Still trying to source a new container for this one. It's a bit unique and original supplier has closed. We will keep looking and hope to have Blink Bill back up and running soon.
Had a good look for Blinky but he must be buried beneath all the fallen branches. Still looking for a new Blinky.
Hi there Herbz,
Your cache "HNT-Blinky Bill" was last found on 22/10/2014, 293 days ago, and has had 8 DNF's since that time..
Is there any chance you could do a maintenance run to confirm if it is still there - - and replace it if it isn't.
If that's not possible then please archive the cache so that the spot can be freed up for someone else to use.
Regards
Ian & Penny

After talking to Geoson we decided to see if we could find this one on our way back to the car. With all the DNFs we were going to give it a miss. However, even with a good hint from Geoson we could not find what we needed to. Thanks so much for putting this trail out. It is a lovely area and loved seeing so many Kangaroos there.
All the way from the UK. Heading back out of the park though I'd go for one more cache. No luck for me either.
Had a 20 minute plus look for blinky but looks like he may have fallen to his death under the fallen trees as our gz was in centre and previous loggers have noted him being up in a tree. Disappointed we couldn't find as this cache had plenty of favorite points!
Had to fight the mozzies and spider webs to get at this one. Loved the container. TFTC. SL
Day two of my Gold Coast caching weekend with Bristracker. We came out to this park as I discovered I was approaching 1600 caches and wanted to get the letterbox cache for the occasion. Along with spotting lots of kangaroos along the way we also picked up some caches. Very very cool cache, nice to find it and log the find. TFTC
After going in circles and circles and circles, looked at pic and were 10mt from gz even tho GPS said 30mt. TFTC
We crossed through some bush to get to gz , then it was a matter of looking looking looking, eventually I spotted him through some leaves and vines, he was very comfortable and sitting waiting patiently. Another cute little fella. Tftc
Found with goldielover right on dark tonight. With the gates closing very soon we made a very quick dash for this one, after chasing a little box near by. We took a fairly direct route to this one and then walked out on the track.
Loved the cache.
Thanks Herbz for the great cache.

Found with stairman1. It was nearly dark when we came across this one. With no torches we had an iphone light to guide us. Stairman's eagle eyes spotted this little guy hiding. Signed our names then stumbled back onto the track and rushed back to the car to beat the closure of the gates. Thanks Herbz.
This one will be my final cache for the day, having now completed the HNT and also grabbing a few others on the way. This was a very enjoyable trail. Thank you to team Herbz for all the well thought out locations and cache containers. Found Bill enjoying a lovely sunny winter's afternoon. TFTC. SL.
Back this morning with my father in law for our second attempt. Zeroed out the GPS and started to look around. Spotted Blinky Bill within seconds this time. Strange that we missed him yesterday I guess he was just being shy.
Thanks Herbz for the cache.

Out with Bristracker who had already found this one. Love the cache container. That little bit extra makes all the difference. Thanks Herbz.
With Ms Maddy today doing the "trail". Blinky was watching us from afar and as we approach was most accommodating to let us sign his log. Cute container. TFTC
I was keen to get Nurseyjulie to do this trail with me today and a lovely day it was for walking
I took a call from OrionJ in Victoria and was jotting down the coord for granny's while we searched for Bill as the WP is MIA. Jools spotted the little dude looking at us
So on we walked, clocking up a respectable 13 kliks today in this truly awesome bushland area
TFTC Herbz!

Aww I love him I was hoping to see a koala on our walk today and there's Blinky TFTC
My last day on the Gold Coast so time to go and find some more caches in the area before heading off on my homeward journey. I don't usually like template / cut / paste logs but will make exceptions for 'power' trails. I was looking forward to getting out and about on the 'HNT' trail today. This was a very cunning and clever cache that took me a while to spot. Loved it once I found it. TFTC, Biggles.
Only found it by chance, the mossies nearly ate me alive, not a good idea to come here without repellent. Loved the camouflage, TFTC

Third find in this series. We had just left the main trial when we came across a green tree snake. Blinky remained elusive but after a thorough search Mrs THR spotted him hanging out. TFTC and trail Herbz
Our final find for the day. Very cute. Goodlookerz spotted this one. The only koala we spotted today.
Thanks Herbz for a great day out.
Thanks Herbz for a great day out.
Out with Aussiemates. Kind of knew what we were looking for after the rest of the Nature Trail today. This has been a great series. Thanks so much Herbz for a great day.
Out for a wander with Aussie Liahona I collected all 9 caches in the HNT series, plus the 2 extras on the way, and added Shores 3 and 4, so it became 13 finds on a walk of 10kms over 3 hours today [^]
Number 13 and the last one on our walk today. I had some trouble spotting Blinky, but AL gave out some good hints, and he eventually showed his face. TFTC, Herbz.

Captain Terror, Fangsoki, Radnoski and I were out caching together on this not so fine saturday. Luckily for us Radnoski had some insect repellant in the car because the mosquitos around here were horrible! We headed down along the murky creek and played spot the crap in the creek as we got towards GZ.
When we arrived at GZ I started looking around for the container and after looking in the same direction as the two previous finders I had a laugh and asked Fangsoki if he wanted to come over and search in the right area. We were signing the log when Radnoski mentioned there was a snake. Fang and i froze, not exactly sure where he was talking about until we spotted it a metre or so away. Luckily it was just a little tree snake. Radnoski got quite a decent photo of said snake. Thanks for the cache Herbz and for the little heart attack I had.

Net88, Captain Terror, and I were joined by Radnoski who came for a bit of a hike. It's about time, one did the Herbz Nature Trail.
Why, you may ask gentle stalker, did I start at HNT9 and not HNT1? Well that because I was convinced I had done HNT1. No one told me it was actually HNT1 - and not a previous cache Team Herbz had put there years ago. Duh
So this was my first for the day on the trail. We neared GZ. Everyone, apparently, was less blind than me. I really should not to learn to look in places where one finds Sistemas.. and remember I am doing a Herbz cache
Another fantastic cache guardian. We signed the log and returned it to its home. Radnoski scared us all by announcing there was a snake in a vine a couple of feet from us and the cache guardian. Thankfully, just a harmless green tree effort - and a bit of a poser as it turns out.
Well done, Team Herbz. TFTC

Coombabah Lakelands Conservation Area - A hidden gem indeed.
I must admit we were really impressed with this area so close to Southport. If you wanted to introduce someone to geocaching then this is the perfect place. Easy walking / riding with wildlife galore. We watched one mob of around 30 roo's relaxing and feeding their joey's from only meters away - why pay to go to Lone Pine?
Topped off with an interesting array of clever but not too difficult caches. Well done Herbz!! Definitely a favourite series for us.
Only minor problem - mozzies - take plenty of repellent, you've been warned
Containers and logs all Ok.

I missed this one on the way out because I went along the road. Took the right track on the way back to get me nice and close to GZ. My GPS did not like it in here either. Very jumpy. Used the hint to help track it down. Another different hide. Very nice
Picked the wrong trail and went via the boardwalk which was nice ... When in the GZ looked for quite a while till seeing an appropriate container .
Cache #2 of 6. Took a while to get to GZ as no phone coverage we had to fire up peaceful-wolf's GPS & took the wrong bush trail. Was a good distraction anyway as we managed to get a lot of photos of local birds and some roos nearby. Did a full 360 and then we headed in the right direction on the correct trail and before long we were at GZ. Took a good 15-20mins to find blinky bill but when we did all was well with the world again. TFTC
Another day out with yoshi and topher. Blinky bill had us going in circles for a while. Eventually the GPS settled and we found it. Log was full so we added a temporary one. TFTC
Gps had us going around in circles for this one
Would not settle down even when we turned it off and back on
Searched further afield but still could not locate it today
Perhaps we were barking up the wrong trees
We shall return

Herbz living up to the form that has been through out this series, great hide and camo. Now lets get out from these mozzies...TFTC Herbz...
I jumped when I spotted bbill. His logbook is all but full.
Was hoping to get to this series by bike but will need to return on foot. Lovely spot.

We started the trail early today. A couple of days ago we did the 1st one and we decided to do the rest of the trail as well as a couple of "bonus" caches which we were meeting on the way anyway. We decided to go for this one first, although the last in the series but I am sure that is no problem. It took us a little while to find the sneaky hide after we overlooked it probably a couple of times already. TFTC Herbz.
hmmmm....just wrote we haven't seen a koala. They were well hidden but at least this one showed up.

Myself, my son, and blacknano92 trekked off along the nature trail on a gorgeous Wednesday afternoon to find as many caches as we could. This was the first cache we came across. The GPS was initially going a little nuts, but once it settled we began searching around the likely spots and, within quick time, blacknano92 had it in his hands! Clever hide. TFTC.
Found this one with BoDiddlies on an amazing afternoon this was the first of thirteen on the great track into the bush on my visit up the QUEENSLAND TFTC.
On day 3 on my Queensland caching trip it was fun doing 63 caches for the day. Some easy and some tricky hides, but a lot of fun was had in the 19 deg. weather. Lot's of walking and a bit of bike riding got the blood pumping. Thanks to all the CO's for their efforts. Fav added
Out for a huge caching holiday with J & J.au and Baja.15. Lovely weather, this one had us going round in circles a little, but with extra eyes, we were successful, thanks.
in company of other geocachers, having few eyes made this a little less difficult, still it took some time to locate, very creative. TFTC
Took a bit longer than it should have for us to find this little critter due to my GPS not settling on a steady GZ. Extended our search and soon admiring the craftsmanship once again. Another good job here. SL..TFTC
So many trees. So many possibilities. Finally, there was Old Blinky himself. TFTC
Another day out and about caching on the Gold Coast with Poynts95 and Sportacuss. Decided to tackle the HNT series and a few others while on the walk including a nice multi and letterbox cache. Lots of favourite points to give out... We saw Kangaroos, Lizards, a Snake, and picked up a few ticks as well. Had two of the kids with me, James and Jemma (7yo) they had a great day. Between 11 and 12 kms walked, as we went as far as Shores 4 cache. Thanks to all CO's for hiding and maintaining their caches, made the day a great one.

Took a little while here, GPSr had trouble in the bush, resorted to the iPhone5 which is amazingly accurate, and we eventually got it. TFTC.

Hmm, let me fill you in on the real story... After splitting to secure the nearby multi, I ended up much closer to Blinky than Kaisho53 did and told him we should meet there... I arrived and searched and searched and searched... Blinky was bwing a sneaky little bugger and watched my every move from hat turned out to be a nice open hidey hole... Grr...
I scoured the area, going over the same spots, for about 15 minutes. Then I spotted the damn koala with a grin on its face... Why You little *$@#... I retrieved it and etched our names in the log. I was just walking away from GZ when Kaisho53 arrived... All good, cache found and log signed I said... Although I did advise it took a while, we don;t always need to elaborate too much do we...
Cheers Herbz.

arriving about the same time he had just retrieved the container & log was soon signed and we continued along

Having had muggle issues at the first one of the series, we ventured along the track to visit Blinky. On the way we went past a Skippy Convention. After the recent rains, the areas off the track were rather swampy, but we picked our way carefully to the GZ. After a short search, Mrs Dannza spotted the little fellow. TFTC Herbz
First find for today but I must admit last time i saw Blinky he was a little larger. LOL loved this one
Visiting from Newcastle, staying in Kingscliff, while the ladies shopped in Harbour Town my brother from Las Vegas and I headed off to this great area, TFTC Herbz!!
This cache appeared deceptively close to the last and the end of the walk but the track led us away from the homeward run. When finally at GZ it was Mrs Grundies who spotted this cute little fellow. On the way out we spotted a kookaburra sitting on branch near the trail. Wonderful. TFTC Herbz
Third stop this morning as I had just cut through another track coming from a nearby multi and it was close. Geez theres some big Roos around these parts, most of them take off but some of the big ones stand their ground. Which one was while I searched for this cache. Looking around with one eye on him just in case, I spotted the little fella hiding. Retrieved and signed log then headed back to my treadly.

Last one of the day for us, brilliant walk and caches makes a change from hides in the UK. Thanks.
Out and about finding a couple of caches before work.
Of course I tried going in a straight line to this one and was stopped about 50m short.
Eventually I found my way to GZ...and then the fun started.
Around and around and around before I finally spotted the little blighter.
Thanks for the cache.

Out on the HNT trail this morning. This was my first find this morning and it didn't disappoint. Up to the usual Herbz standard. Looked around GZ for a while and then spotted the little fella.

I eventually found the little fella, he was hiding out in a likely spot.
When I first arrived at the area I saw a tree fallen and hoped that he was not in that tree at the time, but on a little further investigation the right place was found and the log signed.

Found this one on a quick walk with the Kiwi Caching Twins before heading back to their place to run through a few of the useful features of being a premium member. Another great herbz hide was a bit hard to sign the log though with the drizzle just starting & the constant assault from the never ending mozzie army. TFTC TNLNSL
2 of 2 Found today with Buzzybe. On holiday from NZ and staying with friends just around the corner from here. Left caching a little late today, will be back again tomorrow when we can see what we are doing TFTC
Sitting in front of the PC working on a project that seemed impossible, Ms Wig suggested to go get this one!! Oh Yeah!!! anything to get away from this thing!!
So out we went, following the GPS and arriving at GZ Ms Wig says "ok, make this quick!! there are a few mossies around" hmmmm, so I do some searching and eventally I see something!! Yay!! A quick s slap i slap g slap n slap of the log and we were out of there!!
I like these ones!! Thanks Herbz, favourite from me.

After having a short visit to the area in February I was looking forward to coming back to get the rest of the caches in the area.
I have been raving about the wildlife here since I was here last time.
Today I had some spare time and talked a non-caching friend and his two teens to join me on the walk.
We started at the car park where I wanted to show them The Sting before we headed in to look for the rest. After finding it on the ground and replacing it we headed down the path.
We arrived at the search area and hadn't prepared for the mossies. Luckily I had the Bushman's in my pack but that didn't deter them much.
After searching the area I made a PAF call in desperation and was given information which set us off on a renewed hunt.
Finally we spotted Blinky, It is a wonder he hadn't jumped on us.
Thanks Herbz. Now to see if we can get away from the mossies.

a DNF only because I had no mozzie spray on and they were trying to carry me away!!. The geowife and kids soon bailed and left me there to do the search. I only lasted a few minutes due to the frenzied attack by the mozzies!! I'll come better prepared next time.

Well I hadn't done this one when the LLJs decided to visit with their deadly treadlies for the day so we set off at the start and a nice ride it was finally we made it to the last and I was in for a chance of finding it, I had an idea of what it could be and being a regular finder of the Herbzs caching I 'think' I am finally understanding their thought processes a nice hide here and a great series TFTC
This was the only cache in the series that “PigWig2” hadn’t yet found, so with three of us looking, how hard could it be ? Ms Wig spotted it first, then Mrs Lat&Long. I came over to look and took some time to see what they’d seen . I think I might have received a lot more grief if I hadn’t been the one carrying the JetBoil. It was about time for a cuppa, so we sat down in the shade by the canal and had morning tea while congratulating ourselves on a job well done.
More pedal power to get here . We might have to come and have a longer ride around all these trails. We met a couple here who we'd seen earlier so obviously the tracks do meet up. Ms Wig found this one after just a short search. Mr LLJ had a bit of trouble even with his glasses on .
Log signed and cache returned. There are so many butterfies around today - large orange ones, large black ones and some small yellow ones. All very pretty but they never sit still long enough to photograph.

Our last find in here today. The rain started to fall while we were looking so good call on only doing half the trail today.
Blinky was the closest we got to a koala sighting today.
Looking forward to coming back and doing the rest of the trail. Thanks for bringing us to this beautiful area

[navy]Captain Terror [/navy]and I decided to head down to the GoldCoast today to clear out a bit of it since I had not really done much down here.
I cant quite remember why i was almost in tears about this one, but all that i do know is that this place is really a popular spot for mozzies... BRING THE MOZZIE SPRAY!

I think this one almost ended in tears for Egginthesky today as we initially thought about taking another path which would have led to the creek, but we didn't and everything went well. As we approached this one there was a family of kangaroos that soon headed off. A nice little walk off the main path here. Once at GZ I thought this one might be an easy find, knowing what Herbz are like. Sure enough after a little bit of turning on the spot I spied the beast and waited for Miss. Sky to find it before grabbing the fellow. We signed his logbook before replacing and heading off. Good to see I'm doing this series in order TFTC Herbz
Geo Mum and I (Geo Dad) just had to get out of the house and see what we could grab.
We had tried Shores 4 - Estuary and the weather closed in on us and threatened to drench us metres from the car.
Undetered we both agreed that we had to grab at least one in this area so the trip wasn't totally wasted.
We had a few HNT's on the smiley map but this one had been placed later and was nice and close to the road so it had to be our best shot.
The weather cleared nicely for us just as we arrived at the parking area so we made a dash for GZ.
The going was good most of the way despite being a little damp under foot until we reached the side track.
The depression between us and our prize was flowing and wide but we had come this far (not very far really) so a little extra water wasn't going to stop us.
Heading for the shallowest spot we headed across and collected some water in our shoes for our troubles.
We were fine again until just near GZ when we were directed sideways into boggy ground, again we were not going to be stopped.
We searched for our little mate for a few minutes then I spotted him high and dry.
We admired the handywork of our fellow Gold Coast Cachers, signed the log and then hightailed it back to the car before the heavens decided to open again.
We have mentioned water a lot but we have to remember that the area is not called Coombabah WETLANDS for nothing.
Note to self "Wait for dry weather before attempting the rest of the caches in this area".
Thanks Herbz for another unique cache design TFTC SL

We admired the handywork of our fellow Gold Coast Cachers, signed the log and then hightailed it back to the car before the heavens decided to open again.
We have mentioned water a lot but we have to remember that the area is not called Coombabah WETLANDS for nothing.
Note to self "Wait for dry weather before attempting the rest of the caches in this area".
Thanks Herbz for another unique cache design TFTC SL
As our GPS was zeroing in we saw a small black snake slithering along a branch of a nearby tree - therein geowife (who is usually the eyes and ears of the team) was a bit reluctant to get too close to the foliage. And even though we had the clues to go by, we had difficulty spotting this one - thanks to the snake.
There was a lot of branch damage as recent winds had brought down a lot of them in the cache zone - and as we couldn't find it straight away, we naturally thought the cache had come down also - but just as we were about to start looking in the fallen tangle of vines and branches, there he was, just looking down on us. All safe and snug as a bug in a rug.
Another one to "laugh" at. TFTC
