With a touch of ambiguity regarding a find nearby that one daren't take a risk on some two-hundred-and-ninety-something days into a streak, I considered it wise to detour to this trad and visit a second cache for the day seeing as though I had plenty of time after this morning's exam. The AL waypoints in the vicinity got me over the line to select this trad specifically, although I was half-expecting GZ to be packed - fortunately for me, there wasn't a single other person around! That didn't make the superficial task at hand greatly more palatable, but another stroke of luck came my way as I wandered through the branches and happened to look in precisely the right direction to spot the hide right away.I gleefully signed the log and headed on my merry way once more. Thanks to Tankengine for placing this one here!
I went out after dark to find a few caches and get the AL in the area. Thanks for the cache, Tankengine
Found It!Pretty sure I attempted this one last year but left with a DNF. Today I came back for another go and spotted it in under a minute!TFTC
Yay finally got to find this one. A lovely spot but a bit chilly this arvo. Nice container too. Thanks for getting me out and about Tankengine
Freezing cold winters day but what a wonderful spot for a cache! Was in the area for something else, and thought Id better drive past here and have a look.Such a glorious stretch of this lake. Came here once in a previous life to interview the great Jaime Fernandez but that was before I was a cacher, so I was blissfully unaware of this little fella. Thanks!
We circled and looked a few times before Mrs SKI was looking from the right angle and made the find.It was a very cold this morning when we woke. The water in the hose to our van had frozen, but fortunately we had near full tanks, so no drama. It took quite some time for the fog to clear and it didn't really warm up a lot, so we headed out first to focus on Labs so we could retreat to the warmth of the car often. The sun came out around lunch time so we headed off to do some sightseeing round Lake Burley Griffin caching as we went. Canberra is a beautiful city. We love the way the sprawl is spread with lots of green space so it seems you are still in the country. The lake with its parks was beautiful in the sun. We managed to find a variety of caches and had an enjoyable day.Thank you for your efforts in creating and maintaining the cache Tankengine.**SKI Pair****
Found on our canberra journey. We wander through the land, grabbing caches and seeing the sights even occasionally catching up with friends A good day was had while grabbing these caches with lots of miles covered Thanks for placing them *Found with [Geooh GO](https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.mobiltal.geoohGO)*
Out and about at the Canberra Mega with Honeysucker, we visited many caches today, thanks to all the cache owners for some awesome caches, and sorry for the generic log.Regards MrCoffee and the "row row your coffee cup" Coffee Clan.
Visiting Canberra to attend the Geobash over the Easter long weekend. Found this one on Easter Saturday.TFTC
A plan to grab a few tree climbing caches in the local area was set up and I was happy to participate. We had a band of brothers who could climb when called upon. However the organiser had arranged for just one person to climb all the trees. I did end up muscling in and climbing one myself, the climb gave me a sense of enjoyment. The logs were signed tree crew and the caches were replaced as found, with the exception of the cache that was found on the ground, lol.Afterwards we set off to grab the "Tick" geoart caches. They were spread out and some interesting hides. There were also a few caches we found along the way. There is so many caches in canberra it is crazy, lol.Logs were signed and caches replaced as found, thanks for the hides.
Today purchasing multi caches pre Mega with geo froendsCaching with and signing as the group '8for Qld +BHC' and having a great day.TFTCache Tankengine

We have arrived in ACT for the GEOBASH 2024, and are doing a mixture of sightseeing, caching and refreshing memories. We found this cache and signed the log. Tftc Tankengine
We arrived in Canberra for the MEGA and pick up some more caches .Found the cache with TBU1BIKESU. Tftc. Tankengine
Back in Canberra for the weekend to see my geocache adventure buddy. Our GPS's each had us in different spots but after a little while we soon spotted what we'd came for
This one was found after a bit of a search. So many possibilities! Riding scooters around lake burley griffin for the afternoon in the beautiful spring weather TFTC

GOOD TO GO!!!
GOOD TO GO!!!
We had a look for this one but couldn't find it today. I hope it's still there. My thanks to Tankengine for placing it.
No luck here despite an extensive search. Many of the trees have had a lot of branches removed. Our thanks anyway to Tankengine.
DNF at 2:12 PM.
We couldn't find it and all the branches of the trees in the grove have been cut off from the bottom to about 2 metres up the trees.

Such a sneaky hiding spot after looking in the wrong spot for 10 minutes I sort of saw something and there
It was thank you tankengine for maintaining the cache

Having previously DNFed this one, it was nice to come back to this one and quickly find it whilst getting some other caches in the area. TFTC
#971 Stopped by here on the way through to add another find to todays tally. Phones GPS had me bouncing around a few different spots but I go there eventually, it was a relatively quick find overall. This was very useful seeing as there was a group of people hanging around the nearby dock. A quick retrieval, sign and return before heading on my way. Thanks Tankengine for another find for today
GPS was jumpy ... but with a bit of looking around we found it. Two mates yagging along for the adventure and loving it!
One of archnemesis cache types. Was circling around for a good 15 minutes before I spotted the blighter.

Herself was delighted to find this relatively quickly as we have quite a bit of time in the past looking for TE caches.
Found this morning while passing by and managed to head off and grab this sneaky little hide, even saw some AIS rowers just over the road going through some training on some rower machines. Had the area to myself to search and soon had the cache located and logged, even found an old concrete picnic table under this over grown patch. Thanks Tankengine for the hide.
10:30 pm, full moon and the Silver Gulls in the jetty where going bananas.
Had been visiting a friend in Yarralumla and still needed a daily cache. This was just down the road.
Easy find. TFTC

I DNFed this one a few years ago while searching for it at night. I finally returned today and spent a lot of time going in circles before finally spotting it. TFTH
Out early this morning as I am supposed to be packing the van. I wandered in circles for a while trying to decide which tree it was that is hiding the cache. I stopped to read logs hoping for a hint, but no such luck. But luck was on my side because as I turned away from my phone there it was right in front of me. TFTC TE SL as SG
This took so much longer than it should have... epzccc131 finally made the find after expanding our search area
After a waaaaaaaay too long of a search thanks to two bouncy GPSs (yeah totally buying a good ‘caching only’ one) fiiiiinally hit the goods. TFTC!

Nice quick find on what has been a delightful morning around Weston Park and Yarralumla. TFTC
Out for a Wednesday night cache with Minniek and Countrykittykat. The hunt was made much more complicated by muggles and heavy rain, but we were committed!! Pleased to have been able to make the find on this one fairly quickly. Thanks for the adventure, thanks for the cache!
Evening out with Minniek, Nibletricecakes and countrykittycat, it might have been raining but that didn’t stop us on our hunt for caches. Just the thing after a crappy day at work - good company and adventures. TFTC
Another Wednesday afternoon of caching with nibletricecakes and GLISS!.....oh wait, GLISS! had better things to do so we were joined by k8tybee and countrykittykat.
On such a dreary afternoon, there weren't too many people out and about on the water. There was, however, a lot of muggles near GZ who were picking up their kids it seems. We ducked into GZ from the water side and soon divided and conquered with nibletricecakes quickly coming up with the find.

Unsure if there's an easy or hard way to get to this cache, but I attacked from the beach side, and knowing exactly what I was looking for, made a quick find. You probably won't have to climb a Redwood on this occasion!!
There many possibilities but after a short kind of methodical search the cache was found. Another classic TE cache. Tftc.
In the area with [@trodectus](http://coord.info/PR8JTE0) for a cache find today. Parked car and walked to GZ, after a short search, we had CIH. Log signed and returned. TFTC
Found with [@coybear2000](http://coord.info/PR9547H). We decided to head this way and find another in this area. We parked and walked to GZ. Once there we had a brief search and spotted the hide. Log signed and replaced and we continued our walk. There were quite a few people using the beach and taking dogs for a swim. TFTC.
Canberra Day 3: Lake Burley Griffin West Loop
Headed out today for another bike ride to find yet more caches in Canberra. The target was the far out AL waypoints and all the little Parks along the way. The ride went swimmingly with a lot of lovely vistas and views of the lake along the way, though slowly but surely, the midday heat started taking its toll. Huffed and puffed up to the National Arboretum visitor centre for lunch, and headed back down to finish off the rest of the circuit. It has been one tiring day, but generally very productive throughout.
This is the specific log for this cache:
Really starting to get the hang (get it?) of Tankengine’s caches now. Glad that I didn’t have to go in deep to get this one. While I didn’t have to scratch my chook, the branches did a little poking and scratching of their own. TFTC!

Geo hubby and I knew what we were looking for just had to see it. And there it was. Thank you Tankengine for bringing us here.
After a pleasant light lunch and glass of wine at the Yacht club, it was time to head back home. A few sunny breaks, but the wind was rather biting. Time for one more quick cache? Of course! Muggle hubby strode about through the trees, weaving this way and that, phone in hand, circled about, and started again. I turned on my Garmin GPSr and within a moment had the cache in hand. A remarkable difference between the two devices in terms of accuracy. Good to see that BB was the last finder prior... BB is really quite becoming the cache addict (no encouragement for me... haha!) TFTC TankEngine
Thought I was done for the day - but...just one more little geocache can’t hurt can it? Oh no - I am turning into a cache junkie!
Luckily for this one I now had my car and could drive right to it after a long afternoon of walking. I was parked in this exact spot not very long ago following the balloons around the lake during the festival, though this was just before I discovered caching so was oblivious to the hidden treasures I was walking straight past.
I must be getting into the head of this CO now as I found it in the very first place I looked!

Having travelled all the way from Brisbane to attend the Mega event over the Easter long weekend, I was out and about from just after sun up with the aim of collecting as many caches as possible on my lengthy wish list. This was one of the caches on the agenda for today.
There were a few muggles lurking around in the car park nearby but the vegetation provided a suitable screen to prevent any prying eyes while I retieved the cache. All found safe and well. TFTC

Day 6 of trip to Queanbeyan/Canberra for the Clear Waters Mega Event, travelling with RLD4963.
Today we had hired some bikes to go for a ride around Lake Burley Griffin. We picked them up on a clear sunny morning and headed off.
Really riding around the lake - so pretty and so many interesting structures and sculptures. The bike track is nice and flat and just a pleasure to ride around. We only made it part way around the lake today, so would love to come back and complete the full loop one day.
We really struggled with this one - took quite a bit of diligent searching. In the end RLD4963 came up with the goods in a spot I must have looked at 4 or 5 times.
Thanks for the cache Tankengine.

Both Happy Uke and myself were down this way for a MEGGGA. As a change from yesterday today was quite civilised with a plesant lunch and a walk around the lake shore and civic.
Thanks!
Thanks!
Weekend at Queanbeyan during Mega event. Last day in Canberra before heading home to Melbourne. Nice walk around the lake to find some few caches. Found it. Thanks Tankengine for placing this cache

Finalf29 and I were still a little sore from yesterday, so decided on an easy day just wandering around this part of the lake foreshore. We then had lunch in civic, visited a few gaming shops and finally made our way down to the Mega to complete the Lab caches. Great day with fantastic company!
As we approached the GZ we could see person already there. They were walking their dogs but also peering intently into the bushes. I gave the secret geocachers hand signal (I held up my phone at him) and he gave me the secret geocachers reply (he held his phone up at me)... and then we were talking all things caching. A few sweeps around and Finalf29 soon had the cache. Nice to meet a fellow cacher. Thanks

We've been to the flashmob, and I've dropped my lady and her kids at the Yarrlumla play station Easter egg hunt. The poor GeoSchnauzers have been cooped up at home for the last couple of days, so I brought them along for a walk and an adventure. I parked in a side street off what passes for the main road here, and walked up to GZ, where I started looking, and found a couple of suspicious looking geocachers walking towards me. After a short search, one of them turned up the cache. Thanks Tankengine. Nice one.
Then I took the dogs for a nice walk.
