No response to 6 DNFs or Needs Maintenance logs over the past few months. Cache clearly appears to be MIA after the floods. Could I please suggest taking this cache offline or archiving? Thanks.

22-Sep-13
The cache appears to be in need of owner intervention. I'm temporarily disabling it, to give the owner an opportunity to check on the cache, and take whatever action is necessary. Please respond to this situation in a timely manner (i.e., within 28 days) to prevent the cache from being archived for non-responsiveness. Confirmed. The cache appears to have disappeared. Had a good look for anything that could be a cache, but no dice.

I had a little look for this one but couldn't see it.

From our experience and the other recent notes, sounds like this cache needs maintenance.

This one certainly had us intrigued from the description, and the arrival at GZ certainly showed an interesting spot for a hide. Clever use of the terrain! So we scurried around up, middle and below, flashing torches and sharing thoughts with each other on various levels...

After much looking we weren't finding much, so I started a methodical check-out of the likeliest spots. It's then that I noticed something that wasn't like the others, and sent cycling_guy to check it out. Turned out to be a magnet with nothing attached. Hmm.... To find that right at GZ in a likely hide spot had us worried....

09-Jun-13
Given the discovery of a sole magnet at GZ in a likely hide spot, we fear this one may be MIA. Possibly the floods last week had some impact? Might be worth checking out.

08-Jun-13
No luck here despite examining all3 levels. The floods were impressive and the debris left behind is still a reminder.

GREAT morning to find a .o. Cache it's hi UP

Today we went to vsit the CERES market and on our way back we watched out for caches.
This one was an easy find since it was hidden where we guessed.

It might have taken me two trips, but I found this cache today. I have no idea what my problem was the last visit (I think I was trusting the GPS too much), as today I found the cache with no problems. It's a bit smelly, but that might be because I don't like the caches original contents Smile

This cache really reminded me of the 5 Doctors Special episode of Dr Who from way back in 1983! (Which I have on VHS if anyone wants to borrow it). The doctor had to make his way into a tower and there was a little rhyme he kept singing (it was the second Dr in this case) "Who unto Rassilon's Tower will go, must choose above, between, below"

Anyway, as I said, 2nd time lucky, no issues with the find, muggles or the weather. Then it was time to get back into the awful traffic and try and get to work. Thanks for the cache Calebhogan

After checking all three levels we agreed on what levels we thought it could be on. I spotted the cache even though we were on the wrong level at the time! We made the correction and signed the log.
TFTC.

don't want to say too much but we walked 3 levels in the search but found it eventually TFTC

Today I was met with a spare Sunday, having done all of my homework for this weekend on the Saturday. Dad was free too, which only meant one thing. The question was: where to go? I decided to head up North and do a sweep as best I could across the Northcote/Brunswick area. Very minimal DNFs and a lot of new areas discovered meant a fun day was had in an area I have visited many times. This find was the 12th of 23 finds.

That is a pressing question indeed. I spent a little while pondering this question, before finally eyeing off the location of the cache. The extraction was quite difficult, but I eventually got there Big Grin

Thanks for bringing me to a cool spot here Calebhogan and for a nice hide Smile

PS, sorry for such a late log (writing this on 1/9/13) but I guess its better late than never!

Found it after getting a bit confused with all the recent logs. Turns out you need eagle (not pigeon) eyes rather than long arms. Tftc

Find #550

It was my duty today to take the boys to a birthday party (really, who does that sort of a thing on ANZAC day, and so after it was decided to tackle a cache or two.

We got to ground zero and there was initially much confusion with the boys. My dodgy legs were never going to allow me to bend down properly and look around today, so we decided a perambulation approach was more appropriate.

From the right angle the cache was spotted, but deemed out of reach for me, so the assist was made with the youngest boy being used to make the grab, and the eldest used to return it.

They were extremely pleased and I was told in no uncertain terms how I would never have been able to do it by myself.

Thanks for the cache and the fun!

Searched for this with johncenalk for quite a while. Eventually we located it, but to our dismay it was in a very awkward spot to retrieve. Lots of muggles but the biggest problem was that we needed to be somewhat of a contortionist to retrieve it whilst trying not to get run over by bikes. Not a comfortable retrieve and a number of scratches were received. Not sure if this was the original hide location given I noted a magnet on the cache, but would have preferred that it was in a more accessible spot at the co-ordinates. At any level, thanks for the cache.

Out for a drive and finished up in this area, time for a cache or two.
Hmmm, its in the middle of the road, nice vertical challange. Turned out to be at the first level I approached for a quick find and little slower retreival.

Very tricky to access and yes, I tried all three levels to spot the cachce. Be careful with this one as I have a few scrapes...but am still grateful, Calebhogan. Thank you.

30-Mar-13
This one took me a few minutes before I finally looked in the right place, and access was easy enough between muggles. All very logical too, thanks Calebhogan.

A real stretch no matter which way you attack it. TNLN. TFTC.

12-Mar-13
This was a good hide, had to walk all levels before I spotted it, then had to move myself to the appropriate spot to retrieve, which still required some agility.

Nice work!!

Cheers gordo

Who would have guessed that the picnic blanket would be needed for more than a picnic today. Also glad we were both out today as easier spotting. Needed slightly longer arms for the grab, but eventually stretched them enough!

23-Feb-13
A tough challenge that you have set for cachers! If I didn't have previous logs to read, I could have been there for hours looking in all the wrong spots. Thanks to others I was able to get a reasonable idea of the places to look, and then a bit of agility allowed me to reach the cache.

This was Suscoe's last find of today, 10/10 was a nice result and it kept things ticking over.
Well this was a nice challenge and we took a little while to work through what, where and how.
Cache was located by Mrs. S and Mr. S had the honour of retrieving and returning it.
Well done to Calebhogan for providing us with a neat and tidy little dilemma.
A favourite from us.
Time to go home now, back to the quieter climes of down south.

A great night of caching with Rebel Acts, Blacklegend and Trailrunning (TDC) as we cached a big loop around Melbourne and then headed down the bay where we finished up for the night. As usual, we traveled many kms and had plenty of laughs during the evening and night. It was a bit of a clean up run tonight, picking up quite a few caches that were just on the map by themselves, as well as quite a few new caches that had been recently published. We were also very happy to go back and find a couple of caches we'd left in Werribee during a recent cache run as well.
There were quite a few muggles about and it took a little while before the marsh-man called out he had it. Nice one Calebhogan.

Another great night of caching with TrailRunning, Blacklegend and Quasar3671, a great night was had by all with a big loop around Melbourne cleaning up some of the newer caches. Took us a while here but Marshy finally came up with the find. Thanks for the cahce.

Another legendary TDC (The Demolition Crew) run around the Melbourne area. Tonight's run, a cleanup run taking us in a huge circle from the North, to the West, via central Melbourne, then out East.... Phew, the areas we visited.... Another entertaining night, with lots of laughs, a big tree climb, a bridge climb (so to speak) and of course great company and conversations. My thanks to all the cache owners for their hides that we found on the night.

I ended up spotting this one from the right angle, then the tricky find was made. TFTC.

The Demolition Crew were once again out and about in and around Melbourne in the wee hours of the morning collecting caches and having lots of fun and laughs along the way. This was one cache I needed to log. We walked all over this one when Marshy finally yelled out he'd seen it. Nice spot, lots of muggles.

Bolted out for a joint family *FTF*. Interesting new piece of infrastructure and a lot of flitting creatures greeted us.

Haven't gone for a *FTF* run out the door for a while but the timing on this was perfect. Came by with lobster 6 7, essieg and drjim7 on this 30 degree evening. I love a cache with multi-dimensionality. Luckily we chose the right one first up. I suspect this cache would be WAY harder if it had slightly more camouflage. However I was grateful for a fairly straightforward find as I have had a few epically prolonged hunts lately and have been starting to doubt if I have any ability at all. Lobster6 7 did the honours with skillful retrieval and replacement. Thanks calebhogan for continuing to put 'em out there.

Located at one, retrieved at another as it happened...

Short-stuff was getting ready for bed as I noticed the notification email, and I took my time getting out the door for a leisurely drive, knowing exactly where I'd be parking before I'd even left. When I reached GZ and it was just me and the impressive sized spider and no other movement than one well-lit cyclist that zoomed past at one point, I looked like I might have a chance at being first, and when I finally spotted the container and put myself in a position to grab it, my hopes rose. Flicking through the log book... nothing there... still nothing... gah.

If I'm going to be pipped into **2TF** it might as well be by Jim and Josie's clan. Well done... it looks like the race was over at the exact time I got into the car. It was still more than worth the trip for the day's cache... and a darn sight closer than Bundoora.

I'm betting that lobster 6 7 had an easier time getting the thing out of and back into its hide. A tiny bit of camo, and the difficulty would certainly increase dramatically.

Thanks, Calebhogan, for the evening's adventure.
