I was out geocaching in the area with DARKSIDEDAN and ToyHunters this evening. This was one of several caches that we found in the dark. It was actually a lovely night to be out geocaching! Cool and foggy and all the great things about walking through the forest in the dark (and none of the creepy stuff )Thanks for the cache, Rapidlywild!
Had a good time bashing my way around Isaacs Ridge in the dark this evening. I was planning to tackle the new Tealby AL, but for some reason my phone wouldn't let me log into the AL app - so I focused on the real world options in the area.Managed to get my signature into the original log book somehow.TFTC!
Geobash Easter Mega - Day #4 (Easter Sunday 31/3)Day four saw me having a chill out day. I decided on going finding quality hides instead of quantity. The day started with the event GCAMJ0W but given I arrived early, I did the nearby tree climb. I also joined the flag parade up Mt Ainslie. I found a couple of historic hides as well as some higher terrain caches. I really enjoyed a day of taking it slow and not rushing around everywhere. I also avenged some previously DNFed caches which one of them I now understand why it took me so attempts to find it. I also found a few labs and once I got back to the motel it was time to get ready for my big power trail day tomorrow. TB visit. If the cache wasnt signed as JohnoMawbs, it was signed as JM or as the tour group name. A big thanks to the CO for adding this cache to game for the Geocaching community to enjoy. TFTEs & TFTCs As I was parked across the road from this one I decided on finding this one too. A nice quick find at GZ and then I headed off to the next one.
Out and about again, headed around Canberra for the MEGA. Super excited my first MEGA and heading over with 2 others from the Cockburn Crew - signed log as WAC to save time. This is 14654, hoping to clock over the 15,000 finds in the week in New South Wales and ACT.Thanks to Rapidlywild for the caches we found.********** ********** ********** ********** ********** **********OZMEGA2024 OZMEGA2024 OZMEGA2024 OZMEGA2024 OZMEGA2024 OZMEGA2024********** ********** ********** ********** ********** **********Head over to Australian Capital Territory for Capital GeoBash MEGA - Canberras first ever Mega Event. Over here for Canberra Mega from Western Australia picking up caches and meeting like persons. TFTC signed as WA6 (Geotrakka Meme28 Burns345 ic_nothing cirrus_wa and Neva2old)
Part of the Sandgroper contingent that has come to the Mega to explore new hunting grounds. Its sure to be a great week with many finds and laughs with lots of great friends and maybe some new ones along the way. Thank you for placing this cache for our enjoyment. Logged as WA6
Another beautiful sunny Canberra day. We cant complain about how this GeoBash week is going!Out and about with our WA5 team Burns345 Geotrakka ICNothing and also Neva2Old collecting some targeted caches on our list!Logs signed as WA6.Cache found with no issues. Cheers
Very happy to be here for my first Mega event from WA. Out to fill my grid and find some high favourited caches. Lots of laughs catching up with old friends and making some new friends along the way. Signing as a team - WA6Some logs are delayed and out of order - Apologies for that- its been hectic trying to keep up! Many thanks Rapidlywild for placing this hide for me to find and adding to my adventures.
Found this cache on a Good Friday walk around Wanniassa Hills Nature Reserve - thank you Rapidlywild for bringing us to this spot. We found the original container and log book - the container's lid is broken, however we placed the original log book back into the bottom the container and covered with rocks and signed the new log.
Cockburn Crew on tour to the Canberra Mega. Day 1 involved a bunch of caching around Sydney before making our way to Canberra for the Capital Geobash. We found a huge variety of caches, and its great to cache in new territory that we havent explored much in the past. Unlike our home state of Western Australia where we have found just about anything and everything.A beautiful day with great weather and even better company. Thank you to the local COs for a great day in and around this great country of ours.
The third day in Canberra and surrounds for the OzMega Geobash across the Easter weekend.Made my way to the event location for the first time today and enjoyed some of the festivities there throughout the morning. The afternoon was filled caching all over the place with a high priority placed on older caches to help fill Jasmer grids.Another day filled with an amazing variety of cache types and containers were located and with a large group the competition to get hands on the log first was high, with plenty of laughs along the way too. Thanks Rapidlywild for placing NT: Alawa for me and others to find.I added my name to the log at 16:50 on 29/3/2024.This is find number 8529 for me.
Day 5 of my Canberra Mega adventure. Out caching with the members of the WA6 crew. The day looks to be another sunny day, so a great day for geocaching . Very happy to claim a smiley here . WA6 crew - Geotrakka, meme28, burns345, Neva2old, I c nothing and CirrusTonights adventure we are signing as STG.Some logs signed as N2O or WA6This is my 12858 find Thankyou Rapidlywildfor placing and maintaining this cache.
Found it! It was actually half-out in the open, but sitting confidently in its camouflage, and really who is going to accidentally come across it out here hahaThanks for the cache
Visiting from Adelaide to see family for the festive season, and today its time to tackle more caches in the Wanniassa area including some puzzles solved in 2021 that I havent had a chance to get to until todayFound this cache and signed the log. Many thanks for the placement and the ongoing maintenance!
Thanks to domsky, this one lives on. Thanks for placing a new container and log for future finders. Not many of the NT series left, so good to see this one get a bit more life.
We came for a meander around the hills here today.
We parked very close to this one, but reading a couple of logs we could see it needs some TLC.
We found the container and the log book, however, we have added another small plastic container with a lid and a new log sheet and put it inside the original container.
This should keep it going until further maintenance can be done.
Thanks RapidlyWild

First find in Fadden. Made the most of being at the intersection of three new suburbs for us today.
Unfortunately the container is cracked and in need of replacement. The logbook is also soaked and unsignable (see photo).
Thanks anyway Rapidlywild

In the spirit of reconciliation we would like to acknowledge the Traditional Custodians of country on which we geocache throughout Australia and their connections to land, sea and community. We (the pants people) pay our respects to their Elders past and present and extend that respect to all Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples today.

See earlier log. Container is cracked, full of water and logbook is soaked and unsignable.
Thought I’d grab a cache en route to chess as is fast becoming the Monday evening custom, and this one qualified as a quick park and grab (given I was short of time).
Quick find, but unable to sign given the entire cache is full of water and the container itself is starting to disintegrate. Nice spot nonetheless! Saw this little beauty as I jumped out of the car. Thanks for the cache!

Cache full of water, logs need to be replaced. Glorious day for a walk and picking up some caches. TFTC
#1633 On my way up to pick up a couple on Wanniassa Hills, made a short diversion after parking the vehicle for a quick find here. The container does have a crack in the lid and container has been placed upside down to rectify this I presume, but logbook was still a bit damp. Thanks Rapidlywild for placing this cache. The first I've found in this series.
Another weekend caching in Canberra. Today's just the drive up to Tuggenarong with only a few caches along the way. Mostly left overs from other trips but fun ticking them of the map!

Container is broken and all that’s inside is soaked and wet. Need a new logbook. Haven’t been able to add my name on it.
Second in the series for me. Unfortunately this cache is cracked, so not only can water get in (and it has) but so too large huntsmen (and she has). You could probably hear the scream from Woden. TFTC.
Didn't expect to have to hop a fence for this one! Still, a nice quick find. Thank you!
A great find ! Was out in the open so hid it a bit better for the next person to find

A straightforward find on a beautiful winters day caching around the hills. Thank you!
On a cold Canberra morning. Up from the coast. We saw this one on the way back home on the side of the road so we grabbed it. Good to have another Canberra cache in our basket. Thanks for the placing. Kutgw
After grabbing a few puzzles nearby, I pulled in to pick this one up on my way home. TFTC Rapidlywild. I've probably done most of this series now.
Thank you for the cache. We had a great time searching for it with the Schwabbies!

There were several kangaroo skeletons we found with the kids on the way here. Real kangaroo graveyard vibes!
This nest of puzzles has been a thorn in my side for a number of years.... I have managed to keep whittling away at them until I have enough to justify a trip, then I start again.
Today I was joined by Aquilus1 who takes a keen interest in solving puzzles, we have made an excellent puzzle solving team over the last few years.
With these down I am down to the last 4-5 unsolved in the Wanniassa Hills, Isaacs Ridge.
Sorry for the generic log... all caches were in decent condition on the coordinates

The wattle is blooming and the weather is perfect for an afternoon walk to the Wanniassa Hills to find a cache. Left a lucky Chinese Feng Shui coin. TFTC 2BluFish
Our last find for the day before our wattle day event up Gunghalin way. A great way to spend the first day of spring, hiking to the top of Mt Wanniassa with Gliss! We initially approached this one from the wrong side of the fence, but soon had ourselves sorted. Our haul for the day includes 5 Trads and a Trig delightful. Tftc
Found with Nibletricecakes at the end of a walk up Wanniassa Mtn. This walk ticked off my 10000 steps on the first day of the challenge. TFTC.
I was passing by and had some extra time in my day so I stopped for the fast find. TFTH
Found while on a trip away with tmann421, heading to the MEGA in Canberra

TFTC, will need a pen if you want to log in the booklet. Watch out for roo bones if you bring little ones.
Nicely covered by previous finder. Tftc. Last of this series today. Only 1DNF is all good. Off to buy a whippersnapper.
Was out here doing some caches in this series only a few days ago, and found myself parked right near this one today with DSD before heading into Waniassa Hills! So decided to quickly swing by it and make the find on my way past!
Good coordinates and the clear camo made for a nice and quick find here. Good to see this one has survived its entire life, the container is showing it's age but holding up well!
Thanks Rapidlywild, seems like this was my second last cache in the series too!

This was a quick find this evening on my caching adventure around Wanniassa Hills. The hardest bit was getting across the road at this time of day. TFTC
Ok ... I had a middle of the day appointment to donate blood (school holidays so not at work and had figured while I was down this way I might see if I could find a heap of caches so I was closer to getting that last hidden creatures souvenir, so ... after donating blood, and staying for my milkshake and coffee, I headed south, stopping at a few caches along the way.
Then I stopped at the end of Mugga Lane for a few more, then decided to park and find a few just a bit further down the road ... by which time it had somehow got dark. Then I decided to grab the others down that road and head down that way, along the highway, to do what I could of some of the trails around Richardson or somewhere that I had originally planned to do, but I saw a spot to park just around the corner as I turned on to the highway, and decided to do a couple of the Tralee trail caches first ... and ended up looking for them all - wandering around in the frost and enjoying myself - lol
Then I decided it was probably time I went home and had some (rather late) dinner, but as I was driving North I decided to make a detour to grab a couple caches I wanted to get up in Watson, and ended up looking for a few there ... ending the evening with not finding one (3rd strike for the day - I guess I am out?) at about Midnight ... then I went home and had a couple of pies for (very late!) dinner
TFTC - Nice little spot to sit and watch the traffic go by...
Photo: glad that what I just noticed beside me isn't smelly
