One more find to keep my streak going. Alas the CO hasnt responded via GC for some time - as I did see many previous log entries about the unusable cache. Today I came for a look, hmmm. Cant even sign my name on the recent replacement log paper.Unfortunately one does need to flag a RAR as willtt3 hasnt done any check for ten years plus.
Cache is unusable. No maintenance for ten years plus, based on activity log. CO willtt3 hasnt responded via GC message centre. I plan to remove this cache as geotrash.
Found It!After getting the FTF nearby, I decided to find this one to while I was here. It was well dark by the time I got to GZ so the view was just of a lot of lights. Found the cache after a bit of a search but the logbook is ruined and completely unusable. Didn't have any spares with me so I left a scrap of paper with my name on it.TFTC
Found it after a second attempt today. Log has now become the home of an ant nest. Still worth a second try if just for the views.Tftc
Enjoyed the views of Penrith, wandered around for ages and then succumbed to sneaking a peek at past logs before reading the east approach is the best, CIH soon afterwards
We are on another short (four day) caching holiday in Western Sydney and the Blue Mountains, staying for three nights in a park cabin at the Ingenia Nepean River BIG4 Holiday Park at Emu Plains. Hoping to collect the latest GFA Puzzle, Wherigo, and Letterbox caches that have appeared around Luddenham & Wallacia since our last visit to the area, and will have a go at the new GFA Adventure Lab. Will also be returning to the lower Blue Mountains to visit some previously unexplored caching locations, revisiting areas around Penrith & suburbs that have new or replaced caches, and maybe finish with a visit to the Londonderry area. Photos will be uploaded to some logs on our return to home base. This was the 11th of 15 finds for the day (day 2), and 24th find of the holiday.
Today we headed up to Lapstone to make some finds for International Geocaching Day and the world wide caching record attempt for the most cachers caching on the same day (August 20). After trekking around the Lapstone gorge for a few hours we headed up to Glenbrook for some lunch, then grabbed some more caches in the lower Blue Mountains before heading back down to Emu Plains.
Arrived at this one next and, after walking down the bush track, made a nice quick find on arrival at GZ. Unfortunately the hide has become a massive ant's nest, and the cache container's lid is cracked, and so it was full of water. The log was totally saturated and unsignable, so we took a photo instead. Replaced the container upside down, to hopefully stop the water filling the container. TFTC willtt3, and Happy International Geocaching Day to everyone

Found easy. Beautiful view. Cache has some water in it and the lid is broken. Does need fixing. But thanks for the cache
Nice easy find although cache was very wet as there is a hole in the lid. Dried it out for a bit.
Needs a new container.
Will put it back upside down so the water won’t get in so easy.
Thanks for the cache.

This one stumped me for a bit but with some help I was able to find it, And I loved the cash Guardian!! Tftc
What a beautiful spot looking down on the river. Like others, I thought I was looking in an obvious spot but ended up being too low down. It was under a bit of dirt and rubble, but it was the dinosaur that gave it away after about 10 to 15 minutes. Great spot. TFTC
My 4 year old ended up finding it after I search for about 20 minutes! The green and yellow dinosaur would not fit back in box so he is now guarding from the outside
This cache was a bonus as the one below was the primary target. Thankfully it was quite uncovered as otherwise I would not have found it! Thanks for placing this cache and bringing us on this great steep walk!
Was a hot walk down and back to GZ today, after a few miss hits i eventually found it,not bad for a first hide!
Thanks for the cache
Thanks for the cache
was in the area to complete a couple GCA caches & couldn’t leave without finding this 1 – thanks

Again the Geowife is abandoning me to head up north for lunch with friends. So I have all day (ie until I have to pick them up from the station) to cache.
And again it's milestone time, and again like the last few, I'll be picking a milestone cache that's been placed by one of the nice people of the geocaching community.
Managed that and seven more, including a previous DNF.
###END OF CUT AND PASTE SECTION###
It's almost two years since I went for this one. I was left cacheless, going around in circles last time in incredible heat, that was only exacerbated by the exposed rock... it's hot again now. Am I mad?
Walked down the track and was soon at GZ, which I ended up approaching from the east this time.
And I had CIH in under 2 minutes! Unbelievable. Really effective hide, though, no wonder my overcooked brain missed it last time.
Signed and replaced. Took in the views, and then the climb back out - which was so much easier than last time.
Gets a favourite.

Nice hide,
Found a large green and yellow Dinosaur nearby, so he is now in the cache.

Looking for a couple of GA caches along this trail and stopped for this one. No luck with the search today
I had part of a trackable, **baby&Mrs gopher** had the (more important) other bit, and we were able to meet up at **thomo31's** place to reunite them.
That done and some pleasant cache-talk later, it was time for me to head out in 45+ degree heat to grab a few caches.
Off to a bad start with two DNFs in my first three attempts, but then things picked up and ended up with ten finds for the day, including a First2Find on a cache by **thomo31**. How's that for synchronicity?
Thanks to her and the gophers. Enjoyable day, great company to start the day. Pity it was sooooooooo hot!
###END OF CUT AND PASTE SECTION###
So hot.
Walked down the trail to GZ and... my the radiated heat off the rocks is killing.
Checked a lot of spots but came up short.
Eventually called it as the heat was so oppressive here and I still wanted to be able to walk up the hill to the car without collapsing.
Hopefully I can try this one again on a cooler day.

We made hard work of this by looking everywhere except where the cache was. As we decided to give up, geoDan moved something (almost a kick) and uncovered the cache. The cache just sat there and laughed at us for taking so long. TFTC
The father-in-law (kooleen) had tried to find this one the other day but had no luck, so we decided we would give it a go as a group. Off for a nice afternoon stroll and soon we were near GZ. We spent a while looking in some obvious spots and widening the search we were still coming blank. Meal (who had baby Emily strapped to her) decided to help with the search but upon high. She gave some directions based off previous logs and photos, and soon said found it.....a few metres away from where the GPS said we should be looking. Enjoyed a nice view and taking some pictures of everyone with Emily in the bush and then headed home. A nice cache and great to pick up almost 12 months of unloved. TFTC
Got it this time...... Out with wife son in law daughter and grand daughter. GPS was sending us to the wrong place. Daughter nutted it out and found it. Left Pirate coin.
Hmmm have to work on this one. The GPS was all over the place. Does the high voltage affect a GPS like it does a compass? Nice spot though.
Garmin was all over the place and took one on a futile rock scrabble ... eventually settled and all became easy.
Simply good to sit upon the rock in a winter's sunshine and enjoy the serenity. TFTC ☺

Coords off 9m for us, hint made us search wrong place. J27 found in the end while i searched down bellow. Enjoyed the views so thankoo 4 bringing us here. Tftc
Favourite. Great hidden gem. Really good views in a peaceful area. Cache took time to find, so was satisfying to find. Worth the short walk from the end of Nichols St.Tftc
Virtually inserted.
Why just there? This is the nearest cache of our family friends house.
Greetigs from Brno, Czech Republic!

Took 40 minutes to find as my phone died when I neared the area, I climbed up from emu plains which was a Trek but well worth it! This is my second find I moved a little spider that had set up home covering the cache
It was a very hot day so I chose caches that did not have a hard walk to get to them. This one seemed ideal. I haven't been down this ridge before and was pleasantly surprised how gentle it was down to the cache at least. Found the cache in an obviously suspicious spot. (Didn't quite get how the clue would help with finding the cache.) Great view of the lakes. You could see the bend in the river too.

I returned this afternoon after the storm passed by. It was a quick find after widening the search in the other direction to last time. I also grabbed Rainbow Spirit's beloved torch to return. Both the torch and the cache are in good condition even after all the recent rain. Thanks for the cache.
I made this harder than it needed to be by going over the edge...and to cap it off I found it in an easy spot...
Also I think I left behind my beloved caching torch! It may be small but it packs a Cree bulb that is so powerful it can be used in daylight! Please contact me if you find it, thanks, Rainbow Spirit.

Loved the hide and view, definitely a favourite cache of mine.
I'm amazed for the hider to have found such a gorgeous spot !!

Makes sense why it it called River View. Picked up a trackable. Inventory said there were two, but I only saw one. There was a note on the front of the log book which read "thanks for the stuff." Makes me think that this could be an often-muggled cache.
I searched and searched with no luck on this one. I also came across two lovely slithering friends nearby basking in the sun. Hopefully, it was just my oversight today.
This cache was out in the open as some children had found it accidentally. We hope we put it back in the right place. The CO may want to check this. Lovely view. TFTC
How did the lovely cool stroll down turn into such a long hot slog back LOL? GPS on the ipad app was saying it was in the obvious spot... Wow there was some heat bouncing off those rocks! I took another look at the logs, decided to try somewhere I could actually see the river... And there it was nothing there the boys wanted to take, so we stocked it up with a few more toys! Yay for Daddy Yeti joining us for his first geocache hunt!
A quick cache before the heat of the day makes it yucky for T-Rexs (yes we are soft and hate the heat - maybe that's why we became extinct the first time round lol)
Around the gate, down the hill, across the rocks BAM! Second cache for the day now back up the hill (Lady T-Rex isn't good with the "ups") But the pretty view was worth it.
Swapped a dino and an army man for a pokemon card and a coin, dropped a TB

Very tough for us as we tried to find this one after the Girl Scouts cache. Scaled down a massive hill opposite to the one this cache was found on. Not the best route for beginners.

Very good hide!!! Found it with my cousin and it took us a while!!! The clue wasnt great and didnt help!!! TFTC
Since I was close by, picking up a GCA moveable I thought I should have a go at this one.
An easy stroll through the bush and a quick find a an area that I had not visited before.
It is always a delight to find a non micro cache, thank you very much for this one.

Trekked with Moppit from girl guides Hall. Great spot and challange. Took wallet and left some cash. TfTC
After a meeting for afternoon tea with an old friend down in Glenbrook, I was looking for a relatively easy find on the way back home in the upper mountains. I didn't want to be trying to navigate in the bush in the dark.
So this relatively new cache really served the purpose, involving a stop at the end of Nichols Parade and a short jaunt, less than 300 metres, down an old but easy to follow fire trail.
I'd checked in advance that I'd chosen the right road for the trailhead, but was surprised when I arrived there to find not one but two possible fire trails to choose from . . . But I managed to pick the right one . . .
11 metres from GZ my GPSr seemed to baulk and wouldn't give me any closer readings. I used the old rogerw3 trick of stopping dead in my tracks for a couple of minutes (while pulling out my iPhone with its GPSr app) and, sure enough, was eventually guided on to a likely place quite near the trail where (eventually) I understood the clue.
Nice choice of a good quality cache container. Will be waterproof for sure. And it contained an interesting selection of swaps. Took a TB for transport back to Leura. LNSL.
Many thanks to willtt3 for another Blue Mountains hide!

A nice stroll down to the cache... Up hill might be a bit more challenging for the small geokids... Great views from here as well.. TFTC
The WaywardWoman, who had already found this one, accompanied me down to the cache with our two sons. I was at the search area before she could get down the hill. I checked the spot where I thought it would be, then realised that my GPS didn't agree. When I stopped being clever and paid attention to the magic box, I found the cache easily. These coordinates are super accurate. When I was sitting next to the cache the magic box had me at 0 metres!
Some very good views here, although it's a pity that power stanchions are necessary. Thanks

#1842- Just using the GPS or the map provided on the site is not always the best way as a few who ventured before this found. I had looked this up on Google Earth prior and also spoken to the yellow bird, so I was fairly confident that the road I parked at the end of was the best route. Followed the fire trail right to end. After an incident, which I'll let NickoHeap relate ans while the GPS settled and gave us a more accurate reading, I spotted it instantly, on higher ground than I was just about to try. A quick, easy find and a slower walk back up afterwards. Thanks willtt3- yes, great views too.
As we wandered down the track, the clue became obvious. I had just climbed in front of the rock, when a brown coloured snake, slittered between my legs. Crap, I've never jumped so quickly. Didn't want mum or my brother to go back down there. Meanwhile the GPS settled and said we didn't need to anyway. Phew! A quick find, but a little freaked out too!
What did you see? A snake? Oh, and there's the cache too. Thanks- found with mum and my brother.
BeforeI ventured off for this one I did a little research on the right approach. So down the fire trail I walked until near GZ. Then I tried to make this too hard until I saw something back where I had just been. Sure enough I soon had cache in hand. Then back up the hillm which is always harder on a Friday afternoon!?!

Made that a lot longer than we should have! Started by parking where we knew there was a trail.... turned out to be the wrong trail!! BB our way to GZ to make the find and grab on sunset. Then made the easy walk back along the right trail to the street only to find it was a different one to the we parked on.... Had to then walk the back streets to get back to the car.... A nice first up cache though.... Well done.
I made the mistake parking at the end of the wrong street and making this a D3/T3 cache instead. But it wasn't too difficult to past across the the right ridge. Getting to GZ, I saw some small overhang that would have been nice for a cache hide. A little further ahead was a rocky platform with provided some nice views to the north east. After about a 5 mins search, I finally turned the cache with was sneakily hidden. I had missed it a few times before finding it. Well done. A nice first cache. TFTC.
2TF. On the way down the mountains having to do an errand so I decided to stop by. I went down the wrong street and made the cache a terrain 4 or maybe the right street for those seeking a more adventurous approach. Saw lots of cave areas down there. Went down to the creek and back up again to the correct level. I came back via the track and enjoyed the walk to Rusden Road and back to the car. Couldn't but notice all the letter boxes. Eventually I will stop looking. TFTC.

A brief little jaunt after dinner. I manageg to pick the correct street & found the firetrail. As I parked, I briefly considered driving to another street & looking for the hard way to the crache. Not because of any misplaced macho masochism but because a neighbourhood dog came over and started looking up hopefully at my car door. I tentatively opened the door, ready to slam it quickly if he proved to be after dinner, but he turned out to be a very friendly dog who just wanted to say hello.
Leaving my new friend behind, I set off down the the track as the light started to fade & as a light misty rain began to fall. It was all very serene, a perfect time to cache in the bush.
Didn't take long to reach GZ, but I made the hunt a little harder by looking too low initially. Then I went back up & spotted what I should have seen earlier. I blame the fading light .
A nice spot for a cache, with good views over the lakes development. Thanks

Joint FTF with Geogollum. Despite the rain and potential hail we darted out to find this new cache. Brisk walk down the track and soon found ourselves at GZ. Geogollum extracted the cache and we signed the log trying not to let it get wet in the rain.
Views were diminishing with the rain so we legged it out of there quick smart.
Nice first hide.
