Well played...turned up to do some geocaching and found the town Christmas parade was on, people EVERYWHERE!
A lot of muggles around, but we managed to time it just right so that we ducked into the right space just as everyone looked away. Nice hide, and wasn't as dirty as others experienced. TFTC
Well I sauntered round to where I’m certain this is, did the casual phone drop cover act but still no way I’m getting the actual cache in hand. Well done hiding in such a busy spot!
Found on an early morning stroll to discover that the 4 square was still closed. Cheers

Our first night in town, we came in for dinner, and noted this pretty close by, so diverted over before it got too dark. Yep, pretty manky - especially before dinner, you'll definitely need to wash before dinner after this one! TFTC

Tftc. Found early in morning just had to wait for street sweeper to drive past
Spent much longer than I’d like to admit! Didn’t think it’d be there because of the yuck factor
Couldn’t find it last trip, but was in luck this time thanks to the clue. Lovely day as always in Hanmer, always enjoy visiting. Stopped by the cache with a couple of trackables. Log book is getting close to full. TFTC.
Second attempt a year later and we finally found it!! It was very water logged so couldn’t write in the book
My committee ten year old found it every though it's was pissing down with rain. Great cache thanks!!

3rd time trying to get this one...but really to many muggles. Daughter tried the drop the phone distracting thing but can only do that once...try again another time
This was my third attempt at this cache this year, finally found it! Unfortunately the log was dog eared and I couldn't find a blank space to write in it in the dark. Was spun out as there was a copper NZ 10c piece stuck to the magnet.... Copper isn't magnetic! Anyway tftc
Third time lucky! Came searching in the evening when less muggles about and found it straight away.
Hubby didn't believe me when I told him where to look so I did it. Yay for a Hanmer hide. TFTC 
Finally back after coming up blank a few months ago. What a beautiful autumn day today! After a decadent spa treatment and with friends in the pools, I decided to take on this previous nemesis with half an hour to spare. Super quiet moment to suss out the most likely spot after a fairly thorough look on my last visit. Realised straight away the part I'd missed and we had the cache in hand quick smart. 3 TBs who've never been to the South Island of NZ in tow. Visiting with ahg18 and Viv_L TFTC

We have attempted this cache on a previous visit here and late yesterday. After a bit more thought we returned this morning and found it straight away.
Today is our 2nd day travelling the South Island in a motorhome. The scenery is beautiful as always in NZ.

Visiting from Arizona, USA. on our coach tour of NZ.. We weren't even supposed to be here. We spent last night in Punakaiki and were supposed to visit Franz Josef Glacier today. With the storms and the closures on SH 6, that wasn't going to happen, and we're going to have to miss it. But our tour guide and company were able to secure us lodging here for tonight instead.
As soon as we'd unacked our bags we wandered over here. It took us a couple of minutes but the log is signed "TTB". Thanks for the cache.

During a short stay in Hanmer Springs (very nice place) we have enjoyed very tasty breakfast with very good spinach, avocado and cream cake. But the place was overcrowded, so we stopped looking around..
Yayyy!!! It's not THAT dirty!!! GREAT location! Here with new cacher Sezzles on our 2nd anniversary together! TFTC!
One of a small number located in Hanmer and on our way back to Christchurch today. Took a few minutes to locate this one. Only one place it could be really. Didn’t find it on first search (or feel) in the expected area. Decided we hadn’t checked things adequately. That proved to be the case because a further ‘check’ produced the goods. The “yuk factor” is really a matter of perception, but I would agree this probably isn’t the ideal hiding spot for a cache! #2344. TFTC.

Found during my holiday. I got some short trips around this area and found this beautiful cache. Hamner springs is amazing place!! Thank you
In first place we looked but didn't get down and dirty. After dismissing other spots we returned for the find. Not too many muggles and those that are here are too busy watching the Hash House Harruers charity Red Dress run participants.
Eventually worked up enough courage to delve where no man wants to go ...signed and replaced as found...lots people in red dress provided a good distraction tftx 1eyedbnf

Haven't found it. We were wondering if it was in a place that was gross to put your hand in.
Second time lucky! After a fruitless search yesterday, we returned this evening determined to locate this elusive cache. Soon located it with out any need for a post-find decontamination. All good. Tftc MattyH from Tassie

Too many muggles about on a bright, hot sunny day.I sat just 4 feet away reading previous logs and decided I didn't want to grope around the hint area after reading the adverse comments, so left.

Found it. Understand the notes about the weird place and needing hand sanitizer. Took a photo but didn't want to post as that would make it to obvious.
Always wanted an arm rinse with second hand coffee. Interesting location. Wife is now off to find a wash basin.
Ughhhhh second time. Lifted the whole bag out and still couldn’t find it! Maybe this needs a reset lol
Another visit to Hanmer, and this time we took a stroll at dusk to GZ. Sat on bench, used the free Wi-Fi from the library and waited until the coast was clear. Then Mrs D in dark green braved the fish and chip wrappings, crouched and felt under. All round. Retrieved and returned to bench to sign. Waited again, returned. The information about Hanmer in the writeup is great, but it is such a shame the cache is in an unsuitable and unpleasant place.
Once we knew where it was, we abandoned our search. May attempt again with gloves and hand sanitiser. Not a nice place for a cache.

Found. Had to explain to a couple of touristz why the kids were fossicking near their van . Lucky they knew about geocaching!
