I came down to the southeastern suburbs today in order to grab a multi-cache as I needed to find a multi-cache today in order to fill in a missing calendar date for [ahomburg's](https://www.geocaching.com/p/?guid=1ded3729-fe62-40bb-9f5f-fd559e7163b1&wid=6dbc178e-cf55-4705-a97f-435a7b7e6997&ds=2) [WCW - 50% Multi Calendar Challenge (GC9Z58Z)](https://www.geocaching.com/geocache/GC9Z58Z).Well after having to [log a DNF](https://www.geocaching.com/seek/log.aspx?LUID=9f8aeb40-be82-44bb-a4c1-aa2f118dc76a) at another one of the [CO's](https://www.geocaching.com/p/?guid=eaa1e02c-5a02-4542-b1ad-d2e429ced493&wid=393c81b0-fa1e-485d-a293-8bef7ecd2e7e&ds=2) multi caches, [Hilltop Bushland reserve (GC5AB8Y)](https://www.geocaching.com/geocache/GC5AB8Y_hilltop-bushland-reserve). I had to find another multi cache to attempt to find, well with this one being the next closest one I was hoping I would have more luck. I was able to park the geomobile near the posted coordinates and within a minute or so I had gathered the required information and worked out the coordinates to GZ. The weather was nice enough for a walk and GZ wasn't terribly far, so I decided to head over on foot.Once I arrived my phone homed in on a likely beacon. I found the logical spot, but didn't spot the cache right away.*Oh no... Am I going to have to log another DNF!*Lucky, for me that was not the case. The cache container was just a bit further in and buried under abit. However after digging around I was finally able to get my had on the cache.*Woo hoo!*A big thanks goes to [Pinkpiggy7](https://www.geocaching.com/p/?guid=eaa1e02c-5a02-4542-b1ad-d2e429ced493&wid=393c81b0-fa1e-485d-a293-8bef7ecd2e7e&ds=2) for the fun little multi and the lovely walk today. TFTC.**Cache Maintenance Status**The cache container despite being a bit buried was in good shape and the logbook was clean and dry with plenty of room for future cache finders to sign.
The last few times I visited Cpt Bob I was wandring around looking for a number somewhere and it felt incredibly awkward - and then it went missing! Thanks for bringing it back from the dead and making the calc simpler for those of us that don't enjoy being a sketchy wierdo.
After getting the numbers I waited for a day where I needed a cache and was back in the area. Today I parked at the shops and wandered up the trail to make the collection. At GZ, the cache was a tad exposed so I helped it along with a little bit of bark coverage. All is good with the cache.
A note for the council: when I was walking to the cache I passed a young woman struggling with the gravel paths as she was using a wheeled walking frame. These paths should be cemented to help people get about.

It was CEE and that must mean there is a CEECC to attend. I headed out this way a little early and managed to grab a few caches along the way.
I came to redeem this one after it had been muggled on my last attempt. I crossed the long grass to get to GZ only to realise I had left my pen in the car. I improvised and signed the log with a stick and some dirt.
DNF redeemed!
Thanks Pinkpiggy7 for adding this cache to the worldwide collection for us all to enjoy.

Due to a grumpy fireman, we have simplified the finding of the numbers for this so you don't need to search, previously the numbers were on the flag pole but the fire guy wasnt happy with people looking at the flag poles, so now you can just stand in front and admire the building, no searching required.
Final remains in the same place, only a change to the method of calculating it.

Out with echidna44 in the heat and rain of the day. We struggled gathering numbers from the fire station but eventually got to gz where cache was quickly found. Thanks PinkPiggy7!
Out with pinnacle333 we spent a day caching from Harkaway to Beaconsfield in heat and sudden bursts of rain.
We had a little trouble obtaining the right number as the firemen were just back from a job. My phone got wet in a deluge and died just after that. Fortunately one of the others had a working phone to find GZ. Great hide. Thanks Pinkpiggy7

I found the numbers to crunch during a walk around the neighbourhood from our motel and took them back to the motel to work on. It was lucky I did that. My first calculation was about 2.5 km away and reading previous logs I thought it wasn’t right because others mentioned walking a ‘short’ distance to GZ. I rang a friend who is also one of those previous finders just to check. She said one digit was wrong. I looked again at my calculations for the wrong number and saw my mistake immediately. It was soon fixed and it was a great example of how one wrong number can make such difference. The next day, or was it the day after, I managed to find time to take the short walk, braving the Masked Lapwings swooping, The_Evil_Muggle and I parked behind the shops and walked down to GZ to make the find. All was in good condition and well hidden to the average passer-by. Thanks for another great puzzle Team Pinkpiggy07.
This was a fun cache to find on twos day! It has two parts so was perfect. I had a little trouble working out what number to use at W1 but eventually worked it out and had very likely coordinates. Thankfully the geopup was a good distraction for the muggles watching me from their cars and none of them seemed bothered that I was standing there for a while.
We wandered over to GZ and made a quick find as the cache was in plain sight. After signing the fresh log book I replaced it with more camo and it's now nicely tucked away.
Thanks for the cache!

Searched everywhere but was unable to come up with the goods today. Checked with a PAF and I was indeed in the correct spot. I think some bugs or animals have been digging out the holes.
To many people are finding our caches in breach of lockdown provisions, disabling until things are open again.

After the Leap Day event nearby. Had this puzzle solved few months ago for a quick time. Found it and good one. Thanks Pinkpiggy7 for placing this multi.
As I approached the given waypoints, to gather the required information, I noticed a couple of people acting suspiciously. I joined Grub62 and Bunadoorian in the search. Bunadoorian spotted the numbers and, after doing the calculations, we took the short walk to retrieve, and sign, the log.
Thanks Pinkpiggy.
Thanks Pinkpiggy.
TFTC and keeping this cache in play Pinkpiggy7. While Bunadoorian and I were working out that our original co-ords were definitely incorrect Crustyvarmint came along and then Bunadoorian spotted what we should have used. Calculations made and we all headed off in the correct direction. Crustyvarmint found the cache first.

There is a bit of a story behind today's caching run. Back in June, I was in Scotland and I signed a challenge cache that required me to find 20 multi caches in a single day. I initially thought I had qualified on a caching run a couple of years back in Geelong, but upon running the checker I discovered I was 4 short. Fast forward to today, quite carefully planned out was November multi Madness day.
I remember attempting this one some time ago but failed dismally. Today it was a quick and easy find since I already knew where to search.
Many thanks to K_Wolf and now Pinkpiggy7 for the cache. TNLN.

For an easy single step multi, this proved quite a challenge for us, taking 3 visits before we came up with the correct numbers:) We dropped by last week while waiting for my favourite takeaway (Thai) and took some more photos and came up with good looking coordinates.
Today we took the short walk to GZ and signed our name. Cache in great condition.
Thanks to Captain Bob, K_Wolf and Pinkpiggy7 for keeping this cache in play.

Seeing as how I was in a nearby (well actually a neighbouring) suburb I decided to find a couple of multis to make the round trip worthwhile. This one took me a couple of minutes to twig as to the correct source of the required numbers.
I see that the establishment in question has installed a webcam which monitors a logical spot which cachers would look at for the numbers. I presume someone over the years reported our behaviour and they installed a webcam. It must be quite funny to see someone turn up now and again and search the same area with the same sort of expression.
Mevertheless, the numbers were discovered and a potential GZ calculated. After parking quite close by I took a short walk to GZ and spotted the hide on approach.
I've dropped a TB for a fellow cacher to pick up.

Perfect Melbourne weather got me outside and after doing the nearby '200' I came here hOping for a quick find. It took me 3 searches for that eLusive numbEr (how did I miss that) not to be confused with lots of other numbers around the place. Quickly found the right co-ords and then drove closer, and a nice stroll to GZ. A very quick find as there was no camo, but there is now. Wish I had a fav pt left to give as I loved this little challenge. Thanks kindly for keeping it going.

Well Capt Bob you made us work for this one. A couple of false starts and a fair time spent here we were not going to get the right GZ coords. Then about to toss it in, I saw what I needed. Yes they were more like it. A short stroll and Cache was quickly found .
Thanks for this tricky multi .

Found as Nicnax with PapaGrouch. This was my second try at this cache and PapaGrouch's first. Last time I looked all around but could only spot the alarm company's phone number and that wasn't right. This time I was having the same problem, the GPS was pointing me into the building so I looked around some more. I was just thinking that I would have to contact the CO for a tip when I spotted that elusive phone number. A quick calculation then we were off. A nice walk and the cache was found. TFTC
This one had a frown on it until tonight. We started back at the beginning and redid the calculations. This time, we were able to find the cache, sign and return it and turn the frown upside down. Thanks for the cache.

While out gathering a few supplies from the nearby Sunday market, I found myself the some time to spare. After a quick check of the map, I was off to a multi that I had solve only two days earlier. Solving it was a whole another story as I drive past it every Sunday and at other random times during the week. Being too smart for my own good I would always only do a drive by or google view. It so happens that if you actually get out of the car you have a better chance of finding things you need. With the correct info I was able to calculate a real GZ and today was D day. Cache was now found. TNLNSL. TFTC. Kkams
Found on the second attempt after failing to find the numbers required the first time. They are quite small.
Well what can I say other than I have been very very inactive that last couple of months couple that with some lack of logging from the past couple of geicaching days it equates to me not having done anything at all really....... but I digress. So today I woke up a little early to e sure that both the food and some caches could be found before I head off to work tonight. Today was a rather successful day with many finds. I do apologise for the generic log but am rather mentally fried after my third year uni exams. Thx for the cache and the lovely day.
Found by Mary & David at 0920. Gathered some numbers while at today's "Dads' Day Breakfast Event", and made an easy find when the moment presented itself. Quite a few people joined in the trek, and we were all well energised by bacon and egg muffins. Our thanks to Pinkpiggy7.
After the near by Father’s Day event we were luck enough to find this cache.....fabulous!
With bit of help from he CO, had the co-ords for the gz and quickly retrieved the cache and log signed tftc K_Wolf
GPS kept jumping all over the place and had me at one stage peering into the fire station window.. A bit disconcerting for both myself and the occupants inside.
The numbers found are obviously not the right ones as the resultant co-ords make no sense at all. Perhaps a PF to the CO is in order and will come back for another search. tftc in any case

I headed out to Beaconsfield today and spent some time looking for the number. I eventually found it, after a PAF. Its there and can’t be painted over (which is what I was worried had happened)! Then I went for a short stroll and retrieved the cache, happy I was out of sight by the person nearby reading a book. TFTC Pinkpiggy7
Catching up on some logs and out with CashewMinx for her second attempt on this one after being spooked by the resident firemen. Got the required numbers and simple solve, then wandered off to gz. From a fair distance out we assumed it would be in one particular spot so put away the gps, but quickly realised we were wrong and made the find straight after that. Tftc
Found a set of numbers that clearly did not fit after trying the sums. Felt extremely dodgy poking around the garden of the fire station with a man in the office right next to it, so reached out to the CO who gave us a big push. Quite straightforward after that and relatively quick find at gz ( after getting caught out by another structure close by that we thought would be the hiding place! ) Tftc

Unfortunately a dnf for us today. Now that we have a little more info, we will be back to get this another day.
Found this one while we were in town grabbing some lunch and also a cache or two. We soon had the required numbers and after some searching about had the cache in hand, thanks K_Wolf for the nice little multi and hide.

Listing and co-ordinates changed as the fire station has moved across the road. Happy hunting
I have been to this spot about 8 times, whether it was too busy, with the cafe next door or I felt I had eyes on me looking suspcious. Having watched the firestation across the road being built I wondered if this information required soon may not be here, so once again I sneak in early but this time I have a more scope of the spot I am looking for. Then to working it out. Now given the name, and my previous search of my own hiding spots I knew where I was going but unsure to WHERE. So I nutted out a set of co-ordinates and started my little walk, when the needle was saying 1 way my head really was saying another. In trust I give the spot on co-ordinates and Hip hip hooray I signed my first log in what feels like awhile. It's always great to have the ones you think about & NEED to do, be done. On such a beautiful morning it was a great way to start this week-end.
Today we explored Berwick and surrounds using geocaching as a guide and picking up a few caches on the way and this was one of them. After working this one out earlier, we made the find today, an easy find.

Since moving from New Zealand I have been enjoying the area, exploring and finding caches. I have got a nice streak going and hoping to let it run for as long as possible. This may or may not become easier now that I have found a job but I’m still currently staying with my brother (stinky tom) and his family which includes my nephew (stinky bob).

Like people before us we struggled to find the necessary numbers even after what we thought was a thorough search. After getting back into the car , we decided to try once more not allowing it to defeat us. On closer inspection the numbers screamed at us and we soon had a very viable GZ location to visit. As it was dark a torch came in handy to locate the hidden cache and we soon had our names added to the log.
Thanks very much for the puzzling multi!
Thanks very much for the puzzling multi!
The first time we looked for the "sign" was nearly a year ago. Every now and then, when I've been in the area with some spare time, I've stopped for a look and still no luck. This week we'd been mopping up caches around here that we still hadn't found, so stopped by again. The door was up and there were lots of firefighters around so after a very brief look we gave up. Same thing the next day. Today, the door was down and the station looked quiet so we started searching again.
After a few minutes, an older man approached and asked if we wanted to look around. We explained why we were there and he said a man and his son had been there recently and had found "whatever it was" near where they were looking. He joined in the search and it was him who made the find! I can't believe we'd not seen it before, it's so obvious once you see it that it's embarrassing He invited Geodaughter in to sit in the fire trucks (photo added to gallery) and he told us a lot about the different types of truck and the new safety equipment, which was awesome.
We said our goodbyes and with the required info and a bit of calculating we were soon at GZ. Geodaughter made the find quickly and we went happily on our way, glad to finally have this one turned into a Smiley
Thanks for the cache and the experience!

Such a beautiful afternoon to geocache. Not much time to go too far and been going to do this one for a while. I grew up in a small country town where the CFA was very much part of the community. Every Sunday right on the dot of 10am the fire siren would be tested, the truck be checked and taken out to do a lap of the town. The truck was always part of any celebration and always brought Santa at Chrissy time. When I was 7 years old I was woken from my bed by a fireman and carried outside. The shop attached to our house had caught fire but with a quick response from the CFA it was contained mainly to the shop and we were all safe. Always grateful to all the CFA volunteers, especially the Captain Bob's for all they do. SL. Left a small swap. TFTC casey.cachers.
i have lost count of the number of times I have stopped and looked for the LNNNNL code. This afternoon I was in the area and parked nearby and walked down to have a look. With the help of daylight and a surprising muggle free look the code was there. I know I looked there before but I'm sure I over thought the whole code thing. Back to the geo car and a walk later and the cache was logged.

Been a while since the Captain had been loved. Thought I had better check in on him. Still there.
Catching up on some late, very late and extremely late logs (400 in all)
I would like to thank casey.cachers for placing this cache. I always enjoy getting out and about to view this great country of ours and caching allows me to do that. Once at GZ, I sometimes find the cache quickly but sometimes it takes awhile to sus out the well camouflaged hide. Once found, log is signed and the cache is rehidden as found.
Once again thanks casey.cachers.

Out today with Biggles Bear, attending the flash mob in Berwick, then grabbing some more in the area. We searched for quite a while for the required numbers but failed to find them. We read through a few recent logs, and most had difficulty locating the numbers. We looked again, and this time found what we were looking for. (Not sure how we missed them first time). From there we headed off to GZ for a nice quick find.
My thanks to K_Wolf for the cache.

Well that was interesting. Out for a night run with n0w0rries and this was the first of the night.
We arrived at the start, both of us having tried to collect the required information on prior occaisons. We hunted today to no avail, nothing seamed to match. We were concerned that we had been here too long and possibly raising suspicion by local muggles, a few vehicles did appear to stop close by.
We decided to PAF and Team Swaggies pointed us in the direction of information, I had discounted this earlier misinterpreting what I was looking for; Arghh. Coords calculated off we went to get a nearby trad and park the car before heading to GZ.
We were sprung by the local rossers who we had noticed had attended the information collection point. Thought we had escaped when 3 divi vans pulled up to check us out. Thankfully one of them knew of the game so all was ok. We explained and we were left to our devices.
Trad collected and off we went to GZ. Coords a bit out so CO will be provided with what was measured.
What an exciting find.
The night was not over though. We went to get a nearby multi and had not started looking 5mins when a divi van from another station pulled up to check us out.

Never a dull moment when yorsys and I go night caching.
After searching for info at the posted co-ordinates we went for a nearby trad.
As we arrived at the memorial the law showed up at the fire station.
Not too sure if it was the dark jackets and beanies or the very bright torches flashing around but we soon found ourselves the centre of attention.
After a quick explanation we were left to continue.
A thorough search of all the wrong spots soon narrowed our options and the cache was found.
I think Captain Bob deserves a favourite point for the exiting night caching experience.
Glad not to be going home in the back of the divvie van!

Finding the info for GZ was no problem and after a short enough walk I was searching to no avail. Things improved when I finally looked at the right hiding area!
Cache check after adoption by Casey Cachers, cache is where it was some 12 months ago, still in good condition, log still has a full page and a half left, co-ords ok
This was quite an adventure. I had a fair idea of where GZ was going to be, and after spotting what I needed it turned out that my hunch was correct. A lovely spot today and with nobody about I was happily adding my name to the log.
Thanks for the cache.

Searched n searched. Couldn't find it. Not having much luck. We must be doing something wrong
Just started geocaching with my boys. We must be doing something wrong as unable to find any. Very disheartening
Arranged to be out to get this with Bernieh who called while I was at a nearby trad to say he could not make it. The rain was pouring down while I searched for the appropriate information. I could not located what I needed. With all the rain I needed to find a 'Comfort Station'. I will log a dnf if I cannot find the information when next I visit.
Out on a nice sunny Sunday arvo to collect a few caches that I have neglected for the lat two years. Also seeing as they were fairly old ones I took an old GPS along to see if it was still OK to use. I compared my old Garmin Oregon 300 to my newer Garmin Dakota which I generally find very accurate to see how much technology has progressed from 2010 era. In this instance the 300 was spot on wheras the "20" wandered a bit. Caches found in a logical spot and we covered it up a bit better.

After reading the previous log, we found our GPS's to be down to about 4-5 meters which was acceptable. There is really only one place to put a cache around here anyway, so no problems from us.

Travelling around Australia in our Caravan with our cat. .
Camped at Berwick and awaiting the arrival of Sylken heading across from SA to help us attempt a 'mob challenge cache' tomorrow, we still needed to find a cache today to continue our geostreak.
Wow the waypoint was hard, but the final being 8 metres in the air was unbelievable. Seems this one has been muggled! Cache in good order other than being thrown to the skies.
We returned it to a more accessible position but tonight checking with a previous finder not sure it's where it should be.

ummm we replaced the cache in an obvious spot but apparently it's not where others have found it [?] If the CO checks on the cache we are happy to advise where we left it. [xx(]
Wow, but did we make a mess of this one.
5 year old Geoson and I got muggled out at WP1. A member of the CFA (been a member for forty years) approached us as we were hunting the elusive clue, and asked what we were doing. After a brief explanation of geocaching and how a multi works I got told some grand old stories of the old days of this station. Quite interesting, but none of it was to help me find the cache. The old timer was sure there was nothing of the sort of thing I was looking for at the co-ords, and he should know, he's been coming to this station for forty years!
Finally I found it, and upon pointing it out to him he exclaimed, "Blow me down, I'd never noticed that before!"
So a quick calculation and some farewells to the old-timer fireman and we were off to GZ.
At GZ, I continued to make things difficult for myself after being sure I had to scale this thing. Quite a bit of effort and a little bit of spilled blood later I realized this wasn't the case. Found the cache in the second place I looked, signed the log and replaced the cache.
Thanks K Wolf for a most interesting Multi-cache.

We found this cache today at 4:15pm as number 18 of 26 on our Narre Berwick Beac Tour. It took a goodly while to spot the required info at WP1 but once we had that, we followed the co-ords to the well placed hide. Thanks from D & H B-A.
Went for a drive around a nearby suburb, to pick up a few caches in the area.
Spent some time working this one out, then the cache was located after a short search.
Many thanks for placing this cache, K_Wolf, for us and others to find.

Found this one today. Took a while at wp1 but not too bad then wp2 was an easy find which was a relief. Signed log today.

I called past earlier in the week when I only had a few moments to look with the idea of collecting the info to solve the multi at home at a later time, only to come away wondering if the sign had been removed as there was a post at GZ that looked like a sign was missing from. I was in a bit of a hurry and didn't have my thinking cap on and I hadn't thought about the CO. When I got home I though I might read some logs to see if there were any clues. I noticed that a local cacher who has been finding my caches lately and I have been finding their's had recently found the cache. I decided to send them a quick message to see if I was wasting my time looking fora sign that wasn't there. They responded and whilst reading his vague hint I realised who the CO was. I had done a few of K_Wolf's caches when I first started caching and they were tricky. I liked the way this CO thought. So upon this revelation I went back today with plenty of time on my hands. I was so keen I even parked in the driveway at GZ I guess that made me look less suspicious as I was getting a few sideways glances. Knowing what the CO was like I wasn't leaving till I found it. It was staring me in the face as most of the caches by this CO do! Plain stated clues that I miss nearly every time! The final coords calculated quickly which took me to a location I expected for obvious reasons. Two big thumbs up to Captain Bob there needs to be more men like him in the world and thumbs up to the CO once again TFTC SL TNLN TBV

Hurrah! A cache! After a string of disappointments today because of my lack of height, I've finally found one! I love this playground but when daunted with the number of things to count for ABC, I almost fell over. Then realised how easy it is. Hoorah! I'm going to give a favourite point for the hint because it's brilliant. I also loved this playground, too bad I brought the geodog and not the geotoddler. He would have gone berserk here with happiness. TFTC K_Wolf!
Finally found the place vacant, have tried a couple of times before got the required information and finished the job for Bob. Thanks K_ Wolf FTC.
This cache nearly become a nemesis cache... but after what was a rather long search we found the obvious. Glad we did this in a team as it increased the chance of success enormously. TFTC
Sharkiefan, Geopr1ncess and I had met up to journey down to the south east to attend coley_babee's Geo Hens party. After the party, we decided to pick up a few more local caches and this was the last of them. We came very close to DNFing this cache, as we could not find the sign with the LNNNL. At first this was because the fire station was occupied, but finally I found the required number pattern. From there is was a short trip down the road to the cache. A nearby restaurant caught my eye and we decided to stop for a light dinner after having made the find.
We picked this cache up at 5:24pm.
Thanks for the cache K_Wolf.

Tricky little multi that we almost gave up on as the place was occupied at the time we went looking. Louiseann spotted the right sign eventually and we were on our way to pick up what was the last one of the day. Next stop...DINNER!! haha

Found with Lochb and Quiet1_au in near darkness. We knew this would be tricky but thought that we should give it a go. We searched for the sign for some time and were about to phone the previous finder when Quiet1 came up with the numbers. We then eventually came up with a set of numbers we were all happy with and set off for Gz. The cache was a quick find at Gz. thanks K Wolf
