Day 7 (and the final day) of the KiwiFruitsNZ/Vamber Xmas Road Trip saw us drive from Whakatane to Auckland, with the aims of securing more caches towards our GIO Licence and making SandGropers event at Albert Park by 5pm.
Another quick find.
Note: Geckoh archived several caches yesterday, something we were unaware of until we logged on to the website this afternoon. We have requested his permission (which was granted) to record this as a find.

This cache formed part of our return trip home with KiwifruitsNZ back to Auckland, from the beautiful Bay of Plenty.
Didn't know that the CO had just archived this cache the day before, as the pocket query on our GPS devices was not updated, and the container was still at GZ, but we are logging with permission.
A quick find through the long grass and thorns! Many thanks for the hide.

A trip from Rotorua to Whakatane (for a Greek Lesson) and then on to Tauranga. Another lovely day on the road and a few caches to boot. Thanks for placing them.
What a great day with many of very nice geocaches on our way. ....also this one.... TFTC
Whakatane trip, the mission was 48 geocaches in 24 hours. It was epic, we got 49. This was Number 45 find. Dragon chose the right side to go round, was very soggy and lots of water in it. We drained it, replaced bags.
Went back for a fresh look at this one!!! The stump was pretty obvious actually although my GPS put GZ about 300 m North of it... Once we had decided to look around this stump it was a quick find. TNLNSL. TFTC. And thanks to Frewilys for checking and telling us the cache was still in place. Cheers
A good driveby cache to test the new cachemobile on. It passed the wet grass test so now onto some real 4WD ing
Many thanks
Many thanks
Had quick look for this but the GPS had GZ as being about 3 metros into a paddock of short grass at the entrance to a driveway. Had a quick look at a couple of stumps that were about 15 m away from the indicated GZ but couldn't see anything. Will look again next time we go past.
Tftc. Always worry about caches like this one in case there are wasp nests hidden. The long grass gives away the location if someone has been there recently which made it very quick to find.
The tip isn't 100% correct, but we found it very fast. Thanks for this nice cache!
Found with The Brown Treasures while camping in Whakatane for a couple of days. Our aim today was to pick up a few more caches towards the 176 degree challenge. This landmark is a great place for a cache, thanks! Quick find by the youngest member of the party.
How can it be so difficult to find an obvious cache. Any way, found it after a second pair of eyes joined in. TFTC
Great day for caching and very pleased to finally get a few days away, in the bay. Good fun caches, many thanks for another enjoyable find.

Finally stopped to retrieve this cache in the interesting stump...must have been a big ole tree one day. Thanks for the cache.

Got this one after Bridge to cache - lots of parking space off the road that I was hoping wasn't going to get me stuck - but fine weather made it nice and safe.

called in right on dark, got a beep beep too from a white van. must be another cacher or the owner? i parked right next to the stump, too lazy.
Yup, busted you like a deer in the headlights............
Hope you found it OK, we were on our way to Lake Rotoiti for our cache for the day.....

The north side hint narrowed down the amount of still dewey grass to explore & the cache popped up quickly. All good, thanks Geckoh.
A good landmark to aim for it was. No problems with the discovery, but lots of problems waiting for the break in the traffic to retrieve. Did so with lightning speed when the opportunity arose. TFTC

Teamed up today with The Squirrel Nutcase, for an assault on Geckoh country.
A mower has "modified" the Cache area and the cache was some distance away from GZ. Found it and took TB .
Thanks Geckoh.

I decided to let Teeny Tina have the find honors on this one....10.40am on our way to two weddings today.
Came in on the back road after having a drive through the new are my daughter is moving to in June. Excellent use of a natural feature TFTC
Cache hunting in the Eastern Bay today. Its been a while since I ventured out this way. In my absence, there seems to have been a mini run of new caches...
Pulled off the road and followed the tire tracks to park alongside. This is a very open location... kiss stealth and discretion goodbye. No time to be precious or shy here.
Took some time to search through the detritus at ground zone. Managed to entertain the cows and passing motorists alike. TFTC.

Not too many cars whizzing past early on a Sunday morning.
Will move the racing car TB on.
Left a pet rock - a zebra. TFTC

Noticed this has turned into a highway for geocachers, making it a park and grab, nicely hidden, TFTC.

Past this place only yesterday, if I had known it was published, would of had a shot at the FTF. Quick find on the way home.
We weren't far up the road when one of us had the bright idea of checking if there are any new caches for us to find along our route towards home. We noticed that these two new caches had just been published so a quick decision was made to turn around and head back around this loop - it would be rude not to! We made a quick find here and then it was onto the next one. Joint FTF with Greenblat, KiwiLeon and mike-miss. FTF #1328 TFTC!!!
Cheeky FTF by a convoy of out of towners in our remuera tractors (which we did get muddy). T4TC
In Edgecumbe when the notification came through of new caches published. Made a quick U-Turn and headed for GZ with Greenblat, FMZ and KiwiLeon. Quick find on arrival to GZ and a blank log for a shared FTF! TFTC!
Out with FMZ, GreenblAt and mike-miss after our epic 4WD adventure up the Kereu River and Waiti River.
We were in Edgecumbe when we noticed some unfound caches nearby. Turned around for a quick FTF.

Little glass painted with geckoh given to G'g'g to take back to Oz for a cache over there.
