Driving North today, took the advice of parking up the road and walked back, initially on the wrong side of the stream. Easy find once on the correct side.
I was driving north from Christchurch to Motueka today and stopped to pick up just eight caches along the way. A short walk along this track with the geohound and the cache was a relatively quick find. Very peaceful and picturesque setting. #7474. TFTC.
Last cache of the drive. Lucky the weather let up and there wasn't train to contend with or I may have kept driving. I've only been up this track a short distance, maybe 30 minutes?
Spending the winter woofing, tramping and exploring the west coast caching along the way ..of course..
On my way back to punakaiki after a couple of wet days on the st james walkway...
Still out in the rain for thos one...good to know where the track starts for future adventures..found eventually..all good..

Decided on a bike ride out to grab this cache. A short walk into the forest and we soon had the cache.

I had no idea this track was here as I'd not really taken much notice of the sign each time I'd driven past. I parked up the road a bit further in the rest area which many years ago was my only stop I'd make on the drive between Nelson and Christchurch, just to stretch the legs etc. On approach to the track trailhead I saw my entry point and wandered along watching the metres ticking down and not long afterwards I was signing the log. It's nice here, thanks bumandworker. Your cache is in good condition.
Out on a 2 car road trip to Reefton. Log signed with team name of Hawkes Harem. TFTC.
On a road trip to Reefton with busy paws, lyttteltonwitch and Geomum007 we are signing logs as Hawks Harem. Gorgeous tree gave it a hug to celebrate the find. Thanks for the cache bumandworker.
On a caching trip to Reefton. this was a lovely detour on the way. A tui was singing away. Log signed as Hawkes Harem. TFTC
Visiting the South Island as the grown up kids are on Uni holidays. Heading up to Nelson today collecting some caches on the way. Wonderful sunny day although cold and frosty to start with.
First time over Lewis Pass. Loved the scenery and the short side walk to get a smiley here. Cache all fine. Thanks

Called into the pullover area with the caravan, then Andy headed off for the cache while I waited in the car. The road was very busy today in both directions with quite a few speedway cars heading south. Andy eventually arrived back saying cache was a quickish find. tftc
Third one of the day to amuse me on my way North.
Quick find.
Thanks for placing and greetings from the .

This cache was found on my great journey by campervan from Christchurch to Auckland. All good at GZ. Nice and plesant park (with bit a walk here ) and grab. TFTC
This was the fifth day of my driving trip down to Oamaru for Geofest 2017. I stopped every five to ten kms or so along the way to grab a cache. This expanded my driving time to a total of two weeks to get there and home again. I ended up going a total of 3,500 kms.
My GPSr had me 7m from GZ, but I still managed a find. TFTC.

Tramped the Nina/ Christabel/ Rough Creek route many moons ago, it was a great one. Nice to pop up the start of the trail and rediscover this lovely forest. Soon located the cache after cords settled, tftc
Took me a while to understand the hint but then I saw it and all became obvious. I managed to park in the rest area and walk along to the track start with no vehicles going past. A bit damp in the Lewis today. T F T C bumandworker
On a 4 week trip through NZ we found severel nice GC. What a trip and what a beauty to find all those GC.
Nice quick stop on a day full of driving to Picton. Thanks for the idea of a break!

Closest reading on the phone was 113ft but that geocachers best friend, the rock, gave the location away.
Quick find and coords spot on, TFTC B&W.
Today was the long drive home from Chch to Blenheim, and it would have been reasonably quick except for the cache stops along the way. Just targeted anything that looked likely between Hanmer and Wairau Valley township, so 24 in total. Thanks to all the cache owners.

Another stroll. How lucky are we to have this beautiful beech forest. It's just fantastic. A notice saying the track further on is for experienced hikers only, due to damage. TFTC B&W
The Seagnoid, Zara & I are off to Ashburton to pick up Toby. His nose job and body work are now complete so time to bring him home with extra time to explore Banks Peninsular again.
Dusk is settling in but hopefully have time for one more in the forest tonight or will it be tomorrow. We are caching by cellphone but soon realise we are on the wrong side of the creek. Its getting darker especially in the forrest but The Seagnoid finally snaggs the cachebefore retruning to Zara in the dark. TFTC. Camp out here for the night. Our fresh water was not tasting too great so sent The Seagnoid back to the creek for some cool fresh water - in the dark with lots of containers to fill.. Great place. Cheers

Going to Ashburton with TaybeeDragon to pick up a car and spent the long weekend exploring, one box at a time.
We left Blenheim at 5pm and got here late dusk. We only had seven satellites in the sky and could only lock onto 4 of them, which gave us an accuracy of 16m. The bush was all green tinged shades of grey, and alas, all we had was name and coordinates. No description or hint. But we found the cache, and by the time we got back to the car we were picking out the track in the gloom as mostly a gap in the black. No torch, you see. Then I got sent back to the stream to get about 15 litres of good water, as ours tasted funny. Very nice water, delicious! Filled up our containers by the torch of my cellphone, which I remembered to bring this time!

My third bush walk today looking for caches. Has made me nostalgic for the days before I lost my partner. We used to do a lot of tramping. It's not the same walking in the bush without him 10 years later. Thanks for the cache. Great break from the endless traffic.
Very nice piece of bush and a timely strtech for the legs as we were heading south tftc
It was nice to have the excuse to stop on our way home from Hanmer today. Mr and Mrs KE did try to tramp to Lake Christobel from the Rahu access point once upon a time. It definitely wasn't our sort of track. But this track as far as the cache was nice.
Thanks bumandworker for the cache.

Hmm. Usual markers. I should have trusted my GPS instead of thinking X marks the spot. Found (eventually). Thanks for placing this cache. I told myself it would need to be the last one for today or I would never get to my destination, but the walks have been so nice … I did one more.
Very grateful for an excuse to stop and go for a short walk in the bush in the fresh air. TFTC #7466
Another great find touring around the South Island while making my way to the Mega. Thanks for adding to the enjoyment of this trip.

Time to head home to Nelson from Hanmer Springs today. And find a few caches along the way. Car was parked as indicated and I made my way back to the track for the short walk to the cache. Sounds like a tramp I must try to do one day. TFTC, Biggles.
On an epic caching mission with Surveybase to North canterbury, Waipara, Culverdon, Springs Junction, Reefton, Greymouth, Arthurs Pass and back to Rangiora over two days. Final count for the weekend was Saturday 124 caches, Sunday 80 caches. not a bad weekends work. sorry for the cut and paste but it would take forever to log them all. Took a bit to find this one due to GPS issues. Found after about 20 minutes. TFTC.
On an epic caching mission with Shannonp1 through Reefton to Greymouth over the Lewis Pass, cacheing in Greymouth then returning to Rangiora via Arthurs Pass over two days. Final count for the weekend was over 200 caches. A quick easy find on our way past.
Through the Lewis now. Pretty quiet on the roads. Enjoyed the short walk into GZ.

#8932. Summer is good time to tackle this one (the only downside being the traffic to negotiate to get to the start of the track. A pleasant walk and a quick find. TFTC.
After spending Christmas and the new year in Canterbury, we were on our way home from Rangiora to Richmond, picking up a few caches en route.
Not sure why we hadn't stopped for this cache before as it didn't take long to get to GZ. It was a good time of the year for a bush walk as it was dry under foot and a pleasant walk in the cool shade on a warm day.
Once we were in the right place, the cache was a quick find. Thanks for the leg stretch and the cache.

Found this cache on our way from kookier to hokitika via pancakes mountains Thank you for sharing a lot cool places with us and making our way more bearable Thanks a lot and greetings from czech republic
We have driven past this track countless times but never stopped to wander along it preferring the Waterfall track a bit further along which unfortunately is now indefinitely closed after "that" storm. This one is a more than satisfactory substitute "leg stretch" though for a break on the drive between Nelson and Chch. Thank you bumandworker.
Our turn around point here before we set up camp at Marble Hill. I never stopped here before but will again in future. Nice to stretch the legs on a ChCh run. Thank you Bumandworker for placing this cache.
A short stop I've driven past many times. Finally, a chance to slosh my way up the track and claim the cache. Cheers, took the coin.
Nice little tramp in the bush. Welcomed by another robin, keen to observe what I was doing.in his/her territory. Dropped off the Auclkand Geocoin that I had retreived from the Waitaha Saddle cache (near Reefton).
On my way home from a full on weekend in Christchurch, needed to stop and stretch the legs. Quick find in the dark TFTC

Will have to do this full track someday as part of my hut bagging adventures. Tftc
We enjoyed the short stroll to this one. A day of short strolls really as this was the third for a cache for today. Always good to break the journey - although we were doing it more often than was really essential for Health and Safety. But nice caches to add to the stats.
Thanks.
Thanks.
Good Friday, off to the Coast, though doubtful of getting there after the windstorm. A nice walk once I found the track. Lucky for me the rain had yet to start. Thanks for the hide.
It was good to hop out of the car and go explore a little bit of bush on the way past. TFTC .

Found on way South. Have not walked this track but have been to the lake a different way
A quick easy find at the obvious large feature after a short walk up the track. TFTC
Parked as suggested where a couple of trampers were preparing to start there walk so had a short time to walk in and find. Quickly got to GZ and saw a likely looking spot and there it was. We intend to actually have a go at the rest of the track at some point. TFTC
#3 of 28 for the day! All 28 were done by Mrs Rincewind3 without the rest of the team as we were at home with EQC repair stuff to sort out. Mrs R was on a road trip to Reefton and down the Coast through Mahinapua and back to Christchurch and a hot bath! Many thanks to the caching buddy, too.

Lovely little forest walk, the atmosphere in here was just uplifting even though it was still spitting. I suppose it mightve just been nice to car out of the car after an hour and a half drive. Thanks for the cache
Quick stop on my way Westwards for Easter.
Loved being back in the NZ alpine beech. TFTC

With a little persistence it was found despite the GPS swinging from 0 to 23 metres all in one spot! Thanks.
A quick find on the way north this afternoon. Lovely spot, must come and explore further in here some day. Signed log, TFTC.
*FTF* Our second FTF as we travelled east this morning. Took the CO's advice and parked in the large area on the coast side of the bridge. TFTC
