Up the walking up the top of the ridge it was the start of the downhill. This one was found easy enough.Cheers
We are staying for couple of days in Mount Isa, getting a lot to visit due to the many caches in town. For Multis, Adventure Labs and Mysteries we see some places twice, but that's okay.On occasion of going back and forward, we take the odd trads as well. Thanks to all cache owners who have put out the caches. Tftc groewrs
Enjoying my very first visit to Mount Isa in the company of RoddyC, hatzofff, and grannysmith1947. To save space in the log sheets, we are signing as Team Q4.There were a good variety of caches on offer, and the majority were easy enough to find and were in good condition, with no DNF's to record. The scenery was ever changing, and we came across some really spectacular views today. Thank you, growrs, for placing this cache for our benefit and enjoyment. The dam and surrounding area out here were beautiful and a real pleasure to visit ??
TFTC smile 16979 out and about on a lovely day signed and replaced as Team Q4 Snickersallan Hatzofff RoddyC and TBU FPThank you groewrs for placing this cache for our enjoyment
We started at the furthest cache out on Lake Mondarra and worked our way back towards the City. Some caches were easy to get to, some needed bigger efforts, some were quickly found, some took longer .... It was a fun day out. Thanks to all cache owners who put out these caches for our enjoyment.
After QOGM2023 Longreach so close had to come up and visit some friends who I knew in Nanango and Roma. Thanks for placing and maintaining this one. TFTC groewrs
Travelling with RoddyC, snickersallan and grannysmith1947 as TeamQ4.Day 3 in the Mount Isa area to complete some challenges and get some more smiles and caching with TBUs.Again took to the ridge and aimed at another dead tree. A great home for this target cache.TFTCache groewrs
More exploring around Mount Isa with hatzofff, Grannysmith1947 and Snickersallan. Signed as Team Q4.Today we journey to the lake and back after some really early hill work.Glad it is not really hot yet.Log signed and cache replaced as found on 27 September 2023. TFTC, groewrs
Day 19With the QOGM event now over it was time to head up to Mount Isa to a town we had never visited before bringing us higher in Queensland than we have ever been before. Our aim is to do some solved puzzles, multis, the virtual, labcaches and some older trads, not to mention sightseeing. Our first full day caching locally we set out after breakfast to explore the town and surrounding areas. This cache was a must do as it helps fulfil a challenge back in town. The fit Triton headed off with a hat and bottle of water to achieve this. Once on the ridge line it made for an easier hike. Magnificent views from up here. Thanks groewrs for the placement.
On my way to NT via Birdsville Queensland with a few detours for shires. TFTC.
This is a great little series. Starts with nice views and then onto awesome views. Rock scramble and spider dodging is fun. What's with that grass that goes straight through my jeans.

What a great walk along the ridge line to GZ.
Views down to the lake on one side, and the other side…views down into a small valley and straight back up again.
The sun was shining, the breeze was cool and so it was a perfect day to be out walking today. We are very happy to have been able to have the time to complete this series while we are visiting Mount Isa.
Thanks groewrs

Found at 2:23:00 PM(t) GAFF1.
For a moment I thought I had to go all the way down this hill and then go up the next! However looking to my left, I could see a "bridge" that joined the two hills, however it was a bit of an ordeal making my way through there as those massive spider webs just kept slinging me back and then the loose rocks were a bit of a drama!
Great views from GZ though!
Thanks groewrs.

Rambling across the top of this ridge, it was becoming increasingly obvious that I was going to run out of light. Found this one ok and set off quickly for the last. Thanks for the hide and the cardio.
Fairly easy going to get this. Bit hot and it is so early in the day. Thanks for placing these groewrs. Nice trail
Extension of bush walking rule #1: ALWAYS wear your sock protectors, even though you wear long trousers, the sticky little beasts still find their way into your socks.

Continues our ridge walk and found the cache. Great views and weather made for an excellent outing. Found easy enough, though again my phone gps was out
Straight up from new roadway midday 38c must be keen it’s only a couple hundred meters. Easy find great view of my favourite fishing spot. All caches in series complete. Cache in great condition. TFTC
Still travelling NT after the Red Centre Experience but now moving towards Birdsville in QLD for the Big Red Bash.
Now in Mt Isa taken a while to settle in but today we headed out for a cahcing day.

Heading out early to grab the 4 RRR's. Found this one after a nice casual walk. Tftc. Took nothing, left car & signed log
While staying at Mount Isa we tackled a few new caches that have been published since our last visit and this was one of them. Today we were up early to beat the hot weather and tackled this series. The third one was also an easy find but again you had to dodge the spider webs, a thick and strong web tackled Mr "T" as he ventured across the top of the mountain. Off to the next one.
Thanks for placing and maintaining this cache for our enjoyment.

Found with my parents MalDawg and StephLego and my little brother. Long walk with lots of flies
StephLego, WillPunkey, the small geokid and I set off early in the morning to tackle these before the summer heat set in. The drive to the parking area was not too bad in our Subaru but I would not recommend doing it in a standard 2wd sedan. Some great views from up here and plenty of flies to keep us company. The walk from the previous cache was reasonably flat but it took us some time because WillPunkey had to pick up every rock and have a look. TFTC Groewrs
Trip to the lake this cool afternoon, still the sun was strong. Having been at both ends of the track earlier I has to start with the climb up to the top.
Good views and an easy stroll from the other cache up here.
Thanks for the hide

Wow, what a walk! Penny enjoyed the first cache, then her vertigo kicked in. We managed to find the second cache before we had to return to the car.
Ian then drove along the track a bit further and attempted the remaining caches from the far end, before scrambling down the rock face to return to the vehicle.
[/Blue]
Coordinate Accuracy: We found the cache around 2m from where the GPS said we should be looking.
Cache Condition: The container and log book are in good shape.
Took: Nothing.
Left: Smiley Badge.
Thanks for the hunt today,
Regards
Ian & Penny.[font=Verdana]

Enjoyed the walk along the ridge to get to the saddle. Again this cache hasn't been found for nearly a year. TFTC
This was the second cache for team cruzeycoop on this walk....Took the miners hat, left a bracelet. Thanks for the cache and a great walk.
Long hike, had to mooove the cows along, an you can follow their trail almost. Took nothing, left the Xstrata helmet light. TFTC
Found by Sunshine Toledo and Her Majesty at 10:10am. Before the sun got too hot we set off for some Lake Moondarra caches. We did this series in reverse but would not recommend it in hindsight. Drove the car up to this cache and went straight up to GZ. The cache is n good condition. TFTC
First up a huge thanks to groewrs for the waypoint information they have supplied, also for taking care to ensure that their co-ords are spot on. This earns them a favorite for each of the caches in this series.
Great views from up here. A lot of evidence of the cows being up here in the last 24 hours. We removed many many cobwebs on the way to this cache. SL TNLN TFTC

After visiting Mount Isa today, we will continue west, on our 2nd trip around Australia.
This was a great walk along the ridge, most over looking the lake.
With some fantastic rock formations, this is a recommended walk.
Thanks for the cache, groewrs.

Continuing my Rocky Ridge Ramble from "How's the Views?", I bounced along over the rocky terrain
Oh this is fun !!
What a great place to ramble
And so I rambled along at my own pace until I reached the saddle.
Yee Har !! Ride 'em Cowboy !!
Or maybe not [:o)]
A nice easy cache to round up and hog tie [^]
TFTC, the views, the relaxing stroll along the ridge top

As they used to say in the western movies "saddle up and we'll cut 'em off at the pass". Found this one with Mrs George. TNLN TFTC, groewrs.
Despite not being a climb, this part was harder, because the sun came out to play in a major way. Very very hot, even at 0930 or so.
I surprised a couple of roos, and about a million spiders. No snakes though, which surprised me.
Left a keyring tape measure.
TFTC groewrs, you are a little bit evil, aren't you? [:-)]
