Due to unforeseen circumstances Mr Smokey Bear will no longer be a part of Team Smokey Bear and will continue his adventures as "SmokeyBearOG".
So I'm relogging all previous finds under my new account.

Came in while checking on my own missing cache. I can confirm this one is definitely missing too. No flood waters but no sign of the cache under the bridge. May have been washed away.
TFTC, I’d hate to have to Stash a bike around here while you need to attend to business, while out of view!
It was a quick find but no so easy on the knees!

that was really cool, not where we initially thought it would be at all but he hint definitely helped.
Well that pushed up my blood pressure waiting on the bridge while Mr was attending to the business of the day- hopefully no bites need attending to
Was pretty much exactly where I expected! Didn't mean it was easy to get to though! Handed off the geobaby to my teammate and went for a search and sure enough found it nice and quickly and managed to get out before any of the guardians started to make their way to me.
dry hot australian summer:
with the mercury rising, the sun out and the clouds disappearing, it was time for an amalgam of typical aussie summertime things
prowling around the cricket oval trying to steal a car spot, dodging prams and toddlers
sitting in gum-tree shade watching overheating men in whites on a scorching oval
catching a ride on a miniature steam train driven by a dour old man in overalls
sauce dripping off lunch from the lions club marquee
a stroll through eucalypts by a wide brown river, trying to spot snakes before they spot you
and
the traditional dessert
clambering around in godforsaken places looking for tupperware
just livin' our hot cache summer

I knew exactly what was required here, so I clambered down and did the business. Great spot for a cache. I did not see any spiders but I am sure they are there.
I saw all DNF’s on this one, and had to go and have a look. Saw immediately what I have to do, after I clambered down the bank amidst all the muggles walking overhead. I used my phone camera to locate the prize and closed my eyes and made the grab…
Pretty happy with my bravery I must say

Out for a walk along this trail after gathering some FTFs earlier this morning. The sun is shining, we have donuts right across our COVID board and caches everywhere to find.
This was my turn around point. I searched the usual spots and then looked in some more creative locations. Bingo! Nicely hidden.
Thanks baluke for the cache.

Cache no. - where are we up to? hmmm... no. 6, I believe. I love that aspect of geocaching that requires you sometimes to do seemingly (from the point of view of any passing muggle) random and just very slightly concerning things. Luckily my timing worked out and there were no muggles to observe my randomness here.
A quick and just slightly tentative search was had, with luck and instinct playing their part. I managed to emerge into the light (as it were) at the right time and again managed to raise no muggly curiousity. TFTC

Trail was very busy on a sunny Sunday afternoon. Didn't feel like climbing around . Needs to be checked at a quieter time.
As this cache is within our 5km zone we came this way on our daily exercise. We’ve looked for this one on a previous visit but didn’t have gloves with us to protect against the spiders so didn’t look too hard. This time we were fully equipped and found it easily. Thanks.
If I wasn't prepared to act like a weirdo I would've given up caching long ago. Here today I clambered around where normal people wouldn't, and made a find where it wasn't too webby. Thanks baluke
A family claim! Actually found by Flukey71. Many muggles rolling on by, so stealth required. Not too many 8 legged friends today. TFTC
Hmm , I think I know where this cache might be , but there are too many muggles wandring past . Will have to try again .
Oh my! So many arachnids, black hairy ones that really didn't appreciate being disturbed. I was almost going to have to DNF this one as I really didn't want to put my hand into the firing line. Luckily I came up with a brilliant idea inspired by a previous finder and in moments I had the log in hand and signed. Picked up the TB. Thanks for the adventure Team Yarra.
Didn't see any spiders, but I was glad I kept my bicycle helmet on! Nice location for touchy-feely explorations, but nowhere to sit while writing the log. Anyway, soon back on the bike for the next one.
Judging by the logs below, a few people find this one on their second try. So, I guess we'll be back! The kids grew too impatient and the clue stumped us!
Awesome daughter braved it
We are so enjoying the walk and top weather to go with it!

Nice a cosy hide, the light on my phone came in quite handy looking for shadows. Tftc
Found with ICW. Had lots of fun getting to this one and the arachnids were very polite. Tftc.
Nice. Had me fooled at first.. thought i was going to have to do something.. questionable. We didn't have a pen so I scrached our initials and the date in with a stick. JM+AM 1-1-18. Left something sparkly.
Well this one was a bit interesting. I'm glad that I seem to be routinely wearing very grippy shoes while walking these days. Another mystery clue also retrieved here. Noice. Thanks Team Yarra!
Almost didn't get as the thought of blindly placing my hand in a questionable spot was almost too much! Great walk to Petties orchard for a refill after TFTC
Didnt find it on my first pass- read some more logs and returned for another go. Its times like this I am glad I carry gloves! Thanks for the cache
OCW Mrs A and staying just across the way in the Tourist Park. Nice day for a walk and to attempt some of this series. The occasional muggle on foot and by bike passed us but with plenty of time in between to be stealthy. On foot today and enjoying the walk and the location.
This was a bit tricky and required some gymnastics. Visited two TB's.
Last one of the series for us today. Great fun.

OCW Aries44 doing some of the series on foot. He has done most of the gabbing in his logs so I won't say much . However really enjoying the series.

Dad and boy rode along this track on a warm Saturday afternoon. Stopped near the GZ for a rest and a quick drink, letting muggles whizz by before we went exploring for the cache. Soon in hand and we continued our ride. TFTC baluke
This one eluded me for so long. Many times later and with the help of justridingalong finally the cache at hand! Thanks for the cache and the memories; -)
This one was quite challenging! I thought there was only one place it could be, so checked, but couldn't see anything. A quick read through the logs confirmed I was on the right track, but I had to feel, not see! Then it was in my hands, thanks
A pleasant Spring day to be walking along the Yarra Trail. Approaching GZ husband guessed where to look and did the scrambling and feeling around to find the cache. Signed log and replaced.

23/07/2016 12:32 Continuing my work on the series I found this on a nice walk along the Yarra. Not sure about the clue but the hide was pretty much as expected. Lucky for me I had my backup pack and boots so an easy find. TFTC baluke TNLN SL
Nice one! I got the glory on this one by being the only of our group brave enough to put my hands where no sane person would.. ahh the geoskills we learn. Another Baluke baseball series cache down.. TFTC
Yes quite tricky. Very similar to other bridges around here. A very strong magnet!
Ok. Thought so. Went back today with a bit of Repco kit to make the search less eery, and sure enough we got it. Nice.
Didn't find this one. I think given it is a "regular" size and not a mini or micro that it would and should be pretty easy to find once at GZ. The clue suggests its location pretty clearly we think and the clambering around to get to it tells me it should be where we looked, but alas, it was nowhere to be seen?
Either we haven't re-honed our finding skills since our long hiatus or, maybe we just didn't put our hands in the right place? Looking back now at earlier logs I think I can see my error. Will have to come back to this one again soon.

Came down to try and collect a few caches on the Yarra trail, today being reasonably hot
I was on the look out for a couple of those legless lizards as well.
Thanks Team Yarra FTC. These don't get any easier when you are getting on in years.

Having missed out on the previous Yarra Expeditions due to no Treddlies Jnr and I decided to go along for the ride , a great day out to meet other well known cachers and do some fun finds in an area I'm not Familiar with ,will be back for a more casual ride
Today was a busy day around the Yarra, cycling almost 20km with a great team of caching mates.
With several of us looking the caches along the way were found quite quickly, giving us more time to admire the river and its environs. The logs were generally signed as "Team Yarra Expedition 4" to save space.
Nothing questionable about this cache - we had fun doing the whole series !
Thanks, Baluke.

As part of the Yarra Expedition #4 Event, starting at Westerfolds park and finishing further upstream at Stiggants Reserve. We picked up many of the caches along the trail and to save log space, signed as Team Yarra Expidition #4. Most of the caches today were fairly quick finds due to a big group searching. Apologies in advance for he generic logs.

Out on the Yarra Expedition with a whole bunch of crazy bike riders searching the banks of the Yarra and the surrounding streets for some great caches and some history along the way. This is stage #4 of our mission to ride from one end of the Yarra to the other and the scenery is awesome and the effort into some of the caches is second to none ....
Great area here and very scenic....Took a couple of happy snaps and continued on...

Found this cache as part of the Yarra Expedition Part 4, Westerfolds to Warrandyte. A great turnout, awesome bike ride and sunny day. We loved bashing around on the mountain bikes and all the entertainment we had from the lads stirring each other all day. A massive thanks for the cache placements and making this possible!
After "The Yarra Expedition - Pt 4" event this morning, we rode from Westerfolds Park to Warrandyte State Park, picking up as many caches as we could along the way.
Some were signed "Team Yarra" but most were "The Yarra Expedition 4" or "TYE4".
A great day out in an area that I have driven through many times.
Riding a bicycle gives a whole new perspective to this wonderful city and it's waterways.
A friendly bunch of riders and many great caches.
Well found Geoff.
Admired the views all the way along the Yarra.
There is so much to our great river that most residents of this city will never take the time and effort to see. Such a shame. Their loss.
Thank you for sharing a bit of your world with us baluke.

Today I found myself riding along the beautiful Yarra river. I was taking part in the event "Yarra Expedition 4 " . With magnificent weather and a great bunch of fellow cachers, it was the perfect mix for an awesome ride. There was a nice variety of cache containers and some clever hides as well. A very enjoyable day was had by all. TFTC baluke
Today we joined The Yarra Expedition Pt4 bike ride from Westerfolds Park to Warrandyte State Park with a great bunch of cachers to grab closeby caches while enjoying the scenic views along this diverse river and not to mention having heaps of fun and laughs as well.
**Thanks for the series baluke**.

This cache was found during the Yarra Expedition #4 organised by Jacko83. It was a great day, and we had a large number of attendees who all enjoyed it immensely. For most caches there will only be one entry in the log book, Yarra Exped#4 or similar as there were too many of us to all sign.
This time it was me who battled the arachnids and won. A good hide unlikely to be muggled.
**Thanks for placing this cache baluke**

Hmm, feel a little silly with this one. Had a pretty thorough look but came up empty handed. Might have to come back another time.
Hmmmm, I can see why some folks may not completely like this one but I think variety is the spice of life and without a bit of challenge, well, life would be boring so I'm going to say, well done with this one. It did take us a bit of time to find but once looking from the right angle the hiding spot is easy enough to see. So, in my opinion, a good cache, good too see some different hides with different challenges to retrieve them. This gets a thumbs up.
Had a good look in the spider holes but couldn't see anything that looks like a cache...I'm more a fan of the magnetic type.
Out for a short walk with my husband in an attempt for me to get fitter. We found 3 caches today and this was the second one. I needed to read the hint and previous logs, then I closed my eyes and the cache appeared. Not a favourite from me.
Arrived at this cache after walking from the car park downstream. My GPS had me at one end of the bridge and I began my search. I soon realized where this cache was hidden. I have to confess this is my least favorite type of cache - putting hands into dark and unseen places... However mustered the courage, avoided slipping into the murky water and thankfully found the cache quickly. Everything is in good condition so signed and replaced as found.

I was cycling back from Eltham so I decided to grab a few caches. I have been chipping away at this series over the past couple of weeks so I thought that I would make some more progress. For some reason this took me way longer than it should have. TNLN. TFTC.
This was a very tricky cache
We had to read some logs and think about the clue before finding it

Such a great winter morning for caching along the beautiful green wedge walking trails. Out today with JeckleberryAndTedd and TreasureSeeker75.
Previous logs indicated that gloves would be handy, but none of us had that particular tool. A large pair of tweezers could have sufficed
In the end, bare hands were used, and there were no dramas at all, and no creepy-crawlies.
A great spot, in a great series. TFTC

Great agility by tinker traveller, after our initial search, came up trumps. Loved this spot and have now purchased tools for these sort of caches (although tinker traveller was brave enough without gloves or tongs). Dropped tb here.
Enjoying the winter sunshine with TinkerTraveller and Treasureseeker75. TinkerTraveller the more adventurous whilst I nearly slipped down into the murky water below. Much fun. Thanks for the cache.
