Some lazy Monday caching after the MEGA as I decide when I'll point the car towards Christchurch, which is home. Sweeping up some solved puzzles and a couple of others that I'm driving past.
With Gap (of Fap and Gap) Were here for Geo Toroa (Dunedin Mega). Between flight cancellations and re-routing, things could only get better, right? But wait, theres more! Somewhere on our caching escapades, I dropped my wallet (Tuesday) Its still at large, so if anyone finds itOne of us usually drives, the other is the retriever. That works for us. Weve either logged caches with our separate handles, or weve used FANGS to sign the logbook. Using the latter handle is more for mental health and well being. Its tiring having to write 15 + characters on each logbook Weve joined MDF - Our BoP Teammates. Our goal is to put a few more smilies onto our geomap to the north of Dunedin. This was one of the caches we visited and found successfully. Thanks Big smoke. TFTC.
Down in Dunedin for the Mega this weekend with McJandals and NZFLOSSY. Signed the log sheet MDF Thanks for the cache.
Down in Dunedin for the Mega event. Travelling with Davidsonclan and McJandals. Really fun to be out and about with the team and catching up with other cachers friends from everywhere. Thanks to all the organisers and all the COs for some great caches. It is certainly a lovely area of New Zealand TFTC . Cool container and still there
Down here for the Dunedin Geo Toroa Event from the sunny Bay of Plenty,Tauranga and are with some of Team BoP. Great to get together with our fellow cachers. Signed Logs MDF. (McJandals,Davidson clan & NZ Flossy)I am logging using the Cachly App and using their template option which helps with my memory for logging. I genuinely thank every CO for their time and effort put into these caches. Much appreciated.
Didnt take long to find this appropriate container. The grass was reluctant to let to go! Thanks for the cache, Big smoke#5333
Kia pai to koutou Wiki o Te Reo Māori. He nui te rahi o te ngarara. He whare tawhito rawa, mauiui hoki. Hei konā
A nice quick find. Coordinates are pretty good and the container is well camoed. A Fav Poinrt from me. Thanks for placing your cache.
Time for another road trip for Ms_KR and KR, so we headed south toward Otago. We cruised through from Oamaru to Ranfurly today, but had to take a detour as the road from Dunback to Kyeburn was closed. There were more caches on the detour, so no problem! Another glorious day.
Thanks to all CO's for publishing and maintaining their caches. Cheers.

After a couple of very wet days in Dunedin, StreetWalkerNZ and I woke to a glimpse of blue sky and sun but with more rain predicted, we started early to make the most of the good weather on our drive north to Moeraki. We even had time to do a wee tiki tour around Palmerston and environs.
Yes, that house doesn't look very lived in. Cache quickly found, great container. TFTC.

Went out today with the aim of changing green boxes on the map to yellow, but unfortunately a few blue popped up too. Most of our finds were nice and simple, but a few took a bit of time.
Last one for today. There were muggles next door when we were here earlier but had the place to ourselves this time. Cache found after a bit of a search. tftc

2020 hasn't been the best year for geocaching for a number of reasons so we decided a road trip from Dunedin was in order.
Caching our way from Palmerston, through Macraes and back to Mosgiel via Middlemarch.
Find count: 2098

Well the insects have had this place to themselves for the past two and a half years so it took a bit of rammaging round in the undergrowth to find. I was delighted when I spied a little something that didn't look quite right and then I was able to extract the larger container than I was expecting. TFTC # 16,453
Thanks this took lots longer than it should have. Was of course in the first place I looked but missed it. Nearly gave up but one last look. Yes found all those I looked for on my detour today.
Today is grabbing some caches to reach my 2500 which I plan to do at the top of Palmerston Hill so with that in mind I needed to grab 12 today before facing the hill and this was one of them. Thanks for bringing us on a different road in giving us a different view of the section of the network. The Muggle friend I had is used to getting request for truck for permits on these roads and could see what they look like, so win-win. Now onto the next one.
A quick park and grab while out about heading to Cromwell for new years eve. Grabbing a few caches to get my numbers up so I can crack 2000 before the end of the year. TFTC
Heading to Middlemarch for a caching weekend and had the morning to fill in before meeting BCD at Palmerston. A quick find once looking in the right spot! TFTC
The house certainly looks a bit past it. There was a bumble bee right by the cache so the cache was living up to its name.
Another great find while slowly heading to the Christchurch Mega.
Thanks for adding to the enjoyment of this trip.
Met a friendly geocacher who was working her way to the MEGA

Lots of potential spots to put your fingers and find insects but this was a good one. tftc
Lollipopcat wanted to do this one by herself, was funny watching her jump when she discovered it. Kia ora for the cache.
Very clever! Also a busy very dusty road cough choke as we looked for this one! TFTC
21 of 63 on a days caching with ingidayna. A quick easy find. Loved the container. TFTC
We enjoyed the day caching in this area
Tftfun
So many caches done to remember all, but got a kick out of all that we found

Nice container - we were not sure how close we can drive to the house. But after finding the cache we are pretty confident - very close. TFTC
This is another one that it helped with being winter and no foliage. Neat hide! Found with debsnz
A delightful cache container that makes geocaching such fun. Thanks Big Smoke.
Great (!) cache! fewer creepy crawlies here than around some of the previous containers we found today covered in slaters... TFTC!!
Local resident / farmer stopped as we were starting the search. Explained what geocaching is all about and he seemed satisfied. He was a bit puzzled as to why a number of cars had been stopping along "his" road. Great container and series. TFTC
The local farmer and his wife suddenly appeared out of nowhere, we had to do some quick thinking and pretend to be taking photos with the GPS. Loved the container, it gets a favourite point from us. TFTC Big Smoke.
left home this morning thinking it would be a FTF as there were still no logs....not to be there were 2 logs in the book from yesturday but had not been logged on the site, frustrating as this is the second time in a week we have travelled some distance to find another failed FTF
