There was a suitable lengthy hunt for this one, then something out of place was spotted.

GPS was determined it knew what tree but it didn't really fit the hint and i couldn't find anything there anyway. Getting late in the day so a bit dark under the tree cover. Will be back for a better look

After coming up the valley, which is in itself quite an achievement, I was determined not to be beaten by this one, but it did take time. Thanks for setting it up. http://www.geocaching.com/images/icons/icon_smile_cool.gif
Creek was more than a trickle today but compared to Sunday it probably was. I did the bush bash and then gallantly found a better way back up to bring Ms M down to the track by. She had been really enjoying the 4WD track and wasn't that enthused about the route I wanted to take her home by. Got the wrong tree to start with. Quick find once in the right place.

Hadn't read the listing properly and so my approach from above was perhaps a bit less than orthodox. Anyway, it got me onto the track and then close to the cache. Not in the first place I looked but was happy to find it in the second. TFTC, Biggles.
This time Mrs S earned her keep and had a quick find when she decided that that item looked like the right spot. Which finally it was. Left a TB to celebrate. A definite trickle in the stream - not sure she would like to do the track when it wasn't but heaps of fun today. Good weather, good company and the 'track' is certainly not boring!!!
Thanks.
Thanks.
Some discussion about which exactly was the tree under consideration but then, when some serious searching was about to begin - - - there it was. And then the short scramble as mentioned in the cache notes and our adventure up the creek was complete. Thanks for the great afternoon!!!!
Last find up the track today and what an enjoyable and challenging at times walk. Thankks so much for taking me somewhere I wouldn't have otherwise known about - lovely bush, neat waterfalls, great company and a few caches to boot. Thanks for the total experience. #4477
Another big search area with multiple options to choose from. Found the cache at the third one I think and it didn't look like the first or the last. Everyone was pretty relieved that the road wasn't far away. Certainly a good challenge for the kids coming up here but they made it fine. All easy from here. TFTC.

After the DNF at the waterfalls I considered turning back as time was ticking. It was only the mention of the short scramble to the track from this cache that kept me going up, as the track seemed a lot faster way out than going back down. Fortunately this cache was a much easier find, helped by the better coverage at the edge of the bush. TFTC
