We'd targeted this cache for it's D/T as we're working on a full fizzy loop of traditionals only. However when I started reading previous logs, I realised the significance of it being the 2,000,000 cache. Awesome! I'm such a stat geek... [:d]
Thanks for find #4735

A nice quick find. Walked the mountain bike trail with local family members who are into mountain biking.
Great to see a good quality container that will last a long time!
Left a sealed Lego minifigure.

This cache was also on the must do list for this trip as it's the 2 millionth cache, as goose had found this before he just sat in the car while I walked up to this and search for a bit longer than i liked but found it in the end.
This trip was sort of in place of a trip to a Mega that got canceled due to accommodation problems, I was quite happy when Goose said do you fancy to caching break in the Northern Territory as this would be the last State or Territory for me in Australia.
Our plan was to fly into Darwin on the Friday night have a couple days in the area then start heading South stopping overnight whenever we needed to, our next goal was the drive to the geographic centre of Australia at Lambert Centre and then head back to Alice to fly home ten days later.
We both had a great trip finding some important old caches, large ones and the odd clever one too, we found Ammo Cans all over the place which was nice as i think we have found most of the ones at home in Tassie.
Thanks for the cache.

After finding the nearby puzzle cache I made my way here, parked my car, walked up the hill, took about 5-10min looking and finally found it! Thanks for the hunt and a well stocked cache!
Thankyou. That was the coolest cashe I've come across so far. I have been to this spot before, but it's funny to know I had stood right on top of it previously without knowing. Had friends with me and the dogs, we did it at night so it was a bit tricky but made the adventure that even bit more awesome.
I was in the Territory to visit family in Ali Curung and we stopped off here to find this cache. Murray and I headed down the hill and up the next one. My old legs made the climb a bit hard for me but I struggled on and let Murray find it as I pointed to a likely spot.
Glad to get this historic cache.

Very awesome cache! Found this one with @KacheFC. Left lots of toys. Grabbed some trackables. Will try to move them over Easter weekend.

Together with my favorite geocacher Milonguera we traveled to Australia We went to Melbourne via Singapore and from there we explore the south, the center and the east coast.
We walked around Melbourne and had a nice meet & greet event. Than we visited Philip Island with the pinguins and the Great Ocean Road. We fed and petted kangaroos visited the koalas and continued north via Coober Pedy to Alice Springs.
**Thanks for the cache!
Thanks for showing the location and for hiding the cache. You should come to Berlin in Germany to find a lot of interesting geocaches, visit lost places in the surrounding Brandenburg and meet nice people at many events.
I wish you a lot of fun and great adventures while searching for the next geocache!**
Ich bedanke mich bei rAMPant_1 für den Cache, das Zeigen dieses Ortes, das Legen und Pflegen der Dose und den Spaß beim Finden! Thanks for the cache!

from Coober Pedy to Alice Springs today
Here we had a great view - unfortunately there was a lot of broken waste in the landscape on the way to the can.
Nevertheless, I leave a there for this special cache.

Continuing our trip from Melbourne to Darwin and back, we are now on our way back home and spending a few days at Alice Springs to see the things we missed on the way up.
I had a go at this one a couple of times two weeks ago as I was headed north but was muggles out at the lookout every time so I’m having another go on my return trip south. This time I was successful with a clear lookout area and a beautiful sunny day for a walk through the bush.
‘Twas a quick find at GZ.
I also upgraded the container (at a reviewers request) to a systema inside an ammo can which should ensure it’s longevity, hopefully this cache will be around for a long long time.
**Thanks for placing this cache ThrillJoy**

We’re all going to Whittlesea to participate in Victoria’s next Mega!

An important cache to get and feel privileged that we were able to get it. Walk was doable for Mr 9 and Miss 11. I am glad I had a male muggle with us though as approaching the carpark was a little daunting. A previous finder friend told us the closest parking spot.
Sir_spectre and I went on a long overdue holiday to the Northern Territory. We had some great experiences and saw some amazing natural wonders. Not all went to plan - covid closures, flood effected roads, renovations, hot weather, some car troubles and not forgetting the huge jump in fuel costs
Any caches that needed repairs were fixed and numeous logs were replaced or added too.
Thanks to ThrillJoy from mogni

this was a target cache with 100 fav points, also because it was the 2,000,000 cache. walked up the hill, doging the spider webs. looked and found the cache container broken. I brought up a " geocaching standard size regular container " with me. logbook was fine. took some pics and walked back down. Glad i did that before the 36 degree heat.
Mogni and myself went to the Northern Territory for a 10 day holiday. We drove 5478 km's in those 10 days. The plan was to go up the Sturt highway and then go via Ayers Rock, King's Canyon and then through to Alice Springs stopping at the gorges/chasm/gaps along the way. As you can expect nothing goes to plan. Day 1 Adelaide to Cooper Pedy, made it just before the Roxby Downs turn off and blow the side wall on the tire of the 4x4, 193 km detour just to get a tire and even then it was the second tire place that had the tire the correct size. We had camels come in to the campsite in Erldunda Roadhouse, they even left hoof prints 1/2 a foot from the tent, at King's Canyon we had dingo's come through the camp ground both nights we where there and at Alice springs we had a mouse move in under the tent in their campground. Some of the aboriginal towns we passed where in lock down because of covid 19 so no going in to get fuel there, that changed some plans. The floods where way worse up in Northern Territory than i realized. Some creeks/rivers i could see the debris over 2 meters from the river bed and down one 4x4 track it washed the road away completely, the hole was 3/4 the length of the 4x4 and over 6 foot deep. The temp was 33 to 36 for 9 of the 10 days and finally cooled down for the drive home. We got 7 different caches types in the N.T. plus every different cache size. It was a good trip but not the one we planned. To many of the roads in the N.T. where damaged and not repaired ( still closed ) so that cancelled plan A but that's just a excuse to come back isn't it. Come back and see what you missed last time when the roads are fixed. We came with 19 regular " geocaching size " containers and a milk crate of small containers by day 7 all the regulars where used as replaced caches and by day 8 the smalls where gone. It was the UV rays a lot more than the floods that killed the caches and almost all the log books where saved, the micro containers seemed to have constantly full log sheets so they where replaced too.

Just scrolling through the my old logs and saw this spectacular cache was sitting in 99 favorites, I was totally out of FP when we found this one but happy to donate one now and push it over the 100 FP mark. Well deserved
TFTC this one has been on my bucket list for a long time. This is my first trip back to Alice since moving away in 2017. So this was a must do. The cache is need of some TLC but I had nothing with me to replace it today. TFTC.
We made a point of driving out to this one this morning. The cache was easy to locate but the container was brittle and kids has a hole in it (see pic). Contents are dry at this time. Found with racingstripes and her dog Tilly, tftc
I was very keen to nab this iconic 2 millionth cache. Previous visits to Alice had me caching in other areas and time ran out. But I decided that on this visit, the job was to be done. We parked at the suggested parking spot and headed off. I tripped over some concealed barbed wire and will have a huge bruise tomorrow. No real harm was done, just a small cut on my finger, so we soldiered on. This is quite a steep climb, but it was not too difficult for a couple of 64 year olds. I was not going to give up, and eventually we got to GZ where the cache was found without difficulty. Then we had to trek back to the car, which was easier than the way we took up to the cache. A true adventure and a nice one to tick off.
Parked at the parking co-ords, which doubles as the local rubbish dump!
Picked our way through the myriad of broken bottles, and other assorted debris.
Did the goat bit to get to GZ and found the cache relatively quickly with the good co-ords.
Given, like others, I made the effort to get to this '2 Millionth active cache placement', it was rather underwhelming.
I wonder how many geocachers don't actually realise this is not the 2 millionth cache published, as there were 1000's archived prior to this one?
Anyways, it ticks off another of the objectives whilst here in Alice.
TNLNSL
Thanks

This one had been one of my targets for my time in Alice. After a back injury put me out for most of this year I had put this on the backburner and thought I may never get the chance. Today on my last day in Alice I set out to try and make the find, it was a struggle to get up to, but I made it and was well worth it for the view. TFTC
Three weeks on the road for a family holiday to Alice Springs, Ayers Rock and Kings Canyon amongst other cool destinations had us traveling all over the place. We had a great time and the weather was extremely hot with bushfires that actually prevented us from going to some destinations.
Myself and the boys got up early this morning to head out and explore the outer areas of Alice Springs, of course caching along the way. We had a great morning doing some 4WDing and checking out some really cool sites.
10:30 am - found the 2,000,000th cache and was pumped.
When the cache was published I had organised plans to go and find the cache , hopefully as FTF. Got here in there end. Awesome and thanks.
Thanks for the cache.

Famous cache. I remember that morning. That was a lot of write notes. Nice views. This afternoon. The cache was found in the last place we looked, which as usual was not the first place we looked. Thanks for placing a fun cache guys. We do love your work. We signed the logbook. Of course we did that is way we play this game. Cache in pretty good condition for the cache age.

This particular geocache was found using one of the following GPS enabled devices, Garmin GPSr, Montana 680t, Oregon 650 or Dakota 20 and a Samsung S8. Waypoints and paperless geocaching were downloaded via GSAK 9. Log prepared, checked and submitted using GSAK publish logs...
Warning, this hobby can be addictive. It can lead to exercise, meeting new people and finding interesting places you might not have known existed otherwise. Beware: you may have fun.
A good short walk up a hill with lovely views from the top. Left a devil duck travel bug. Cache in reasonable order. TFTC
We were here the evening before but there were too much muggels.
So we went here again and we were alone.
We searched quite a while until we found the can.

I knew this cache was near Alice but didn't know the name or location. After being given the name by Locuscache I realised the cache was close to a mountain bike trail and that I'd passed by several weeks ago. Today this cache was the focus of the ride. I turned the gps on at the right location (only 40m to go) and it then died so over the phone for the final hunt. After a bit of search the cache was located adn the log signed.
Thanks for the cache rAMPant 1.

Today our tour - which began in Perth, WA , and led us thru Western, Northern and Southern Australia back to Perth, was simply driving from Tennant Creek to Alice Springs.
On the way we came to some interesting locations. Here we searched, found and logged this Tradi-Cache.
Weather was good in the morning and it should even get better during the day.
Thanks to 'rAMPant_1' for showing us this location, for the fun we had with 'Overwatch #1 (Cache # 2,000,000)' and for the smiley. The search here and today didn't take too much time, fortunately.
Greetings from Germany and we hope to see you soon in the forest, prairie, desert or outback .

This one was recommended to me so made the effort to come out and do it on our last full day in Alice Springs. Drove to the park and then made the climb to the cache. Unfortunately there is a lot of broken glass around here which made the walk a little dangerous underfoot. Amazing views at the top made it worth it. Took a little bit of time to find but found it in the end. TFTC
Yeeeees, found this Milestone as my no. 1000 Milestone, so great. I was pretty glad though that we didnt park on top of the hill as there is a lot of glass in the spot, looks like some drinking meetups are happening here regularly. I walked up the hill which wasnt that easy but I made it. Had a look around and thought there it is but... nothing. Damn it. I continued, looked in every corner but still nothing. But giving up? Never! I tried to find sth in the description, logs and so on and after 30 min I finally saw sth suspicious. Whoop there it is.

Could not leave town without doing this cache, we waited for the rain to stop then parked at broken bottle hill lookout and I walked up and found the cache easily.
Today in the company of JEmpsen and Micaparamedic we headed to this milestone cache. Thanks to the CO, and also Micaparamedic for pointing it out. Thanks for placing the cache rAMPant_1.
Day 4 of our *Red Centre Adventure*... and today we had a quiet day, not straying too far from Alice. I have had my eye on this cache ever since it was published... and it is only now that I have got here. I wasn't comfortable with leaving my *hire car* at the suggested parking place and wasn't going to go after the cache... but as I headed back into town I had the idea of taking a different approach.
I parked at the turn-off to the gun club and headed up the hill from there. Mostly it was relatively easy going and the only time it got a little tricky (i.e. steep slopes and big drops) was when I was off course and heading in the wrong direction. I eventually made it to the top and the search was on. It was late in the afternoon so I had one eye on the sun as I wasn't really sure of my route back down.
My search went on for a while and I was almost at the point of calling it off when I spotted the cache... or should I say, a suspicious pile of rocks that were covering the cache. So it was with a great deal of satisfaction that I signed the log book and was able to make this the last for this visit to Alice (tomorrow we head off to the *big rock* somewhere south-west of here).
Thanks **rAMPant_1** for placing this cache... although it does look a bit like all the initial crap that went on with it may have put you off caching... pity!

So is there a prize for NOT finding the 2000000th cache? We hauled ourselves up the ridge and looked everywhere that fit the hint (except, it seems, that one spot the cache was hidden). Great view though so at least there’s that.

Nice steep climb. Walked near it before finding it. Nice views of the East and West McDonald Ranges

Tenkae's Outback Adventure Day 7 - couldn't pass through Alice without grabbing Australia's 2 millionth cache. Happy to add this one to our tally. Tftc
On my three weeks’ leave in Australia I should like to see many of interesting things, a great nature also many animals unknown as well as known.
The distances are so huge, so we drive only one week by car and have three national flights.
I start in Melbourne then drive the Great Ocean Road to Adelaide, perhaps the Kangaroo Island, flight to Alice Springs to see the Uluru from there, two day camping in the outback,
flight to Cairns the Great Barrier Reef and flight to Sydney to see the Fireworks at Sylvester on the Harbour Bridge.
It is a busy plan, I hope it works.
I plan to make not so many caches I like, because the time is very short to make it all, LOL.
My friend told me on ours journey that in Alice Springs is one milestone for geocacher.
I look closer on the map and could find it
After a long walk from the town in flip flops I climb up the hill and after a short time I found the can that I'm search for
Many apologies for the unit log.
I say thank you to all the cache owners for maintenance.
Greetings from South Germany.

During our stay in Alice Springs we did not want to miss this very special cache so in the afternoon Ms. Luenny and I walked along the road to find #2,000,000. At the corner we took a shortcut and after some climbing we could finally find the box and sign the logbook. TFTC!

A tricky approach - avoid snakes while trying not to fall backwards down the hill. The initial stretch from the lookup is FULL of glass so watch your step.
Pretty happy to get this milestone of a cache, the views from here are great too. Grabbed the two travelbugs for the journey north.

We had this earmarked months earlier to do as we knew we would be in the area for a few days.
We had a nice walk up the hill and saw some fabulous views over Alice Springs.
The cache was found nicely tucked away in a secluded spot.
Thanks for the 2 millionth cache!

Staying some days together with my beloved husband Destinator in Alice Springs, relaxing at the hotel pool and driving through the landscape around, we did some geocaching too, of course.
And of course, we visited this one, enjoyed the overwatch and signed the logbook.
It was very quiet around, only one aborigine, some kangaroos and the sun in the blue sky over the hills...
Thanks for placing and showing this special place and congratulations for the number! We are looking forward to make our "twomillionth" find!
Many greetings from Germany!

Together with my beloved wife Madeye&Moody I got the habit to look for old containers in the country we visit. We were very excited to see that the oldest still active in Australia would be in reach of our route.
But you can't imagine our surprise when we discovered that the 2.000.000th had been laid in Australia!
And it was very well on our route, too.
Australia is a big, wide country, but we're lucky to find two very special containers while our stay.
On the, longer than needed, way up we saw some kangaroos. Great view for someone from Germany.
The view from gz is simply stunning.
Of course I leave a FP.
Thanks very much for placing and maintaining.

We were not planning on finding too many caches in Alice Springs, due to the heat, but this one was on my 'have to find' list. So, we waited until late afternoon and tackled the hill. One of us waited on the lookout, while the other did the climb. Nice views from here and the cache was definitely worth it. Took TB Left TB and left a path tag. TFTC
Found on our round trip in Australia now reaching Alice between a trip to the red centre and Darwin.
We looked at this cache before doing our trip but didn’t expect to do the climb in 37 degrees in the middle of the day It sure was hot
Thanks for the cache and greetings from Denmark

Up nice and early to beat the heat of the day and headed out to grab this milestone of a cache while we were staying in town. After a little rock scrambling and searching we soon the cache in hand. Had to have the mandatory picture or two taken and we headed back to the car to grab a well earned coffee. Thanks rAMPant 1 for the cache.
We travelled over from the west taking the longest shortcut road , the great central and it was rough . We are on a geocaching run to Alice and back .

An easy find this morning after a quick drive from our caravan park. We climbed up the hill while the wind was blowing in all directions, then wandered around a bit before making a find. Excited to find the #2000000th cache on Day #8 of our trip from Adelaide to Darwin. Dropped off a trackable which we had brought from Newcastle. TFTC!
After having a dry spell and spending a month in Alice, with few caches in the last 2 weeks, we were excited to get to this milestone hide before heading west, then north as we continue our adventure to Darwin and beyond. Tftc
Had a great lunch, albeit, I had to finish it in the car (silly flies would not stop harassing me!)
The view was brilliant, as was the walk up. The unfortunate thing was where I chose for parking...the view was far from spectacular as there was broken beer bottles, cans, and tons of broken everything around. Looks like some kids or drunken losers started some fires nearby as well. This by no way should deter anyone from visiting this cache, just be aware that some children may not like it (or the parents).
Having spent the last month travelling from Melbourne to Sydney to the Great Ocean Road, I felt it was time to spend some time in the other states. Having spent the past 3 in SA, it was time to move north and here we are!
Thanks and congrats on a prestigious cache.

On our vacation this year, we did a great trip as GER-17 to Australia.
GER-17 are DieFraudiemitmuss, Lundi263, de Eifelaner and murri24.
We started the tour in Melbourne where we spend a few days sightseeing and caching, including some trips out of the City to the Grampians an to the Great Ocean Road.
Nice place to be and to see.
From Melbourne we went to Alice Springs including Ayrs Rock, where we saw some nice sunsets and other great stone formations and spots.
Back in Melbourne we started by car to go to Sydney along the coast with zig zags into the blue mountains and Canberra.
Finally we arrived in Sydney and spend here the last day of our holidays with caching and sightseeing.
During this trip we found this box.

DieFraudiemitmuss, Lundi263, Murri24 and I made this year a very great tour together. Our first target is Melbourne. So we started early in the morning to visit the city and to make a few geocaches. We found very nice locations and interesting spots. One day we rent a car. Very early in the morning we drive from Melbourne City over Geelong to the Great Ocean Road. Along this road we found so much interesting spots, we see a great landscape, and had have not enough time for sightseeing. The weather was fine but a little bit windy. This day was very long and hard, but wonderful.
After that we visit the Grampians. A little bit rain, a little bit windy and a little bit sunny day, we had fasten all weathers. We visit waterfalls, canyons, sandstone fomations and any Look Outs. Puhhh, what a great landscape.
The next part of our journey is to explore the Outback. From Ayers Rock we take a car and drive over Kings Canyon and many other Look Outs to Alice Springs. We visit any very interesting Caches and had a great time by comfortable temperature.
This traditional Cache we hav also found. We log it as "GER-17". Thank you for this Cache.

Thanks a lot for hiding it! Cache no. 2.000.000 in the world - wow!

The broken glass and locals put me off the first time I arrived, the second time I was planning to do it by myself without the geo children, I didn't feel safe, a lot of local activity here. Thanks anyway
I had heard a lot about this one when it declared as number 2000000 that I just had to check it out. I don't think I approached from the right direction or parked in the right spot but I did find it which is all that counts. It was off to the pub for a beer after that trek

Thanks for the 2mil. Did this with 2 grand kids on their first trip to Alice. We lived here for 30 years. Now in the Whitsundays.
Donned some supposed shoes for this one. Laundry bag on head cos my 2nd fly net seems to have gone south....get up to GZ and it seems to be shooting arvo......hopefully they're pointing to their targets.....Cache in hand easily....big roo to be seen....1000th cache!!!! Partay!!!!
Went out with team "capital Crunchers" (ACTchil, KittyKatch, GrimRaider, The S's, ScruffyBloke, Charli_Bear, Me_to, SmittenGranny & Pa and Darzee Di) to grab this cache a must to get whilst here in Alice Springs attending the Red Centre Experience Event. Tftc rAMPant_1
YAY! Not only did I get to top of the hill but I found the cache too! Think I found the T4 route both going up and down. The hiking pole and fly net were a good idea but the black pants and drinking water through the fly net weren't such good ones. Had a rest after signing log and enjoyed the great views over Alice and beyond. TFTC! xxx

I so wanted to find this geocache. A geocacher in Christchurch recommened the find. JDScout and LSteamer joined me for this adventure. There was no track. So off we wombled. We had great views and loved the adventure.

My main reason is for The Red Centre Experience. However I am with my sons and husband who are not so keen on geocaching. Thanks for placing a geocache in a beautiful part of the world.
