After a morning of caching in Shakespeare Park some of the team SEAC team continued on caching as it turns out well into the night!!
No luck for us here today. There seems to be a new bit of concrete near the wall and we fear it may have caused the demise of the cache

Headed up this way today after one of our group suggested (for the fourth attempt) to take a walk around the park....as we had camped up here a few times before, we jumped at the opportunity, plus it was an opportunity of catching up with the group after being locked down by Covid-19.....parked, and headed into the park.
Now out of the park collecting nearby caches....
Located a large piece of new concrete that appeared to be in a prime location to cover cache placement, but no cache find here today.
TFTC.

Noticed what appeared to be fresh concrete that had been poured or discarded at GZ. We all thought that the container may now be more permanently entombed.... If nothing else it will increase the D rating. Or a very hefty TOTT is required now.
No luck for us today as the cache definitely seems DEAD!

Out in the Gulf Harbour area so took the opportunity to collect some smiley faces. An easy find thanks to the hint. Thanks G-2
End of the line here with that gate barring further progress. Parked nearby and headed to GZ. Soon spotted the cache and when trying to remove the log a whole load of Ants and Unkles came flooding out. Hastily re-assembled and replaced as found. Itchy times on the peninsula.
A double pronged geocaching attack on the area North of me; first up was a trip to the wonderful Stillwater and get all those here and there caches that have been previous DNFs or just not attempted as too far off the main trail when my companions haven't liked the diversion option. This was followed by a quick dash to Orewa for one before finishing off out on the Whangaparoa peninsula grabbing random caches here and there. Two dozen was the haul and the day was a combination of blazing sunshine and warmth, and Sou-Wester gusts and torrential rain dropping the temp down to low-double digits, strange weather day. Thanks to all (both?) COs for their placements.

Well it took a little longer to find than is should off, as I focused to much on the end of the wall.
Was thinking it was not there, then opened up my gaze and spotted something! yep it was, and the smallest log ever was retrieved from the huge plastic bag it was encased it.
Happy to find and be signing the log, thanks G-2 for the hide

What a shock, I found a G-2 cache in less than 30 seconds, then a gust of wind almost took the log away!
#1105. Walking the dog with my sister I realised there was a cache here. It took me barely any time to find it... sis says she probably wouldn't have found it there had I not found it first!
Signed it and replaced it ready for the next person! Thank you very much for the cache!

Decided to take the opportunity to collect a few caches around this part of Auckland as the weather was forecast'd to be excellent and clear, and I had not been up here for a very long time. An advantage was also that it gave me an opportunity to go for a bit of a bike ride once the sun came up.
Started out the day in the dark and still managed to make it home by mid afternoon so all in all not such a bad day to be had in the sun.
After having a bit of a play around Millwater and Orewa I had a little more time to spare so thought that I would grab a last few (must come back out here and complete the area once again) before starting the drive back south.
A big thanks to all the Co's whom have taken the time and effort to maintain the caches.
thanks for the cache, thanks for the placement.

Found as a part of a previous group TanjackMüley, aka WanderingSparrow. Now I'm continuing on my own. TFTC
I came out today to work my way along to the Whangaparaoa Peninsula to clean up several stragglers.
This was the first of three I got along this part of the path. Once I saw who the CO was, this was an easy find. I was expecting to need a ToTT, but the cache came out without any trouble. TFTC.

Brief visit in Gulf Harbour after two geocaching Events in Orewa. Quick find at GZ. Something new from CO for me anyway ... TFTC
Out and about for a few hours of cache detection out on the Whangaparaoa Peninsula today. It was a good day for it weather wise. I had parked up on Parkview Drive earlier, but as there were muggles nearby I walked over to "slice of heaven" instead. On my return the coast was now clear and I was able to swoop in and make the find. Found in the first place I checked. Unusual hide this one. Cheers for the cache placement!
I was supposed to meet up with classmates to work on a group assignment, however we ended up meeting the day before, so I was now free to join Merlot58 and Jag50 who were heading up to Whangaparoa.
This one didn't stay hidden from us for too long, even though it was well concealed.

I was in the area today with Jag50 and Aiden29. We parked close by and made a nice quick find here.
Kiwiscot competing in her 8th Weetbix Kids Tryathlon event at Manly. Swung by here afterwards to pick up our daily cache. Also managed to pick up some cornish pasties from nearby Hobbs Wharf for our dinner. Mighty nice. No trouble finding the hide. All good. TFTC
Being the last day of the year, we checked our finds tally and noted we were seven caches short of 1600 finds for the year. Naturally we couldn't leave it like that, so decided on a short excursion to Whangaparaoa to round our tally off. After finding a couple of new caches in Shakespear park we headed to Gulf Harbour. Once at Gz we spied something interesting, which turned out be be parts of the cache container, minus the log as Gyro27 noted. We put it back together as best we could, and added a waterproof log strip.
After a five year pause in geocaching due to the birth of our daughter and our move to Gulf Harbour, this was one of the caches we found on our first day back.
Log book is missing. Cache has been compromised and is exposed. Needs attention.

After some morning errands on the north shore and enjoying a walk in Shakespeare Park I collected some more smileys in the area. Found the white tube but needs some TLC with a new log. TFTC
Found the item, but it is compromised. The centre is exposed and home to a couple of snails. Couldn't find any sign of the log
Joined Darby&Joan for a day of caching.
Started at Sheakspire with any caches neither of us hsd found abd then headed back along the penisula via golf harbour.

Its been a while since we've been out on the Hibiscus Coast. Out with Helefant today, to make some finds. Cool cache container. SL. TFTC.
Interesting container that had us waiting around for quite a while before discovering. It was muggles galore up until then. Sadly, some ignorant dog owner has dumped a poo bag right next to the cache. TFTC
Was a very hot day to be out walking but with such great views I made the most of it. Checked one spot before finding the cache in another. Nice camo. TFTC
Nice quick find on a very windy day.
Am walking my dogs on the path, great views from here. Thanks for bringing me to this spit

Great start to the beginning of our walk. Been past here before but didn't have the time to find it until now. Thanks.
Thanks for this very unusual camo Glyn ! Not anything like you would expect ! Also thanks to tramping kiwi for the dry paper ....
Original log dried out but too fragile to unroll. Added a strip of waterproof paper as a new log. TFTC
The log is soaked and virtually unreadable, it needs an inner container to keep the log dry.
Original container but log soaked and unreadable, could do with the addition of a bison to keep the log dry.

Found today, going for a walk in the area. Needs new log, has been wet & dried - a bit mouldy.
Excellent cammo. I think it may have come apart as the log was very wet & unable to sign it. Thanks for the placement
Well, well, well that was neat! But wasn't surprised it was one of yours Glyn when I looked at the description! Shockingly well done.
We picked this one up on the way to a friends house. Nice camo, as we have come to expect from Glyn. TFTC!
Found while out on the peninsula with funkymunkyzone having picked up a couple of new cache finds. The shocking hide was immediately apparent. Thanks!
Found while out caching with slieschke tonight. He went one side of the wall, and I went the other and immediately found the cache. I was shocked I found it so quickly. Very nice. TFTC!!!
Needed a quick cache to keep the mileage going and after a case of cache blindness nearby this one was my next target. As always the contents of Glyn's workshop are impressive. TFTC
Continuing our run of finds in the area, great views at GZ for this one, and a well disguised cache TFTC.
It was the turn of my grandson to visit as his sister was with me last week. So it was another caching day and having to leave the house painting for another day. Damn!!
We decided to come out onto the Whangaparaoa Peninsula to pick up some caches that this old boy hadn't done for a while. My helper finally located this on on his own.
Cheers for the cache.

Clever hide, few muggles around looking at us suspiciously, but hidden back safe. TFTC
Found orginally as part of phasevisitor team, now created own account, re-logging as yorkshirekiwi83.
We spent the afternoon picking up a few caches around Whangaparaoa. There was only one thing it could be, so we soon had the cache in hand! A nice hide, TFTC!

Roy had a day off today so sent him on a mission to find this cache. No worries with the find and great to have some nice local caches to find (saves on fuel). Bonus of a FTF as well so thanks Glyn
