This cache is currently listed as Archived in our database.

It's too hard to get around the island now it was good while covered in sand but it's under deep vegetation now. Might do something again if another flood comes hope it doesn't
Whilst I appreciate the good intentions of Crew 153 in bringing the situation regarding this cache to the attention of the geocaching community, I cannot see that the CO has not responded to a 'Needs Maintenance' log, or more importantly, that there is a serious problems with the cache or its location.
Logging information regarding a cache is certainly to be encouraged and is a great way to alert the community to an issue with a cache. However, making direct contact with the CO via email/message and acquainting them of your observation AND/OR logging a 'Needs Maintenance" log on the cache page is the preferable first step. Please only use the 'Needs Archive' log when there are serious problems with the cache or its location, or if the CO has not responded to a 'Needs Maintenance' log.
Posting a 'Needs Maintenance' log on the cache page notifies both the geocaching community as well as the cache owner. This log adds an attribute to the page (looks like a colored cross) to alert other geocachers of the needed repairs. Needs Maintenance logs are not forwarded to reviewers, but they are the first step in the Archive process.
If the geocache has not been found for a reasonable amount of time and the cache owner has not reacted to a "Needs Maintenance" log, then that is time to post a "Needs Archived" log on the listing. Please read the Help Centre article: [I found a geocache that needs maintenance](http://support.groundspeak.com/index.php?pg=kb.page&id=551)
**A recent Needs Maintenance log has not actually been placed on this cache. so I am placing one with this log.**

Slip of the finger. I thought I had posted it as a NM log.
Here it is now.

After finding the previous 2 caches on the island Scott and I headed to this one but sold not find any sign of the cache.
I read back through the previous logs and looked at the photographs posted by youngoldfella and it appeared that one tree had disappeared so we decided stop hunting although we did do a bit of raking of the ashes to no avail. Youngoldfella returned my PAF call later in the day and confirmed that the cache had been in the missing tree.

Had the boat in today so we thought we should take the GPS and beach the boat, Went for a short walk through the sand and located the treasure, My pen wouldn't work so the best I could do was scribble a name, You guys must have shares in the bison tube factory? You are allowed to put larger caches out.
Thanks for the hunt.

Catch-up log retrieved from field notes i found i had downloaded from my GPSr before it was misappropriated.
We had to make a trip to Bundy and we invited Parko's along. We have been wanting to do these ones for some time but after relocating to the Sunny Coast after the floods earlier this year, i never really found time when i return here to visit family.
We decided to head to the furthermost cache and work our way back. It was hard going through the soft sand but a lot of the tall grass has been covered by sand so that's good.
After finding the other island caches, we headed in the direction of this one and it wasn't long before we found it. We were all very hot by this time so the trip back through the channel was quite refreshing. There was way more water there than we had anticipated but the whole experience was well worth it.
Not sure this one will last the next flood event. TFTC fullfilled71

We find ourselves needing a day trip to Bundy and decided we would finally knock over these Island caches. Parko's came along for the ride and we enjoyed their company. While chatting with seirra1 last week, he let me know of a planned trip to Bundy he was making for some business he needed to attend to as well as some cache maintenance while he was there.
My arm was twisted every which way, so of course the Parko's decided to tag along for the ride
seirra1 and us3scouts had been wanting to do these caches on Harriet Island for quite some time and seeing as we were here, it was the perfect opportunity to head over.
We arrived at low tide and made our way over with out and problems until Mrs Parko went smack bang into a large tree branch, almost knocking herself out
ahh just a scratch, she'll be right
We made our way along the island, amazed at what effect the flood had had. The amount of sand dumped here is incredible.
We knew what we were looking for, but still took some time to locate. seirra1 found the little bugger and retrieved it for all to sign.
I do hope this one can last the distance, seems to be hanging on for dear life
Thanks fulfilled71

We tried to get our little caching group to come up and hit the island, but in the end it was only a few of us. Nyssa Flutterby and her husband Dav81, myself and my wife Ning33, we all drove up north to see this bit of geography for ourselves. After making our own way up there, and doing our own little adventures, we organised a rendezvous at a nearby cache for 4:00pm. The tide was still up, and it appeared we were going to get a little wet. No worries, thats what we came for. The Banana Boat was soon berthed into action, and in no time we were on this patch of sand across the way. After disembarking, the HMAS Banana, we moored our vessel and quickly attired for bush.
This was cache 3 from 4 on the Island.
After easily finding the last two, we flopped in the sand up to this one. With a little concern that there was no ammo tin, we checked the cache description to see we were looking for a ... a what? A micro? A quick conference, and my revelation that I had done a fulfilled71 cache earlier that day, and informed the group what to look for. ...There it was, before our eyes. I hope he stays there, he does look fragile. Handling the formalities, and 3/4 of the task done, it was now on to the last one.
Thank you fulfilled71 for the cache.

A small group of us had grand plans for a bit of a caching in Bundy Bender for the weekend. Dav81 and myself drove up in our Troopie with our banana boat strapped to the top. We had just enjoyed a casual drive up from Brissie and were now looking forward to tackling Harriet Island.
We met with dahumbug and Ning33 and after a small chat we were pulling the banana boat from the roof of the Troppie and heading for the river. Smiles all round for the fun adventure we were about to go on. When we reached the river the lads put the BB gently onto the water and the ladies jumped aboard followed by dahumbug. Not sure how or why but Dav81 volunteered to push us all over, I don't think he realised how deep the river was. Some how I had managed to jump in the canoe the wrong way and with three of us in her it was a bit wobbly. A few girly screams could be heard coming from me as I couldn't see where we were going and it felt like the canoe may capsize at any second Dav81 pushed us over and I watched as the water slowly swallowed his body up to his armpits Haha! Thankfully we all made it to the other side, some of us drier than others.
After trudging our way to the first two caches along the island this was to be our third find for the afternoon. I was finding getting around Harriet Island a lot easier than I thought it was going to be. On the way to this cache we found some wild cherry tomatoes growing in patches. Nom nom nom! They were tasty We arrived at GZ and the group spread out to search for the cache. Unfortunately none of us had had a real good look at the size of the cache and so we were all looking in the wrong places. Hmmm, we had a quick check of the cache page and that sorted us out. Looking for a micro NOT an ammo tin That changed our thinking! Soon after this revelation dahumbug had the cache spotted, and very quickly after that so had the rest of us. Dav81 went in for the retrieval. We then gathered around for the ritual signing and replaced the cache as we had found it.

I had checked and doubled checked the tide times and was satisfied that with low tide at 1521 then I should assault the Island at 1421. Arrived early so had linch. Walked down to the river for a look and came back to the car. At 1350 I collected my bag of tricks and water and walked way out over the sand to the river channel. The water was running outwards quickly but did not look deep. Distance thru the water to the island about 6 meters. Started walking across and the water did not even come up to my knees.
Then the 400 odd meter walk to the cache GZ on that blasted hot sand. Arrived at GZ and it was in the middle of the sand pit. Took me 15 minutes to find this lofty cache. I had it 7 meters out and for a traditional cache with a difficulty of 2 that is too far out. I had S24 51 776 and E152 19.976.
Good hide but I had to use a trick to retrieve it as it was a little too far out of reach for me.
Photos attached. The walk back was a bit easier as I found a better track than following the Gismo. The water crossing was only 4 meters wide this time and ankle deep. Walked in at 1355 and out at 1430.

Mrs Just a Trifle has just worked out how to update her GSAK database from the GPS to indicate those caches found. Well you know what that means don't you? Yep, we have found a few caches which we have not yet logged so now we are trying to catch up with the on-line logging.
We were in the area to find a specific cache that would meet the last requirement for a newly published challenge cache we were hoping to get first to find on. Seeing as we had made the drive up, we figured we might as well find a few additional caches while we were at it. Thank you for having placed the cache fulfilled 71.

Well wasn't this a nasty little piece of work! It took me a good 15 min + in the mid day sun to find this one. There were some fist pumps when I finally found it! The going wasn't too bad to this point, just hot and slow... Like desert sand I suppose.
Thanks for your efforts fulfilled71

This is a new cache I cannot allow people to claim finds on this with the other 4 as this was not here when the big group went across sorry

Joint *FTF* with the tribe. our 4th cache on the Island. Bit tricky this one going from such large sizes on the previous couple to this one. TFTC
Just making everyone aware there is almost a complete sandbar between land and the island every low tide in the afternoon at the moment at the west end of the island.
