Thanks Squash 2! This one was found by a muggle friend called PT!

This one took us wayyyyyy longer than it should have. GPS was about 6m out, but we looked in the obvious structure and after almost giving up 3 times geohubbys fingers found the prize. All signed, cobwebs removed, and replaced where found. Nice to put a smile on this one. TFTC

Staying in Geraldton for the week, I attempted to search for this cache a couple of days ago, but it had rained and GZ was a puddle. I returned today and found the well-hidden cache without getting wet. Very good camo here, the cache blends in well.

Out for the day with Wollaston taking advantage of the open border. Cache found and bravely retrieved, what a beautiful station building.

On the hunting trail again with SeasonedBird on a quick visit to WA. I’ll leave the more interesting & detailed log to Mrs Geo (aka: SeasonedBird, Salty Chook, the Old Boiler, Old Chook, Dirty Bird, Angry Bird & occasionally even Love Bird) because she writes so much more eloquently than I and usually has much more time to do so while I’m driving. It’s a great day for caching. TFTC Squash2

Find 27 of 29 with fourteen DNFs on a day-long 30km bike ride around Geraldton with not a cloud in the sky. Many more DNFs than we would usually register, this is a tricky town! Thanks to all the COs for placing and maintaining these caches.

An unloved cache. Great to find it and bring it back to life for future finders. Took some contortions but we got there.

Had planned on doing this one on our bike ride yesterday but a group of young muggles were hanging around on the platform so we gave it a miss and returned today.
Had to be patient today retrieving and returning this one as there were quite a few muggles coming and going. But we got it in the end.
Thanks.

Hoping for 2 LGA’s that we’re missed on the last trip this way and to clean up the map.

It's cool to see the old station with the vast free area in front of it, so you get a full look at it. It likely won't be the same once the "station square" will be built with houses and offices. Found the cache quickly, TFTC!

Finally in town to check on the missing cache but surprisingly the original is still in it's correct place. However I could not find the replacement nano as referred to in the previous log but I only did a quick search. So just to confirm, what you are looking for is a magnetic Eclipse tin containing the log and pencil.
Good Luck. Smile

22-Nov-16
Hope the CO doesn't mind but I confirmed with a previous finder where the cache should be and it is definitely missing so I have replaced it with a black magnetic micro container so we could log our find. TFTC

Our last day of caching in Geraldton with iluvtrekking and after a morning visit to Ellendale Pool Mrs iluvtrekking and I dropped off our geo-hubbys along the foreshore cycle trail so that they could grab some finds while enjoying the scenery. We headed off together grabbing finds in the surrounding suburbs. Log sheet full and damp so replaced. Thanks Squash2

Hi there Squash2.

We found your cache **"Where's the Train?"** at 11:09:00 AM today. This cache makes our find count 14323.

Our 6th day in Geraldton, and there are still a few unexplored areas to look into. The town itself is to be congratulated on all the interesting things visitors can see and do - - and then there's Geocaching as well. SmileSmile

We thoroughly enjoyed our tour around the area today. Without geocaching as our guide we would never have found so many wonderful caches in interesting places.

**Coordinate Accuracy:** We found this cache around two metres from where the GPS said we should be looking. Wink
**Cache Condition:** The container and log book are in good shape, but **the listed trackable "Cindy's Unicorn" is not in the cache,** could Squash2 (or the Trackable owner) please "Mark the Item as Missing" so it can be removed from the cache inventory. This option is under Actions on the trackable's web page). Sad

**Took:** Nothing.
**Left:** Nothing.

Thanks for the hunt today,

Regards

Ian & Penny.

We are visiting from California! We're here today because it's one of the stops our cruise ship is making. We're on a 32 day Australia and Indonesia cruise. This is day 16 of the trip! Thanks for providing the fun cache!! My little four-year-old grandson is the one who actually made the grab on it! I dropped a travel bug in it! It's a duplicate travel bug that I found in California and am happy to relocate to Australia. Please help move it along!

Found by Mary & David at 1125. A lovely old station. A few muggles here and there, but an opportunity soon came, and a quick find followed. Our thanks to Squash2.

Funny !! Razz
I gotta admit I remember there being a railway station here Smile
And looking in through the doors, it looked like quite a few passengers were assembling Smile
So I figured there must be a train due !! Razz

Meanwhile outside, I enjoyed a quick cache find, while employing a bit of stealth to avoid passing muggles Big Grin

Now I read on the cache notes that the line stopped working back in the 50's [:o]
So what were all those muggles doing, queuing up to buy tickets inside the station ??

More research has revealed the truth Red Face
Not a working train station at all !!
But a far busier place Big Grin
Given how they drive in these parts,
I am not surprised at all Wink

TFTC.

After a fairly emotional Virtual at The HMAS Sydney Memorial, we parked the GeoYota near the waterfront and had a nice walk to grab some more.

Joint find here, she spotted it and I made the retrieval. As we walked towards GZ we both discussed the likely hiding spot and were rewarded as being pretty accurate.

Thanks for this one Squash2.

TFTC! This cache was found on my two and a bit day GeoTrip to Geraldton and surrounds to attend the International Geocaching Day event in Greenough.

The weekend started with a nighttime drive from Perth to Geraldton getting in at 1140pm after finding a couple of caches along the way in the dark. I rose on my first day in town as grabbed supplies before some CBD caching and then some more hides in Greenough before the event. I had a nice little run after the event following the guys chasing a few of the FTFs before getting back to my planned routes to help cleanup a lot of the newly published caches since my last visit in 2013. Had a reasonable day, which went Pretty pear shaped come mid afternoon, with a large number of DNFs in the northern Geraldton suburbs. I returned to my accomodation to freshen up and watch a bit of footy before heading out again on a night time run around the CBD. Big Mistake. had one of those blind nights, where the easy finds were impossible and I resorted to PAF to help guide me on some of the simplest hides!!

I was back on the saddle the next day grabbing a bunch of caches in southern Geraldton before attending the CITO event. Grabbed a few bits of rubbish and got talking to the local COs, where were most amused by my DNFs LOL. They were gracious enough to provide a large number of hints which Ive stored in the memory bank for next year!

Thanks to all of the locals for your hospitality this weekend and I'm looking forward to attending next year! Thanks

This cache was found tonight after getting a bite to eat and then heading up to the HMAS Sydney Memorial, we decided to grab a cache before heading to bed and this was the one closest to us passing by. Needless to say we had the area to ourselves to search and the youngest geo child soon came up with the goods, thanks for the cache Squash2.

Day fifty four of the WA road trip with BettyBoo3747.
A day to play tourist in Geraldton. We started with the tour of the HMAS Sydney Memorial, then caught the Shipwrecks tour at the Museum. Fish & Chips by the shore, and a few caches to round off the day.
We found some tracks, but we couldn't ask at the booking office when the next train was coming as it was closed! Probably just as well as we were standing in the middle of the tracks!
Good to see the old station still being used and not dismantled.
Thanks, Robmc.

17-May-15
# 8192. The only full day here in Geraldton for Robmc and me. Fortunately it was a much sunnier and warmer day than yesterday's welcome. We did the tour of the HMAS Sydney Memorial before going down the hill to the Museum for the Shipwreck Tour. After lunch by the shore it was off to do some caching.

Called past here just before 5.00pm and all was deserted so we had the cache in hand quickly. Was prepared to pop in a new log sheet but on opening, realised that had already been taken care of. Now it is definitely time to head to our accommodation for some quiet time.

Thanks Squash2
