A short wander through abundant undergrowth revealed this creepy find. Thanks TheWanglers
Found this monster of monsters with MummyPenny today. We're not familiar with NZ spiders but there were some small black ones in there that we kept away from. Thanks TheWanglers.P's' I'm not much of a trackable mover but the stats say 322 so far.
Found this one with TTO1 and TTO2 today. TTO1 and I are touring New Zealand with TTO2 for a couple of weeks and our travels brought us by this cache. So, we just had to stop and find it. Were really enjoying our visit and have been exploring lots of cool spots. Im sure that we will still have a lot that we didnt get to see on this trip, so I look forward to coming back again some time to see some more of this beautiful country. Thanks for the fun!It looks like my dropped off number is over 4200.
When it comes to geocaching. I am more of a letterbox finder (having been a letterboxer before I took up caching) than a trackable mover. My stats say I have dropped off 140 trackables.Having done a fair bit of walking already today, I was happy to do a shorter one here in the late afternoon. My GPSr was still settling down when I spotted what I thought was a good palce for a large sized cache. It wasn't long before I was stamping and logging. TFTC, TheWanglers.
Vielen Dank fr diese Letterbox, TheWanglers!__________________________________________Today was dedicated to the virtual cache Some kind of Sign. However, while hunting for the answers to this challenging virtual cache, there were several other interesting caches that I passed by. So I took the odd detour or stop to visit these caches. Sometimes there was even another cache at the location of the waypoint of my main task! I didn't want to miss this letterbox from TheWangler's Bugmister Big Bucket. Big bucket is probably the right word here. Once I had the right clue, the cache wasn`t hard to miss! Many thanks for this letterbox, TheWanglers!
Fangsoki had found this cache previously so he waited in the car while I headed to the cache. I took the path around below the cache and then found I had to negotiate over the washout and as I climbed the far bank,I spotted the cache. Wow! I didn't expect to find a IPS cache.I signed the log and replaced everything.I then decided to take the direct route back to the car and that was no easier than the way I had come.I checked and I have dropped off 717 trackables.TFTC TheWanglers
A trip over the dittecch and I'm in the land of the big white cloud. Yep, Made it to Christchurch and onto Dunedin for a week of caching.DAY Three, (24/10) yep, its the same crew of Bluewattle, Snickersallan, Wollaston and myself touring around town. Today we are doing a series of challenge caches, some solved puzzle caches and a few multis. It's a long drive to Diamond Harbour and Deep Gully Bay before heading over to West Melton and surrounds to get some of the eclipse series. Had a few others on the list as we passed by collecting some of Christchurchs cool caches. There are a few set target caches along the way.The are some amazing areas of Christchurch and I have enjoyed driving around and seeing the fantastic sights, thank you for showing us around. All logs were signed and all caches replaced as found. Thanks for the placements.
Touring around with a lovely group of Aussie geo friends for a few days in Christchurch, picking up some solved puzzles, and selected others on our to-do list. All finds today were in great condition and a credit to the CO's who place and maintain them for the benefit of the geocaching community.Enjoyed this find and a favourite point from me.
Outnabout with Chamad, Snickersallan & Bluewattle on my first ever trip across the ditch. After a week of caching around Brisbane and at events last month with other Geo friends, I couldnt pass up the opportunity to hop on board for a NZ Mega adventure. Another great day for caching. TFTC TheWanglers
Thanks for placing and maintain for our enjoyment Found with Snickersallan, Wollaston and chamadVisiting Christchurch for a few days before heading down to attend Geotora Mega
Tiz13 and Snips and Co have meandered over the ocean to NZ (from Australia) for some pre Dunedin Mega shenanigans. We found this cache along our journeyGreat work with the cache ... one of our mantras on this trip will definitely be no poisonous stuff here.its actually a nice relief from all the things that can kill you in Australia, including those menacing drop bears. .
This was a great wander around the hills and through this suburban wonderland. I was a bit unsure of which side of the creek to be on. On my side I was thrilled to see a fox the fox seemed quite OK with my presence. On Tiz13s side was the cache. Over I jumped, phew, I made it. What a great cache! Back I jumped, phew, I made it again. Thanks TheWanglers, gotta love a Bugmister Big Bucket!
Day #2 Christchurch - The Mega New Zealand ExperienceA chance for an overseas Mega was too good to pass up. Especially with half the state seeming to be attending also. I set about some last minute planning. Flights still available Accommodation found Mode of transport securedLooks like its time to cross the ditch. Ive never visited the South Island before so it is bound to be a fun filled trip.I arrived after dark last night so today is my first chance to see the sights.Time to head to my dinner event but not before grabbing a large letterbox cache! Looks like someone else had the same idea as me today. I also qualify for the challenge.A big thanks goes to TheWanglers for taking the time to add Bugmister Big Bucket (Canterbury) to the geocaching map for us all to find and enjoy.----------------------------------------------------------Wow! The fun just never stops.Have you logged your will attend for Victoria's first ever Block Party? (Think Mega but even more special!)Join us on 22-23 March 2025 in Sunbury to celebrate 25 years of geocaching by logging your will attend at [**GCAP417**](https://coord.info/GCAP417).
I was spoilt. My friends took me to a seaside cafe at Sumner before a drive up and over the Port Hills They were fascinated and puzzled about my geocaching hobby and stopped so I could add a smile here. Loved the camouflage here. A favourite point for this Thanks TheWranglers and greetings from Oz

A bit of a stumble to GZ. A couple of pwakawaka were very friendly - they must know it's a source of bugs for them, but I had to disappoint them. But not as disappointed with all my photos as not a single one of them were in focus!Nice to find a large cache. All good here, and TFTLBC
Yeah - another letterbox with a stamp to enrich our book! So J:org and me could not risk to miss that one Thanks a lot for placing and maintaining this creative Letterbox!
We do like Letterboxes and we always take our stamps and stamp-book with us.That was obviously a good choice as we could find and log this nice cache. Thank you for this huge box.
With a rental car only for one day, my plan for Rolleston and Lincoln changed due to the weather. Instead of getting lots, I focused on high fav numbers and to get only a few good ones. I took one look down the bank from the street, I thought surely not!Thankfully I spotted path, and down I went... spotted something across creek and jumped across. Sent video back to boss who hates creepy crawlies.Worth another Fav, thanks
**Day**Doing a tour in and around Christchurch by bike. Nice and easy going on the flat terrain. Just had the webcam cache as main target and doing a lot of tradies and labs along the way. After a while the idea came to make this my day with the most different cache types found. Unfortunately I could not see an event for today but other than that I found: tradie, multi, mystery, lab, webcam, virtual, letterbox, wherigo and earth. That smashed my previous record of 6 and set the new record to 9, very nice! Thanks to all CO's for a lovely day of caching!**Cache**As described above I needed a letterbox. This one nicely qualified, although it was a bit uphill by bike. Good training and was planning to go uphill anyway to find an earth cache on Summit Road. It was quite dark by the time I got here, so had to use a flashlight to search. Luckily it was not too hard to locate this huge one! Fp for getting me to the 9 different cache types!
**#20,375**We needed one more Thursday Letterbox find to meet a Dunedin challenge, actually we needed 4 when we left home a week ago, we managed 2 in and around Palmerston North but still needed two more, easy, we will get them in the South managed one near Kaikoura and the last was going to be in Burnside, only that was a DNF! Not many Letterbox hybrids to choose from around Christchurch! Found this one with about half an hour to spare before Thursday turns into Friday!
#3,995: Bucket Smiley!I came out to this one on a mission to reach 4,000 finds by the end of 2023. Since I am a "quality over quantity" cacher, I decided to (a) bike to most of the ones I do for the rest of the year, (b) favour caches placed by caching mates and (c) try to find caches with high fav points. This one fits the bill, and was doubly so good since I came out with DieMannschaft to attempt the find!A reserve I didn't know about, but DM visits often, but never thought to look here. He walked right into the bush, and made the find. It was covered by some nice stealth. We chatted for a bit, and listened to the nearby father and son playing shoot-each-other around the place, then headed out.Picked up a TB, and dropped off two!Fav point for the hide and occasion.SL/TFTC!!
Found this cache together with 8ManAfter. Havent been looking for caches in a long time and this spontaneous trip to find some caches was great fun. Up to more again.
A lovely walk on a stunning day. A fairly easy find. I left one travel bug here and a couple of figurine animals that are too heavy for my flight home. TFTC it was lovely here
One of the largest caches I've found so far! a lot of creepy crawlies in there TFTC
Quick scramble and find. Cool cache, and my last for this month’s souvenir… plus contributing to GCA2R3H. Thanks TheWanglers
Nice cache! When we got to the place on the track adjacent to the place the gps was pointing to we saw that we had to cross the stream. The track was one too () ! We opened the cache and signed the log. TFTC

By the way, we’ve dropped off 3 TB’s in our time caching since 31-May-2023 (2 months, 12 days.)

Cache 1443 Heading to Christchurch for a geocaching holiday this week where I’m targeting hidden days/months and a few D/T and to sign challenge caches. And as many virtuals as possible. This was a just because I was going past cache, quick stop in to find a well protected cache out in the open but nicely camouflaged at the same time, I collected the 1 TB to move on. Cache is in excellent condition bone dry on the inside T4TLB
As to what would have been the challenge portion I’m only up to 31 bugs dropped off (I do have another 3 in my possession that will be dropped off soon) and 2 were “dipped/visited” this cache

Bit of a perfect day to attack some caches on the hill (or one of them at least.
Very cool .. including the surprise... Cheers!

Yay! TFTC! My first South Island find! Came all the way from Vancouver BC to find your epic cache! Loved it! Left behind a trackable who has now completed its mission to make it to Christchurch!
So good to find this large cache in a part of Chch I had not been to before.
The day after the ‘Insane 200 Day’ and it is a slightly slower day - more about finding caches we are targeting and attending two events. Caching with TwigNZ and Itchyfeet2020. Logs signed TINT.
Kia ora rawa atu for the cache TheWanglers.

I've been in the Garden City with Itchyfeet2020 and NZ_B for the weekend, and what a weekend it has been! Cumulatively we had targeted so many personal challenges, individual caches we wanted to get, 'things' we wanted to do etc, that teaming up with these two caching troopers has been one of the best things I've done in ages. We've achieved so much in our short time here that my mind (and body) is still reeling. I'm sure the enormity will still be sinking in for many days to come.
After our mammoth efforts yesterday of finding 236 caches in 1 day (16 hours to be precise) we had decided that today would be a far more restful day, with only challenging ourselves to finding 12 Cache Types in a day. Little did we know at this stage what kind of day we would end up having lol.
In my (almost) 6 years of caching I have still only managed to find a relatively small number of Letterbox Hybrid caches, and the same is true for caches that are size 'Large', so to find a cache that is a double whammy (so to speak) was a bit of a no-brainer when I was asked if we should go and find it.
I remember coming up this way to find a TMGT cache a few years ago, and so it was great to remind myself of what the views are like from up here. The find itself was relatively straightforward, and the cache does not disappoint.
All our signing of logbooks this weekend has been as T.I.N.T (for Team Itchyfeet2020, NZ_B, and TwigNZ) regardless of how many of the 3 of us are claiming any particular cache (as some of us may have found it previously).
Thank you for setting this cache up. Definitely gets a FP from me
For the record (photo added) I have currently dropped off 240 TBs

NZ_B, TwigNZ and I have come to Christchurch to complete a number of shared and individual challenges. Today - day 3 is types and individual caches needed for a whole range of reasons. This cache was on the list as we needed a 'B' for one of the spelling challenges. However, we found a great fun cache indeed, a lovely spot and a fantastic size, to suit all trackables. For the record, I have only dropped off 10 TBs, I was surprised it was that low. Will have to renew efforts.

Finally!
I came here earlier this week during what felt like (in this terrain) torrential rain and failed to find it, due to the fact that I didn't want to cross the rushing stream.
Today the rushing stream was barely a muddy trickle, the path was no longer a giant downhill puddle and birds were singing above- much more pleasant!!!
A nice outing on Christmas Eve.
A quick find once we made it into the area.
I placed another creepy crawly friend with the other swag, and left a Xmas painted rock at the top of the path, just inside the gate for a small muggle to hopefully find and enjoy.
TFTC- it certainly is a big bucket!!!

Greetings from QLD, Australia! We are in NZ for some skiing next week but are spending a few days in and around Christchurch. There’s a crazy challenge back home to collect multiple caches types in at least 2 countries, so on our travels today we have detoured here to collect a letterbox.
While the rest of the Davinells waited in the car, I headed down the path and into the bush. I overlooked the obvious, believing it to be rubbish . After exhausting all other options and coming up empty I came back and after kicking it, discovered the cache! Well that took far too long...can I blame jet lag?!
We have discovered 221 TB but only dropped off 49. Tftc TheWanglers

Wind? Rain? No worries...mostly . Was a bit slippery and wet and then pen issues but we found it without too much issue. Looks like a lesser known pathway but no chance of muggles finding it...theres multi layers and a guardian to conquer!
Thanks for the little side mission

Found after a short search, great camo but the cache guardian was a bit scary! No TB s to swap today but enjoyed the large container TFTC
Love it. With the recent announcement about changes to freedom camping rules quite apt.
I am a geocacher and letterboxer so signed/stamped both. Sadly ink a bit dry but I brought my own. I have dropped off 152 trackables, only have one with me but just found this morning. Interestingly the letterboxing equivalent is called a Hitchhiker which is a stamp that travels. I found my first two in a box in Dunedin last month. Dropped off between there and here. So any letterboxers who want to see one you may be able to guess where.
Gets a fave from me no problem.

What a lovely wee private area for a walk. Kids really enjoyed this search & find. Tftc
I saw this on the Montanas screen and was interested in the difficulty rating. Thought I'd come for a looksee....I quickly found the cache once I worked out where it might be. Nicely camo'd, giving a favourite point because it's great to find a ell hidden and loarge cache in this interesting little park area.
Sadly, I've only found about 40 trackables! That's a bit slack, thought I'd be a lot higher than that... I'll aim to move more. I know I found more and had taken photos of about 10 trackables.. but then that phone died.
Thanks for placing this!
TFTC TheWanglers, the cache was found in good order Signed, sealed and returned to GZ. 6 find(s) of 6 today, making this find #2756

Day #7 of my Geotour.
A short day from Akaroa to Christchurch, although there were plenty of side trips.
All my Geotour must finds have been found. Now for some AdLabs, Virtuals and Large ones.
I found the Virtual nearby and then headed up the hill to find the nearby AdLab series. Coming back down the hill I nearly missed this cache which was on my "must do" list. Glad I didn't.
Not just a 10l pail but a well camoflagued one. Loved the hint

Down from Northland for a one week trip to Christchurch to pick up some solved puzzles, challenges, unusual cache types, Jasmer grid fillers, as well as a few others in passing.
I am always a sucker for Letterbox caches, especially when they may be TB hotels and a bonus that this was also a large cache size, which are a bit uncommon. Considering the size of it, I was surprised that it took a couple of minutes before I located the prize.
Only had 2 trackables with me, but I had left those in the rental cache mobile, so none to drop off today, but I have dropped off 219 so far in my 4 years caching. Also just noticed that this one is exactly 888.8 kms from my home location, which ties in with my caching name quite well...
Picked up one TB to take back to the North Island. FP from me TFTC

Dropped by our local "hotel" to swap a TB that we retrieved yesterday from the Groynes O-Cache, where it had been getting lonely for the past year.
Big container so nice and rare (for us)! Found with our friends Foufoufou left a travel BUCK TFTC
I'm visiting from Nelson for a few days, and staying nearby. Had a pleasant walk through Victoria Park, then dropped down through this well hidden reserve.
I would definitely recommend leaving the path once below the cache, it is a much easier approach than dropping in from above it.
Great hide, thanks.

Its a long weekend in Christchurch, with The Seagnoid, Zara and Toby, and Star Gazing on the radar. Unfortunately clouds put paid to seeing stars but great event meeting up with the locals. Enjoyed visiting Halswell Quarry, Lincoln, Port Hills and running around after the Smurf family. Cool, fine days and NO rain made for an awesome weekend. Will be back again soon.

Bugmister? Perhaps you mean Bugmeister? Interesting idea. I had a look at my own trackable stats, I have never looked at the numbers there before. 944 dropoffs! (attached) Alas the stamp is dry, I usually stamp my notebook and then post a photo of it here (not needed as proof of find but fun to do), so not this time. But gets a favourite. Bring on more large caches!!
Came down on Thursday night with Taybeedragon for a three day geocaching trip and to collect a rare cache type - so rare that this will be the first ever for me - a 10-Year celebration event cache (now rejigged as Community Celebration Events). But that is later today, so we came over to the airport before dawn for a virtual and a few adventure labs and are now just filling in some of the blanks before checking out Halswell Quarry and the event.

Visiting Christchurch to see the grown up kids who are on Uni holidays. Out for an early morning walk and enjoying the spectacular views of the Southern Alps covered in snow. Got to GZ from below which involved a jump over the stream but otherwise not to precarious. Happy to find the cache and it’s trusty keeper. Have not dropped off 100 bugs yet but getting close. 88 at present and picked up one more today. Thanks for a grand cache.
Yip, I've evidently dropped off 440 travel bugs. Didn't drop any here though - - - unfortunately the three I've had for a while were left behind. Decided to give the steep descent a miss but took a while to track down the alternative. Oh well, we got a good look around that way. TFTC .
i've been wanting to do this cache for ages but never managed to get here. Very pleased about that because it was an obvious choice for today. Once again we met bullertrout here. Had a bit of trouble finding the entrance - looked too far in one direction but not the other! Nice quick find here of this well guarded cache. TFTC # 15,340
Out looking for letterbox caches in my last day in Christchurch. This was a great find, and loved the cache guardian! Greetings from Scotland and TFTC
Found as a part of a previous group TanjackMüley. Now I'm continuing on my own. TFTC
During our day to get as many different types of caches as possible. This was our letterbox. Took a little bush bashing before it became very obvious. Confused so we signed both books. Thanks for the letterbox!!
Easy find just off this nice wee track today.
Having a problem opening the lid though...
Have taken photos to prove I am here....
Had some plastic toy swap bugs to add also....

Sick of plastering and sanding let's have a break and find a Geocache. This one helps with our September puzzle challenge cache. What a lovely secret spot with a nice track. Another new place we have never been to before. Eek what an awesome cache, clever and interesting to open. We have not sent any bugs on there way that we own but have found 25 trackables while on holiday and relocated them to the Catlins and Stewart Island. Thanks for bringing us here and the cache TheWanglers.
Today's mission is to increase my diversity rating (different types in a day) on Project-GC. I'm currently sitting on five which was also done on a visit to Christchurch not long after I started geocaching and was not a target on the day, but a fluke of circumstance. Today I hope to get it up to eight.
After get my Multi and Traditional on a beautiful but brisk morning I then hopped into the geomobile and headed further afield for some of the others. I was in the area on Sunday, scoping out this and a nearby Virtual for this mission and took the opportunity to get a couple of nearby Traditionals. Having just got the Virtual it is time for No. 4 of the mission. Parking up on the road I went down the track and as I neared GZ it was obvious where I was going to have to go. A quick scramble had me near GZ where I spotted something suspicious. After mover the outer camouflage cover, I was greeted with a well executed cache which would have been the second biggest I have found. The first was a 60 litre plastic container in the bush at Pelorus Bridge. Opening it up there was the bonus of a TB... cool. Unfortunately I had passed on my stash of TBs at a recent event in Nelson, but checking my list of dropped off TB's I see the number tallies to 160.
That's No. 4 of the mission gone only the Mystery, Web, Earth and Wherigo to go.
I had heard that this CO was a local legend for the quality of their hides and now I know why.
TFTC TheWranglers +1 from me

I had some spare time this morning so went out to find a few caches. I started with a couple of special ones. After completing the unloved cache challenge I headed for this cache. Sounded interesting from the description. Parked on the street above and made my way down the track into the reserve. I was about 10m from the cache when the batteries in my GPS died. Switched to phone app and found that I'd overshot GZ by about 4m. Looked around and spotted something of interest. Very cool cache construction indeed. Extracted the cache from its hidey hole and signed the log. No trackables in the cache at the moment so the CO may need to mark the ones on the listing as missing. Thanks for the fun and TFTC, Biggles.
Find #750! What an awesome cache to celebrate, great to see such a big cache! Thanks!
Great cache, well hidden. Took a bit of searching to find, looked in the wrong area initially. A few muggles around dog walking. My first cache in Christchurch since moving here 3 days ago.
Today, Good Friday, we are spending the day at Port Hills. It's our second week-end in Christchurch, the weather is a bit chilly and windy this morning. After visiting the park close the bus stop, we are heading to this mailbox. We have several TB we found in Japan that we want to drop. That's 5TB in for future travellers! Container and logbook are in good condition. And we really liked the cache, one of us was surprised by a bug... A bit complicated to get there, but we made it and really enjoyed our find.
In Christchurch for the weekend with Gadget169 in search of some high FP caches for the Carnival Souvenirs. What a great hide this was! Picked up some TBs and dropped a couple off TFTC
Came up to CHCH with KJR to find caches with high FP for the carnival souvenir. Nice and easy find this one. The cache was awesome here great work TFTC
Hello from the UK. Travelling around NZ for 5 weeks grabbing caches where I can. I travel home tomorrow and needed a letterbox for cache variation. This one fitted the bill nicely. My friend and I grabbed a pair of lime scooters from Christchurch centre and made out way as close to gz as we could. As much fun as they are they are not good with the hills. Easy find of a great cache. Grabbed 2 of the 4 available TBs to take home with me. Have a fave point. TFTC
Sophie the Traveling Dragon visited the Big Bucket and barely escaped alive!
The rest of the travel bugs in the family likewise.

Found this letterbox. Picked up a travel bug. Planning to bring it back to Canada with us on our trip. TFTC
I appreciated the effort put into the camo. Dropped TB and picked up another one. THanks
Meanwhile this is my third geocaching-trip to Middle-Earth . And I love it! [:X]
Unfortunately, this great vacation is now coming to an end and Christchurch is the last visiting stop for this time .
Sadly today (day #29) with again splendid, sunny weather was the last day for treasure-hunting on this trip .
I dedicated it to visit a couple of ‘OLDIES’ [^] in the south and east of the city .
A good decision, that was rewarded with awesome views and quite some adventures in the countryside - E.G street closures .
Above that, some pre-solved mysteries, a cool challenge, the webcam and the virtual cache at CHR-airport were on the list [^]...
Happy to visit the selected jewels - just like this one:
A really huge letterbox [^], with some trackable’s to be discovered ...
Thanks to the owner [:X] for placing and maintaining this cool cache and best regards from Germany!
P.S.: I’ll be back for the next kiwi-adventure!

Thanks to Joolay our names are now in the log of this large cache. She was kept under close surveillance by a grey fantail who obviously didn't like us intruding on her space. TFTC TNLN SL
Super cache. Definitely a favorite with me. Found with Kittykatch and Smittengranny on a caching holiday to NZ. Been an amazing trip . Today we are running around Christchurch. Lots of fun happening and fabulous views. TFTC
Was a planned stop on our quick NZ tour
Big cache, trackables and letterbox to boot.
So detoured in for a look after a drive around the Summit.
All good here
Dropped a few TBs I have held on to, for too long
Discovered the large sheep TB. Not logged in yet.
I have 697 TB drops at the moment ... 701 with these 4
Will post a screen grab in a few weeks, when I get home.
Thanks
6/03/2019 - screen grab of bug drops added as promised [^]

We've been here on the 3th of february but i couldn't log it. We've been traveling around NZ past month and we're in love with NZ! Thanks for this nice big cache!
I read some people discovered this nice sheep we dropped off! we've had it for a while but couldn't find a place to drop her. Since NZ has alot of sheep, i think it will have a nice time travaling around NZ with some other people. Saying goodbye after such a long time was hard tho. Safe travels my friend!

Day 1 in Newzealand. Today we arrived in Christchurch after a very long flight from Zürich via Hongkong.
A very beautiful Country with lovely places. We were able to find nice Caches and See Lots of interesting places.
