Was on way home frm centre visit then remembered havent found it. Used GPS to find area then noticed a loose brick and there it was. Tftc Sam.
Nice day of caching in Howick today. My goal was to collect several mystery caches I had previously solved and also to grab some of the traditionals nearby.
Greenkiwikid No 2 accompanied me today, which was very nice and especially useful when it came to climbing situations...
Cool little hiding place still unaffected by the works going on nearby. Lid is missing of mint tin. Tftc

Tyfc. This cache might be endangered with the property being developed for housing. I imagine the wall is likely to be renovated at some point
Ahhh! Brought a taller person today after packing the Christmas Boxes and we found it pretty quickly! The lid is rusted out and the container is too. We recommend replacing it soon. Well done Uncle Sam!

Family came to Auckland for shopping and catching up with relatives. I've come for a caching walk. Thanks for the cache. Very sneaky.
Another dot day to fill and we had already had a DNF today so we are pleased the days are getting longer as we had to wait until after purply' s indoor cricket game nearby to attempt another cache. We parked up around the corner and made the short walk to GZ. Mr HeMaLuDy made a quick find while one if the minis pretended to be on the phone and the rest of us made a human wall so the cars stopped at the lights couldn't see what we were up to.
Unfortunately the cache container has lost its lid and the log was sodden. We didn't have any other containers with us sorry but did add a new log sheet (I think it is waterproof paper). Found with darthcacher1 and purply.

Team BOP hit the Waikato area until we got bored with Hamilton. We decided to head to Auckland at 10:30pm for a bit of night caching. We kept going until 3:30am and decided we better return home to Tauranga before we got too tired.
A quick find here while we parked in the driveway. No one about, so no one cared!
The cache was found and signed quickly.

With a break in the weather this was the perfect weekend for geocaching. I had no plans so with the help of TNXPro and Squirrelnutcase we sought out a worthy adventure heading West to help Squirrel clear his map. What no one knew at the time was this adventure would morph to span 21 hours, cover 3 regions and we'd have Davidson clan join us at the half way point just in time for the Auckland leg of our journey. A crazy day with Team BOP but there's no denying - it's a lot more fun with friends!
With the sun well and truly gone we had the place to ourselves which was good as I assume this area is pretty busy during the day. The cache was found quickly and in good condition thanks the accurate coords and a straight forward placement. Cheers UncleSamNZ, TFTC

With (Mr) Davidson clan, Philip.Perry, and TNXPro...
Our caching adventure quickly morphed into an all night mission in East Auckland. We were looking for an area with a good spread of caches that didn't require a lot of driving from point to point. Botany Town seemed perfect... As with most nighttime missions, cache finds quickly become a blur as there is not much to focus on other than making the find. My lasting memory of tonight will be enjoying the company of our group, mixed with very cold, wet feet from walking across boggy ground.
An interesting hide in a standard. concrete cinder wall. A few cars whizzed by, but it was late and dark enough to blend in. A pity that this one is out of condition and needs freshening up. TFTC.

Just time to grab a couple after lunch near by on a dot day. No problems with this one although log is slightly damp. TFTC.
A fantastic day out cacher hunting with the family, cache and log in good condition, thank you for placing the cache
Drive past almost every day and thought id pick this one off tftgc - antznz n princessknz
I've been past this location numerous times knowing there's a cache there somewhere, so I decided to actually stop today and go look for it. It's quite tricky with all the traffic so it took a while in between streams of cars I had a bit of a walk up and down and spied a potential location... yep it was there The tin is now very rusty and the zip lock bag no longer seals so the new log is also getting wet so it could do with a bit of maintenance TFTC!
Twas the night before Christmas, all town was a rush,
TD found this one, the log paper's all mush.
It's the season to be joyful and share, so TD added a slip of dry paper.

Pass this one nearly every day but never managed to stop until to-day. Quick find though the cache had no lid and the log was totally mushy. Pleased to get this one at last.
The log is a soggy wet mess and unsignable. Also the cache container is missing it's lid
Out in the Eastern Suburbs again this weekend with Merlot58 and Aiden29. We were hoping for a park and grab, however the parking was zip and the traffic was heavy. A constant stream of people going goodness knows where to do goodness knows what. Parked around the corner and soon sussed the brick in the wall.
Once again I was out in East Auckland with Jag50 and Aiden29 collecting more caches. The traffic was very heavy so a couple of us jumped out while we were stopped in the queue and soon found the brick in the wall. The log was a soggy unsignable mess and as we had jumped out of the car without our cache bags we couldn't replace it.
Returned out this way with Jag50 and Merlot58 today. Traffic was a nightmare today, so the team leapt out while waiting for the traffic lights to change, and Mr Jag turned around to pick everyone up.
Quick find after parking in the nearby Elim carpark. Bonus find of a golf ball that has made its way across the road from the country club. Couldn't sign log as container has fallen to bits and wet inside. Nice hide.
Just a few caches in the area as an excuse to get out of the house and to get some fresh air. This one was an easy find as we pretty much knew what the spot was likely to be. Thanks UncleSamNZ
Every time we drive past here, mum says we must stop to get the cache, and today we did! We parked at the church carpark nearby, and walked to look along the wall. We checked out where we thought the cache could be hidden, and there it was! Quick find. Dad wanted to go caching for Father's Day and so we did. We made it back to the car in time before the rain started, thankfully! TFTC Sam.
Now... this is one of those caches that every time you drive past it, and that is rather a lot, you say to yourself... one day. Well, the day had finally arrived.
After parking in the empty church car park around the corner it was a short walk to GZ. Somehow, it was not where Mr. Kiwi thought it would be, it was at the other end of the wall. Oh, well. We get to GZ and spot a likely place. Nope, not there. Okay, reset geo-senses and look again. Looking at the right elevation there was a spot that could be a place to hide a cache, but did it move? Yes it did! Was there something there? Yes there was!
A nice hide for a cache hidden in a very conspicuous place. Not sure what the motorists passing by thought we were up to. Just hoping that they were too busy concentrating on what they were doing and not on some strange people doing strange things with a stranger's wall.
Managed to get the log signed and the cache replaced just before the warning spits of rain started to fall.

I came by here yonks ago and passed this cache by thinking it was going to be a mission to find. But today, a year later or more, missions are all me, I'm all about the mission, missions I dream about now!! So, that being what it is, I parked up and wandered along in late hour rush hour about 5:30pm I suppose to see what mission this might be. From a small distance I almost straight-away spotted where to look, so a quick look up and down the road to make sure the coast was clear, and I dived in so to speak to make a speedy retrieval of Sam's cache! That was OK, signed myself in, but I had to wait an exceedingly long time before the coast was clear again to deposit the cache from whence it came! Mission completed, whew, that wasn't bad after all! Cheers Sam for the cache.
After dropping some flowers at Mt Wellington we drove to Pakuranga to collect a few caches this evening. Our first stop was at this wall. Had a quick look, and almost immediately spotted the likely hide. Checked it out and had the cache in hand. Glad we did not have to do an extensive search in this rather muggle-exposed location. WELL !!!!!!!!!!!!
Where do I start ! Had a 3 hour walk out here with some oldies this afternoon ; then I decided to stay and do a few hours caching , on the way home , as you do !
After all , I am not often out this way !
Chose this for my last one before hitting the motorway as it was getting really late, even for me , and this one sounded interesting !
Must have been there over half an hour , then got a bit despondent ....
Finally messaged CO for a hint as I thought I had reached and felt everywhere ! He kindly gave me a hint and I found it ! Excellent hide by the way !
Was in car signing log when I noticed Flashing Lights in rear mirror , and pulling up behind was a Police Car !!!!!
They asked me to get out of my car and stand on footpath ,,,,
I quickly said I'm allowed to park here aren't I? No yellow lines ?( Already had one parking ticket this week - but not for caching , so that's ok )
One of the Officers said " We have had a report of someone fitting your description acting suspiciously and shining a torch into people's properties ..."
Well and truly muggled! So I had to explain what I was doing , one of them had heard of geocaching before ...And then they wrote down all my details !
I asked them how to get back on the motorway , as I was a bit lost , and they let me go ! Phew !!!!
Man that Cascade Road is so busy , even at 11 on a Sunday night !
So this is a memorable favourite !
Thanks for this genius hide Sam !
Only had security people looking at me strangely so far ....

Was in the area - having a day off work to be parent help at little Miss school trip - while eating lunch I decided to load up c:geo and see what was around - Knowing this CO I thought it would be rude not to give it a go ...saw some ominous car track marks on the grass ??Left from the NewLyn Fam attempt?? - Pulled up right on GZ and spotted the likely spot instantly - just took a while to let some cars and muggles go by before I made my retrieval - No Vertical challenge here for me .... what would you know 3x pens before I found one in the car and hand bag that actually worked (almost reverted to the photo proof for logging) ....
An early morning visit when there was minimal traffic made this a quick find. Container is missing its lid but the log is dry.TFTC
Tftc. Found empty eclipse tin with the lid off. No log to sign. So I put one in there & signed that.
Found with my Mum, NewlynFam. Have now created my own account so am logging all finds I was present at and helped with.
A Christmas Day cache for Mums streak challenge, along with Russell and Uncle Nick..... fun, fun!
A Christmas Day cache for Mums streak challenge, along with Russell and Uncle Nick..... fun, fun!
Currently attempting a 50-day caching streak with some geo-buddies, which meant, Christmas Day regardless, I needed a cache for today.
I had been saving this cache for a day when I needed one close to home (and when I had someone a little taller with me, as the CO had hinted that I might not be tall enough to reach it- how rude!!! ). Today seemed like it fit these requirements, and I warned the muggle husband that we would have to stop for this cache on our way home after Christmas lunch with the family. Luckily, he is pretty much resigned to my geocaching eccentricities now, and didn't object..... just nodded and rolled his eyes!!!
So after Christmas lunch, we had hauled ourselves and our stuffed stomachs downstairs, hopped in the car (luckily managing not to pop the tyres ), and actually happened to be going right past this cache anyway, as my youngest brother had begged a ride home. I directed Mr NewlynFam to the cache.... and he decided to deliver us right to the door of it, pulling the car up on the footpath!!! Clearly a lesson in stealth is needed....
Luckily, he listened to my protests and found a better place to park, that didn't make it look as if too much Christmas wine had made us run the car off the road (no, he hadn't been drinking, but that's not what it would have looked like, had the boys in blue appeared!). All four of us got out and headed to the cache.... Mr NewlynFam, the muggle brother (who was probably wishing by now that he had just walked home ), Junior NewlynFam and myself. I had explained to the muggle brother what we were doing, and after a couple more sentences of explanation as we approached GZ, he walked right up to it and found it in the first place he looked..... hmmmmph, beginners luck!!!!
Log was signed and the obligatory selfie posed for.... nice to have a nice, clean replacement log!
Thanks UncleSam for the Chrsitmas Day fun!!!

Found in a couple of minutes. The lid is missing and the ink on the log has all but washed away. TFTC
While out caching with social biz guy we were nicely suprised by this find
What a busy road! Amazingly gerald went straight to it so it was a nice quick park and grab and we didn't have to look suspicious for long! TFTC

Not to hard (if your tall) to find but next to a busy road so lots of muggles about. Cool hiding spot. T FTC
A quick find on this cool evening to mark another dot day off of our calendar matrix. A clever little hiding spot.
Decided to tackle this one during the night, to avoid curious muggles watching us. That being said, we parked on the other side of the road, so it was still playing dodge the traffic, trying to cross the busy street!
Thanks for the cache.

Thought we'd found the ideal spot - a long plastic tube in the only visible hole in the wall. Nope - we'll need to try again.
I was getting worried about this one then I thought that has to be where it is...and it was. Clever hide TFTC
After my work meetings were done for the day I had time to go and find a few caches. Ha ha - a good hide here but the contents are wet as noted. Tried to make my mark on the log but not sure how visible it will be. TFTC, Biggles.
Clever. Very wet inside. Paper holding up but hard to write on. Names are wiping off.

Losts of bricks in the wall. All looked the same to me. Maybe I need new glasses. Np luck today. I will be back!!
While I had an idea what I was looking for/how it was hidden it still took a nudge from a previous finder to complete the transaction. Would have taken me a lot longer to figure this one out otherwise. I wasn't keen to hunt for ages on such a busy road with baby stardust in the car.
Finally we find it! Having been on site within minutes of publishing and spending ages with no luck we can cross it off the list of ones to go back to!
After the first attempt it was one of those that frustrated us so much we put off going back despite driving past numerous times. A quick scan of recent logs and stepping back looking with fresh insight and it was soon in hand! TFTC.

Hi Guys. I am just waiting on some waterproof log sheets to come, as this cache can get wet.
On aproach i spotted somthing and went straight for it yep got it, good to have a fast find on such a busy road, Cache is soaked Log unsighnable, TFTC.
Hi magpiehall. I wanted to send you a message to give you another hint, but your account hasn't been set up to receive emails.
Keep looking, it is there, I'm sure you can reach to the occasion.
If you still have trouble, activate your email setup, and I will drop you another hint

I have been to the site three or four times with people who are taller than me and we have been on the ground and on top of the wall with no sign of the geocache. Some help would be nice?
Had beenyear to this site last year and hadnt found it, well being back in the area thought I would give it another go. Spotted the site and was thankful I was correct. Log is very wet, took picture if CO needs it as I am not sure my markings will stay.
Had this one in the GPS for some time but road was always so busy. Today very little traffic and few pedestrian Muggles so a quick find. Log was extremely wet and falling to pieces, my entry may not be visible. Good cache however, TFTC
I was confused at first since everything looked solid. Then I became unconfused and found the cache. TFTC.
The container had a lot of water in it as well as the plastic bag. The log was partially wet as well.
Cheers for the cache.

Walked here after a close by park. Drizzilling rain and found this easily due to Mr NZTravellers height. We loved this hiding spot. 142. TFTC

I had driven past here previously and knew the general area and what it might entail and I would be vertically challenged here. So along with husband (6'1) and son on his shoulders cache was soon in hand. Thanks.
Driven past this one many a time so by the time we finally made time at an appropriate time of the day to look for it we hd a pretty good idea where it would be. TFTC!!!
difficulty of this cache should be increased due to the amount of cars that drive by this cache, we looked so dodgy trying to find this cache even when we try to act cool and normal... height is required
The orange barricade at GZ where no match for me , the cache was luckily just out side the work zone. I gave up waiting for a lull in traffic; Fortune favours the bold!
12426... As the title said... it's just another brick in the wall, cool hide.
We witnessed a road range incident nearby when two cars stopped side by side, with the second driver ranting at the first for driving 50km's in a 60km zone, to make matters worst, the first driver ignored him, so the second driver then proceeded to kick the door of the first car... chill out man, relax and go geocaching BTW TFTC.

I noticed some anomalies with the wall so I have a fair idea where I think this may be hidden; if I am correct, but lacking the stature that may be required, I have to give this one a miss.

Very cool hide but a little (well actually a lot) out of my reach, thankfully Lycurgon didn't have this problem, TFTC
Traffic never stops does it! 3 places I thought it could be and the 3rd option was right, though a bit tricky with traffic.
In the general area this morning so made a smallish detour to find this cache. Parked up near by and made my way to GZ. GPSr wanted to send me into the road so I put it aside and opened my eyes. Quickly spotted a slight abnormality and hand the cave in hand. Things are a little damp but okay for now. Cheers for the cache placement!
Traffic not to bad and enough time between vehicles to make a quick grab, followed by the obligatory wander down the road to sign and then turn around and make the timing for the replacement
