No joy here. The area seems to have changed a bit with trees cut down and rocks disturbed. Wasn't sure exactly how the hint was applied. Checked a number of places. Nothing seen. Interesting monument to the old Catalina flying boats. Will check another time.
In the area today with PageNZ so stopped in to make a nice quick find. Loved the Catalina. TFTC
A interesting bit of flying history. I love watching theses old war birds when they are flying around.
Cache was not to hard to locate even with plenty of hit items to choose from.

With work finishing up mid-morning today, I decided to make the most of the remainder of the day and head down to Hamilton for some cache detection. Making my way out of Hamilton now, but not before I add this find to the tally. I parked up at the end of the street and got to searching. Tried a few wrong spots before I got the right idea. Then it was just a matter of time before I found it. Which is exactly what happened. Right, time to fly! Cheers for the cache placement!
I spent some time looking under the ----- as per the hint, nothing to be seen by me today, lot's of rubbish about but not the cache that I could see. Again, I'll keep this cache on the watchlist.
Bummer... I just read the previous log to mine! Catalina cache.... Catalina Dr!! Lol.. I was on the wrong side of the flamin' fence!
Today was a last attempt at getting a bunch of caches to rack up points for the planetary pursuit mission. I managed to find 15 caches, just as I was finding the last one, I found out that the challenge had been extended by a week! So i needn't have busted my ass trying to get heaps of caches the last 4 days... but at least I got my own cache total up nicely.
Like tryfyn I drove up and searched around before realising I was on the wrong side of the fence. Drove to the correct GZ and searched around for a bit, trying to interpret the hint before finally making the find. Cool structure here! Thanks for the cache.

Trying to work out why nothing about this cache made sense then realised that I was on the wrong side of the fence. Continued to grab a couple of solved puzzles then drove to the end of Catalina Road - now it makes sense! Quick find due to a good hint. TFTC.
Deary me, this was a brain fade on our part, went back to GZ and found immediately, thanks for the cache, love reading about our old planes truly fascinating
The cache is still there. It had suffered from a bit of cache creep, but only by a few feet. We cleaned it up and replaced it where we found it. We've changed the hint a bit to make its location more obvious.
My wife had some business in Hamilton .... now so do I I neat little bit of history here. Cache was found quickly and in good condition thanks to accurate coords and a good hint. Cheers steedandpeel, TFTC.
Came back to re-find this and glad we did. Nice clue for an easy find. TFTC!
Yes, this one had gone so we have replaced it with a film canister and the hint has changed slightly.
Happy Hunting!
Happy Hunting!
Area has been somewhat cleared. Tried high and low, under and over but no luck. Maybe owner could double check? We loved this little hidden gem so keen to come back...if it is still there. TY!
Sorry, we've just left for a bit of a holiday, but will check this one in the New Year.
TUrns out we had not left enough time to make a find here - initial search left us empty handed and daughter and I had arranged to pick GAR up at a time that meant I couldn't really try any longer so have to log this as a DNF. Did read the log by supernanny which made us laugh and more careful around the catalina. Another time...
Didnt get this one today as muggles were playing on walk way, will have to come back another day
Super Nanny deserves the purple heart for this one, taking a whack to the head from the Catalina. Told her to get over it and get back to caching. Tftc
What an adventure... First ric insisted on taking me to the wrong side of the fence....Luckily I found an opening and got to gz . (ric couldn't fit through.)
Then after crouching for a time leaving no stone unturned I stood up quickly only to be dashed to the ground from a blow to the head from the Catalina !!!
No blood so carried on to a successful find.
Can't believe they can call the blind end of a road a park !
Thanks for the Catalina history.....

The end of 2015 saw us take on a big couple of days of caching. At the beginning of the year, we set a goal of reaching 4000 caches by the end of the year. Towards the end of 2015, it wasn't looking too promise as geocaching got put a bit on the backburner for us as life and things happened. Come two days to the end of 2015 and we realised we were much closer than we realised, so set off to Hamilton for some binge caching to reach that milestone! Today was a day with a lot of more DNFs than expected and less numbers than we wanted, but regardless, it still brought us that little bit closer to our goal.
Knew we were in the right place, given the title and description of the cache! Soon located the cache. Glad we were on the right side of the fence. Thanks for the hide!

This one was a bit harder to find. Had to get in there myself to help the kids. But was still fun.
This wasn't what I was expecting at the end of a typical street in Hamilton. Did a few laps of the area before reading hint and then understood and made a quick find.

Came back aft a DNF a while back. Found easily this time, as no neighbour muggles here today. I note the fence now has a doorway! I hope that wasn't one of us. Cheers for the cache SnP.
Loved the plane here. All quiet here when I found the cache. Thanks steedandpeel.
Found caching with alpenmilch80 on day #3 of a 3 day road trip to the Taranaki.
Another find in suburbia.
Thanks!
Another find in suburbia.
Thanks!
My second day on a cache run to Taranaki together with Slieschke. Today the goal was to explore the Forgotten World Highway and to make our way back to Auckland. We decided to take a longer break in Hamilton to help celebrating its 150th birthday with fireworks and a Time Warp. Quickly found this one to get back to the warm car. TFTC
Wary of neighbours nearby. Had a quick look, but will have to come back another day.
Yay for the holidays and geocaching to help in keeping the kids occupied. TFTC.
New container and clean and dry contents now back in place. I also tidied the area up a bit so it is a bit more presentable. It'll be lovely when the hydrangeas flower.
This cache has always gad a bit of a damp issue.I've collected it and found where the damp is getting in. We'll replace this soon and do a bit of CITO while we're at it.
The rain lifted and we decided to get out of the house and go for a ride... Ended up in Hamilton. How convenient...
This is one of those caches that has taken us ages to visit. We seem to have cleared up most of the neighbours except this one. Finding the cache was straight forward. The hiding material had slipped a little and the cache was visible. The contents were a bit damp, but nothing too dramatic. We think that with a bit of a tidy up, this little area could be quite attractive. TFTC.

2.45pm - Talk about being on the wrong side of the fence but got it in the end. SLTFTC
I was a bit concerned on my way to gz as previous attempts have been abandoned by muggles and the fact that there were 2 recent dnf's. However that and the drizzle didn't dampen our need for a cache for today and a rubbish truck provided the noise distraction for the locals while I quickly located the cache. I now wish I had found this cache last week as the Rugby World Cup pin would have been suitable for a certain first disco our son attended! The log was slightly damp but doesn't pose a problem at this stage. TFTC
Had a real good look with kimbathelion but couldn't find it. Man across the park was interested in what we were doing as he always sees people searching!
A wonderful day out with family. walked the reserve in search of this little number. two muggles playing catch about 30 metres ahead of us. stealth mode activated. moved to the left of the reserve and slowly tracked my way up the fence line. muggles noticed my presence and moved on. lucky me.
would recommend locating a alternative route as the most regularly used one is destroying some of the enviroments boundaries. this cache was a favorite of my father-in-law, all the streets in this neighbour hood are named after planes. nostalgia turned his memories to the past.
thanks for this amazing experience.

2.50pm. Found one here some years ago. Another quick find. Left a TB that I picked up this morning.
Thank you. David.

A nice interesting spot. I was with a couple of muggles introducing them to caching. We started on the wrong side of the fence, soon realised we were in the wrong place. Soon managed to correct this issue and quickly found the cache.

This must be one of the smallest parks in existence. Nice little piece of history to go with a good find. Thanks.
Had been here before but this time it didn't take too long to find the nicely hidden cache. Plenty of cars around but did not see a sole. Nice cache for our 1000th. Thanks very much steedandpeel
Hit Hamilton trying to get 24 caches. Nice little place especially with the Catalina to add character. Street started to stir [l:0] just as I found the cache. TFTC
Yeah, nah. Pretty sure I upended every one twice, couldn't find the cache though. Maybe another time.

Who knew this was here! A nice easy find at the end of a quiet street. Thanks for the history leason.
Got busted by a local who knew all about the cache and caching. Offered to show me the hide so a quick find with his help, even though I didnt ask for it! Thanks.
an afternoon out with hpg, this cache was a little visible on approach, but isn't now, tftc
Day 3 of our Mega roadtrip to Auckland. Dad was sick of waiting in the car and was in a hurry to find somewhere to eat, so I was just trying to sneak in a few easy caches before we headed to our accommodation. A nice fast find here. Thanks for the cache.

After a trade-me pick up close by I detoured to capture the nearby caches. A relatively quick find - nice camo, container damp on the inside, but lodbook dry inside its bag. TFTC
Nice quick find in the rain, like others have been to this spot for a find before. TFTC!
