Definitely not what I thought I was looking for. Was a nice surprise to put my eyes on the right place and find the container. Lovely place to stop on my way to a weekend away in Wairarapa. Amazing to see so many names of my friends who have found this in years past. Thank you. Enjoyed this one (once I found it)
I tried to find this years ago on my first caching trip to Greytown but there were too many muggles around. IsisNZ suggested we stop this morning on our way out of town as it was nice and quiet. She's already found it so pointed me in the right direction. Thanks wascox#17257
This looked an interesting challenge but it beat me this morning. I didn't have as much time as I obviously needed & so had to leave it. Hopefully, I'll be back soon...
Wow cunning placement we looked for quite a while, most rocks turned until we spotted something out of the norm!TFTC
Cool cache. Took a bit of searching and had to resort to reading old logs and photos to work out where it was. Favourite point from me. Found with mswilby. Thanks for the cache, wascox#6031 ** Make your way to Dunedin for New Zealands next Mega Event. GCA7ZHD Geo Toroa will be held on NZs Labour Day long weekend 26-27th October 2024 **
Found with SoStephOh and sister on a chilly night as we head back from Castlepoint Lighthouse to our accommodation near Cross Creek Trail head. Thanks for the clever design and placement. Threads of cap not grabbing so its good the paper is waterproof. Brilliant hide. Cheers.
Night caching in Greytown. Been in the Wairarapa over ANZAC day/weekend with IndianaJill. Definitely a lot easier, without muggles around. Thanks for the cache!
It's Sunday morning and again I am up before everyone else. To here. Man this was a tough find. So many mechanisms - I hate mechanism hunts. But the D rating was too easy for a mechanism hunt. Something is not right, so I checked the hint. Which made me recheck all the stone - any fake stones here?Okay, it took ages to find this cache, but that is mostly a sour grapes thing. I guess anyone who reads the hint prior to hunting would have a lesser problem! On the way back I found a huge burst pipe, fresh water pooring out at a few letres a second, enough to supply quite a few homes just going down the drain. It was 7am, but the council's call centre still answered the phone (and she was a kiwi! An on-call phone operator?) Later in the day I saw they already had a water team out to fix the problem. Nice.---I spent the weekend in Greytown with seven friends. We had a number of things we wanted to do, but alas the weather canned to two of them so the only mission we did was the caches along Admiral, Clifton Grove and related roads. None the less we had a great time, Took down some branches over hanging a garage, found a few new caches and generally had a pretty good time. Apparently some parts of the country had a very wet time, but all we got was a few bits of light rain, but that is enough to stop a couple of long walks.
Despite its relatively large size, it took us quite a while to spot this sneakily hidden cache, certainly not what we were looking for based on the other objects in the area. TFTC
Quick park and grab with some new caching buddies, including the geo-kid kea_wolf. Good start to our day.
Day 5 in Napier, New Zealand. Driving from Martinborough to NapierThe journey up through the heart of southern, Northen NZ was past my expectations. Always surrounded by hills and beautiful views.Wasnt planning on many stop, but one in the towns we passed through. It took a few minutes to spot the hide, the getting to it was the next challenge. Eventually the cache was in hand.Log signed and replaced as found. Thanks for the traditional cache wascox #7,847
It may need new paper everyone is just writing over the faded parts. Fun cache though. See some Easter bunny shaped chocolate at the Shoc chocolate store next door.
Took a bit of hunting but found it eventually. It could do with a new logsheet. Had to scribble my name sideways in a gap
**taybee** is caching again with **taybee nz** for the dayhad same time to kill the gps show this one not find Quick find here today when i we to log find that i log it back in 17/07/2018 All in good order, sign log book as **taybee** or **tb** or ( **TNZ** or **taybee/nz** as *taybee and taybee nz joint sign* ) TFTC Cache was found at **08/01/2024 @ 17:43:00**
So tricky to find. I had to call in helpers as spent ages looking. We forgot our pen so didn't sign the log. TFTC
Well I had trouble with this one so called on the other member of my team for assistance, so come in Woody. It took ages but finally I spied something. What a tricky dicky find. Very clever & definitely not what I was expecting. Great spit
Out and about with NZ_B, targeting highly favourited caches for the Wheel of Challenges. Spent some time admiring the plough while covertly looking for the cache. Soon spotted the clever hiding place, although not where I'd expected it to be. Signed and returned without any issue. Tftc!
Had been working in Masterton for the day and heading back to Wellington Airport to fly home.
Driving back had to pick the easy park and grabs and this had a lot of Fav so decided this would be one. Had to look at a past photo and then found the cache. Really cool to see original log paper and the bike logs on it. Fav point added for this reason!
That was about the only luck for this afternoon/evening. At the Wellington Airport the weather was WINDY and the Jetstar flight after two attempts at landing headed back to Auckland. It was ONLY when the plane was about 15 minutes away from landing in Auckland that the gate staff advised that the flight was cancelled even though it was plainly obvious on the Flight radar app

After a visit to the Gin shop we headed here as I've had good wascox cache finds before. Another nice piece of camo, in the CO we t-rust, signed and replaced after admiring some other farm stuff.
I fancied a day out and we identified Masterton/Greytown as our approximate destination. Castlepoint was deemed too far, but that was OK. Managed a few finds in the day and some unexpected shop visits yielded some treats to enjoy that evening (taramasalata) and another time (1st edition Stephen King book). Nice day out, saw some nice stuff, enjoyed a decent drive, and the rain held off. Cheers to all COs.

Thought I was looking for one thing but found something very different indeed. A well placed cache. Thanks for bringing us here. Deserving FP
Stopped here on the back to Masterton after a day of exploring south, nice spot, found it eventually, great hide, tftc
Spent an hour touring the museum and grabbed it on the way round. Lid is broken. TFTC
It had been quite a day for me, with so much going on in my head that when a puzzle got published in the Wairarapa I barely gave it a second glance. However, others certainly did not shy away from having a crack at solving it, and it wasn't too long before I was hearing ether chatter about the solution being arrived at.
So I'd barely set foot in the door at home when a received a call out from a mate (YetiNZ) asking if I'd like to accompany him on a hunt? Too bloody right I would! Even though I had something really important I needed to do this evening, this was an adventure and life needs to have a few more of those.
So plans were hatched and soon enough I found myself in the Wairarapa. Having found the new puzzle, and knowing we had a bit of time up our sleeves until we had arranged to meet another friend for a drink, we decided to find a few more caches including this one.
I wasn't entirely sure what to expect when I got to GZ, but I had a hunch. Sure enough, a small sea of stones stared back at me having illuminated the area by torchlight. Where to start? Well, that thing there looks different and before I knew it I had found the cache.
The log is suffering from a case of 'too many bits of paper', and most of them have been scrawled on in haphazard fashion. I managed to find a blank spot to sign before replacing everything back as found. Thanks for setting this one up.

Took us a while and then read previous logs for clues What a great cache!! Absolutely brilliantly hidden
I had a little wander around outside the museum, and eventually spied something that I figured I should go in to retrieve. So I paid the money and wandered around the village after popping directly to this fun hide. Tftc!
I have stopped to look for this before but left it due to the number of muggles around or at other times no parking. So I thought it might be easier early this morning in the dark but in hindsight I'm not sure which looks more suspicious - being observed fossicking round in the daytime or searching by torchlight in the dark. The GPS up and down for quite a distance but then I spotted it. Another clever wascox cache signed off and another favourite. TFTC # 18,516
It has been moved.. spoke to lady at Cobblestone and she said they have a new groundsman, and she susupects he threw cache away, not knowing what it was
Parked across the road, and made my way to GZ. Looked at all the obvious spots and nothing was coming into view. Now its after 7.30pm, so no muggles about.
Again started to look at previous logs, and then I looked low, and spotted another sneaky hide.
Thanks again wascox, loving your hides. Thanks for being part of todays adventure

Spent a few minutes looking until my mum saw something that looked a bit out of place. Our pen isn't working so I took a photo log instead. Tftc!
Sadly the clue was too cryptic and we couldn't find it - would love a slightly stronger hint!
Spent a while searching — we were looking for a different kind of hide! Infoferret eventually spotted the obvious. Chatted to the nice staff member who had spotted us while opening the museum, showed them the cache, and explained the game (helps having someone with you who speaks Yorkshirease). Thanks wascox, nice cobblestones!
Unfortunately I spent too much time in the museum and had to move on without finding it. Thanks for bringing me here.
Since my last effort here, I think GZ may have moved a few critical inches as a result of a museum-induced' modification. A lucky encounter with a museum volunteer today resulted in a nudge in the right direction after which the cache was quickly located and the log signed. Good to be slowly turning Greytown less blue and more yellow!
Sneaky also my phone had me all over the place but decided to apply logic tftc fp also for cache and site
I was pleasantly surprised by quickly finding this cache. Must bring my family here to explore the treasures. Tft c
On a trip to the Wairarapa with Flowerydaze on the hunt for caches and in particular PWGT 2 series, however we had a list of other caches to find also and this was one of them. It took a long "look" before we spotted this one neatly placed. TFTC wascox
Talla64 and I are enjoying tripping around the Wairarapa finding some great caches. We stood and surveyed the scene for a little while, looking for something out of place. We both spotted it at the same time. Thanks for the cache wascox, a good one.
Living in Greytown may be a pipe dream, but finding this cache was relatively easy. Quite a bit of traffic on this lovely sunny Saturday. Signed log and replaced where found. TFTC.
Stopped by here before the museum was open and no muggles in sight. Scanned the area at gz looking for the cache when MrJAG spotted something out of place and on close inspection found the well camoed cache.
Day 14 of a road trip with Saethwr around the lower North Island. Caching not a priority, but we will get a few.
Martinborough to Wellington.
Arrived in Greytown just too early for the Museum, so did the AdLab first.
Lucky at Cobblestones as the printer was working due to a bus load due in.
Stopped for the find on the way to the chocolate shop!
Spotted the cache, retrieval a little trickier.
The screw-on lid is missing a chunk.
Thanks for the smilie wascox.

Visiting Masterton for a week of work. Got some time off to collect some local caches. Have stopped at this cache before without success. This time it was evening and nobody around. Just wandered round eyeing everything carefully before suddenly spotting it. Happy to add to the favourites. Thanks
