I am no longer able to maintain this series. Seven years ago, when these were placed, the walk way was largely just a bush track. It has now become a very popular walking trail. The hide location has become compromised.
Tftc was hard to find at 1st but spotted it laying on the grass so put it back..
Found with gavgav2889 TFTC!
Cache was in plain sight sitting on feild, have put back where it belongs all dry and well

Another cache found for the Mystery at the Museum Challenge, Cache all dry, signed and replaced as found. TFTC
Out on a sunny day to collect some caches, some are puzzle caches that we have solved. Sunny start to the day, set off at the park. Following the fun climbing the tree in the Linklater Pines, we went to do Fred's Walk.

Jumped the little ditch to get to the tree and the cache was soon located. TFTC
I have set myself a goal to get the requirements for the mystery cache The well-rounded cacher challenge (Manawatu) This requires me to get 25 badges 5 of which need to be gemstone badges. So each time I now go out caching weather it is by myself or with fellow cacher I will try to get a least one cache that will help me get closer to my goal
Decided to go to Palmerston North today to do a bit of geocaching while I'm there, needing to get at least one cache for a dot on my calendar matric but aiming to get about ten caches which shouldn't be too hard to get
A quick an easy find
Thanks for the cache

#10,316. Since our DNF here in April this year, we were pleased to see the cache had been found by ThatWeirdGuy04 and TwigNZ. So we returned today to Kelvin Grove in Palmerston North for another look. GZ was all quiet on this Saturday afternoon … but the grass area was pretty boggy. The immediate GZ was a lot tidier today than when we were here last time. The cuttings and other debris had been removed. The cache itself was a quick find this time. It was in good condition. Although the log book was slightly damp, it was ok to write on. Took nothing, left nothing, signed log.
Thanks for the placement and for bringing us to this site, and …

My lad and I were up in Palmerston North again yesterday evening for a games night with friends, and were staying over so figured that today we would do a bit of caching here to make a real start on achieving the 100 finds needed to complete the Hidden Creatures challenge.
With this in mind, I had planned to do this series, even though 1 of the caches is currently temporarily disabled. Luckily for me, the CO was kind enough to supply us with the code that we would have obtained from the missing cache, so there was then nothing to prevent us from finding the final 7th cache.
Having parked up near the start of the track, and with a heavy dew on the grass, we set off. As it was reasonably early on a Sat morning, there weren't many people around which allowed us to find these caches without having to be super stealthy.
This one was our fourth of the five required finds for today. As we walked along the track we could see two Hint objects near each other so figured it should be a simple search. As I'm logging this now, I see that there have been a series of DNF's prior to our find today, but it was an easy find for us, so not sure why the previous problems. The log sheet is in good order, and was signed and the code noted prior to returning it all as found ready for the next finder.
Thanks for the cache.

3rd found today. Still finding #3 hard though. Time for #6. Good thing the grass has all been mown lately!
Went to check on this cache. Couldn't find it so replaced in the same location.
This cache was attempted as part of the Palmerston North leg of our "Road to 6,000" Extravaganza for 2016.
A quick find.

I had been in Palmeston North for a couple of days for work and decided to try and grab a few caches before I left. I didn't have a great deal of time but saw this walk on the map and decided it would be a good opportunity to stretch the legs. Cache was a little exposed so I tried to tuck it away a little better than I found it.
Found but couldn't see the value of D anywhere. Still, not hard to work out, I guess!
Replaced the cache today. However, I neglected to write the number on it for the puzzle. Don't worry, you'll be able to figure it out as you go. I'll get back sometime and write on the container and log sheet.
Need to replace this one. will get there in a week or two and do maintenance check on the whole trail at the same time.
Vistra and I had headed down to to Manwatu for the weekend, we both wanted a high number weekend and I was looking forward to meeting some of the locals as well.
Thank you to all the CO's for their placements some nicely placed, clever and tricky hides, so a great variety This needs maintenance, looks to have dropped out of its hide and be chewed up by the lawn mower, managed to find the lid in 1 piece and get the number but the conatiner was in bits. TFTC

I traveled down to Palmerston North for a 3 day geocaching weekend to give my numbers a bit of a boost, as I head towards my next caching milestone. I decided to fly there and back and pick up a cheap rental car for the weekend. The weather was perfect and I had a great weekend down there.
I joined up with yorkshirekiwi83 again today for another day of caching, before our flight out this evening. After a day of caching around the city, Bunnythorpe, Ashhurst and the gorge, we returned back to the city to pick up a few more caches in the evening before our flight. We decided to tackle the Fred's Walk series of caches - it was a nice little walk to end the day. As we began our hunt for this one the neighbours yelled out what we should be looking for. The cache wasn't there, but we did find the lid (with the code) and part of the container that had obviously been caught by the lawnmower! Put the lid and bits together in the tree and added a sheet of paper - but this cache will definitely need replacing. TFTC!

Found it quickly signed and replaced ans on to the next ..enjoying this and the walk tftc
This one was pretty much wide open. Not much cover to hide under as the tree has had the weeds sprayed. Quick easy find for the kids.
Read the sign at the start of the reserve & was wondering where the wetland was :/

First of the hides we went for, as I missed the part about the secret last one O_o
approached GZ, and had to pretend to take pictures and take about drainage, while Mr muggle and his dog passed us by.
Shortly after cache was ours and log was filled.
Cheers

I was on a day trip with my mum (SunnyBunny64) and Nickhbnz and his son Lucas. TFTC
2 adult cachers and 2 geo kids on a road trip from Napier to Palmerston North seeing how many caches we can log on our way! It was quite squelchy and boggy in all these areas. The kids raced off and one of them spotted it on approach so we quickly signed the log and took off to the next one!
CO check: completed this walk with my toddler in the mountain buggy. Cache was almost in the correct location (thanks numptybum). Logsheet was damp so replaced this and re-hid cache. Please ensure it is securely in place before leaving so it can withstand Palmy winds
Found with the help of JnrSS who took a marble and left 2 gems. Thanks for the cache and the walk - I will return to do #6 and the final another day
Up here for a week on work commitments, any spear time was caching with Geco72.

All good. Kids played on a swing by a tree nearby while we hunted down the cache. Getting closer to the end.....So dry despite the sign mentioning a 'wet land'! TFTC
Another quick find (a good thing as the sun was beginning to burn off the cloud cover). Thanks for the smiley.
