GPS lead me to thick patch of shrubbery, searched around and also near memorial without luck
Another fish out of water swimming home with me. Left some gagetry. Nice spot with more trees planted on the pitch, progress I suppose. Tftc.
I came in the long way from the cemetery to find this interesting and unexpected memorial.

Probably not the best day to head up to Katoomba for a few caches - so many muggles around and parking anywhere - even at the lookouts - was a nightmare.
As a result I bypassed a few caches I'd have otherwise grabbed. But still nabbed a good number - including a full AL after being lucky enough to get a parking spot at Leura.
###END OF CUT AND PASTE SECTION###
Came here after a visit to Leura for the AL. While there I snaffled:
# Leura Garage
# Wayzgoose Café
# Country women's Association
# Birches of Leura
# Bygone Beauties
After that, made an obligatory visit to the Candy Store - as you do.
###END OF ADVENTURE LAB SECTION###
Continued to here. Such a surprising history - wonder where the pitch was, exactly?
After taking in the monument, the search took quite a while. Found the iPhone pretty useless, so in the end I got the prize by checking every spot in the likely hide areas.
So obvious once you find it.
Unfortunately, like many others I found the cache full of water. Managed to squeeze a spot dry enough to sign, but this needs TLC ASAP.
Replaced the container upside down, which should at least stop it filling with water again - well, until someone turns it back up the right way.
Gets a favourite for the history.
Time for one more.

Found with my daughters, eemiaj while caching around the Katoomba area, visiting from the Hunter Valley area, the 4th and final day of our visit.
One of the most interesting caches I've found for a long time, near a fascinating memorial. Container is full of water.

I was up the mountains for a wedding this weekend and stopped off on the way back to grab a couple of caches.
Took a while to spot but as is often the case i had an “aha” moment when i came upon the cache.
A peaceful spot and it was interesting to learn about the history.
Unfortunately the cash was full of water and i was unable to sign. Maintenance is needed.
Picture as proof of find.
Thanks.

Easy little park and grab with fascinating history. The cache is still waterlogged and the log needs replacing. Thanks All Strung Out for placing the cache. Have attached photo to proove our find
Area is exceptionally wet. Cache was full of water and I was unable to sign. Puc for proof.
Log booked is saturated and cache full of water. Poured water out but needs new log book. Ironically there's a fish toy in the cache! Interesting little bit of history at this area.
The logbook is very wet, I emptied the container as there was a few cms of water inside. Sealed it nice and tight but will need the logbook replaced. Thanks!
Almost walked away but decided have one last look near a tree we hadn’t looked at yet and found it!!
Great spot, however as recorded earlier where are the finders the logbook is soggy and unable to be written on.
Found it! Although I’m very sorry to say rain has gotten into the container and the log book is wet. We covered it with a rock hoping that would offer it some protection. Sorry to tell you
The places geocaching takes me. Thanks for highlighting this interesting memorial. Fav point from me. TFTC
found with Chippyddd and geodog and georabbit while doing some extra caching in the Blue Mountains area. Cache and logbook are dry. Room for small SWAPS and drops. SL TFTC TFTH Replaced cache as found ready for the next cacher. Anyone for cricket? Thanks and Cache on.
Found alongside my Geo companion Mystic Seer and geo rabbit, and dog. Interesting place I bet when cricket was once played here. SL Replaced as found ready for the next geo-adventurers. Thanks goes to the CO for this cache and bringing us to this location.
Just catching up on some logs from the past month. Interesting little location. TFTC!
What a truly interesting location! Hard to imagine a game of cricket being played here! So nice the history of the place is honoured with the memorial. We bush bashed our way in and then of course noticed the track on the way out Isn't that always the way! Tftc! And thanks Lurliners for replacing the container.
I have replaced the cache box & logbook, and added a pencil. Unfortunately the previous cachebox lid had been completely destroyed. TFTC.
Love the interesting history that these geocaches reveal. Thank you! Logbook was wet so didn't write our names inside it.
This was hard to find but we managed to. Sadly it was wet and yucky. Is it bad etiquette for us to replace this? Happy to if that’s ok. We’re local.
Didn't find this cache. I wonder if it was picked up as rubbish if it was wrapped in a doggie bag, it looks like the area was recently attended to by the bush regeneration crowd.
Found this one this morning. It was in a different area to where I expected but I like surprises like this. Unfortunately the cache needs maintenance. The lid has completely broken off and the cache was full of water. Although the log book was in a ziplock bag, it was completely drenched so I could not sign it. Thanks for bringing us here.
This cache needs urgent maintenance. I put the cache into a green plastic doggie bag (that was all I had) to protect it until it is replaced. Thanks
Found cache but it needs complete replacement, container lid is smashed and filled with water. Unable to sign. Very interesting place though!!
Tried to get to this one via the cemetery but ended up rather confused!! Drove around to marmion rd and found it easily!!
Found a good hiding spot which wasn't actually the right one, then found yours thanks All Strung Out.

Turned out to be quite a difficult cache to get to until I was near the opposite road. Tftc tnln

Out for the weekend to relax, cache and watch Crossfit games.
Nice brisk windy day for caching. Found this one rather quickly but fear it was not where it was supposed to be re: terrain.

Find #1414
An early morning start while waiting for family to make plans for the day... today we set off in 4 degrees and windy conditions. Brrrr.... We retreated to this cache after an aborted approach to 'Crossroads in the dust' - trying from Eight/Ninth Ave was not easy! This one had us stumped for a bit, but widening our search had it in the bag. TFTC....

Up at frazeydaze's retreat for the weekend provided the opportunity to grab a few caches around north Katoomba. This one took a while as the little compass was sending us everywhere. Loved reading about the history of this place. TFTC All Strung Out.
The third of 7 caches on oldmorty's list for today. A lovely sunny day in the Blue Mountains. Don't bother trying to access this cache from the cemetery on Woodlands Road. Oldmorty and I drove round and round the cemetery trying to get close to GZ and couldn't see how we could possibly get to the cache without a lot of bush bashing. Drove round to the Bush Regeneration gate on Marmion Road. A lot easier with GZ location in sight. A bit tricky to locate cache as direction reading kept changing. Eventually found cache and sign the log. Very interesting place to play cricket. TFTC All Strung Out
Streak Day #1258 - Nice quick find with dave8153, thanks for bringing us here and TFTC
6/10/16. 9:09 AM. Cache #4275.
3rd of 4 finds today - Leura & Katoomba.
After spending about an hour at the previous cache ("Lyrebird Dell Round Walk"), I only had time for one more this morning. And since I've all but cleared Leura's caches, I decided to come here to this one, only just inside Katoomba.
A recent finder mentions in their log that they were sidetracked for a while by the odd "installation" nearby. Me too; the coords kept leading me back to it. I eventually made the find after widening my search a little, but I'd say the coords were pretty good.
Time to head back to where we're staying. 3 was going to be enough for the day, but an extra tip for "Leura Railway Alex Hotel" led me to a find there late in the afternoon. TFTC.
