Logs
Well, we read the hint, all the logs about searching a bit wider, turned over everything but still no luck. Not often I post a DNF
Sorry to say this was my second DNF on this loop-able road. Nothing at indicates GZ but admired the lake and outbuildings
SJT_NZ had looked for this one previously but with a lot of smuggle activity we headed back today to check it out. Loved all the Californian Quails in the area, one of my favourite birds. A quick find at GZ and hardly anyone about at the earlier hour. Thanks for the cache, all in good order.
I'd been unsuccessful looking for this one previously - which I'll put down to the need to abandon the search because of nearby muggles. Today with Tregearp no such problems and she made the honors of the find. All in good order, thanks SoBad for the cache.
We are staying at a chalet on Hewetsen Road that we booked through Book-a-bach so thought we would grab the cache within walking distance one evening after our meal. The donkey in the paddock across the road from the driveway was very friendly & enjoyed a pat, the 2 lamas watched on. The cache was easy to find & was in good order, so happy days
Took me a while to return, and after a couple of days of rain I came from the moutere highway direction this time. The Tasman View Rd way has all the views but rain well set in I wouldn't be able to see far, and not sure I'd trust my vehicle there when wet. I've thoroughly enjoyed the garden and the setting when searching before so I don't feel bad for parking and grabbing this time.
Thanks very much!
Thanks very much!
Always nice to turn a DNF into a Found it. Had GK with me this time so was able to show him the lovely gardens. Much quieter around GZ today which is always a good thing. Thanks Sidewaze for replacing SoBads cache and thanks SoBad for finding this spot to put a cache and therefore bringing us here.
My second visit here, both times coming from the Harley rd- Tasman view way to enjoy the views. And the garden is looking as good as ever in spring bloom. I thought since my first visit was when I was new to caching, that I might have a better chance now my geosense is slightly better tuned... but no luck for me. Enjoying my drive though, I'll watch for a find and return. Thanks!
Didn't spend too much time here - it was surprisingly busy for a quiet road, amazing gardens - will come back another day when I have more time for looking tftc
Sadly although we are free agents, we could not find this one today. We did look in between several things but had no luck.
Hmm. Some nice gardens around here, but with our one in Nelson being more than enough for us to maintain, I'll happily leave these for the current owners.
A surprisingly busy little road (when I visited, at least) as two cars and a tractor went past as I was making my way to the GZ.
The cache was not where my GPS said I should look, but was close by and has been for quite some time it seems.
Another end of year smiley.
Thanks

Got it after a while, co-ords about 8 mtrs. out, but that makes you look harder. TFTC.
Not quite where my GPSr took me initially, or some others judging by the geotrails. A quick find after checking some logs.

On a geocaching holiday with tmann421 seeking out caches at the top of the South Island. Thanks to all the CO's for making this such a memorable trip.
Another good hide here.

We had driven by this cache (and garden) a couple of months ago but as the parking was better on the other side of the road decided to look for it on the way back. Except we had a change of plan, and we didn't return this way. I think it was karma as the garden is obviously a spring garden and I hadn't really taken much notice of it on the first drive by.
Today it was looking gorgeous, with wisteria on the fence and lots of rhodos flowering. I spent more time looking at the garden than looking for the cache (which was eventually spotted on the other side of the creek from where we initially searched). The bridge has taken a beating - looks like somebody misjudged the corner here. Thanks for bringing me here, and TFTC.

#8421. We had ventured further that we originally planned (due to where the final of multi turned out to be) and I realized we were pretty close to a piece of unfinished business. TFTC.
I found the cache I where I expected to from the hint, signed it but dropped it just as I was putting it back. It didn't fall far but by then there was yet another car coming down this country road directly at us. The old lady then stopped her car in the middle of the road to talk to us, complete strangers. I asked her about the property we were standing by with the beautiful garden and turrets etc and while she was distracted M went behind her and was able to return the cache undetected. A pleasant little interlude to the day.
GPS was a bit off but Red gypsy spotted the cache while White Gypsy scratched around. TFTC.
Staying in the old homeland for the Easter break with mrs tws, had a great time and weather not to bad, real nice on Easter Monday
Nice hide, many thanks

Today We should be doing the cleaning but we became free agents for an hour or so. A nice lunch up the garden path and then this cache. What a beautiful house and garden. We would be happy in the gate house ! TFTC.
We arrived at our friends place for the night which was conveniently allocated 100m away so we went for a wander this morning with them and their two little ones who loved the find! We might have another convert ! On the way back from the other one up the road, the gentleman with the beautiful garden across the road invited us to go for a stroll through - what an amazing spot! He obviously loves gardening. TFTC
A quick find, quite apt after finding Mission Impossible down the road. And yes I was indeed a Free Agent for a few hours this morning as well. I knew that drying all those dishes each night for the last week would have it reward . TFTC
Having been involved in club activities yesterday and this morning I'm now a free agent to do some caching on the way home. Have never been up here before. Didnt expect to see the feature on the way up. Loved the flowers in bloom on the other side of the road TFTC

With some time to fill between jobs we took the opportunity to get a few smilies. Last time here we approached from the other side. The road, or what goes for one, sure gives the car suspension a work-out no matter which way you come. The find was straight forward. TFTC
With a few hours between shifts for Hazedarus it meant we had time to hunt down some caches so this was the first before we tested the suspension again as we headed further eastward. The cache was soon found and log signed. TFTC.
number 13 of 31 We have been down this road many times before quick find in the dark TFTC
Out at night to get this one at about 7:47pm so we could not see much of the view or our surroundings but nice hide.TFTC
Streaking today for a different goal and that is to achieve 30 in a day for my MGSc qualification. Mrs M in a weak moment agreed to navigate me around a pre-planned route and I would have to say without her assistance I would probably still be out there. Left home at 12:30 pm and back again at 5:00 pm with 29 under the belt and with #30 planned to be a night time FDF of The Streak #3 which is just 100m from home. Fingers crossed that doesn’t go belly up. Find #24. Some very interesting structures noted around GZ? TFTC
interisting wee place, had a bit of fun getting the log out of the bottle but got their in the end should be easyer for the next person now
Nice One!!!!!!!!!!!Another fine on our Autumn Colour quest. Always impressed every time we come down this road. See something new each time. Looking forward to that real fruit ice cream in Upper Moutere. Much fun. Thanks
Oh to be a Free Agent - whatever would I do with myself? One day. Nice detour on the way to Kateri. Thanks SoBad for placing this cache.

We were making the most of free agent time whilst we can seemed appropriate to grab this one. By this point we had set a target group to finish before dusk so the chilled start turned into a mad dash, how typical quick find tftc
The end of a days caching in Mot. Called by this new one on the way home. A couple of big lakes/reservoirs up here that I hadn't noticed before.
I like the Free Agent sentiments and its connotations. Suits Geocaching to a tee.

Last night of our holiday and a dot day as well as nabbing a night cache - what could be better then this cache tonight to end our time of being temporary "free agents":-) a quick find this evening along a road we have travelled before - signed log Thanks for the cache
A dot day for us and also the last day of our holidays and still needing lots of night caches so we left this till after dark
Very conscious of the nearby house so luckily a quick grab and sign and got out of the area . Thanks for placing this cache

Last day at work yesterday so this was a must do cache today - Cheers Sobads. I don't think I'm going to feel like a fish out of water or be swimming on my own for long. But I'm going to enjoy it while it lasts. Free though? - I don't come that cheap! TFTC #4522
Semi-free while working from home this week, so decided to head out and find a few caches before getting down to it. No problems here and the cache was located in the first spot I checked. TFTC, Biggles.
.....free.....??
found on the way back from a stunning weekend at the Cobb. Thanks.

Thinking of all you "not quite" free agents out there today. Hang in there, and above all, enjoy what you're doing. Interestingly enough, and I'm sure the CO had no idea, my first real job was within 1 kilometre of GZ. Earned enough during the 6 weeks of summer to keep me going for the rest of the year, for several seasons. STF @ 6:05am. Think I met Kehu on his way out. Cheers.
FTF @ 0600hrs, phew! Looks like I was only just FTF...
Woke early with work at 0700 in Nelson, decided to take the scenic route to work (you can do that as a free agent), passed a car heading away from the GZ and figured I was not the first, bit of cursing as I approached the GZ and was confronted with a cachers curse. Was pleased after a quick hunt to make a find, complete with an empty log. Passed another vehicle as I left GZ, probably Sidewaze?
I used to bike up this road a bit and remember the alpacas as well as a donkey, it really is a magic little side road, I'll have to ride up it again sometime soon and check to see if the donk is still there.
Nice hide in a beautiful spot, TFTC. Now back to work for this not so free agent.

Congratulations to the two early birds.
Just confirming... we don't like flax or gorse so don't expect others to either.
