Logs

17-Oct-24
Reading the logs took me to the destination, some way off my calculated GZ coordinates. And can see the taped bits but no replacement cache described by CO. So this is my DNF as I am unable to sign anything even if Im where a few finders outlined in their online entries. Could CO X-pair pls have a check or rethink of a better hiding spot that wont cause the cache to disappear yet again.

06-Oct-24
Bit sad this was gonna be my first but I think it was muggled

12-May-24
Dnf - doesn't about 20mins looking around. Was rainy. No-one around. Read past logs and got confused on where it would be.

18-Jan-24
Found it with a mate 2 weeks ago was lots of fun

11-Jan-24
My first multi. Very fun. Met owner at another local cache.

17-Nov-23
Being in the area and continuing on from trying to do more multi this was close. Made the calcs from WP1 and arrived at GST to find the previous attachment but no cache. Looked some more and shifted to a similar feature and made the find and sign. Not sure if my maths was out or if the description needs updating. TFTC

18-Sep-23
Mint tin has been replaced once again, it is stuck with velcro so make sure there is a firm fitting when replacing.

27-Jul-23
Just replaced it and it has been muggled already, everything is missing including the tape and magnets that were attached.

20-Jul-23
Cache has been replaced in a new location. Bring a pen , it is a mint tin, watch out for muggles.

09-Oct-21
Solved the multi and found the location but the cache has been muggled. Not sure of the etiquette. Sent a photo to the CO.

09-Oct-21
Found it today with @Delpyau. Or what should have been it. At least they left the magnet.
Thanks for the multi!

09-Oct-21
The cache has been muggled. The "other part" has been left behind.

08-Jun-21
Enjoyed the multi, beautiful park. TFTC

14-Apr-21
OCW morty8888 today around Revesby and Milperra. Last cache of the day for us and after collecting the information we had an acceptable gz where the cache was quickly found. TFTC

14-Apr-21
A warm day for April but perfect for caching with Oldmorty. Really like the fact all the streets are named after WW1 battle fields and VC recipients and have info on the street signs. So cool. Gathered the data and then strolled to GZ where an easy find was made. TFTC!

13-Nov-20
This looked like a great little suburb and I was surprised once I got off the other road- and learnt something about the history of Milperra! After driving around a few streets and collecting the information, calculated a GZ and parked nearby for a short walk and a find! TFTC!

19-Aug-20
up and running again. Please watch for muggles

19-Aug-20
3rd time lucky!!

19-Aug-20
Hurray! Finally found it. Thanks CO for replacing. This has been a hard one. Park was empty when we went and cache was placed back in its location

16-Aug-20
relocating due to muggles

05-Aug-20
Finally found this one after 3 tries. Came past while walking the dog yesterday and noticed something a little out of place which ended up making for a quick impromptu find. TFTC.

05-Aug-20
Saw this one had been found since my DNF and decided to try again. Brought a proper GPS this time which took us to a likely spot but still not 100% confident given the clue. Tough one

20-Jul-20
Our last stop for the day. We collected the data during a pleasant walk where we saw Australasian Coots, Dusky Moorhens and were snarled at by a pair of Wood ducks as they walked along with their off spring. TFTC. Adding a FP.

Found the coordinates but sun was setting which made it hard to look around. Hopefully next time

17-May-20
Way to many muggles about DNF

03-Mar-20
I went out early this morning to grab The Swamp.
I ended up driving between the WP’s and was able to locate the info for the coords easily.
I reached the GZ at peak dog walking time and had to time my searching for when they were headed away from me.
It took a couple of minutes but i was able to get my hands on the cache without too much stress.
I ended up discovering a small tb in the cache that hadn’t been officially dropped there.
The container is in good condition and the log is dry.
Thanks.

Find #: 2,279
Companions: None
Muggles: A few
Weather: Cool summer morning
Cache condition: Good

After running the Panania ParkRun I decided to find a few caches on the way home. I parked at WP1 and retrieved the necessary details there before walking to WP2 and retrieving _those_ details. I calculated some feasible co-ordinates for GZ and headed off. Once there I searched but soon realised it was not quite right, and discovered a small error of about 10m in my calculations. The object there was more likely, but it took me a while to make the find, with one muggle walking around the lake 3 times while I searched until I eventually got CIH! TNLNSL TFTC

09-Jan-20
I came by after work today and quickly worked out the numbers before heading to gz. There were lots of muggles out today but I managed to sneak it out and then back in tftc

22-Dec-19
Decided to go for this one on this cooler day, which was another empty day on my caching calendar. Although we have ridden bikes nearby here we have never been here until now and if it wasn’t for Geocaching I probably still wouldn’t have been here! We parked a bit of WP1 (being the responsible driver, I wasn’t paying attention) before walking back, grabbing the required info and then walking over to WP2 (past some cool Christmas decorations). We then strolled to the final WP, spending way too much time looking in the wrong area (I did find 3 golf balls, which I gave to geoboyfriend and he later played bocce with after we had found and were walking back to the car). Eventually one area just stuck out to us and although we had both already looked there, geoboyfriend went back for another look and found the eel hidden cache! Thanks for bringing us here.

06-Nov-19
Thanks for replacing the cache. Easily found today. Smile TFTC X-Pair

15-Sep-19
Got a message from the CO indicating it will be replaced soon...it had gone missing. Thanks!

12-Sep-19
Hmm I’ve checked my coords but still might have it wrong. I got to a likely looking tree and cleared away lots of fallen litter, but no luck! Will triple check my coords and keep trying soon.

01-Jun-19
X-pair I found your cache The Swamp on 1/6/19, 10:35 am. This is my find 2368 and find # 2 today. Did the calculations and eventually got some decent coordinates, made a couple of mistakes. Once at gz wasn’t long before the cache was revealed. Thanks for the cache! TNSLLN

10-Feb-19
First multi we have done, liked the clues, took a while to find as it's well hidden just off the area that it should be! Thanks

16-Sep-18
Good job

21-Mar-18
An interesting use of military history in the naming of the streets around here. We collected the info easily enough and headed to GZ. Of course I made one small error and initially we were looking in the wrong place. Upon checking the sums again we looked about 15m away and had CIH from the first place we looked.

A nice little "swamp" with plenty of bird life enjoying the scenery. TFTC

20-Mar-18
Out this afternoon with Brewmaker finding some caches around Milperra and Moorebank. This was out first on the list.
Parked the car at WP1 and collected the required information. Then drove to WP2 for the remainder of the info and did the required calculations. Came up with a likely spot of gz so back around we drove (yes, we were lazy). Read the hint and had a good look around but couldn't find the cache anywhere. I then noticed a place nearby that was a much better match for the hint. Walked straight over and found the cache instantly hiding there. Seems we had got one number wrong with the sums. Doh!
Signed the log and then replaced it all as found. Then it was back in the car and onto the next cache. TFTC Big Grin

Nice quick multi in the morning darkness. Luckily placed my hand on the cache first attempt
Thanks for the cache

24-Dec-17
All fixed, moved a short distance from the original and now a film container.
hopefully the muggles won't get to it now.
Go find it before 2018.

03-Dec-17
Temporarily disabled due to what I believe to be "muggle" tampering.

01-Dec-17
Cache needs to be replaced- CO is aware. Thanks

#4404- Today was my birthday and as is customary, I do something special each year. So this year I came down from the mountains to learn to fly a helicopter at Bankstown airport.
Just over 12 months ago I was here looking for this cache, but I had missed one piece of wording and did the calculations wrongly. After I got home I saw the problem and corrected the maths. I still had the information on my phone for when I got back here, but then I was confused about which set of co-ords were right and which were wrong.
I arrived with the family and look a look around, but had no luck, so I called the CO. As I continued to look I found the cache attachments, but no cache.
The CO was wonderfully helpful, knowing that it may be another 12 months before I would get back again. He confirmed I was in the right spot, and has kindly allowed me to log the cache, which has clearly disappeared.
He has said he will replace it, though move it a bit because of the local kids. When I get down again, I will get my name in the new log book.
Many thanks for this well thought out cache. A historical cache with a lovely "swamp" spot as the final.
A favourite point from me.
So a copter lesson and a cache- both made for a lovely birthday. Thanks

10-Oct-17
A lovely area with military history.

I collected info from the signposts and sat down to do the maths.

No muggles around today but plenty of water birds.

A quick find as cache was out in the open. Signed and returned as per description in the hint

Don't let the name put you off this cache. A swamp it is not!
Found this cache while out with the family for a Sunday morning outing. The kids had fun feeding the birds including the baby swans and playing on the equipment. I had gathered the required info and completed the calculations earlier in the week so the cache itself was a quick find today.
Cache is in great condition. Signed the log which was dry.
Thanks for the cache X-pair and for introducing us to this great location.

Nice simple multi for Mary Hyde points. Unfortunately this has been muggled. We found it open and sitting in a bush with some rather (ahem) fancy "caching names" added. We have replaced as the clue indicates. Log and container are done despite the interference... Just keep an eye on it as obviously someone has accidentally found this. TFTC!

12-Jun-17
This cache has been muggled or washed away, it will be replaced shortly.
x-pair.

12-Jun-17
The last one may have gone down a rabbit hole under the rock.
The new one is a screw top jar tied to a stake in the hole in the rock.
Be careful to tie it properly if you undo it.

09-Jun-17
OCW Delloro. Luckily the predicted showers did not arrive so a few caches could be done today.

We enjoyed the walk around the area and collected the details and worked out where GZ should be.
It was an obvious spot but it appears the geocache may be missing (A spoiler photo had us at the right spot).

Cache check is required.

Addendum: Thanks X-pair for allowing our logs. It is a great multi-cache and nice to see it will be soon rectified.

09-Jun-17
Pretty damn sure we had the correct solution, and our coords seemed dead on - we even found what looked to be a hole that had had something in it, but no cache...

Edit: At the owner's suggestion I am logging this one as a conceded find. Thanks for the cache!

A nice and enjoyable little multi. A lot quicker without having the kids with me!

I had some time to fill in while I waited at the the hospital for my brother aftera day op. I found the waypoints easily and loved the concept.I have not seen signs like this in other suburbs and thought it was a great bit of history. Then I calculated the GZ and headed off to the likely area. My search had me either side of the centre feature, with the GPS jumping from one side to the other. I found a likely spot to the left, complete with a well trodden spot. But unfortunately I had no luck. Pity, as on such a beautiful day and gorgeous spot, I would have given it a favourite.
I may have well m
issed it, but did give it a pretty good look. I hope it is still there. On arriving home I realised I had missed part of the southing calculation, so it was further around than I thought.
Probably won't get back here for some time as I am from the mountains, but I do look forward to getting it the next time I can try.
Thanks

Rabbit fence has been removed. Some of the plants have grown and may make the big rock harder to see.

Temporarily disabling this cache as the local council is about to commence a rabbit control program and could end up burying the cache.
Should be back in action in 2 weeks.

Got to the coordinates, lots of hoodlums about on their scooters and bikes. They were watching us and they must have watched the person who got the cache this morning. Once we figured where the final spot was they were waiting there to see if we got it. The cache has been muggled and a few swaps were lying on the floor. As we left they all laughed and snickered at us as they knew we were looking for the cache. Please check to make sure it where it should be.

19/07/15. 4:44 PM. Cache #2701. Streak day #392.
4th of 4 finds today.
I headed across to this one after finding "Mary MacKillop - Milperra", parking firstly at WP1. A quick calculation from the two VCs and now I had GZ almost all worked out - just needed one digit. I drove around to WP2 and without even getting out of the car this time, I updated the digit on GZ. I continued along this street, then pulled over and walked the rest of the way to GZ.

A few people strolling around in the late afternoon, but I had enough of a gap at GZ to get in and search in peace, and made an easy find. I signed the log, took the TB to move along and replaced it. I wanted one more find for the day, so I headed up towards "In A Spin" which was in the direction of home. You've probably already worked out that I DNF'd that one, leaving today's total as 4. TFTC.

#240 - Garmin eTrex 30 and Looking 4 Cache iPad App

This was the first of two finds for today. I had collected the information and calculated GZ for this cache back in December last year after a meeting at UWS Bankstown but had never had an opportunity to collect this cache. Finally today I had some time and made the trip out. GZ was easy to find and full of birdlife and the gentle hum of a remote control boat but when it came to looking around the rocks, it was a little trickier. I walked around to the water's edge and had a look but considered the terrain and moved back to the grass. I considered the hint again and reached to feel the cache. I tried to pull it out but the rocks scratched the glass on my watch and the gap wasn't big enough. I felt very small when I realised another, much easier way to extract the cache. SLTNLN. TFTC.

I think I have the co-ords right, but no smiley face for me.
Lots of rabbits about, even in the daytime.
Got quizzed by Mr Toolijooa muggle worker and I ended up telling him a bit of history about the park.
Don't come this way very often, must try again sometime.

Third times the charm.
I'm a bit annoyed actually. I came by after work to find this one, but for some reason my field calculations were wrong, and different each time. With a moment free at work I had another go which led to a spot 20m from my last look.
This is heat is getting to me.
