Run its race and a DNF and a message to say missing so I have decided to archive as no longer able to maintain this cache
We looked for a while yet nothing to show for our efforts. Probably worth a CO check. TFTH!
On the way from Darwin to Perth, the caches were a welcome stop.
Some could be found quickly, others I searched longer.
Thanks for hiding.

2Today our tour - which began in Perth, WA , and led us thru Western, Northern and Southern Australia back to Perth, was simply driving from Tom Price to Port Hedland.
On the way we came to some interesting locations. Here we searched, found and logged this Tradi-Cache.
Weather was good in the morning and it should even get better during the day.
Thanks to 'Chan 5456' for showing us this location, for the fun we had with 'Edge of the Salt Pan' and the smiley. The search here and today didn't take too much time, fortunately.
Greetings from Germany and we hope to see you soon in the forest, prairie, desert or outback .

Found during my half lap advanture from Adelaide. Container and log book in good condition. TFTC.
Conveniently place cache between two earthcaches. Made the find as we headed down to the very end. Thanks Chan 5456
AdVANturing around Australia, and was keen to grab a few caches to mark Port Hedland on the geomap while I was passing through. Loved the salt pans and massive pile of salt, but couldn't understand why this was the only thing in town not stained with iron ore! The cache was a quick find as per the hint. Cheers much Chan 5456.
Still there
Introduced a couple colleagues to geo on our RDO, they left a breatho tube

This cache was found today and brings our overall cache find tally to 9858. We found this as part of our 2018 Round Australia trip.
Found this one on the way out from the nearby earthcache, there is so much salt here!
Thanks Chan 5456 for the cache.

A nice view of the salt lakes thanks for bringing us here all is good with the cache on a road trip from Tassie
We are on a return visit to Port Hedland where we have visited both 4 years ago, and 8 years ago. Could to see a range of new caches on this visit to add to our enjoyment.
Its hard to beat the scope of the industry here still. Love the trains, the length of which we see nowhere else, the number of ships (didn't think to ask at the Visitor's Centre just how many are out there waiting this time, although did note all bar one is heading for China!) and the coastal scenery. Amazing!
After travelling on from the earlier Earthcache we came to this one where we made the find in a logical location . Great view of the salt lake.

In Port Hedland for work for the weekend, I am taking the opportunity to grab a few caches in town and out towards Karratha to cross of another 2 LGAs.
Had a look around the fringe of the salt pan, then grabbed this cache. Nice quick find.

Last time I was here, I spent ages looking for this cache. I’m not sure why, because it was easy find today. Cheers.
On a course in Hedland. A few quick caches the day before. Thankyou - not sure what the hint is about!
Amazing place. The coords were spot on, even though the clue was a distraction. I looked at the right angle and saw the container. Thanks Chan 5456.
Great view of the salt pans and mountains. Found while staying in Blackrock caravan park
Pug002 found it 11/8/2017 on our trip to the Pilbara geocaching. TFTC Chan 5456 So nice to get away from the cold weather for a while.
I had to go into Port Hedland today, so I picked up some of the local caches while I was in the vicinity. I got this one at 13:35 this afternoon. TNLNSL TFTC Chan 5456.
This was our last cache for the day and as it was quite dark by now,the cache remained hidden for a while. Car headlights did not really help, but the torch light certainly did. The cache was in good condition and our name was added to the list of finders. Then it was back to camp for the night. Thank you to Chan 5456 for another smiley face on our map.
Day six of Barnzy12 and Cravo10 adventure to the Northwest of WA, filling out boots with LGAs, rare DT, old caches, and good old fashioned red dirt!
Today we travelled from Karratha to Port Hedland via Cossack, Roebourne, Whim Creek, south hedland and various other detours along the way.
We started the day retracing our steps from the night before going out to Roebourne before turning off to Cossack to complete the three awesome multis out that way and a few other caches before turning back to Roebourne to continue towards Hedland.
We continued along the highway collecting all bar one of the smileys along the way, which was a DNF and one was unable to be reached in our 4wd. We pulled into whim creek, just to check out the pub, ended up having a beer whilst there, and a quick game of pool, we even had a national celebrity turn up in the form of Pauline Hanson and her entourage who had stopped in to get a drink and pose for photos with locals, which was most surprising.
We continued into Port Hedland and really hit our straps here collecting urban cache after urban cache making up bucket loads of time that we lost with one cacher enjoying a snooze in this morning!
Huge day again with 25 plus caches reeled in and another LGA picked up along with some older caches too! Thanks to the local COs we enjoyed ourselves thoroughly today!

I like the salty view! Easy find on a hot day - but when aren't they hot up here in February!
Another smiley added here today on a 5 week Pilbara and Kimberley break, a fantastic view from here of the salt operations TFTC

This eluded us today. then 80yr old MR Cacher Slipped on rocks took off a lot of skin & that was the end of that!!!!!
In Hedland for a holiday that is almost over, so I am catching up on some caches. This road leads to a lovely area further on. Thanks for bringing me here.
Flew in this morning for a couple of meetings then heading to see family in Karratha
Grabbed this one on my way into Nelson Point. The good old 4wd hire car survived well took a couple of mins to find the cache then another rattling drive back to the main road.
A nice area out here but no time to explore further.
Thanks

In town for a couple of days grabbing a few caches
I thought the road down wasn't going to be bad as in my daughters 2wd wow a nice lot of corrugations then had to go back so tried my hardest to go slow and miss them
Hope I haven't rattled anything loose
Nice easy find then took some photos
Last cache for the day

A favourite point for a great location tho being in the 200 series would have been a smoother drive

The big move from Townsville, QLD to Mandurah, WA. So far 6000km ( more than the anticipated 5000) and lots of caches to keep us entertained.
Stop in Port Hedland on the way to Newman to spend some time with the in-laws before continuing on down south.

Had a quick scan around with no luck so got down on hands and knees and soon grabbed the cache. Tftc Chan 5456
Got this on the way back from picking up hubby from the airport. It took a little while, but the GPS was pretty much spot on. This one was the second of 2 that we looked for this morning (it kept the ferals happy!). TFTC
A longer than needed search here but eventually found it.
Shame about all the rubbish. Trust your GPS. Was spot on for me.
Heading out further now to see what's there.

Took me a bit to find this one. Was a bit thrown off by the hint, but the co-ords were good.
Spent some time looking around Port Hedland and doing some caching.
Drove out here nice and steady with the caravan in tow. Local muggles seem to think it's a race track.
Pulled up at GZ, soon found the cache, and decided it was a good spot for lunch.
Thanks for the cache, Chan 5456.

Great spot for a geocache. Had a bit of a 4wd while we were down here, our 6th cache for the day around Hedland & found them all. Time to head home & grab an ice cream on the way. TFTC.
Great cache at the end of the salt mine. Always thought about driving. I'm glad I did.
Checked site and co-ords and might tweek that.
Took Kora Koala TB to continue it journey.
It might go the long way to Rottnest Is but hey it just may get to it's destination quicker by going further away.
Remember it's not the destination but the journey!!!!

Quiet place and very interesting as this is where some of the salt used to melt the snow in Frankfurt may actually come from.
If that is the case then Lumen-Art-Studio (of Kora koala fame) I hope that you enjoy the picture as that white hill in the background is a salt stockpile just outside Port Hedland in NW Australia.
