Ignoring advice to turn back and walk in from road WP,I found it pretty easy to slide down the hill and walk along the gully. A little walk up hill to grab this one from the gully but pretty easily really.Nice way to end 4 pretty quick finds and walk back to the car.Took me about an hour to do all four. Thanks for the rad caches Cheers
We are staying for couple of days in Mount Isa, getting a lot to visit due to the many caches in town. For Multis, Adventure Labs and Mysteries we see some places twice, but that's okay.On occasion of going back and forward, we take the odd trads as well. Thanks to all cache owners who have put out the caches. Tftc groewrs
Enjoying my very first visit to Mount Isa in the company of RoddyC, hatzofff, and grannysmith1947. To save space in the log sheets, we are signing as Team Q4.There were a good variety of caches on offer, and the majority were easy enough to find and were in good condition, with no DNF's to record. The scenery was ever changing, and we came across some really spectacular views today. Thank you, growrs, for placing this cache for our benefit and enjoyment. The dam and surrounding area out here were beautiful and a real pleasure to visit
TFTC smile 16980 out and about on a lovely day signed and replaced as Team Q4 Snickersallan Hatzofff RoddyC and TBU FPThank you groewrs for placing this cache for our enjoyment
We started at the furthest cache out on Lake Mondarra and worked our way back towards the City. Some caches were easy to get to, some needed bigger efforts, some were quickly found, some took longer .... It was a fun day out. Thanks to all cache owners who put out these caches for our enjoyment.
Travelling with RoddyC, snickersallan and grannysmith1947 as TeamQ4.Day 3 in the Mount Isa area to complete some challenges and get some more smiles and caching with TBUs.Back on the ridge and now heading down to the WP to head through the fence. Yep. Following instructions and then wondered where to next. I even found a couple of steps down there. GZ was quickly in sight and there we were with our last one on the Rocky Ridge. Now off to the trailhead to get out.Did I say trail head. It appears that it may have been easier for us to go up this creek bed to GZ instead for an easier adventure. I am happy with the way we went .TFTCache groewrs
More exploring around Mount Isa with hatzofff, Grannysmith1947 and Snickersallan. Signed as Team Q4.Today we journey to the lake and back after some really early hill work.Well, that was a really steep bit!Log signed and cache replaced as found on 27 September 2023. TFTC, groewrs
Day 19With the QOGM event now over it was time to head up to Mount Isa to a town we had never visited before bringing us higher in Queensland than we have ever been before. Our aim is to do some solved puzzles, multis, the virtual, labcaches and some older trads, not to mention sightseeing. Our first full day caching locally we set out after breakfast to explore the town and surrounding areas. This cache was a must do as it helps fulfil a challenge back in town. The fit Triton headed off with a hat and bottle of water to achieve this.Continuing on to the last one the cache was found half way down the incline. The trek down was shaley but he made it ok down to the car where I was waiting for him. Thanks groewrs for the placement.
TFTC. I got up at the crack of dawn and set out to find this cache. Word of warning if you suffer from arachnophobia you are best not to attempt this cache. I feel like I have seen more spider webs and spiders today than I have in the last 10 years combined. I stamped the log and replaced the cache as found. thanks. For placing and maintaining this cache and for bringing me to a part of the Isa that I would not have seen if it weren't for geocaching.
On my way to NT via Birdsville Queensland with a few detours for shires. TFTC.
This is a great little series. Starts with nice views and then onto awesome views. Rock scramble and spider dodging is fun. What's with that grass that goes straight through my jeans.

A few days in Mount Isa has afforded us the time to do a couple of walks and this one we did this morning.
We parked not too far from GZ and went straight up. As it turns out we went a little too high, and so needed to come back down again.
So many spiderwebs on route today, but our walking poles were a definite help in combating those.
Thanks groewrs.

Found at 1:59:00 PM(t) GAFF3.
I did this little series back to front so this was the first cache. I was hoping to find some sort of a track, but all I found was loose rocks and steep ground! Managed to get through the wire fence and edged my way round to the cliff and with excellent co-ords the cache was spotted quickly.
Now to get on top of the cliff and go higher!
Thanks groewrs.

Returned today with plenty of light and from a much better starting point. Quite an easy find from this end. Thanks for the series. Very enjoyable.
Ran out of light today. Will have another attempt over the weekend. Very steep terrain in this area.
Had to check the hint as the gps was sending me up the hill again, understandably from where i was. Dropped doen to the low side and picked it up. The rocky hollow is now a bubbling brook. Wouldn’t see that often here
My muggle husband and I are on holidays from Brisbane visiting a good friend in Mt Isa. We got up early today to beat the heat. Enjoyed the climb to gz where it took a little while to spot. Thanks for placing this cache here for us to enjoy
That's quite a steep scrambel down here, but made it and also through the fence. Didn't like the last two caches too much, especially since there are huge spider webs, looking like clothlines. And we feel like dead roos, that the flies like to devour, they are so annoying. We tried to flee, but the way was stony and we had to wave a stick like Harry Potter, to get rid of the spiderwebs.

Scramble down the hill to the cache. Gps most accurate at this one in the series. Walked through spider gully back to the road. Mostly OK but screamed and jumped when I nearly hit a massive web that I dropped both my sunnies and gps. Didn't realise till we were back on the roadside and had to backtrack. Great walk and awesome time. Thanks so much for the Ridge series!
Still travelling NT after the Red Centre Experience but now moving towards Birdsville in QLD for the Big Red Bash.
Now in Mt Isa taken a while to settle in but today we headed out for a cahcing day.
We managed to stop and find your cache along our way. Mr Felix started the Rocky Ridge Ramble from here to be collected by Mrs Felix at the start.! Really glad we read the previous notes to do it this way round.

Heading out early to grab the 4 RRR's. What a slide down . Found this last one all done in just under an hour. Tftc took nothing, left car & signed log. Now just the stroll back to the car on even ground
Found the last one with no trouble except the occasional sliding with my joggers and the spiders (probably should have worn boots found myself a trusty Spider removal stick)a nice casual stroll along tue road back to the car Thanks For The Great Adventure really enjoyed this.
While staying at Mount Isa we tackled a few new caches that have been published since our last visit and this was one of them. Today we were up early to beat the hot weather and tackled this series. Onto the forth one but followed the cache desciption in crossing the fence and then onto the cache. I was a bit too high and found the cache as per hint. I then walked to the last waypoint where Mrs "T" was waiting, what a great series, totally enjoyed the walk and the panaromic view. Thanks groewrs for bringing us here!
Thanks for placing and maintaining this cache for our enjoyment.

Found with my parents MalDawg and StephLego and my little brother. Long walk with lots of flies
StephLego, WillPunkey, the small geokid and I set off early in the morning to tackle these before the summer heat set in. The drive to the parking area was not too bad in our Subaru but I would not recommend doing it in a standard 2wd sedan. Some great views from up here and plenty of flies to keep us company. The cache was sitting out in the open, it seems that it may have fallen with rocks. We placed it back where we thought it should have been. TFTC Groewrs
Hi there groewrs. We found your cache "Rocky Ridge Ramble - Rocky hollow" at 10:16:00 AM today. This cache makes our find count 11090.

Wow, what a walk! Penny enjoyed the first cache, then her vertigo kicked in. We managed to find the second cache before we had to return to the car.
Ian then drove along the track a bit further and attempted the remaining caches from the far end, before scrambling down the rock face to return to the vehicle.
[/Blue]
Coordinate Accuracy: We found the cache around 2m from where the GPS said we should be looking.
Cache Condition: The container and log book are in good shape.
Took: Nothing.
Left: Smiley Badge.
Thanks for the hunt today,
Regards
Ian & Penny.

Really loved the four RRR caches and the challenge of the terrain. Congratulations Groewrs for this fantastic bush walk. TFTC
The mandatory drive out to the lake. Saw a small croc close to the rest area before driving this way to log a cache too.
Stared up the hill, a bit too high even. Lots of spiderwebs across the path, picked up a stick to clear most of it with.
Cache found in good condition at perfect coordinates.
Thanks for the cache

Team cruzeycoop found this great collection of caches on what turned out to be a good day for a walk (not to hot)......We decided to leave the car on the side sealed road and start with this cache first.
Took the lego man and left an 8 Ball keyring.

Went to the nearest of the 4 in the series that i logged into my GPS, thinking it was the start.
After reading the description, i am sure this was the end.
Will pick up the others on my next roster and confirm

Found by Sunshine Toledo and Her Majesty at 9:50am. Before the sun got too hot we set off for some Lake Moondarra caches. We did this series in reverse but would not recommend it in hindsight. Parked nearby and made the scramble in to GZ. TFTC
First up a huge thanks to groewrs for the waypoint information they have supplied, also for taking care to ensure that their co-ords are spot on. This earns them a favorite for each of the caches in this series.
On reflection we do not believe we came down the suggested way, but still managed to come down safely and get through the fence without injury.
Perhaps the next time we come to Mt. Isa this series will have grown and give us loads of more fun.
A big thanks to groewrs for this series.

After visiting Mount Isa today, we will continue west, on our 2nd trip around Australia.
This was a great walk along the ridge, most over looking the lake.
With some fantastic rock formations, this is a recommended walk.
Thanks for the cache, groewrs.

I was enjoying my Rocky Ridgle Ramble when suddenly ....
... Dum, Dum, Dah !!
The Rocky Ridge abruptly ended [:o]
Someone had put a ravine in my way, and the GPS was pointed into it [:o]
Years of practice caching in SA's Flinders Ranges had prepared me for this moment though
So off I slithered and scrambled over the loose rocks, downward ever downward.
I reached a point where the GPS showed only 20 metres to go.
Someone had stuck a fence in me way though !! [:o]
So I followed it
That got me within 5 metres of GZ.
Now which cliff is which ?
There was no single cliff, but a whole bunch of little cliffs, cascading down the hillside.
So off I went, checking the base of each as I lost altitude
Then the fence came back into play.
I had to cross it !!
But strudy and menacing as it looked, it was an easy climb over
Finally at the penultimate little cliff I saw a couple of rocks that did not belong !!
Sure 'nuff behind 'em was the long sought after cache
From here it was a short stroll along the 'cow pad' along the creek back to the road which led me back to where I had left the geomobile
A big thanks to Groewrs for a fun ramble and some much needed exercise [^]

Seeing the 4.5 star terrain rating, was ready to take abseil gear and belay ropes. Thankfully they were not needed.
However the descent to the cache was certainly interesting and required care. Eventually found by Mrs George. TNLN TFTC.

Mmm!!! would never have thought to put a cache here. Walked in from road up the gully then up to rock face and straight onto cache. Geo daughter again came through with this one. Not going any futher tonight so one left for another day. TFTC
This was the most challenging bit of the series, although the fence wasn't an issue for a short person - there's a lovely big gap to squeeze through.
There are about a million "cache like" rock piles in the area, which made finding the actual cache a bit tricky. I didn't read the clue or difficulty rating and spent a bit of time climbing straight back up the cliff because of tempting looking piles of rocks. Duh! The actual cache was reasonably obvious in the end, thank goodness, because the rocks were hot!
I took the GC and left another compass.
TFTC groewrs, I'm kind of glad I don't have to do this one again, certainly in summer at least - it was bloody hot, and I found this last cache at 1015, not even the middle of the day.
I'm looking forward to your Moondarra Island series.....
